DPPt/HGSS Need backup team for Platinum

Discussion in 'The Doctor's Clinic' started by zezzyman, Jun 16, 2009.

  1. Okay, so I've finished my lv 100 main team already, but I have all these pokemon sitting around in my P.C. so I decided to make a second team on Platinum with them. Heres what I've got so far:

    Swampert@ Focus Band
    Surf
    Earthquake
    Stealh Rock
    Toxic

    Ambipom@ Muscle Band
    Double Hit
    Knock Off
    Swift
    Tickle

    Gengar@ Spell Tag
    Shadow Ball
    Thunderbolt
    Hypnosis
    Nightmare/Dream Eater

I haven't done any EV training yet so EV's would help too

  2. What's the purpose of this team; frontier or competitive?

Also, out of curiousity, why did you bother training guys to level 100???

  3. 1st question: Competitive
2nd question: I was bored and they were all already like lv. 68 or something

  4. It looks cooler in your boxes if you pokes are lv. 100.

Here's the Swampert build I have used.

    Swampert @ Chioce Band
    104 HP / 204 Atk / 100 Def / 100 Spe
    Earthquake
    Waterfall
    Avalanche
Stone Edge / Hammer Arm / Focus Punch

This build is pretty straight forward Waterfall over Surf because Swampert has a higher Atk stat than SpA. Earthquake for STAB and Ice coverage. Avalanche for Ground coverage and the last move is basically a hard hitting move.

What do you mean Earthquake is for Ice coverage? Ice Pokemon aren't weak against Ground type moves.

I think it's a cut and paste error :). I think it should say:

Rock and Fighting moves are both supereffective against Ice, so any of those three listed as the fourth move would do.
