Pokemon Delta Emerald Trademarked

Sorry if anyone already posted this, but I couldn't find a thread so I thought I'd show this myself. Anyway, I saw on Serebii again that Game Freak has also trademarked the name Delta Emerald. I tried to find other sources to validate this statement and from what I've found it seems to be true:

This could mean that we'll get a third Hoenn/Gen III remake, which would explain why OR/AS are being released this early

I'd assume, like Peter said, that they've trademarked it so that they can say it's theirs rather than because they're doing anything with it.

Delta Emerald doesn't have as nice a ring to it as the Ruby/Sapphire remake titles do anyway. :)

I quite like the name Delta Emerald myself, I think it fits nicely xD It probably is just them covering themselves 'just in case', but it's interesting none-the-less :)

Sadly the word delta sounds goofy next to heavy hitters like alpha and omega. Also is it just me or the Rayquaza in the article has a hilarious look on his face?

As Aitor pointed out, it would be rather odd to remake the 3rd of a series after not doing it over the last remakes.

The delta symbol is also used to mean change in math and science (as in the formula Q=mcΔT where ΔT means change in temperature) so there's that I guess? Honestly though, while interesting it's highly unlikely they'll actually make "Delta Emerald" because of precedent. But hey, Nintendo and Game Freak surprise us all the time~

But why not Lambda Emerald or Sigma Emerald or any other greek letter Emerald :<

I'd like to see an emerald remake just for its superior plot, but I'm also hoping that emerald's various improvements will be incorporated into ORAS similar to how crystal's improvements were a part of HGSS.

Probably just trademark squatting. I still wish pokemon gray had been a thing, haha.
