Private/Closed Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rp

Colin licked his lips and ate his breakfast like someone who hadn't had a good meal in a long time--despite the apple he ate earlier--once he was done, he let out a satisfied sigh followed by a little belc before he looked at Sol upon his speech which included the introduction of himself and Frosty the Cryogonal. "He seems cool." The Mawile thought as he looked at the giant snowflake Pokemon. "The Whirling Lake huh hopefully shouldn't be too hard, when do we start?" He asked as he remained near Sol due to the knowledge that he was on his team.

Nora looked down at her breakfast. "It looks delicious!" She began eating it with pleasure, quickly finishing it right before Sol began his speech.
Blah... Blah... Blah... Additionally along with Yosuke, if he accepts this badge, I would like to introduce our two new members: Colin and Frosty.
"What, three new members? And they are pretty uncommon species... Well, except for the Spheal..." She thought, pretty surprised by how the number of members has increased.
Blah... Blah... Blah... Now for the explorations today. I will lead Nora, Colin, Yosuke, and Char, the Zorua if he would like, in escorting Luck, the Shinx, to the kelp in Whirling Lake.
Nora's face lit up. "YES!!! I always wanted to visit Whirling Lake once again! I wonder if anyone else knows about what goes on there... Wait a second... I am on a mission with all the new members? And one of them is potentially the weird Zorua? And I have to deal with that rude Shinx? At least Tiara's gonna be there... Ugh... I wonder what the reasonings are behind the teams..."
Blah... Blah... Blah... The reasoning is Whirling Lakes is a new location so I will lead us with a large amount of members to support.
At his words, Nora's face flickered with annoyement. "Seriously, again? I'm just there so there will be more of us? Ugh, so there could have been anyone in my place?" She sighed and put on a professional face.
Blah... Blah... Blah... If there are any questions please let me know... Blah.
"Ugh, I guess not... Ugh, the last time I had dumb role too, so I guess there's no point in questioning his reasoning." She rolled her eyes and sat down, waiting for Sol to not be preoccupied so she could meet with him and start the expedition already.

Char waited for Sol’s response when the food was shoved into his mouth. He was forced to chew it, he couldn’t spit it out at that angle. She had positioned it well. He chewed tentatively, beggining to enjoy the taste as Sol invited him to go with them.

Once Char had been set down, he made no attempt to run away at first. He stood still, listening to what they had to say... at first. He was too wet and heavy now to run fast, anyway, but that didn’t stop him from trying as soon as Hitari mentioned catching outlaws. However, he tripped on the corner of the towel which hung over his bag, and he face planted before he got a few steps.

Jay looked up from his food in surprise. He hadn't expected to be chosen as a leader. I don't know the Whistling Woods that well, but Eve was there last mission, so that might help. He walked over to the Eevee and extended a hand. "Hi! I guess we're working together for this mission!"

Eve smiled lightly, glad to be making social contact.
“Yeah, this’ll be great! Lost lyrics, huh? I’ve been in the Whistling Woods once, it’s not bad - ran into a couple of Pansage but that’s it. I’m pretty excited!”

Sol wasn’t going to try to appease the Zorua anymore, he had extended the olive branch already. “Alright team meet me at the village exit, I’m gonna go find Luck. Also Tiara, it appears Tate won’t be able to travel today so you will lead Hitari in rescuing Mango.” He announced and headed into the woods. “Hey Luck!” He shouted, “We’re ready to go!”

Hitari bursted out laughing. "I knew you were gonna try and escape, but I didn't know you were gonna do it so hastily!" Said Hitari while laughing. "Also, we only catch crooks the sherrif puts in requests for. We aren't gonna come after you." She said as sge picked up the towel. "Now I'm not gonna make you stay, but I would advise you to to rest a bit and finish your breakfast. Later." Said Hitari as she picked up the towel and laid it down on the sleeping bag. "Don't get any of my stuff wet." She said as she started heading out with Tiara.

Char felt humiliated by his slip, and remained on the ground. For some reason he felt himself warming up to the Kirlia, but he wasn’t sure why. He growled to himself as he slowly got to his feet, and then he was gone, replaced by the Torracat. Now that he was free he wanted to resume his disguise. He decided to follow the Growlithe, since he had nothing better to do, he was curious, and also wanted to see Luck again. And so he went trotting off after Sol.

Luck napped within the serenity of the lush green forest that engulfed him, however upon hearing his name being shouted, he instantly knew what was expected of him. Rising to his feet, the cat stretched and glanced toward the direction of the sound, as he expected it was the Growlithe's voice, very well they could finally go do this quest. "Part of me doesn't even want to go anymore... but I'm a cat of my word so..." The Shinx mumbled to himself before moving toward the voice that called out to him.
"Alright, let's get this started." He finally responded to the guild leader, having a little more motivation in his voice.

“Sounds good, follow me this way.” He led the Shinx towards the village exit. “Guys I found him, let’s get going!” He shouted and waited for the rest of his team to report. Sol noted the Char following close behind, he was getting a little annoyed by the Pokémon. What does he want? Thought Sol, it’d be one thing if he was just shy and interested in joining but all he’s been thus far is rude. Sol decided he’d let Char follow them, it wasn’t like he was hurting them, and even if he tried to Sol now knew he could easily defeat him. Sol sat down and waited for the rest of his group, deciding to chat with the Shinx, “So Luck, where are you from?”

Luck was surprised to hear the guild leader... or Sol ask about where he was from. He cleared his throat and looked the Growlithe in the eyes, it was no where special, still Luck admired his homeland because his family and the Pokemon he met made it worthwhile. "I was actually raised here, the Blaze Continent. The Southern reaches of the continent anyway, where many of the unforgiving savannas call home. It was rough, people fought to earn respect- but I enjoyed it." He answered reminiscing about his past life, that somehow seemed so distant to him now. "Even if I grew up on endless fighting, I'd prefer if I stayed in the far back for this exploration."

"Huh, so I guess Tiara isn't coming with us. Great, just great..."Nora sighed in fruatration, got up and followed Sol and Luck. "I cannot believe I got stuck with that annoying Zorua and this stupid Shinx... Well, at least I get to see his expression when he's gonna see how much kelp he'll get." She smirked to herself and sat down alongside her leader and the rude Shinx, not knowing what the conversation was about. She realized they were talking about Luck and quickly began to listen.
...It was rough, people fought to earn respect- butI enjoyed it.
"...Oh. So I guess THAT'S why he's so rude. Huh, people fought each other to earn respect? That's hardcore, but I kinda like it." She brushed her bangs out of her right eye and continued to listen.

“That’s perfectly fine.” Sol smiled at Luck, “After all, you did pay us to guide you.” Sol looked over to see Nora approaching. “Hi Nora, we’re just waiting for Colin and Yosuke before we head out.” He tried to be extra nice to her, for some reason she almost always seemed irritated. He noted the absence of the lunar ribbon and felt a little hurt she didn’t like the gift. “Not ready to evolve yet?” He asked somewhat jokingly.

Colin folded his arms and went over to Sol, he smiled and waved over at Nora before he tapped his foot while the large jaws on the back of his head snapped a few times in boredom. "So, what is the Whirling Lake like anyway? I've only heard a few things about it and I've barely left home until now." The Mawile said with curiosity.

Tiara motioned for Hitari to follow. “Hey, Hitari! We should probably head out soon. Feel free to prepare, if you need.” She walked towards the dungeon, with a slight limp.

Eve smiled, checking her satchel. She had her normal supply: an Escape Orb, a couple of Oran Berries, and her prized Petrify Orb. She didn’t plan on using the Petrify Orb, as this would be a simple mission, but it was nice to have anyway.

"So if you think about it, the Whistling Woods are--Huh?" She was snapped out of her thoughts by Sol.

Hi Nora, we’re just waiting for Colin and Yosuke before we head out.

"Right." She said with a normal face. Then, her eyes widened at his next words.

Not ready to evolve yet?

"Oh, um, um, like, um, no, not yet. You said, like, um, that I need to wear it near someone I have a deep bond and like, um, I only met you all yesterday... So to sum up, un, no," she said, quite shocked. It weirded her out enough that Sol gave her a gift right on the day they met, now they need to talk about it? She did not like that. She cleared her throat and said, "Well, anyway--" She was interrupted by Colin who asked a question. "Oh, you wanna know about the Whirling Lake? Well, you're in for a whirlride!" She was about to crack up at her own joke, but she caught herself and put on a professional face. "Well, it's to the far east of the Blaze Continent, about a one hour journey from here. It has bridges that all meet in the middle, five kilometers away from each other, so no matter at what point of the shore we end up, we'll end up in the middle. Now, the kelp and seaweed grow right in the middle. Since they're the finest kelp and seaweed, and they're so limited, the Pokémon that live in the lake often fight for it once or twice a day. The worst fight that could happen would be between an Alolomola and a Wishiwashi School Form."

Colin chuckled at Nora's response. "Or if we're lucky, we'll just run into a very friendly and generous Milotic." He replied before he looked at his hand briefly. "As for the chance on fighting... let's just hope we don't get caught in the middle of it despite going into the middle of the Whirling lake." He said with a faint sign of worry.

Yosuke finished packing and head rolled up to the Whirling Lake team. "I'm ready to go. Sorry I took so long. I'm not sure whether or not it was necessary, but I made lunch." said Yosuke as he pulled up a small picnic basket filled with wraps and oran berries. He put it in his backpack on and followed everyone to Whirling Lake.

Hitari shouted. "I'm coming!" as she ran towards the exit of the guild. She pulled out a travel guide. "I got this while getting breakfast. It's an adventurer's guide for mystery dungeons in the area. Spike Cavern is a huge crack in the ground. As the name suggests, there's huge rock spikes, and rumors say there's even a super strong pokemon in the lowest part. I hope Mango's okay."

“Sounds good! Let’s get going.” Sol chimed as the last of his group arrived. He began leading them towards the lake.

As they neared the lake he was taken aback by the sight. It truly was a whirling lake. The water sparkled as it swirled around. Sol recalled Nora’s knowledge of the area “Why don’t you lead the way?” Sol suggested to the Eevee.

———

Gosh darn it, this is humiliating Mango thought as He wiggled, trying to free himself. He thought back about the course of unfortunate events that had led him to this predicament. He had seen the flyer for his old friend Sol’s guild and decided he would like to join, but wanted to prove that he wasn’t the same clumsy kid Sol remembered him as. Mango concluded the best way to do so would be to present the new guild leader with a gift, a fire stone to be exact. He had heard rumors of rare stones in Spike Cavern and decided to search there. After using dig for hours he had finally found a fire stone. Unfortunately on his way back out the tunnel he had dug sunk in and left him stuck. Mango could only hope an exploration team would come save him.

After one long hour of walking that felt like six hours, the group finally reached Whirling Lake. The water was swirling around, so that means a fight was going on. Nora looked at Sol as he spoke to her.

Why don’t you lead the way?

"Oh, um, alright," she said quite surprised, her ears flopped in embarassment. "What is this guy's deal," she thought, biting her lip, "he keeps giving me attention like I'm some child..." She shook her head and looked around. She spotted a bridge twenty meters to the right. She led to group to it. She slowly stepped on the sturdy wood, and then picked up to pace. "So I've been here plenty of times with my family," she spoke to the group. "This place isn't so bad when there isn't a fight. And as you can see, the water is swirling. That means one is taking place right now. Even though this is a big lake and the fights happen in the middle, you might wonder why the water way over here is swirling. Well, the Pokémon in Whirling Lake have a fighting technique. They keep swimming in circles around their enemy, trying to throw them off. But since all the Pokémon here do that, it's not really working." She brushed her bangs out of her eye. "We still got like one hour and a half to get to the middle. But if we run, we might be there in an hour."

Luck noted that the Growlithe and the Eevee may have some special connection, from what he heard he really seemed to trust her. When Sol appointed the Eevee to lead the expedition, Luck shivered. "Hey, Eevee I don't mind you leading... but please no more of those "whirlride" jokes." The Shinx requested, although he kind of wish that he didn't, since he figured she'd just do it more considering her personality. Anyway, doesn't really matter, I'm just here to see if I made the right choice. He gazed at the swirling water around them, it was kind of cool, it was unlike anything he'd ever seen before. But it was because Pokemon were fighting? The kelp must've really been something then, but what made it so special? The Shinx pondered silently, however he guessed that they'd find out soon enough and continued to follow the rest of the group.

As Frosty waited for a response, and was ignored, he overheard another Pokémon call out for Hitari. A Kirlia had ran over to the other Pokémon, and Frosty noticed it was a Riolu. When he got over there, his eyes lit up a light pink. “Wow... I’ve never seen a Riolu in person before. I mean, I’m not sure how common they are or anything, but... still, I think it’s amazing!” He thought to himself. He then followed the two, unsure if they’d want to converse or not. While he was usually the one to start the conversation, he’d felt that they might not want to talk, so he followed quietly from behind.

Nora's face flickered with annoyement at the Shinx's rude comment, but quickly put back on her professional face. "Man, I wish that I could just throw him the lake and let him drown... No, Nora. You're the one in an exploration guild, you need to be the bigger person..." She thought as she looked at the water. In the distance she noticed a bunch of Shellos and Finneon rapidly swimming away to the shore. "That must mean that the fight is brutal, and that Shellos and Finneon aren't involved... So I was right. An Alolomola was fighting a school of Wishiwashi... Wait, the water is swirling really quickly... There is a group of Alolomola... We've gotta be careful." She looked behind her. You couldn't see the shore anymore. She spoke to the group. "We're getting close. I think this is what we should do: Colin, Yosuke and Sol will try and distract the Pokémon fighting by aiming attacks next to them, that'll make them assume that you want to fight them for the kelp and seaweed. You'll also need to attack them from different points, that way they'll break off into groups and try to attack you, leaving the kelp. While they're distracted, I'll jump in the water and use Bite, getting the quantity that 1,000 Poké could but and bring it to Luck. How does that sound?"

Colin silently followed the group as they made their way toward the Whirling lake and looked at it in awe when it came into his view... followed by a few smaller Pokemon run away from the location due to what Nora assumed would be a fight between a couple of big Pokemon. "Well, seems like we're getting our hands dirtier than expected." He said as he heard Nora's plan on how to handle things. "I got dibs on the Wishiwashi." He replied confidently while his back jaws snapped hard. "But I think the boss should be extra careful; the fact this place is water central, he's gonna be at a big disadvantage." He said as he looked at Sol with slight concern.

“Don’t worry about me.” He laughed at the Mawile. Day one and he’s judging my strength thought Sol. “Maybe we should have Yosuke grab the kelp.” Sol suggested, “After all he’s a water type so he could get in and out faster, plus he’s our chef so he could grab extra to cook for us.” Sol used sunny day and ready a flame burst. The effects of sunny day would make it so he could fight the water types on equal footing.

That whole time Char had merely followed the group, hanging rather towards the back. All of these things were strange to Char, and even though they made him very suspicious they also seemed... almost pleasant? He didn’t care for the look of the lake... too much water, and even after all the walking his fur was slightly damp. He sat himself down at the back of the group to observe what they would do. He nodded at Luck, as a small sign of greeting, but otherwise made no approaches to the guild members.

"No, leave that to me," Nora declined Sol's suggestion. "I have done this many times before, sometimes not even getting help from my family. The only difference is that the fight is between Alolomola and Wishiwashi. I just need to use Quick Attack to get to the bottom of the lake, use Bite to cut the kelp. Plus, Yosuke could always freeze the water." She brushed her bangs out of her eye and waited for her team's response.

Tiara couldn’t help but smile when the eager Cryogonal appeared behind her. She clasped her hands in front of her, smiling modestly.
“You’re right, we’re not that common. I’m Tiara. It’s a pleasure to meet you. You can come with us, if you’d like. We’re going to rescue an old friend of Sol’s.”

“Fine.” Was all Sol said. He didn’t like the fact that Nora would directly question his orders, but decided she could go if she wanted. However, there was nothing he could do for her if she got in trouble. “Get ready.” He prepped his team and shot a flame burst directly into the mouth of the Wishiwashi school, causing them to scatter.

As they got closer to the middle, the other bridges could be seen coming from different sides of the lake. At the point where they all connected, there was a gigantic gap in the shape of a circle where kelp could be seen poking out of the water and seaweed floating above the water. The gap was separated from the small portion were you could walk by a short red fence. In the water you could see the Alolomola group and the Wishiwashi having an intense fight. Then, all of a sudden, fire ball was shot into the Wishiwashi school form's mouth, making the Wishiwashi seperate. The Pokémon noticed the group and sent Hydro Pumps their way as a threat. Nora dodged and took a fighting stance, waiting for Colin and Yosuke to do their jobs.

"Got it." said Yosuke as he dived in. Under water he shot Water Pulses at both the Wishiwashi and Alomomola. The water pulses were amplified underwater and shot mini jets that pushed them away. "Sorry about that." said Yosuke to the pushed away fish pokemon. Yosuke proceeded to use Aurora Beam a cold rainbow ice wall around it. the Wishiwashi and Alomomola started ramming into the wall. "Nora, they won't be there for long! Nora, try and grab as much as you can!" said Yosuke as he grabbed some with his mouth. and swam back up.

Hitari turned around. "Well Cryogonal aren't too common around here either." Said Hitari with a chuckle. "The Guide gives us a general location of the Spike Cavern. I'll teleport us there." Said Hitari. In a pink flash they were gone. Suddenly they appeared right above the fissure. "This feels oddly familiar!" said Hitari as she started falling from the sky. She grabbed a small ledge sticking out from the sides and caught Tiara with Psychic. "At least Frosty can float." she said as she pulled herself up and levitated Tiara toward her.

Nora liked how Yosuke handled the Fish Pokémon so well, but she did not show it. She used Quick attack and ran for the water. She jumped over the fence and dived into the water. She got all the way down, and touched the sand. She used Bite and ripped the two meter kelp from its roots. She began kicking up, trying to get back up, the Quick Attack still active. But there was still danger. An Alomomola that Yosuke didn't get in between the walls used Aqua Jet and was heading straight for Nora. Her eyes widened and dodged right at the last second. She tied the kelp around her ankles to free her mouth and used Echoed Voice. The attack pushed Alomomola away. She used Echoed Voice again, the power increasing. She used it over and over again until the Alomomola got gazed. She took the opportunity and swam back up. She got back on the bridge right before the Wishiwashi broke the wall, in their school form. They were headed right for Nora. She ran to the others, right before the Wishiwashi bit a part of the bridge.
She was breathing hard, searching the water. Yosuke was surrounded by Alomomola. She used the kelp as a lasso and threw it around the Spheal's body. She began pulling, and pulling, and pulling, until Yosuke was back on the bridge. Her expression was cool as a pickle. "We'd better go. We have all the kelp we need," She told the group. "Colin, you could try to keep the Wishiwashi away, since you wanted to fight them off."

Colin nodded and walked as close as he could to the Wishiwashi school, yet not into the water. "Over here, big guy! Or guys!" He called as he began to conjure a pink tornado of Fairy Wind directly at the giant school of fish and flung it into the air before it splashed back into the water several meters away from the Spheal and Eevee, then he conjured a large amount of pink mist that had an incredibly sweet smell to it. "You want a real fight, tough guy?! Come on!" He shouted once more to get the Wishiwashi's attention only to see it turn and charge at him. "There you go!" He said confidently as he quickly jumped upward and crossed his arms in front of his face as his body briefly looked metallic. "Hopefully that Iron Defence should help me out. That Sweet Scent seemed to have caught his attention, I should make sure it stays that way." The Mawile thought to himself as he prepared to use Crunch with his large back jaws just in time for the Wishiwashi to make contact with him.

Jay looked up, impressed. The Whistling Woods certainly were formidable, with trees stretching high into the sky, generating the sound for which the forest was named. There wasn't a lot of light, which would make the search for the bag difficult. Fortunately, being a fire-type had its advantages, allowing Jay to produce a flame by which to see. He looked behind him to see Eve. "You probably know this forest better than I do, Eve. Can you bring us to a spot where the bag of lyrics might have fallen to the ground? We should check those places first."

Luck was surprised to see Char already back on his feet, though what he didn't understand was why he was still disguised as a Torracat. We know his true form already. Maybe he doesn't like being a Zorua? That didn't seem right though, there had to be a different reason. Or maybe he can't show his true self? Nah... Escaping from his thoughts, Luck was able to see the Torracat nod at him. He gave a slight smile in response, but with so much commotion upfront, his attention was soon diverted. There was already so much battling, the Shinx had started to quiver with excitement, he had to jump into the fray and battle... but no he couldn't, not this time. So Luck tried his hardest to settle down, and after a while, it worked. I'll leave this to them this time.

“Yeah! I have come from a pretty far way away. Anyways, I’ll stan- er, be still so you can teleport us.” Frosty replied. They were then warped to the inside of the cavern, where his two companions fell into the crag, one of which caught the other, and he heard the remark about him being able to float. “Oh, I’m so sorry! I guess I have it easier than you two... I would offer to carry you, but my body is freezing cold, and I’m afraid you might become icicles...” Frosty said as his eyes became a light blue, where he was sorry but with reason. “Hey, if y’all want, I can scout ahead to make sure there’s no other cracks.” He offered, seeing as he’d easily be able to find them.

Tiara was caught off guard when she dropped, looking up at Hitari gratefully.
"Thanks," she said with a smile.
She turned back to Frosty, still smiling. She couldn't help but take a liking to the Cryogonal.
"Sure! You go ahead. I'll use my aura to search for where Mango might be."
She closed her eyes, as a faint blue glow appeared around her. An expression of concentration was visible on her face, as she reached out with her auric vision.
Rock... berry... stick... no, can't see Mango...
She concentrated further, still not sensing Sol's friend. The glow around her grew bright, casting a blue shimmer on everything around her.
More rocks... dirt... water... trail... TRAIL!
She sensed an auric signature, trailing off into one of the paths of the cavern. Her eyes flashed open, as the blue glow faded.
"This way!" She bolted off into the cavern, motioning for the others to follow.

(Eve)
Eve looked around, deep in thought.
"Well, they really could be anywhere. The Whistling Woods are huge. If they were in a bag, they could have caught on some low branches.. actually, that could be it." She began looking around, while still remaining on guard in case enemies approached.

"It would be nice if you could do that!" Said Hitari. "Sorry about the teleportation thing. I've never been too good at it." Said Hitai embarrassed. "I'm coming!" Said Hitari as she jumped from a ledge to an alternate path and followed Tiara. She closed her eyes but couldn't locate anything. "Well I guess he's not here." Said Hitari as she walked back on to the main path. "Mango! Are you still alive!? We're a part of Sol's Exploration Team! Shout back if you can hear us!"

Mango heard some shouting, but the sounds were muffled since his head was stuck in the ground. “Help!” He began screaming, not sure if anyone could hear.

——

Sol looked over to see the Wishiwashi attacking Colin and knew he had to act quickly. He readied a fire in his mouth, hoping his flame burst would be enough when combined with the effects of sunny day. He shot fire towards the enemies, but this was not the fire ball he had been expecting to shoot, instead he launched a stream of flames from his mouth. Woah, am I using Flamethrower? Sol was in awe at the powerful feeling he got from using the attack.

(OOC: Going boating for a few hours. This will most likely be my last post for a while.)
Tiara felt a rush of desperate emotions from the direction she was moving. Her eyes flashed blue, as her aura senses began going wild.
“He’s down here somewhere!” Tiara said excitedly. She ran down the pathway.
