Yes, I'm aware it's the same image as last update's But In Higher Res, But it's a great bit of art and I flipping love the chimeric cockatoo, mmkay?

So, along came October 14th and with it a new trailer and a wealth of new information. Some of it confirms what we've learned from Corocoro, and other information still is brand new.

Silvally_RGB_300dpi.png
Type: Null's evolution, known as Silvadi in Japanese, is known as Silvally in English for completely inexplicable reasons. Much like its pre-evolution, it is classified as the Synthetic Pokémon and its basic type is [type]Normal[/type]. Its signature attack is still called Multi-Attack, but its unique ability received a name change and it is now known as System RKS (because obviously, 'System AR' wasn't obvious enough an Arceus reference and propagating the godawful mispronounciation TPCi decided was how Arceus should be pronounced was so important). It also confirms that the items that allow Silvally to change its type are indeed individual items for each type, just like the Plates they are blatantly emulating, and when Silvally holds them, its head-crest, tail and what is presumably the system itself on its ear change color. Again, like the great divine goat-llama it was created to emulate.

Hakamo-o_RGB_300dpi.png Kommo-o_RGB_300dpi.png
Jangmo-o's evolutions are now known in English as Hakamo-o and Kommo-o. Both have the species name of the Scaly Pokémon and, as previously reported, are [type]dragon[/type]/[type]fighting[/type]. As with their pre-evolutions, they have Bulletproof/Soundproof for abilities. Kommo-o has its own signature move, Jangling Scales, which deals damage at the cost of lowering its defense stat.

But not all in this update was revealed by Corocoro - Some Pokémon we've already met also received new evolutions!

Steenee_RGB_300dpi.png Tsareena_RGB_300dpi.png
One of these was Bounsweet - which evolves not once but twice - first into Steenee and then into Tsareena. Both are pure [type]Grass[/type]-types and classified as the Fruit Pokémon. Steenee retains Leaf Guard or Oblivious as its abilities - but Oblivious Steenee acquire a new ability upon evolution. That ability, Queenly Majesty, prevents the opponent from using increased priority moves. Tsareena also learns a new signature move, Trop Kick (ye gods, the pun), which deals damage and reduces the opponent's attack stat.

Ribombee_RGB_300dpi.png
Cutiefly, too, receives an evolution - Ribombee. Still the Bee Fly Pokemon, still [type]bug[/type]/[type]fairy[/type], still Honey Gather/Shield Dust. Plus, it is almost literally just a Cutiefly with a scarf and without a proboscis. Which is, as far as I'm personally concerned, a downgrade. But ah well. They can't all be winners.

AlolanGrimer_RGB_300dpi.png AlolanMuk_RGB_300dpi.png
Lastly, Alolan Grimer has been properly revealed - and with it, Alolan Muk! They are [type]poison[/type]/[type]dark[/type] and have the abilities Poison Touch or Gluttony. Apparently, Grimer were imported to Alola to eat garbage when the population of Alola increased, creating a difficulty in managing waste effectively. The 'stones' on their body are crystallized poisons and are very dangerous to touch - and Alolan Muk's gradient-slime-body actually alternates in colors, creating an oil-slick like effect.

In addition to these, two new human characters have also been introduced:

ilima.png
This truly fabulous individual - who was first revealed by Corocoro - is Ilima. He is a graduate of a trainer school and a specialist in the Normal-type. He is the first trial captain that you will meet.

olivia.png
And this lady is Olivia, the Kahuna of Akala Island, the second Island you will travel to as part of your island challenge. She specializes in the Rock-type and has apparently served as Kahuna since a young age - but she doesn't let it get to her head.

The trailer.
In addition, it has been indicated in the Japanese version of this trailer that Mega Kangaskhan's ability, Parental Bond, has received a significant nerf and now the second hit deals only 25% of the first hit's damage, rather than 50%.

And that is pretty much it for this update. We'll keep you posted if anything else of interest shows up. All I can say is - Sun and Moon are getting closer and closer to release, and the hype is beyond real.

Dude Olivia and Ilima are really cool npc's and I'd totally date them both- I mean what

I'm in love with Ribombee, even if it is a downgrade (no it aint that fucking scarf is an UPGRADE and I will fight you for it). Kommo-o actually looks a lot better with higher-res artwork and I might consider training one... if Mimikyu wasnt immune to both of its types. Might still raise one for the hell of it~

Tsareena is truly bootilicious and i can see many people adding the "i see you baby" song to footage of her accordingly.

that being said, I'm loving the Queen Majesty ability, could make her a real game changer, if it wasn't for the pure grass type which i can see being a major letdown, although I'm glad they didn't cop-out and do grass/fairy or grass/poison for their typing.

Silvally is a stupid name 'nuff said

Aw yeah I can't wait to get my Discount Arceus off the Clearance Isle for only $5.99
RKS = Arceus ooo wordplay

Tsareena about to kill the competition with the Massive Legg™️

I love the names of the Jangmo-o line. They're so fun to say.
Jangmo-o
Hakamo-o
Kommo-o
Ahh I love it
Kommo-o also would be a great Gen 7 rep for Pokken
Ribombee improved an already adorable design
Too bad it probably won't be very useful unless it gets another evolution

Alolan Muk is so trippy in-game and it's so cool. Though I'm probably not gonna use it since there are other Pokemon i wanna try out

Olivia is such a good design. She looks so cool asdfghjk

Alolan Grimer/Muk are so cool! They're some of my favorite Gen 1 Pokemon, and so far my favorite Alolan form.

It's nice to see new evolutions since I was starting to wonder where all my 3 stage evos were, it seems like everyone opted for new forms this season instead.

I'm not letting my Cutiefly go to the snowy area until it evolves and puts its scarf on.

Out of all of the new pokémon so far, I personally think Steenee & Alolan Muk have to be my favorites, though Ribombee is a pretty close second. Also, is it just me, or does Queen Majesty sound exactly like Bruxish's ability Dazzling with just a different name?

I'm actually surprised that Olivia pretty much confirmed the Kahuna's will each be specializing in one pokémon type. Since we've seen Hala using Tapu-Koko in previous trailers, I thought it was suggesting they'd be using mixed teams, though I guess this mean he'll be Alola's Fighting type specialist.

If we do get a specialist for every type in Sun & Moon, I'm REALLY hoping we get a Dark type Trial Captain since they seem more like Alola's equivalent the Gym Leaders while the Kahunas are the equivalent to the Elite Four.

Man there are so many cool Pokemon!...
I might have to get both games!
Sun Team: Rowlet, Komala, Minior, Grubbin, Pyukumuku
Moon Team: Bounsweet, Pikipek, Jangmo-o...
Saving my options...
Actually, I might switch Minior over to Moon depending on what the fossils are like!

Yeah it could. With priority moves being such a big deal (as they should be) it's nice to finally have a "proper" way to shut them down. I think this will indeed be a game-changer, provided Tsareena doesn't have poor stats. Straight grass typing isn't ideal, but if the stats are there it could work out nicely.

Kommo-o looks pretty boss. I loved dinosaurs as a kid and this one looks like it would be a blast to use. I loved Tyrantrum when gen 6 rolled around and I don't suspect Kommo-o will be a letdown.

I thought Grimer had a lot of derp factor when it was leaked in the last news thread, but Muk looks alright. If Grimer shows up early in the game I think I'll use it. Having the dark type will really help it out against those pesky psychic types. I always loved having the ability to (usually unexpectedly) counter opponents that have a type advantage and thus over-predict. Now I don't even have to worry about that with Muk. :)

I'm good with the scarf. I am NOT good with the loss of the proboscis and the beeflyesque cuteness. XP

Biggest mindblow of this reveal for me is that Arceus is pronounced Arkaeus and I've been doing it wrong since 2007; apparently they changed it from the japanese to avoid making the god of all pokemon be named ARSEus in english. lol

Upon review I kind of like the pun on "archaic" but the fanon about people saying "Oh my Arceus" is still dumb.

I also think that, based on its English name, Komo-o may have also been partly based on a Komodo dragon, though I'm not too sure since I don't think they're indigenous to Hawaii and even I think this sounds like a bit of a stretch

While I know that his has probably been brought up before, I think that giving Grimer and Muk Alolan forms further confirms that the common connection between the pokémon we've seen getting them so far (aside from them all being from Kanto) is that they're either ones that hardly anyone seemed to like &/or ones that are considered useless in competitive battles if you follow stuff such as the battle tiers on Smogon. Mega evolution did this too since they made Mawile and Kangaskhan powerhouses, but at the same time most of those pokémon were brushed aside in favor of ones such as Mega Blaziken, Mega Gengar, & Mega Salamence

All right! My opinion! XD This time I'm not ticked off, so here it is:
Bounsweet evos: OMG ITS MY FRIENDS AS POKEMON!!!
Ribombee: Sounds like Combee... But it's WAY cuter!
Alolan Muk: I don't care what they say, to quote from the great Adam Savage: "I reject your reality and substitute my own." NUUUUUUUUKES!!!
Ilima: I have two sets of lyrics: I'M SO FAB FAB FABULOUS and OH. MY. FEELS JUST LIKE I DON'T TRY. LOOK SO GOOD I MIGHT DIE. ALL I KNOW IS EVERYBODY LOVES ME!
HYYYYYYYYYPE!!!!!!!!!! <.><.><.><.><.><.><.><.>

Actually, Komodo Dragons aren't native to Hawaii, you hit that one right on the head, but they are native to another tropical island. Indonesia. I did a report on them in first grade, and they have been one of my favorite animals ever since. XD probably something to do with the poisonous saliva or tearing apart water buffalo. I have a very twisted mind.

Pokemon are starting to look weak

Pokemon are starting to look weak
I would like to know what you mean by that.
Silvally and RKS system. *major facepalm* Other than the fact that Silvally is an Arceus ripoff, it looks does cool (though I could argue with its name. Type: Null to Silvally. How does that work?). Most of the Pokemon that we've seen seem like you could find them at the start of the game, or are their evolutions. At the rate TPC is releasing things, I'm a bit worried they'll spill the whole Pokedex :/.

I really want Alolan Muk now. The thing it does with the colours... I was watching the trailer and then I saw it and I was like "wat?" but then they started changing. And those crystals

alola mum you are beautiful and let no one tell you other wise. We have the Queen of Plants too that is pretty cool. Ribombee nice scarf where can i get one? Jingle-jangle Kommo-o might have trouble sneaking up on you. Yes type: Null removes the mask and gets a less confusing name. Alola muk you are a wonderful colorful pile of sludge and you are beautiful. I am excited for sun and moon (no Sarcasm). Demo in four days

Ya know, people are crapping all over Silvally and that RKS business. Yeah, it's pretty much a Knock Off (see what I did there? :)) of Arceus. But who knows- perhaps Arceus itself will have a part to play in this game. We don't know much yet, and with Type: Null seemingly being tied to a specific NPC makes me think there's something more going on with Silvally within the plot. I'm not gonna criticize Silvally just yet.

Yeah, I see it too. I think it's a good thing, being that a lot of gen 1 Pokes are some of the biggest victims of power creep. I don't play by tiers (takes the fun out of it IMO) but it's nice to see older Pokes (potentially) becoming viable again for high-level play.
Demo in four days
Ah, I forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. :)

This game is getting better and better.
Every single trailer makes me impatient to hold the game in my hands and scream "ANOTHER BIG ADVENTURE IS ABOUT TO BEGIN"

Unless the trailers end up spoiling major plot points, in which case that would suck.

For a lot of things they made spoilers, but I didn't hate this fact.
It's about putting the hype on players to sell more because everyone thinks that generation after generation they are making the game worse...
Meanwhile I'm sincerely thinking that this game can (or it has already) surpass the other games of the entire Pokèmon series.

Did anyone else notice the Arceus-like protrusions on type null originally because if the overarching lore of the Pokémon world has anything to say it's that those protrusions are some the only vessels able to suppress the powers of mythical and ledendary Pokémon. I.e diagla and plakia being trapped using the red chains yhe anime and arceus' golden chain allowing for the use and control of its elemental powers using the 17 plates

Also @Teapot @StellarWind Elsydeon do we know if there are any more trailers before release since the demo comes out on Tuesday

We're almost certainly going to get a few more trailers before the game comes out, although we're probably looking at only a couple more drops of new things as the games are only a month away now. I'd assume a trailer will be released showcasing the demo on Tuesday, and NicoNico has a (Japanese) livestream of the game that same day, although they don't always show off anything new.

After that, the pattern suggests we'll have another drop near the start of November, then maybe some final tidbits before the games are out on the 18th/23rd. Who knows, though, TPCi like to surprise us... :)

Honestly, I already like gen 7 more than 6. I'm really diggin the alolan forms of all the gen 1 pokemon that have been known by now (muk is kind of weirdish looking but it grew on me) and the original pokemon for this region are also pretty good. (also this is late but I like how this gen brought something new and doesn't have gyms, it's not what I'd like to see in every game after this one of course, it just makes this gen stand out a bit (in a good way))

Hey people if you want to know Serena's team here's a prediction if she travels with Ash to the Alola she's gonna have:
Braixen
Pancham
Sylveon
Steenee as the last evolution is Tsareena which matches her name
Bruxish or Brianne though she could have two starters
Ribombee as a cute bug pokemon

I don't know who really cares about the anime anymore.
I mean, it has nothing that is present in the game, and the things are not in the game are mostly shit
