Platinum and D/P differences

Hi, Pokemon platinum is going to be realesed this friday (the 22nd of may) in europe and I was going to buy it. so I was wondering if anyone who already owns the game can tell me some of the differences between platinum and D/P. (besides giritina's new form).
one of my biggest questions of all is, on the nintendo channel on the nintendo wii I watched the trailer for pokemon platinum and during a battle the person was wearing a blue jacket, but the sprite had a red one, is there a way to customise your character on this game? any answers would be appreciated, but any differences what so ever please tell me,
