Open Pokemon Infinity Academy!

I'll be gone for awhile, so sadly, my character won't be able to introduce herself as a professor. Although, I'll add another character, who was being tutored by Shade herself for awhile, but then needed to go to this school. It was recommended.

Name: (obviously) Xavier Nebula
Gender: Male
Age:16
Pokemon: (I just realized tyranitar can't be a thing because pseudo-legendaries aren't allowed)
Dream Team:
Aggron
Haxorus
Staraptor
Magmortar
Breloom
Whiscash
Current Team:
Magby
Starly
Appearance: He has dirty blonde hair (like my avatar) and pale skin. He wears a black T-Shirt below his galaxy hoodie and black jeans. Xavier likes to have a black bandanna on his mouth as well as black sneakers. He has heterochromia so he one of his eyes are red while one is blue.
Personality: Quiet, strategizing, normal, kind, friendly, average.

One last thing before we start, does anyone have questions?

Yeaa... What's the limit of the moves? Is it going to follow anime or game mechanics (well still in a realistic setting, but yea XD)? Can we have mega evolutions, just as long as they're alright with the admins? What's your stand on romance and violence? All this kind of needs to be needed XD

Also, I asked Elsydeon if I could have one of my Pokemon (namely Gengar) be able to mega evolve. Also, should we include Battle Bond here? My Greninja won't use it, but I just wanted to make sure. You also need an admin's permission to grant the use of Battle Bond in this particular RP, but ya know XD

Here's my child bio:
Name: Sean McLoughlin
Ethnicity: Irish/British
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Pokemon: Rowlet (Male, Cider), Eevee (Male, Joltz)
Appearance: He has brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a green jacket with yellow on the cuffs and seams with a camo undershirt. He has darker green pants and dark yellow tennis shoes. He is 5' 04" (1.6 m) and weighs 130 lbs (58.9 kg). His complexion is extremely pale with fair skin to top it off. He has a piercing on his ears and nose and is gay.
Personality: He is shy around people he doesn't know, but boisterous and adventurous when with friends. He finds Grass and Electric Type Pokemon calming and fun to be with, so he wants to specialize in those types. He can be a bit paranoid, however...
Bio: He wants to be a gym leader, so he found Shade when looking for a tutor to teach him about Pokemon and Battling Strategies. Shade decided that he was ready to learn more, so he registered him as a student at the school she is currently working at. His parents didn't want anything to do with him after he left on his journey, so he'll be staying with Shade. He doesn't trust being alone.

No pseudo legendaries but your allowing a metagross?

I was hoping an exception was being made due to the fact the rest of my team consists of Pokemon considered not as strong as uber tier Pokemon such as Greninja and Aigeslash...Or at least that was why I assumed the Metagross was being allowed.

Here are the list of pseudo-legendaries, according to the admins and bulbapedia:
Dratini line
Larvitar line
Bagon line
Beldum line
Gible line
Deino line
Goomy line
Aaaand Jangmo-o line

@CosmicDreams
If you're allowing him to have a Beldum as his starting Pokemon from making his team better or something along those lines, then you'll have to make that same exception for everyone else. That would mean if nobody is going to have an Ubers Pokemon on their team, then allow them to have a pseudo-legendary (if that was the reason). If not, then don't forget that the Beldum line are pseudo-legendaries, so this character in question would either not have a Beldum at all, or catch one later in the RP, if that's okay with you.

Hopefully, I don't come across as mini-modding, just trying to clear things up a bit.

I would suggest catching a Pseudo-legendary later, when your character has had enough experience, and make it difficult still. These are creatures with more power than the average Pokemon, so they wouldn't just walk into your poke ball after you charm it with your eyes, or weaken it in a battle. Show them trust and respect first, and maybe they'll consider being a part of your team.

Now, if your PL (too lazy to keep typing Pseudo-Legendaries) was given to you by a mentor or parental figure, that's a different story. They could be just as wild or a little more mild-mannered, but don't go to heaven, hell, and back with that thing XD show a bit of character development.

Its base stat total is the same with the others, its attack is the same as Salamence's, and more. It is classified as one because of what this article says. And Bulbapedia is reputable.

Well I'm not arguing with that but if we're having a much realistic approach in this rp then the stats won't matter since the Pokémon will be raise according to the trainer but ehhh. I'll just leave it to you guys.

That's the baseline of their power, so that's technically the lowest it can be naturally XD stats are basically its part in a battle. The Attack being on par with Salamence's means its attacks' strengths will hit, on average, the same as the others' attacks. Yes, Natures, Characteristics, EVs, and IVs are a thing, but it's still going to be similar at best.

Well, i shouldn't say baseline power as it is baseline potential. Naturally. Which means that stat will grow more the higher it is. Of course, stats are only a guideline in something realistic as this.

It's what you should expect.

I have to say I think that disallowing pseudo legendaries is reasonable under most circumstances as of course they are very powerful but in this case other things should probably be considered. Neither myself or the guy with the Metagross (sorry I forgot your name) have teams riddled with power, in fact the majority of my team sit under OU. If you then consider that Metagross and Tyranitar aren't in Uber and I think Metagross might even be UU? Well they just aren't deserving of the overpowered reputation. A Metagross is no more powerful than a Magmortar for example, especially in terms of the anime.

Of course I am a little biased in this debate as I would like to use the Tyranitar but I can change it if need be.

Yea, anime XD but back when B/W were still a thing, it was king of the Ubers XD now it's UU

But seriously, a level 5 Pidgey could beat a level 30 Gigalith, depending on the trainer. Levels are just an expression on how much experience the Pokemon has at battling.

Well why dwell on the past? Alakazam would have been an uber in gen 1, nobody thinks about that now do they? If anything I'm arguing for the sake of the Beldum now as I kinda feel like a douche for dragging him into it. I'll swap my Tyranitar if the thread creator asks me to.

Yea, my post was aimed toward him, but forgot to tag him :/ yup, that's a good idea XD

There, did it :)

Besides, i was just stating the fact it was in Ubers, and if Game Freak didnt nerf him, he'd still be a danger, but that's all game mechanics, and we have no idea what mechanics this RP thread will contain

Also, if the thread creator says it's okay, and the reasoning behind your character and PL sounds right, then you can keep it. If it doesn't sound right, but you still want your Tyranitar, then maybe catch it as a Larvitar later, find a Larvitar egg, or have it as a starting Pokemon, if that's alright with you. If no on any of these, then editing might need to happen :/ i kinda dont want that

Wait is the rp ready yet or not? Cause I'm not really on for the last 5 hours or so.

School sucks....

And what's the big deal with Battle Bond Greninja. Nothing change except its appearance and probably stats.

Yeah there's no pseudos like metagross or T tar allowed end of story. Nothing new this was decided pretty much first post. I have my characters ready to be posted when I get on my pc and also start the thread. Which will be in like 8 hours cuz school

@Zman890 @PKEmerald metagross is a pseudo also zman are you a student with that team? And newt is that your beginning team or are you staff? Cuz your character can be staff
I guess I could make Flint staff, a new teacher at the school and all that. He would probably specialise in teaching about the more adventurous side of being a trainer but he could definitely still teach battling.

Name: Neil Graves
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Pokémon: (Final Team: Flip the Aipom, Bobby the Bagon, Web the Golduck, Kage the Shiftry)
He will start with Flip. As a note too, I have a Bagon, but he will stay a Bagon and won't evolve considering the tons of work it requires to get a Bagon to evolve, and the overpowered aspect of Salamence would disagree with my character. Of course I can change it upon request fo=rom @CosmicDreams. Also, the Pokémon are listened in the order Neil will get them.
Appearance: Neil has thick sandy blonde hair, that is cut to a medium length. His eyes are a steely grey, and his nose is upwards pointed. He wears a pair of thick black glasses, which have been mistaken as BlackGlasses before. He normally wears short sleeve polo shirts, along with jeans for his attire. The majority of them have horizontal striped and a pocket over the left pectoral. His backpack whips he seems to have with him at all times is a black backpack, with two back straps. His drawing notebook is a thick black notebook.
Personality: Neil is a boy who loves to draw and write, often secluding himself into his own world. This makes him somewhat shy and nervous. However if you take the time to get to know him, past the general shyness he is a thoughtful boy who loves to care for Pokémon. In his free time he spends time studying, writing, drawing, and doing a bit of training. He has a fear of Zangoose, due to a past experience with a wild one. He also gets a bit of a stutter when nervous or scared.
Bio: Neil was born in raised in Ecutreak City with his mother and father. It was a peaceful life, and on his 10th birthday his father gifted him with a Pokeball. Inside was a Aipom, which is now his partner. However after the turned 11, the two were coming home late one night, when Neil was attacked by a Zangoose. He was unscathed but extremely shaken up. The locals didn't;t believe him, as Zangoose aren't native to the Johor region. Later, Neil decided to leave for the academy.

And what's the big deal with Battle Bond Greninja. Nothing change except its appearance and probably stats.
Well you have to remember that it is an equivalent to Mega evolution but for Pokémon who are incapable of Mega Evolving themselves, (as seen when Ash-Grenina took on tons of Megas). So in theory a student wouldn't have that kind of power. It's not just simply with the happiness maxed out. There are other factors, like setting actually having the ability and other unknown factors. The fact we only know of one trainer who has done Battle Bond (and is somewhat Mary Sueish looking at his mannerisms,) the whole concept of Battle Bond is a grey area. I wouldn't think a bunch of students would figure out the secret.

Yeah, if we're being realistic here. That still doesn't change the fact that Ash is the only one who can make it look so cool. And that there can only be ONE Battle Bond Greninja at least theoretically speaking in the anime and that Greninja is still Ash-Greninja.

@CosmicDreams, what mechanics should be allowed in the rp? What's the limit on moves? Are Mega Evolutions still a thing? How much violence and romance can we include? My character's approved to use Gengar, but i need to make sure it's okay to be used here.

All my character will be using the mega for is teaching about Mega Evolution and protecting the school.

Sure as long as you have permission. Also you can use you mega as you please. Violence and romance well... i believed i answered romance in the rules. Violence is the same as pokecharms rules and a pokemon can technically have every move in their rulepool, but i trust you guys enough that you won't abuse this.
