Raiku started laughing at the task. "This is almost too simple, I don't think it can even be considered a challenge!" he said overconfidently with a large grin. Then he stopped smiling and did a couple of hand movements.

"Water Style: Liquid Bullets!"

Out of the mouth of Raiku, large condensed water bullet-like things got shot off it. This caused the hostage to be blasted by the water multiple times, doing enough knockback to get him to the circle with Point B. "What's next," Raiku said calmly.

Meanwhile, Hashima pretty much had the same idea. With a couple of hand movements, she muttered,"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough." The wind coming from her was strong enough to knock the hostage to the Point B circle.

Sagiso blanked, as she listened to the instructor her expression grew stranger and stranger and she couldn't help but cast the instructor a look that said, 'Are you kidding me?' The exam truly didn't sound that difficult to her, in fact, the way the proctor had explained it would imply that it was far too simple. 'If I picked up a stick and used it to push him from one circle to the other wouldn't the task be completed?' Was it really okay for tasks like this to be able to determine if she'd become a Chunin or not? Her brow furrowed in thought... 'it's a trap...' Could the first exam really be a task so simple that even a child could complete it? Of course not! It was obviously a trap!

The kunoichi bit her lip, observing the room, searching for clues. Her eyes immediately flew to the short distance between herself and circle B. 'Could one of the tiles be an activation mechanism for a pitfall?' If the hostage managed to fall into a hole mid-way through the transport process she'd really find herself in a pickle. She needed more information! Channeling a thread of chakra into her eyes she activated her Byakugan, and her gaze instantly flew to the other rooms to see how the other genin would handle the exam. 'Maybe...one of them will activate the hidden trap..?'

@kyuukestu:

..........

When the byakugan was activated, when trying to see into the other rooms one thing was noticed....there were no other rooms. A white dog abruptly halted just outside of the walls, and the floor seemed blurry aside of a particular path. Ibiki only smirked at this and shook his head.

“We thought ahead when creating this challenge, especially for the optical justu of the leaf, after all this is where this challenge was created. This exam has a special genjustu put on it to avoid cheating from the other tests, as well as other things....”

............

@Nebulix :

Upon each each bullet hitting, and sending the hostage toward the point, water splatted on the hostage and the droplets sprinkled to the floor, some drops seeming to phase through the floor in a couple of areas. The hostage safely crossed into point B, however teetering on something unknown.

......

The wind Hashima picked up easily thrust the hostage over to the point with no seen difficulty. Ibiki nodded his head as she did so, the hostage put square on the point, hashima didn’t even look like she needed to sweat.

Katsuo pondered for a moment as the instructions were given by Ibiki, a tinge of stress washed over him as he realized the instructions seemed to forward, to basic.
"Whats going on here?" He asked himself while stepping into the room, looking down at the struggling humanoid shape squirm and fidget in front of him. "Hm, so the goal is to move him without touching him? Well if I cant touch him...." He trailed off, throwing out a few quick hand signs as he whispered under his breath. "Water Style: Water Clone Jutsu."
The shape of a man quickly formed out of water collected from the air, the water rippling as it took on the appearance of not Katsuo, but Mr. Ibiki.
"You know what to do." Katsuo nodded to the clone looked towards the hostage, a wide grin appearing on his face as he created a difficult loophole to negate. The Ibiki clone nodded before grabbing the bag on either side, sliding it across the floor onto the B tile.
"Something doesnt feel right, I cant tell what but ill try everything I can until I figure it out." Katsuo told himself internally, looking down towards the clone and hostage.
"Open it..." The young shinobi mumbled, staring at the bag with curiosity as the clone zipped the top down just a few inches, enough to see into the bag clearly.

A slight scratching was heard as the water clone tried to find out who was inside the bag. The ground under the water clone seemed to shift south while the floor the hostage was in shifted west, toward the wall. The clone seemed to lose it’s footing, phasing through the floor, leaving the captive near point B, but drifted away due to the floor taking him away. Ibiki smirked as he closed his eyes and addressed the water styled genin.

“Heh, thought you’d know better than to try and peak on a hostage that was meant to be covered. You got lucky the floor effected when it did or else you may have been disqualified.” Ibiki crossed his arms. “It’s common knowledge that a covered hostage was meant to be kept secret, otherwise we would have briefed you who it was. Looks like you have a situation in front of you.”

He gestured toward the hostage who was now on an seemingly reasonable floor, but as the water clone displayed, was NOT as it seemed.

Katsuo smiled as the clone dissipated into the floor somehow.
"I know its common knowledge, its one of the shinobi rules enforced at the academy, but it got you to reveal that there are some secrets hidden in this room, did it not? And the clone never revealed the hostage, he just unzipped the bag slightly." He informed his superior, his grin never fading.
"But these jutsu cast on the floor, powerful, unique, why? Whats the need for these unless they expect more from this test...."

“Hm...” clever. That’s one way to reveal the floor Justu. But can he find a way to work around and achieve the exam goal? Unlikely, seeing as he nearly broke the rules within the first minute. And just because he figured out one trick doesn’t mean he can figure them all out. He doesn’t stand a chance.

‘Or I could just torture the man.’ Kiro thought of the many brutal ways he could do this. However, that wasn’t what the goal was. He had to move the man to the circle that was marked without physically making contact with the man. ‘But did that include the chair?’ Kiro thought of asking but after he considered the attitude he was given last time, he decided against it. He mentality cursed as his two changes of nature were not meant to be able to physically move something. Kiro started to pace the room as he tried to figure out what he was going to do. It seemed near impossible for him. It pissed him off so much. He so wanted to tie a rope around Ibiki’s neck and... ‘Wait.’ Kiro froze for a second as he finally came up with an idea. How did he not think of the idea he had any sooner?! Kiro pulled out a decent sized rope and started to wrap it around the hostage, cautiously trying to avoid any body contact. After he was done, he tied a knot and used the rest of the rope that was sticking out as a handle to pull the hostage over to the circle. The hostage wasn’t as heavy as Kiro had expected, which was probably due to malnutrition and lost body weight. After a few moments and some readjusting, Kiro finally brought the hostage to the circle. Soon after, he looked Ibiki, waiting for what his next orders. There was no way that was it.

That’s it? Heh, it’s going to be easier than I thought.

Zaku looked down at the hostage, and brought his arms close, but not enough to touch. Then a jet stream of air was released, seemingly coming from his hands. The hostage was thrown over near point B, landing on the verge. It then teetered over the edge on something unseen, about to flop over. ...what? Zaku released another jet stream, stopping the hostage from falling from an unseen cliff. Phew...that was unexpected...

Ibiki blinked for a second before shaking his head. The point of this segment of the exam seems to have been lost on this genin...but it’s a pass none the less....

...........

Kai looked at the terrain, feeling the wall. It seemed too easy, there was something to it. He did a handsign an Gave a long breath. His breath was like a mist, shrouding around an area around his feet. The walls seemed real, but the mist on the ground seemed to reveal the ground was chopped up, several spots missing footing and certain paths and footholds spread out.

Kai pondered what he might do to get the hostage across without physically touching them. Then he got an idea. He unveiled a water pouch on his hip and utilized the water within it around the bag in a ring shape before crystallizing it. Bending the water, he got the hostage over to point B before defrosting the water. A crafty exam part, but fruitless to a ninja who can track like me.

As Ryo and Haru were guided into their respective rooms, they both listened in on their instructions. It was a rare type of task, but it made sense.

Haru crossed his arms, and furrowed his brows. What? This task seemed simple, yet he had no idea exactly how we was expected to carry his out. He was raised on the essence of Taijutsu, most of what he accomplished was done physically. After a few moments of thinking, he formed a sequence of quick hand signals.

"Byakugan!" He muttered, as the veins around his temples intensified, and the white in his eyes grew more prominent.

He figured that if this was a task he drew a blank with, he could always peak in on other members - or so he thought. The dark haired boy was met with nothing but blurry blank visions as he tried to look into the other rooms. He realized that the staff must've thought ahead and prevented this type of jutsu from being affected. He deactivated his Byakugan and stood there, staring blank faced as he tried to figure out the task.

Then it hit him. He was recently taught one of the many skills held within the Hyuga bloodline, and the one that his father had educated him on prior to the exams was the ability to expel pure chakra from your body, known as the "Eight Trigrams, Palm Rotation" - something the Hyuga's were known to utilize in dire situations.

Haru didn't know how powerful this would be, but he had to give it a shot. He walked up closely behind the chair, and performed multiple hand seals. He then got into a stance with both arms outstretched stiffly in opposite directions. Haru closed his eyes, and attempted to focus all of the chakra in his body to his arms.

Then, he spun. As swiftly he rotated in place, chakra energy began to shoot out like a jet from his arms, forming a rotating sphere of dense chakra around his body. This chakra shot out at the nearby chair, in which knocked the hostage forwards until coming to a skid, directly in the circle of Point B.
==========

A grin appeared on Ryo's face, the blonde knowing exactly what to do after a few mere moments of thinking. They weren't allowed to use their own body parts, but they had to move the hostage to Point B, so that is exactly what he would do.

"This situation seems to be tailored to my favor. Neat." He whispered, kneeling down on his right leg. He took a good look at the angle of which the hostage was seated, and then commenced with his process.

Holding his arms out in front of him, the tip's of Ryo's fingers and thumbs touched - his hands forming an open square with the hostage in view right in the center.

"Yamanka Ninja Art: Mind Transfer Jutsu!" He called, closing his eyes.

Immediately, Ryo's conscious and spiritual energy shot through the target that his hands had formed, and phased right into the hostage. Ryo's body went limp and slumped lifelessly to the ground, but quickly, his mental state had manifested within the hostage's body; completely taking over its mental state physical control. He opened his eyes, but since the hostage had been bagged, he relied on his memory of how far away he was from the intended destination of Point B. He then shifted his weight to the right, causing the chair the hostage was tied to to fall to the ground. From there, he began scooching forwards, as a worm would do. It was a tad uncomfortable, but had to be done.

After a couple of minutes, Ryo was sure that he had made it to the designated spot.

"Mind Transfer, Release!" He chanted once, in which caused the hostage's body to fall still as Ryo's mental conscious returned to his own body.

The boy's previously soulless physique began moving and blinked a couple times as Ryo returned to within himself. He stood up and stretched, pleased as he noticed that the hostage's body was in Circle B...a bit far to the side, but still neatly inside of it.

The teen figured this would be a simple task due it being the first, but he hoped he could continue to figure out the other challenges, because the Exams were assured to become a lot harder as time went on.

All the different ibukis in The rooms that had passed the first section all stepped forward, closer to point B, stepping along the path that was unseen for the genin.

“Good, you’ve passed the first part. The first part was about your ingenuity skill and how to solve a problem, as well as studying your surroundings before you make a move.” The ibikis said in their own way. “Listening to directions and learning what they mean. Listening is important...so now I want you to listen...”

At this point ibiki made his way behind the genin, his cold breath on their shoulder as he offered an tense, but curiously unscarred Hand on their shoulder

“....”

“...Kill the Hostage.”

"Okay, seems simply enough..." Kenji said to himself as the individual continued to flail around his bindings as he looked at the stick and had a frown.

I could just use go outside, get a stick or something to push him, but that's not really "ninja" enough.

With that, Kenji began to form some hand seals. Then he took a deep breath as he began to generate some electricity. Kenji smirked as then, he began to shuffle his feet in place. On top of the electricity he had began to gather, the way he shuffled his sandals along the flood began to build up a lot of static electricity.

Now then, if I can break the restaints and give him a little shocking poke I could get him to jump just the right way. Worked as a prank, time to see if I can put it to practice...

Kenji, more so to be flashy than anything else, jumped over the ground behind the restrained man in the chair. Kenji then pulled out a kunai as he sliced the chains that restrained the man to the chair. Before the "hostage" had a chance to react to this, Kenji positioned himself as he eyed where the Point B spot was as he moved his electric coated hand towards the individual before he sent a powerful electric spark to poke the man in the back the man's rib without a direct physical touch.

"MMMMMMMMMMM!"

The main's muffled scream was heard as the electric static shock zapped the man out of his chair as he flew through the air. Just enough so that the man landed on the Point B spot. Not as...graceful as others Kenji presumed, and with frizzled hair, but Kenji felt he had done what was asked of him.

----------
Sakura gazed at the struggling man, and overheard the instructions though naturally Sakura suspected that a ninja exam could not be so simple.

Too easy, far too easy. Even with no direct touching. Something is up, and I aim to find out what...

Sakura then formed a few hand signs and held up a seal, the genjutsu specialist of her graduation class aimed to perform a genjutsu release just to see if things had not been as they seen.

----------
Tomiko jumped behind the chair the man was resting on as she began to form some hand signs.

"Alright, I'd advise you hang on tight, could be a bumpy ride." Tomiko advised to the struggling hostage though this had confused him just before the girl grinned.

"Minature Earth Pillar Jutsu!" Tomiko called out as the immediate ground just beneath the hostage and sent him high in the air. The man was panicked as Tomiko bashed a part of the pillar to form a rock as she jumped up and smashed it against the chair which sent it and by extension the struggling man down and forward as they crashed into Point B.

----------
"MMMM HMMMM HMMMM!!!"

"Quite whining. Raven wouldn't hurt a fly. Now stop struggling."

Madoka, having figured something had to be set up within the room, decided to play it safe as she unvailed her puppet Raven who normally rested on her back tied up as she used her invisible chakra strings to glide the puppet across the floor as Madoka used its switch blade to slice through the restraint chains that connected the man to the chair and then wrapped him up before she have the puppet glide over to Point B and dropped him flat on it.

----------
Azumi, like Sakura and Madoka, had expected something about this exam that seemed like a set up as she began first and foremost with a series of hand seals before she generated a single stream of water through the floor of the room as she aimed to test it as she tried to see if she could spot anything suspicious.

Kiro wouldn’t have hesitated it in the slightest to slice the hostage’s throat. He would’ve too if he didn’t freeze when he felt a different cold, unscarred hand touch his shoulder. The voice too, something about it was different, too different. Then Kiro started to chuckle. “Calm on, what fool that calls them self a shinobi would fall for that?!” Kiro exclaimed, trying his best to hold back his laughter. It wasn’t because it was easy, it was because Kiro knew there were other genin who were too scared to kill and yet they still would do it and fail. It would be so funny having to watch them breakdown, completely confused as to what they just did. Eventually Kiro became calm again. “I’m not a fool.” Kiro said in a more serious tone before turning around.

Raiku and Hashima both got stunned by what Ibiki said. And then Hashima just fell to the floor. "N-no. I can't do it," she said as she let her kunai fall on the ground. Raiku quickly recovered, however. He left Ibiki and walked up to the hostage in the same way he did. Then he simply stabbed the hostage.

.....

“Should have guessed....”

The shadow clone of Ibiki poofed into smoke, revealing a character underneath it. A woman with long black hair and bandages around her body as well as a leaf headband spoke.

“The Byakugan of course would have had caught in easier than most...well done.” Kurrenai shrugged. “You, Kiro of the Hyuga, pass the exam, please exit through that door quietly. You are the first to pass.”

Ibiki shook his head as he saw the poof of smoke escape the hostage’s bags. He pointed at raiko harshly.

“You fail, get out. NOW.”

.......

Seeing the hesitation in Hashima’s eyes, Ibiki leaned in to her ear closer.

“Can’t? Or won’t? Are you disobeying me? Do what i’ve Asked of you.”

Raiku looked at Ibiki, and then smiled. "I wish you would've at least let me taste the blood," he said before leaving the door. He didn't know why he said that. Sure sometimes he liked the taste of his blood, which was weird, but he wasn't that sadistic.

Hashima looked up at Ibiki, eyes full of tears. "I won't kill someone for you," she said weakly.

Kiro smirked after he heard he had passed. He nodded to the proctors before walking out the room with his hand in his pockets. It wasn’t as easy as he had hoped but it was fairly simple. Kiro stood outside as he waited for the other genin to finish and for the second exam to begin. Instead, he found Raiku walking out. He didn’t know whether or not he had passed but didn’t bother asking.

Sagiso shook her head, 'Seems it won't be that easy after all...Well, no worries.' She didn't want to reveal anything more about herself and refused to use any jutsu to complete the task. Instead, her hands slowly fell to her sides and she whipped out a kunai. Flicking her right wrist she whisked a flurry of kunai heavenwards, sinking them into the ceiling of the room. A series of thin, steel wires could be seen leading from the handles of the kunai to the tips of Sagiso's fingers. The fingers on her left hand blurred as she released a set of shuriken, throwing them in arcs that circled the hostage, entwining the hostage with steel thread. With the threads on her right hand connected to the ceiling and those on her left hand connected to the hostage, Sagiso began to retrieve the threads. The instant she felt tension she acted, pulling herself into mid-air and simultaneously swinging the hostage like a pendulum, tossing him onto circle B. She did both in a single, fluid motion, as she was rather weary the ceiling would collapse under a sustained weight. With her task done she turned to face the proctor, "What next?"

Zaku’s Spine crawled as he felt that hand on his shoulder. It was almost like...no....that wasn’t it. The hand he felt was very familiar to his sensei...but it wasn’t...

“Heh, you talk like you own me.” Zaku said, before pointing his hand toward Ibiki. “But old Proc doesn’t have snack scales!”

Zaku was about to unleash a burst of wind on Ibiki before a puff of smoke came up around the proctor, to reveal a lady with black hair and a fish net shirt alongside a grey overshirt. The lady stopped Zaku’s attack with a bundle of snakes coiled wrohnd his arm, before she recalled them.

“What an unusual way of knowing.” And spoke, amused. “What are you a snake enthusiast?either way, looks like your a passer, congrats.”

Kai readied am I’ve blade to strike the awaiting prisoner, until he noticed something. The prisoner that was heavily bagged seemed to have a similar height to someone who he had seen before..could it be? He then poured water from his pouch on the histage’s bag, to reveal a perfect outline of Ibiki. It was Ibiki! Kai turned around to attack the fake proctor when a puff of smoke revealed a dark haired man with a sickly look on his face.

“You....huh....water.” Hayate coughed. “That...unique. I think...you passed here.”

Ibiki scratched his head, seemingly at a loss for words. Suddenly, the proctors erupted in a cloud of smoke, revealing a black haired man with two blades around his knuckles.

“That was one of the weirder exams...even weirder for you to pass.” Asuma shrugged. “I don’t think you got the point of this exercise, but you did it anyway.”

Hashima wiped her tears and looked up at the man. "Really?! I DID IT?! Yay! Yay! I did it!" she said excitedly as she started standing up and leaving the room. Meanwhile Raiku noticed Kiro had also left. "Isn't he that guy that was about to kill Chikao? Don't worry... he won't bully you anymore," he thought as he drew out his tanto. He went near him from behind and put his blade close to Kiro's neck before hearing,"Hey! Raiku, come!" He put his sword away and saw Hashima waving at him. "I did it! I passed!" she shouted.

A bit of Raiku felt happy for her, and suddenly he felt back to normal. "N-nice," he muttered. "Did you pass, too?" she asked. Then it happened to Raiku again. "No, I didn't. But do you know the taste of blood? I think Uchihas' taste even better," he said with a smile. Hashima didn't really hear the last part right, or she thought she didn't. "Oh, I'm sorry you didn't..."

Katsuo looked a bit confused by the command, his head shooting back and forth from the hostage to Ibiki. "But wait, that doesnt make any sense. You said the hostage has valuable information, I wouldnt kill him, at least not yet. An activity like that would be performed by a supior, in a more controlled setting." Katsuo spoke in a nonchalant tone, backing away from the hostage.
"More of a memory game than a test..."

Ibiki looked annoyed and squinted his eyes at the young genin who backtalked him.

“But you’ve reached your destination, point B. You have no need of him, now obey your proctor!”

@Godjacob

The genjustu was partially revealed around the footing near a foot from Sakura. The genjustu was jounin level by the looks of it, so it wasn’t easily hampered. The footing seeemed to shift and move, and even lower and rise at points. But the wall seemed to be real.

.......

As far as Azumi was concerned, her jet stream was lunached into the flat surface...until it seemed to drip like a waterfall, revealing a moving platform of sorts, before the waterfall became a puddle of water floating along.

........

Zaku walked out feeling proud of himself, his arms behind his head when he noticed a certain byakugan user not in the crowd. Hm? He’s not out already? Now that’s Interesting..wonder if the guy will pass. Zaku grinned as he approached a doorframe looking at the other ninjas which one by one, started to come out of their doors..

......

Kai quickly took to a secluded corner as to not be seen by many as a target for any future exam. He watched from the shadows, looking at his fellow mist non pass before him. Now that’s intresting...he must be a different kind of special to finishe near first...

Katsuo looked on towards the hostage, confusion still wavering in his mind. "This still doesnt make any sense, interrogation is performed by any and all shinobi if needed, but official executions in an environment we control like this, would be carried out by an Anbu member." Katsuo realized, flashing a look to Ibiki, his grin returning.
"No."

Kiro watched Raiku as he walked past him. Something seemed off but Kiro couldn’t see it until it was too late. For a moment, he felt as if someone had a weapon to his neck. He turned around only to see Raiku talking to his girlfriend Kiro assumed. That was weird, he could’ve sworn he felt something. But that’s when he heard the line. ‘Taste Uchiha blood, what does he mean by that?’ Kiro did want to see Uchiha blood but he couldn’t figure out what they were talking about. However, he remembered their argument last time they spoke to each other and Kiro did not want to draw any more attention to himself, so he kept his mouth shut and continued to observe. Kiro did manage to nod over in Kai’s direction when he saw him exit the exam room.

“.....”

“...Well said.”

In a quick handsign, the Ibiki dissapailted, and so did the hostage in a cloud of smoke. Out of the smoke can a man dressed in red with blond hair, a jounin by the looks of him.

“Memorizing the likes of our village’s laws, rules, and regulations. If that’s not intelligence, I’m not sure what is.” Inoichi smiled. “You showed what it takes to pass by my standards. Congratulations.”

Kai noticed his fellow mist ninja nod his direction, to which he nodded back. It was good to have a mutual understanding for one another, even if it were just one of the genin in the crowd he was glad one came from his village.

Katsuo nodded to the man in front of him, trying to hide the fact that he ddint actually expect his question to be the answer, he was just confused about the task. "Oh, really? Thank you sir." His words spilled as he gave a small bow before exiting the room, returning to the main examination room. "Wow, looks like some people made it out before me, impressive. That wont last long...." He mumbled to himself, taking a seat at the edge of the examination room where he began a short meditation to prepare himself for whatever may come next.

Ryo became paralyzed at the command of the Proctor. What?? Murder someone, as a Genin, for a test?? This was madness. He wondered what would happen if he disobeyed - if he really refused to kill the hostage. He felt bad enough for violating his mind and temporarily kicking him out of his own body just for the sake of a test. However, Ryo couldn't afford to fail these tests - he had to be that example for his sisters and mother.

His hands became shaky as he gripped a kunai, and looked at the wriggling man. He closed his eyes and moved forwards, but after a single step, he stopped in his tracks and looked to Ibiki with reluctance and anxiety in his eyes.

"I....I can't do it sir. It just doesn't make any logical sense. If a Ninja were to take a hostage captive in the first place, that means they either made a negotiation, or the hostage withholds valuable information - they wouldn't kill them out of the blue." He spoke, trying to put a solid tone behind his throat.

======

Haru was taken aback, and gave some serious thought as to what he would do. It seemed like a drastic measure, but these were the Chunin Exams, and Ninja will have to take lives eventually, especially when ordered to. He would become a famous ninja one day, and in order to reach that goal this was the task he had to triumph over.

"Sir." He spoke in obedience, gripping two kunai from the pouch tied to his leg. He held both in one hand, executed a quick turn, and released the kunai hurling at the tied up hostage. Once the two weapons pierced into the covered man, Haru turned to look at Instructor Ibiki and await his response.

Okay, shifting floor. Figured it wouldn't be so simple. But I do have an idea...

Sakura hoped over in front of the restrained individual, before pulling out several kunai from her bag. Sakura tossed one to the floor just before her, as she watched it shift to the side a little before shifting back.

Genjutsu, no matter how powerful, are still illusions. My kunai and these shifting floors are not...

Sakura used another kunai to slice the restraints from the hostage that bound him to a chair, though cast a quick Genjutsu that would put the hostage in a daze. Sakura knew the effects were bound not to last long, so she had to act fast. Mustering up as much strength as she could, she lifted the hostage in an over the shoulder carry. Sakura grimaced as the hostage was heavier than he appeared, but focused as she began to walk forward. Sakura would use her kunai to mark out where these platforms were and how they moved, so she could respond accordingly. Even jumping at times when needed, which was no easy task given his weight. Eventually, Sakura managed to maneuver both herself and the interrogatee just close enough to where she was able to toss him to Point B. Sakura took a moment to pant and catch her breath, but had a smile as she was proud she managed to seemingly complete the task.

-----------
Azumi frowned when she discovered the floor had not been what it seemed. Figured, these exams could not be this simple. Though now that Azumi had been aware she could proceed properly, as she jumped over to the chair the one to be interrogated was on. Azumi was quick to form a series of hand signs as she jumped on the lap of the tied up hostage.

"Water Style, Narrow Wave Jutsu." Azumi called out, as water began to build up and elevate the chair beneath her and by extension the hostage before the mild wave began to drift forward. Water leaked down and through the open spaces between these platform-like sections of floor but the wave had been tall enough to last the needed time to carry them to Point B before Azumi jumped off and brought the hostage towards said spot as she canceled out the wave.

Azumi seemed satisfied with the results, as she managed to get the hostage to the second point without physically touching him.

Sakura and Azumi, muck like Kenji, Madoka and Tomiko in their own rooms waited for the proctor to explain what they were to do next.

Ibiki looked at Ryo an nodded his head, as he held up a handsign. Within seconds, the shadow clone puffed into. A Cloud of smoke rises revealing a man underneath it. He had cheek guards and a leaf ninja headband, alongside a signature jounin vest.

“Well done, your deductive reasoning skills were efficient. One must always pay attention to their surrounds and whom they get orders from.”
Yamato said. “On these terms you have passed the first exam, please exit.”

........

When haru threw the kunai, it hit the target, Turing the hostage into a puff of smoke. Ibiki shook his head as Haru did this and pointed at him.

“I expected more from. Hyuga, you fail. Get out.”

Ryo was confused, and his eyes widened as the "hostage" that he had thought was a criminal vanished, and proved to be nothing more than clone. To even more of a surprise, the Ibiki copy turned out to be a Jounin - and cause the blonde teen's eyes to open widely in disbelief.

He was ecstatic, and couldn't believe when he had heard that he passed. That was stage one out of the way. All he had to do was keep this up and continue to prove his ability. Ryo then stepped outside as instructed, and awaited the next phase.

=============

Haru. Was. Pissed.

"What!?" He exclaimed, in confusion. "You ordered me to kill the ho-...."

But he stopped himself. He noticed that the body in which he threw the kunai to, disappeared in a matter of seconds. It wasn't a real person. Why would he kill a hostage if they were captured for a reason in the first place? He cursed himself under his breathe for not thinking forward in a situation such as this. Failed in the first stage? This was madness - the test was rigged and not fair - that had to be the only explanation.

He kept himself together, and exited the room, and left the building. Things wouldn't be the same the second time around.

"Yes... I do believe mine and my clanmates would taste better than most..." Raiku said, slowly walking away.

"Hey, where are you going?" Hashima asked. Raiku stopped and turn around. "To train, obviously. Good luck on the next parts of the Exams though," he said with a smile. And with that he left the building, and began wandering the streets of Konoha. "What a strange guy," Hashima thought briefly. Then she just found somewhere to sit by as she waited for the next part of the exam to begin.

Zaku watched Haru leave his room with a disgruntled look on his face. Zaku couldn’t help but give a sly grin. So the byakugan user couldn’t pass after all? Have to say, I’m disappointed.

“I expected you to pass, I would have imagined those eyes of yours would help.” Zaku said to him. “Guess we found out something, haven’t we?”

While his views aligned with Haru, seeing him come out a failure struck out a possible ally for the future.

Azumi overheard the order given by Ibuki, as she glanced at the hostage. On an impulse, she brought her kunai out and in truth had no reservations towards killing anyone. Though the sudden shift seemed odd, especially given what she had heard from Ibuki before hand.

"Hang on, we were not to question this hostage for information? Why are we now going to kill him if he has valuable information? I won't kill him if you can't give me a good explanation for why I have to." Azumi questioned.

-----------
Kenji overheard what Ibuki had asked of them, and along with the cold touch of Ibuki's hand felt a chill go up his spine. D-did he just ask him to kill a guy? I mean sure, as a ninja Kenji expected that he'd have to kill somebody someday. But as a Genin? That seemed way to fast.

"H-hold on here, I think there has to be a better way to handle this than to ask a Genin to kill a guy. Did he have a trial, did we get the information from him? Isn't there an executioner or something to handle this stuff? This is not a job for me." Kenji said, as he questioned if he made the right call to question this, before eventually he decided to stick to his belief.

----------
"W-wait hold on a second..." Tomiko said, as she overheard what Ibuki had apparently asked of her to do. As she glanced at the struggling man before her as she thought over what to do.

"Look, I don't even know what this guy did. Isn't asking a Genin to kill him for you kinda abrupt? We even went to the trouble of transporting him here. If you wanted me to kill him, why not have me do it in the other room? I'm sorry but I will not kill him." Tomiko explained as she made her stance clear and was prepared for whatever came her way.

----------
Madoka thought over what was asked of her, before she let out a sigh.

"I was under the impression that ANBU handled executions like this. At least in my village, and I doubt Konoha is that different they'd leave it up to Genin. I'd say leave this job to those that it is fit for." Madoka explained matter of factly as she made no effort to kill the hostage before her.

----------
Sakura had been troubled with what was asked of her, as she found it rather extreme to ask Genin to commit a death sentence like this. Then Sakura took note of Ibuki's unscared hand and had a small smile of relief on her face.

"Gotta say, you almost had me there. But I am supposed to listen to instructions of Ibuki-sensei. A good imitation, but lacking in key details." Sakura explained in reference to the hand.

"Kill him?"

Sagiso shook her head lightly. Even though she couldn't break through the jonin-level genjutsu, her Byakugan at least allowed her to sense its presence. If a user of one of the three great dojutsu known for their ocular prowess was to be caught in a genjutsu with them non-the wiser despite activating their kekkei genkai then the Rinnegan, Sharingan, and Byakugan really wouldn't be deserving of their reputation. That wasn't to say there weren't genjustu capable of ensnaring her without her notice, but if they used techniques like that just for testing genin then the Chunin exams were a scam- they'd all be doomed to fail.

Combined with the proctor's prior words stating how 'valuable' this hostage was... well, if she couldn't see through a ploy like this then she deserved to fail.

Ibiki leaked in closer to her, a stern presence about him feeling unsettling. His gripped slightly tightened on her, the unscathed hand tensing up.

“Obey your proctor, do what you were told to do by your proctor. Now.” He commanded.

Taiyo saw all of the genin rush to figure out the first solution to the exams.
"Well, here I go," The Kohana-nin mumbled to himself as he began the first exam.
Remebering what Ibiki told the exam takers, he walked up to his hostage, he decided to put his style of interrogation onto this assignment.
"You have information that I want, now this can go one of two ways, either you tell me and no one gets hurt, or I'll just have to beat the info out of you," Taiyo threatened, the hostage didn't seem too impressed with Taiyo's threat, he heard those things said to him a million times.
"You're gonna be difficult huh, well then," Taiyo stated with a menacing edge to his voice before getting to point blank range at his hostage, "TELL ME NOW OR YOUR GOUNG TO HAVE A HALF BURNT FACE!" The hostage shuddered and whispered the indie to Taiyo, feeling accomplished, he put away his fire ball and waited for his results.

Ibiki stood in silence for a few moments before sighing heavily. Is this boy for real?

You forgot every word I said once you entered this room, your supposed to take HIM over THERE to point B, got it?”

Ibiki points to the checkpoint on the other side of the room. If he has that much of a problem paying attention he is doomed for failure.

Sagisō almost burst into laughter, a slight smirk forming on the edges of her lips. "Oh, do you really expect me to be scared by that threat? Or is the leaf just so powerful that they can afford to offend all the other ninja villages by threatening their genin?"

"As a joint effort between all the ninja villages it's natural that the chunin exams would quite the sensitive endeavor... If I really were to follow your orders after all the flaws you've exposed then I shouldn't have bothered to take the exams in the first place!" She smiled at the instructor, she wasn't buying his act one bit. Even If they wanted to hoodwink her... they should've at least done a better job than this.

She figured only the hastiest and most unobservant of genin would fail this section. That or the ones who were a bit twisted in the head. The instructor was contradicting himself with his words and his attitude didn't match the situation. He'd said they were testing their ingenuity and ability to handle situations so it was rather obvious that those who couldn't read the situation beyond what was given to them would fail.

.....

“You’ve got quite He tone don’t you?”

In a poof of smoke, the proctor, Ibiki seemed to turn into someone new. The shadow clone became A man with orangish skin and a leaf ninja headband. He wore the iconic vest of their village and a scar across his nose.

“I don’t share your hatred for other villages, especially those that accept guests such as yourself young lady.” Iruka protested. “I don’t want to pass you, but by the rules you found out that I was not your proctor and discovered the other flaws, so you pass. But i’d Advise against the behavior in the future, ok?”

The hostage then stood up, taking off of the bag. There were no bonds from the inside it looked like, and in the bag was the actual shadow clone of Ibiki!

Taiyo faceplamed and looked back at the hostage.
"Well despite that little failure, I guess I still need to get you to point B," He then brought out two fireballs, "Go to point B or you'll take a fireball to the back," The hostage was unaware if Taiyo could actually do it, buts based on the last threat, he didn't want to take that chance. With the speed some would compare to an Olympic runner, he bolted to point B.
"Did I do it right this time?" /SPOILER]
