The Lapras countered with a Hydro Pump, mostly negating both moves. Some of the Hydro Pump managed to power through, however, and some hit Tethys. The Milotic easily shook off the attack, however, her body glowing slightly as the Aqua Ring around her and the Leftovers hidden in her scales replenished her lost health.
"Tethys, another Dragon Pulse!" The Marine Knight commanded while the Lapras was using Refresh. Lapras' weren't exactly known for their mobility and agility, so the Marine Knight had a feeling that it was still where it was before. Tethys fired another Dragon Pulse through smoke in the area the Lapras was before. But right after she launched the attack, Shiori watched as a dark pink energy surrounded Tethys. It suddenly threw her against the side of the arena. Even so, the Milotic was quickly back up and ready to battle.
"Tethys, Toxic!" The Marine Knight commanded. Once again, Tethys launched another glob of poisonous goo towards the Lapras.

Soprano managed to narrowly dodge the Dragon Pulse, but was unable to avoid the Toxic. She winced slightly, as the poison took its toll.
"Soprano, Freeze-Dry!"
Soprano generated a beam of blue light, before firing it at the Milotic. It spread the attack around the arena, so that it would have a difficult time dodging.

Another attack, and once again the Marine Knight was ready.
"Tethys, Protect!" The actor commanded. Once again, four large pillars of water burst from the ground in front of the Milotic. The Freeze-Dry attack collided with the barrier, freezing the pillars solid and forming a nice wall to protect Tethys from the ice-type moves. As Tethys did this, her body glowed slightly as she was healed of some of the damage done to her from the Psychic by her Aqua Ring and Leftovers. But the Marine Knight knew he was going to have to keep up the heat if he didn't want that Lapras to just Refresh again and get rid of the Toxic poisoning. It was a Lapras... it didn't have Hydration, since it still used Refresh even though it was raining. So that left either Shell Armor or Water Absorb, and the Marine Knight wasn't going to risk it.
"Tethys, keep up the pressure with Dragon Pulse!" The Marine Knight commanded. Slithering out from behind the now-icy barrier, Tethys fired another Dragon Pulse at the Lapras.

"Soprano, Psychic again!"
However, with Talia's command, she gave a slight movement of her hand as well. It wouldn't be noticeable from across the battlefield, but it would be noticeable by Soprano. Soprano gave an affirmative nod.
Soprano's eyes glowed blue, much brighter than before. It raised both its flippers. The Dragon Pulse was surrounded by the pink glow, and diverted away from the Lapras. However, at the same time, Soprano secretly used Future Sight.
"Counter with a Dragon Pulse of your own!"
Soprano released an identical draconic pulse, racing towards the Milotic.

Wow. Using Psychic to divert away an energy-based attack. The Marine Knight had seen similar techniques to divert more physical type attacks, such as rock-type moves, but never an energy-based attack. That was actually pretty impressive. The Lapras seemed to hesitate a moment after using the Psychic attack, giving Tethys time to move. The Dragon Pulse launched by the Lapras still managed to hit Tethys, and the Milotic was knocked back. Once again, her body glowed slightly as her Aqua Ring and Leftovers healed her slightly. Even though Tethys had taken a bit of damage, the Marine Knight was okay with this. Attacking meant that the Lapras didn't have time to Refresh.
"Tethys, hide behind the ice barrier and use another Dragon Pulse!" The Marine Knight commaned. Slithering behind the ice barrier created from Protect and Freeze-Dry, Tethys made it so only her head was outside the barrier before firing another Dragon Pulse at the Lapras.

As Shade was about to hop over the other set of empty seats in front of her to jog by the rails out of there, she stopped herself and looked at Jaden with a strange look. He wasn't himself. Was he always like this in a battle? He seemed almost dead. If anything, she knew he wanted the battle to finish quickly due to the almost bored look he held that contrasted with his tone, but she wasn't going to be giving him that luxury. He would just have to fight and have fun battling her, and if that meant annoying his Pokemon with a battle strategy that has won her a few fights due to the other opponent forfeiting, then so be it.

She took a mental note of his possible reasoning for this look before hopping over the seats and jogging out of the stadium, with Chu hovering above her. Her black trench coat billowed behind her as she made her way towards the exit of the first stadium and the entrance to the second. Looking at it though, Shiori and Talia were already there. Cursing herself for being late, she jogged to the third stadium and went to the participant's waiting room on one side.

She took off her trench coat and hung it up, allowing her black t-shirt and black shorts to be seen more, as well as the charms on her necklace. She took her Mega Ring and Z-Ring off and hid them in her satchel before hanging that up, too. Her PokeBalls were on her trainer belt as she psyched herself up for this battle, hopping on each foot alternatively as if jogging in place. She tied her hair back and looked at the reflection. There were some scarring clear as day on her arms and legs due to scuffles with dangerous Pokemon and training her own. Her pale skin didn't help, either and just accentuated them. Oh well, the scars made her look tough.

She walked to the open doorway to the stadium and took a deep breath before stepping out into the adrenaline-filled battlefield, the lights, and the sounds of people and Pokemon cheering.

Her Alolan Raichu was floating above her and waved at the crowd with both mousey paws and a cheerful look, while Shade looked on at the other side. A devilish smirk crossed her face as something changed in her eyes: a brutal look. Her stance was held straight, her legs together, and her eyes intensely staring forward. She whistled a low note and Chu, while not liking her PokeBall, went inside her own confines anyway in a flash while Shade pulled a PokeBall out that had a snowflake pattern etched on the top. It was time to get cold.

She threw the PokeBall out and, in a flash, a wondrous, yet eerie, icy beauty emerged. A Froslass opened her eyes in a sultry fashion before looking at the crowd and throwing them a wink and blowing a kiss to them on both sides before facing forward, her arm held over her mouth as if to hide a smile or a giggle.

As Shade threw the PokeBall and retrieved it, she started to hunch a bit at the shoulders. The sick grin and look in her eyes almost seemed to convey that she was practically unhinged a little, but she knew what she was doing.

This was going to be fun.

Remaining quiet on his way to the stadium, Jaden continued with his dead and uninterested look. His innermost thoughts wanted to just throw the match and give the victory to Shade. His pride, as well as his promise though, both quelled that thought very quickly.

I promised I’d fulfill all their dreams. Every last one...After everything I’ve done, there’s no way I can just hand her a win…

Already being prepared and steeled for whatever competition might come his way, the man made no adjustments or last minute changes, once they got to the right arena. Walking through the waiting area, he headed out to the field, wasting little time. The massive arena, lights, and the cheering of the crowd did nothing to change his expression. In fact, while he had seemed bored before entering the stadium, now that he was here, Jaden looked like he was on the verge of anger. An intense, focused aggression, that was about to spill forth.

I have to be here, have to have fun...yeah, this’ll be fun…

Approaching his Trainer’s Box, the red coat he wore lifted up in a gentle breeze, revealing even more wear and tear to his clothing on its inside. There was one thing besides destroyed material inside his jacket though. It appeared there were things sewn to a huge portion of the fabric. They were all reminders. These items would never let him forget his monumental promise, as long as he lived.

Shade had already sent out her first Pokemon before he had the chance to. Sizing up her Pokemon, it reminded him back to when he had first lost to Morty. It was so many years ago, but he remembered the event clearly. Since then, he had learned from his mistakes. It would take more than a tricky Ghost Pokemon to break him and his team. Reaching for his own Pokeball, Jaden pulled one off his belt, throwing it into the air. The ball rocketed forth, propelled by his anger induced force, and then popped open with a shimmering white light. Pouring out from it appeared a Rapidash, that immediately upon landing kicked up some dirt by stomping its feet. Fierce flames billowed forth making up its mane, as well as its legs, and trailed off from its legs. The look in its eyes was one that showed fierce resolve, a sign of the many hard fought battles it had been in.

Readying himself for the match, the man could see his opponent’s sick grin on their face. It was very different from the normal looks he saw during battle. In fact, it was strangely unique to him. Enough that seeing it incited more anger inside himself. Do you think you’re important or something? Grinning like that...Fine, I’ll give you everything I’ve got Shade. You want fun? We’ll see just how fun you find this…

Getting the signal that the match was ready, Jaden chose to open with a small taste of the punch his team could pack. “Rapidash...speed up, then give it a Flare Blitz” A mere moment after the lifeless command was ordered, the Pokemon began to gallop quickly. Seeming to pick up speed, the horse moved quicker and quicker, gaining a boost to its quickness from Agility. Very quickly, almost nothing could be seen of the creature, save for the blur of flames from particular parts of its body. Once it had reached a point it felt Froslass would have trouble reacting to, Rapidash barreled towards the ghost like lightning, flaring up and coating its body in flames for a high speed Flare Blitz.

At this point, both trainer and Pokemon knew that this was a lost cause. Soprano couldn't take too much more, with the Toxic racking up and the attacks still coming.
"Soprano, Shock Wave!" Talia called.
Just before the Dragon Pulse hit, the Transport Pokemon released a wave of electric energy. The pulse hit Soprano, but the wave traveled through the arena, sparking yellow and white.
Soprano passed out with a smile, as the ground began to suddenly rumble. Strange psychic portals appeared around the Milotic, around five or six. Suddenly, orbs of rainbow colored energy burst out of the wormholes as Future Sight took full effect.

Everest had no chance at defeating Kaiju, but the Frost Tree Pokemon and Hyoga weren’t going to let the dragonite get away without a fight. Neither Everest of Hyoga let out any sound as the fire blast threw him back a great distance, carving a deep gouge in the field
“Everest has been conquered it seems. Very well Nero return to regain our imperial dominance of this battle” Hyoga once again amping up the performative elements of his battling style as Nero returned to the field once more.
“Nero let’s keep things going with Laser focus and Blizzard” the Emperor Pokemon focuses his vision toward the flying Kaiju and unleashed another powerful blizzard

Shade just laughed a very harsh laugh as she saw the fiery horse charge forward. Typical... Just like my brother. Without even being told to, the Froslass darted out of the way while creating a freezing ball of ice in between her hands. She then sent it all over the floor as she quickly made her way about the battlefield, creating an ice rink using Ice Beam, while the ground underneath Rapidash stayed like dirt. She then threw a frozen ball in the sky and many clouds formed that then began dropping hail the size of little golf balls. Her body became difficult to see as her Ability activated. She darted about quickly sending little orbs of confusing lights towards the Rapidash in the form of Confuse Ray.

While Shade liked the tough look of both the Rapidash and Jaden, she felt like Jaden was taking this too seriously. He doesn't look like he's having fun. Well, time to make him have some fun by annoying the absolute pants off of him, and that was the reason why Shade let her Froslass run around and do as she pleased until she felt the need to say a command.

Let the fun begin...

Her harsh laughter ringing in his ears, Jaden’s angry face seemed to contort in further rage. Normally, he managed to keep calm and composed during a battle. There was something different about this match though. Maybe it was because he had talked with her beforehand? Most of his other fights were against people, he had long since forgotten as nameless faces. Minimal interaction to be had. Perhaps the attempt to understand him? In the heat of the moment, he neither knew, nor cared, what sparked it. Only that he felt a deep repressed anger spilling forth when he looked at Shade.

So you think this is funny huh?...Think I’m just a joke? YOU DON’T KNOW ME! Were you looking down on me earlier then too?! Pretending that you’d know how Seria would feel?! Pretending you know what I’m here for?!...

“Rapidash! Bounce, then Sunny Day to clear the ice!”

Right as the ground in front of the horse was frozen over, Rapidash executed a tremendous jump, bounding into the air. While airborne, the fire that had been coating its body from the Flare Blitz left it, ascending into the sky as hail rained down. Continuing higher and higher, the flames ate away at the hail that downpoured, before dispersing the clouds Froslass had created. Sunlight poured down from the sky, heating up the battlefield that had been frozen over. The ice would no doubt melt soon, however, that didn’t mean immediately. Which still left two problems that were too late to deal with.

When attempting to land from the Bounce, the ice still remained beneath Rapidash’s feet. The Sunny Day had gone off without a hitch, but Jaden noticed as the horse descended, something was off with how they were acting. Putting two and two together, the Trainer realized one of the Confuse Ray orbs had still landed its mark. Gritting his teeth as the scene played out, Rapidash’s landing failed miserably. Unaware of what was going on, the horse freaked, which led to it losing footing on the ice more than it already would have. Crashing to the ground, the creature tried to stand in its dazed state, only to fall down again each time. Like someone attempting to ice skate for the first time while having a panic attack.

Dammit! I was focused too much on Froslass’s ability, and keeping Rapidash’s mobility...she probably planned this...We’re far from done though. I won’t let something this small trip us up!

The Shock Wave attack passed through the ice barrier, and the Marine Knight raised an arm to shield himself from the slight shock of the attack. The attack struck the Milotic, shocking it and making Tethys cry out. That's right, Shock Wave never missed. Darn. But it looked like the Lapras was finally out of the fight with the last Dragon Pulse Tethys had fired off. But to the actor's surprise, sudden orbs began to appear around Tethys. Each fired a powerful psychic beam at the Milotic, which sent the sea serpent-like Pokemon flying back. It took the Marine Knight a moment to realize what exactly happened. That was... Future Sight? But when had she done that?

The water type lay on the ground for a moment before slowly managing to get back up. It looked exhausted and close to fainting, but was still ready to continue fighting.
"Tethys, Recover." The Marine Knight commanded. The Milotic let out another cry as it stood up straighter. It's body began to glow brightly as energy seemed to be sucked out of the air and into Tethys' body, healing some of it's wounds and energizing it. Seeing that Tethys looked more ready to fight, the Marine Knight turned his attention to Talia and gestured at her to send out her next Pokemon. He would have to watch his opponent more carefully so he'd be able to catch things like that Future Sight thing.

Talia glanced down at her side, taking a second to decide on her next pick. However, she selected within a few seconds.
"Harmony!"
She tossed her Pokeball into the air. In a burst of multicolored stars (her Pokeball seal), Harmony the Togekiss emerged. She floated above the ground, her eyes narrowing and her expression bright.
"Electrified Grass Knot!"
Harmony nodded, before using a combination of two moves at once: Thunder Wave and Grass Knot.
The Pokemon grounded, before touching her wings to the ground. A green energy flooded through the ground, before she used Thunder Wave as well. Now, the vines that would emerge would have an electric charge.
Vines appeared beneath Tethys, ready to ensnare the Pokemon. Tiny yellow sparks were visible, as a result of the Thunder Wave.

A Togekiss? Talia seemed to like her Pokemon tanky, at least so far. Not liking the sound of an Electrified Grass Knot, the Marine Knight barked a command of his own. Shiori had never been a fan of combination moves (with a few exceptions). Of course, there was no argument for the moves being much more powerful. It was quite likely that the "electrified grass knot" would probably instantly KO Tethys if it hit. After all, Tethys had a massive Special Defense, but her Defense really wasn't that great. In the actor's opinion, in most cases, they took to long for the Pokemon to pull off the move. That gave the opponent plenty of time to counter or dodge. Like the Marine Knight was going to have Tethys do now.

"Tethys, Protect! Then follow up with another Toxic." The Marine Knight ordered as the Togekiss grounded itself. For a third time, large pillars of water burst from the ground in front of Tethys. The pillars stopped the green and yellow energy there, causing the pillars of water to spark and vines to burst up before the water disappeared. Once those pillars of water fell, Tethys launched a glob of nasty-looking poison at the grounded Togekiss.

Shade just giggled some more as her lovely Yuki was doing her thing. She almost looked like she was dancing about. Too bad the hail disappeared, but right now, the Rapidash was having issues getting up. Looking over at Jaden, she noticed he was furious. She shouted out to him, clearly not buying the fact that he was mad at her. "Awww, come on, bud, why so serious? You said you were gonna have some fun, but your face says otherwise!"

Yuki, the smaller-than-average Froslass, smirked and giggled. Unsure of whether or not Rapidash was a certain gender, she opted to go for Attract until Shade blurted out "Eerie Icy Wind!"

Shade knew that Yuki was a more status-oriented battler, and so she wondered what Shade had planned. Charging up an Icy Wind with her hands, a weird wind blew in from behind as her eyes glowed a bright blue. She sent the combination of Icy Wind and Ominous Wind forth towards the Rapidash that was down, a purple and icy blue wind covered in slight bits of snow and ghostly bits covered the ground. Although, using these moves at the same time seemed to drain Yuki more than usual, which was why she chooses to fight with status moves and being annoying than actually fight. Still, she focused what she could before gearing her body to flee at the first sign of an attacking Fire move, which the Rapidash was probably more than capable of using a Flamethrower if it wanted to.

"Steel Wing!"
Harmony's wings glowed silver, as the Jubilee Pokemon launched forward through the air. With one clean slash, the Toxic was destroyed - and the contact didn't harm Harmony, due to her wing being cloaked in Steel-type energy at the time.
"Now, Harmony! Hyper Voice!"
Harmony's Hyper Voice began to activate, and her entire body was cloaked in white energy - an abnormality for Hyper Voice. Suddenly, the Togekiss let out an incredibly high-pitched note, releasing powerful sound waves through the entirety of the arena: bouncing off the walls, the floor, everything.

As Rapidash continued to struggle standing, Jaden heard Shade shout to him from across the battlefield. Shooting a glare at her, he was far more than just furious. His gaze was venomous, with a scowl that seemed ready to inject her with the same poison inside himself. Clenching his hands into fists, the man spat back at his opponent.

“I’m not here to have fun for me. I’m here so other people can have fun…”

Froslass had promptly shot off another attack, nailing Rapidash while it still struggled under the confusion. Looking over his Pokemon, the Trainer knew the fire horse wouldn’t last long if it couldn’t snap out of its dazed state.

“Rapidash! I know you can get up! Keep fighting!”

Calling with the first bit of genuine emotion this battle, Jaden expressed both concern and encouragement, hoping his partner would be able to push past the Confuse Ray. Struggling immensely, the Pokemon somehow managed to find the strength to stand again. The combination attack seemed to have dealt a fair amount of damage, but also helped snap it out of confusion. Now that it was back up, Rapidash looked angry, and ready for a strong counter attack.

“Alright, time to put your Froslass in timeout”

Understanding the cue, Rapidash emitted up several flaming vortexes. Releasing the fire, the vortexes headed in different directions at Froslass, in order to cut off its chance to escape. While the vortexes headed towards the ghost, Rapidash also galloped quickly to close off an additional path of escape.

“Now! Hypnosis!”

Once it had closed the gap enough, hypnotic rays began pulsing from Rapidash’s horn, as it continued to gallop forward. With coming in from every direction, plus the Hypnosis, something had to hit from this. At the very least, Shade’s Froslass might get put to sleep, but with some luck, it could also take some damage from the incoming Fire Spin assault.

The Hyper Voice attack slammed into Tethys, pushing her back. The Milotic looked quite woozy. Even though she had just healed herself, that attack had taken a lot out of her. It was clear that Tethys was tired from the fighting and wouldn't last much longer against the fresh and ready to fight Togekiss. But that didn't mean that they couldn't leave Talia's Togekiss with a little... gift. The Milotic looked back at her trainer, and the two shared a knowing look.
"Tethys... Hydro Pump." The Marine Knight commanded. Tethys began to slither back towards the Togekiss, trying to move in an unpredictable fashion. On thinking it was close enough, it fired a Hydro Pump attack directly from it's mouth towards the flying fairy type. But this attack wasn't aimed directly at the Togekiss. It was more aimed to the up and the left. In actuality, the Hydro Pump was just to distract the Togekiss. The real attack was from Tethys' tail, another Toxic attack launched at the Togekiss. It was a classic sleight-of-hand manuever, attempting to distract an opponent with one hand while the real trick is in the other.

Kaiju was sent flying into the wall of the arena from the attack, fainting almost instantly. Acacia returned his Dragonite then grabbed the pokeball for his final Pokémon. “Omi you’re up!” He shouted as he threw the dive ball containing his Blastoise. “Water pulse!” Two blue spheres formed at the end of each cannon before they were launched at the Empoleon.

The Togekiss was momentarily fooled, before seeing the Toxic flying towards her. There was no time to dodge, as the poisonous attack hit in full force, immediately poisoning Harmony.
Talia noted this, quickly coming up with a plan in her mind. "Harmony, finish this! Aura Sphere, now!"
Harmony put her wings forward, forming a glowing blue sphere between them. She then flung it forward, before Talia's next command.
"Air Slash!"
With speed, Harmony sent several slashes through the air, cutting through the Aura Sphere. The attack was now split into several parts, bouncing around and closing in on the Milotic.

Tethys attempted to dodge out of the way of the Aura Sphere attack, but it was no use. The multiple fighting-type energies slammed into the Milotic from all sides, dealing the finishing blow to the Sea Serpent Pokemon. Letting out a cry, Tethys feel to the ground with a thud. The Water-Type was completely unconscious. The Marine Knight recalled Tethys back to her Pokeball, glaring at Talia as he drew a Great Ball from his belt. On the inside, he was very, very proud of his Milotic. Their Toxic strat had worked, and she had even managed to badly poison the Togekiss before she got knocked out. He wouldn't let her sacrifice be in vain. Twirling his trident again, the Marine Knight pointed it up at the sky.
"Courage, show them your strength!" The Marine Knight called out. At the same time, a Braviary burst out of a Pokeball from behind the Marine Knight, screeching dramatically and spreading it's wings. It took off to the skies, glaring down at the Togekiss. It was a very showy reveal in his Pokemon, and on the inside, Shiori was reveling in it. He was a little disappointed by Talia, however. For a performer and a musician, she sure battled, well... plainly.

"Courage! Double Team, then Rock Slide!" The Marine Knight commanded. He knew Double Team wouldn't be much help against a move like Aura Sphere, but at the very least it would be able to help Courage Dodge other moves. The Braviary began vibrating rapidly in the sky, and suddenly instead of one Braviary there were three! Courage let out another cry, and a purplish-glow appeared around the Braviary. A ton of large rocks and boulders appeared above the Togekiss. There seemed many more rocks and boulders than a normal Rock Slide technique, and each were coated in a translucent purple energy. It almost seemed like all three Braviarys were using Rock Slide at the same time!

In reality, it was just Courage. The reason for the attack looking so powerful was because of it's ability, Sheer Force, and it's held item, a Life Orb. Sheer Force boosted the power of certain techniques, such as Rock Slide. The down side was, this Rock Slide had no chance at all of making an opponent flinch. Not that Courage cared. The Life Orb boosted the attack as well, but instead of damaging Courage like a Life Orb would normally do, Courage's Sheer Force prevented that from occuring.

"Fairy Wind, then Air Slash!"
Harmony launched airborne, forming an enchanting wind of pink and purple sparkles. This kept the rocks in the air, giving Harmony the time to use Air Slash. With the rocks already weakened by the Fairy-type attack, the Air Slash cut through like a knife, slashing the rocks into showers of tiny iridescent sparkles. A few rocks remained, which Talia used to her advantage.
"Leap off the rocks and use Aerial Ace!"
This was almost purely stylistic, but provided an extra edge - it allowed the Jubilee Pokemon something to push off of, providing power to the otherwise fairly normal Flying-type move. Cloaked in a white light, Harmony did as commanded. The purple aura on the rocks created tiny bursts of purple light when Harmony bounced off them, and when she got to the top, she hurtled like a bullet towards Courage.

The Togekiss slammed into Courage with her Aerial Ace attack. Of course, another move that always hit. But close fighting was Courage's realm of expertise! The Braviary seemed to smirk at the Togekiss. It easily shook of the Aerial Ace attack, and without even waiting for a command from his trainer lunged out with lighting speed and attempted to grab the Togekiss in his talons with a Crush Claw attack. Once again, Courage was powered up by his Sheer Force and Life Orb, and once again he took no damage from the Life Orb.

"Courage, Rock Slide again!" The Marine Knight commanded. Boulders once again appeared in the air, and Courage attempted to keep a tight grip on the Togekiss so it wouldn't be able to dodge away from the Rock Slide attack. The superpowered Rock Slide raced down towards the Togekiss.

“Block it with surf” Nero raised his arms rapidly as a colossal wave formed in front of him, the first pulse hitting the wave and exploding in a huge plume of water vapor. The second pulse however pierced through the wave entirely forcing Nero to dive out of the way of the attack, narrowly avoiding the majority of the attack. Though an edge of he pulse did scrape across his back leaving an inflamed line along Nero’s spine.
“Rockslide then drill peck!” Yelled Hyoga as Nero launched a barrage of rocks toward Omi before rocketing off the ground and joining the barrage, using the multitude of rocks to cover his own assault and prevent himself from being an easy target

“Skull bash!” Omi shrunk in height as he retreated into his shell, allowing him to take the hits from rockslide with minimal damage. As Nero sailed over the lowered Blastoise, he slammed his feet into the ground, causing small craters to he formed, and launched himself at the stomach of the Empoleon.

The attack hit Nero square in the chest launching him backward, the empoleon landing on his feet despite the impact.
“Swords Dance then Earthquake!” Nero begin to glow with an intense blue energy before pounding his feet into the field repeatedly and sending shockwaves rippling in all directions

Omi took damage as he absorbed a bit of the shock before Acacia came up with an idea. “Water Pulse at the ground!” The Blastoise jumped and launched spheres of water at the ground, creating a muddy mess that heavily dampened the severity of the shockwaves. “Alright now Hydro Pump!” The Blastoise fell forwards, planting both of its arms in the ground for extra support before shooting the powerful blasts of water from each cannon.

The muddy mess of the field meant Nero had no chance to dodge the high pressure water, his feet firmly stuck in place instead he dove forward spinning rapidly with drill peck to free himself from the mud, though he ended up diving directly into the hydro pump the drill peck mitigating very little of the high powered blast.
“Avalanche!” Hyoga yelled as Nero was blasted out of the water stream, regaining his feet slowly on firmer ground the Empoleon let loose an icy onslaught which covered the field in a thick stodgy mess of mud and wet snow.

Now, Yuki was in trouble.

Shade raised an eyebrow at the man in front of her. He didn't seem like the guy on the bleachers she was talking with as if they were best friends. Her silly, almost gruesome side, seemed to vanish as she adopted a more serious tone, thought a hint of a smirk could be seen. Yelling out to the other end again, she replied. "Then what's the point of the battle? You are fighting me, they aren't. These are your decisions, your Pokemon, your consequences. Whether you are fighting for them is irrelevant, as this is your fight just as much as it is their's, since you are making it about them."

Looking at her Yuki, she noticed the horse had pinned her. Sighing, she knew Yuki wouldn't be able to get out of this mess.

"Water Pulse," she commanded, to which Yuki released a blast of pulsating water from her hands towards one of the fiery vortexes for herself just long enough to escape through. However, a Hypnosis hit. She flew through the opening she made, but she landed on the ground, fast asleep. The bits of fire had licked her as she passed through, as she wasn't fast enough due to the sleepiness. Now she was a sitting duck.

"Yuki! Wake up!" Shade yelled in desperation, but knew it was too late. No movement, no response, except for the light snoring of her Froslass.

Shade looked up to Jaden, awaiting what he would do. She had taken advantage of Jaden's Rapidash as it was down, she had no doubt Jaden would do the same to Yuki. She just waited with anticipation, but this gave her a chance to think.

Jaden is obviously angry, but why? He was fighting for someone obviously, but he's not making it any better for himself. Was it because she took the battle too light-heartedly and he took that as an insult? Whatever the case may be, she decided to yell back.

"If you can't have fun in a battle, what's the point of doing this for other people? They would be more concerned for the fact that you are hurting yourself than your tactics in the heat of the battle or a possible win."

“JUST SHUT UP!”

Jaden yelled at the top of his lungs, the scream surprising the crowd and causing the cheering to die down a bit in the stadium. Gritting his teeth, he had heard enough from Shade to push him to his limit.

“YOU ACT LIKE YOU KNOW ME! LIKE YOU KNOW WHO I’M FIGHTING FOR! YOU DON’T KNOW A DAMN THING!”

Grabbing his jacket, he pulled the chest area of it back to show the inside of it. While from a distance it could be hard to tell how many exactly, one could easily make out the numerous objects that lined it. They weren’t gym badges, but symbols that represented just as much weight as one.

“You see these?...Each item belongs to someone...Someone who couldn’t finish their journey. Someone who didn’t see a full life. These people lost their chance at fulfilling their dreams…”

He took a pause, as his anger was shifting from pure rage to a more emotionally driven one. Something that had been bubbling within him for a long time.

“I made the choice to continue adventuring, battling, and meeting people, for them. Because I learned long ago...that battling isn’t fun. There’s a winner and loser, and despite trying to remain friends, the winner always ends someone’s dreams. So if I wanted to fulfill all their dreams...I had to end the dreams of just as many Trainers looking to aim for the top. Even if it means doing something I hate, I refuse to let any of these people be forgotten! Even if it destroys me, I’m prepared to fight to the end to keep their memories alive!”

Shifting back to the battle, he had said enough, and it was time for him to retaliate in kind, from the Confuse Ray having left his Pokemon vulnerable.

“Rapidash! Use Sparking Nova Crash!”

Much like the first attack they had gone for, Rapidash began charging towards Froslass quickly. Unlike before however, this was more than a simple Flare Blitz. Fire bellowed around the creature as it galloped, and as the flames grew hotter, sparks of electricity had begun to form as well. It was a combination attack of Flare Blitz and Wild Charge, which would do an insane amount of recoil, but if it landed would cause serious damage to Shade’s Pokemon.

"Not so fast! Psychic!"
Harmony released a powerful cry, and the rocks were surrounded by the signature pale pink aura of Psychic. The Crush Grip was still doing damage, however.
"Do it now!"
Returning Courage's smirk, Harmony opened her mouth. Suddenly, a Flamethrower attack materialized in front of her, and at such close range, would nearly be impossible to dodge.

If the yelling was any closer or if she wasn't so used to butting heads with others, she would have flinched or winced or did something to show she was affected by it. But no, she wasn't. Now, her expression was cold and calculating. She needed to do something. But, she did know of one thing: he was here to fulfill the dreams of those who couldn't, to give glory to those who were unable to. She was right.

After he had calmed down a bit, she closed her eyes, her body looking unnaturally relaxed. The only tension that could be seen would be in her legs, since they were the things keeping her up. She was changing mindsets. She decided to keep silent, so as to not provoke him. But she had to say something about how wrong he was.

"I knew you were doing this for those who died and were unable to live to fulfill their dreams, but I thought you were only doing this for one. You have mistaken me and act like I insulted you. I cared because I have seen your kind before: They destroy themselves for the benefit of the dead. I admire your selflessness, but you are hurting yourself like a martyr, causing depression upon yourself. Battling is fun, as it is a way of joining people together to show their skills and to potentially learn off of each other. And if the winner ends someone else's dreams, then you must have seen the wrong kinds of people. The people I defeat I keep an eye on and stay connected with to help them whenever they need it."

Opening her eyes, her eyes held a kind of icy fire, intense as a look of a cunning Zoroark. It was time to show why she was one of the strongest in her family.

Luckily, Jaden was talking and that gave Yuki some time to wake up. But she laid there, motionless still, making sure her opponent thought she was asleep.

Shade noticed the Wild Charge and Flare Blitz combination. If she's lucky, the horse will get knocked out if this hits. Time to sacrifice. Yuki looked over to see Shade was not having this. Nodding and understanding what must be done, she quickly got up and used a combination of Water Pulse and Shadow Ball. Creating a pulsating blast of water, she also hurled a shadow blob of ghostly energy. Because this was practically point blank range at this time, she also got hit by the Rapidash's attack, getting knocked back. Due to her frail body, she landed on the ground, unconscious.

Shade stared forward at Jaden, watching his every move, his every physical nuance of emotion. She didn't flinch or react when Yuki was defeated. Her Pokemon knew that sacrifices in a battle must be made to make a point. And Yuki was willing to help in giving that point, hence letting the attack hit her.

Courage let out a screech as the Flamethrower attack hit him point blank, but still managed to keep his Crush Claw grip on the Togekiss. If anything, the pain from the Flamethrower had the Braviary dig it's talons harder into the Togekiss, to fight the pain. That attack looked like it had dealt a lot of damage.
"Courage! Sky Drop her into the Rock Slide!" The Marine Knight commanded. With a powerful flap of his wings, Courage shot up towards the closest boulder from the Rock Slide attack, the Togekiss in tow. It's body glowed with energy from the Life Orb powering him up, making him stronger, but this time Courage winced in pain as it seemed to sap away some of his energy. The Braviary attempted to slam the Togekiss into one of the boulders held up by Harmony's Psychic.

Pretending to ignore what his opponent said, Jaden stayed focused on the fight. At the last minute, he noticed the Froslass get up just before the impact of Rapidash’s combo attack. It had to have gotten off an attack, because shortly after, dust kicked up from the result of the two opposing forces. Gritting his teeth, the man expected Rapidash to go down, but hoped the loss wouldn’t be for nothing. When the dust settled, Froslass had been knocked back from the combo attack, thankfully defeated.

His own Pokemon however had also been blasted back, and while it had managed to struggle to stay on its feet, the massive recoil as well as the last minute attack was too much for the horse. Losing the strength in its legs, it fell to the ground exhausted and unconscious mere moments after its opponent. Mirroring Shade’s expression, he didn’t react as Rapidash fainted and was recalled to their Pokeball.

Good job Rapidash, rest up. You gave it your all. Now...we’ll make use of what’s left of that Sunny Day…

Taking a moment however, he finally decided to address Shade’s words. Some of the rage had left him, but a cold piercing stare remained to match her own intense gaze.

“Like I said, I don’t care what happens to me out of it. I’ve made the choice to carry this burden, no matter the cost, and not a single person out there is gonna change that…”

Pausing for a second, he clenched his right hand into a fist, then brought it back and extended it like a punching motion.

“I’ve also seen your kind before. You say that you’re there to help your friends when they need you, and keep an eye out for them. You’re all buddy buddy face to face, but after a few months apart, you practically forget who they are. Friendships don’t last forever...At the end of the day, your Pokemon and your ideals are all you can count on.”

Grabbing a different Pokeball from his belt, Jaden sent out his second party member first. The ball hit the ground, popping open with the familiar bright light, and from it revealed a big bulky Tangrowth. It moved back and forth energetically, its viney arms gently slapping against its sides, giving the impression of a sumo wrestler almost.

“So who’s up next? Let’s keep the battle moving and get it over with”

Shade raised an eyebrow and smiled again as she returned Yuki in a flash of light before revealing her own Pokemon: a Bisharp. The Bisharp stood imposingly, his body relaxed but rigid and his arms crossing his chest in an X form.

Shade couldn't help but chuckle though, as he was clearly adamant on thinking her as evil for some reason. She just shook her head before her chuckling became a louder giggle. The presence of a Dark-Type in front of her wasn't helping matters much due to her connection with them. Her demeanor seemed to change due to this and she started clicking with her mouth while she wiggling a finger at Jaden.

"Then you have judged me without getting to know me. You are the people you seem to despise. Here, let me prove to you my devotion to others by defeating you!"

Kiriki the Bisharp stood as still as a statue, waiting for the right time to strike. Something seemed to glow on his arms as he was waiting.

Taking note of the glow on Bisharp’s arms after it had been released, Jaden didn’t intend to wait around and see what it planned to do. Besides, he had said enough, and heard enough. It was time Tangrowth and him showed their strength, to demonstrate that whatever point Shade planned to try and make was moot.

“Tangrowth, hit em where it hurts”

More than eager to get things going, the big ball of vines and tangle quickly charged up a ball of energy above its head. With the sunlight increasing its speed from Chlorophyll, the normally bulky Pokemon could move much faster now. Taking full advantage of the time it had with the weather up, Tangrowth released a Focus Blast, arcing it at an angle. While the attack could still be avoided if Bisharp responded in time, the blast of energy arcing would definitely make it harder to read the attack, than if it were a straight shot.

The lifelessness once again returned to the man’s eyes. Blank like before, they resembled endless voids. Despite saying what he did, about doing anything to not let the people he was fighting for be forgotten, his eyes told another story. It was the blank look of a man who just wanted things to be over. Someone who had lost the will to go on, and was now clinging to an imprisoning goal, because it was all they had left. Fighting for those people, was in reality, all Jaden felt he had left.

If Kiriki had a mouth showing, he'd be grimacing and smirking at the same time. This was going to hurt. The Focus Blast hit dead center of the crossed arms and he was sent back a couple of inches as the ball then turned into a ball of metallic energy that grew double the size than the Focus Blast. The Metal Burst attack was then expelled with a quick fling of both arms heading outwards, and the ball headed straight towards the Tangrowth at amazing speed. But this damaged the Dark/Steel-Type considerably and he was already heaving a little from the attack. Time to show how acrobatic he was. As the Metal Burst was making it's way, he danced about with his Swords Dance to sharpen his blades against his metal body.

Shade noticed the life leave his eyes once again. It wad curious, but she thought that maybe he wanted the battle to be over quickly. He was hurting himself mentally and emotionally, and he didn't know it. Well, time to give him a long, annoying battle.

With the Metal Burst incoming, Jaden quickly eyed the sky. The sunlight was still going from Sunny Day, but it was beginning to dim. As he reached the conclusion that happened in his mind, the Metal Burst hit Tangrowth hard, even trying to avoid it with boosted speed. Giving a loud groan, Tangrowth’s defenses were thankfully beefy to take the return damage about as well as Bisharp took the Focus Blast. While the Swords Dance was going to be dangerous, Jaden actually had a crooked smile work its way to his face.

Got ya…

“Tangrowth, shake things up, then take that Swords Dance boost!”

Flexing its foliaged arms, the Pokemon unleashed a powerful Earthquake attack. As the Earthquake went off, looking to slow Bisharp down and get in some damage, a psychic aura also radiated off Tangrowth as it honed in on its opponent. The Psych Up it had initiated copied the effect of Swords Dance, boosting Tangrowth’s attack as well. Now it would be able to hit hard on both fronts, making any next attack from it a major threat.

For a moment as he flashed that crooked smile, a little bit of light filled Jaden’s eyes. While everything was twisted from its original intentions, that faint little light showed he still somewhere deep down inside, enjoyed something about battling. In spite of the anger, sadness, and desperation, he was...having fun?

Yeah right, I’m just feeling this because I’m gonna put her in her place...None of this is fun...None of it...

Shade was starting to lose her cool a bit as she just saw the corner her poor Pokemon was being situated in. Psych Up? Goodness, his Pokemon had all kinds of tricks, didn't they? She looked to see Jaden enjoying himself. That's it! This is fun! Keep having fun, my friend!

Kiriki, with his Swords Dance, jumped around acrobatically towards Tangrowth to avoid the Earthquake, but was too busy to see the Psych Up boost. His blades glowed a light green and he focused his blades so much that they elongated. He then attempted to slice the Tangrowth to pieces with Fury Cutter while hopping about, hoping to hit at least a couple times before switching to a different tactic.
