Private/Closed Naruto AU: Roleplay

Tsunade mentally thanked Jiraiya for slicing the snake heads for her. Of course, she hadn’t planned on being flung around in the first place. Freeing the hand used for the wood allowed her to weave another set of hand seals while above the two combatants. This time, sharp wooden branches grew from her right hand, multiplying and extending as they were aimed downwards. Tsunade aimed to sever the exposed neck of Orochimaru that had been elongated to reach Jiraiya. Furthermore, the sharpened branches would continue and penetrate the skin of Manda whether or not Orochimaru moved out the way.

Meanwhile, Katsuyu hadn’t quite reformed yet after dissolving her body over Manda. The snake had managed to escape her substance, but that didn’t mean it was completely safe yet. Still attached to Manda were much smaller forms of Katsuyu, which had attached themselves under the cover of the goop. With the rest of her body still reforming, the little ones that were spread across the serpent began spraying an acidic paste all over it’s skin. The thick and dense acid would eat away at Manda, slowly melting him while he was already pinned down by the sword in his mouth and Gamabunta sitting on the tail.

The battle of the boss summons had seemed to turn to a contest of endurance, his blade shook as it threatened to but had not broken, not yet anyhow but Gamabunta realized the soundest strategy may have been to keep Manda in position as Katsuya seemed to already go to work in her small duplicates began to spread their acidic contents on the vile serpent as one thing had been clear; he needed his blade before it snapped. So he would fire a small stream of oil aimed right for the eyes of the currently immobilized Manda with the aim to blind or least distract it as he'd keep on of his massive flippers (And in essence weight) on the tail as he used an athletic spring with the aim to kick the side of his throat using his shocking agility and shocking skill with martial arts in succession with the other free foot as he pulled his blade back in kind with both hands.

"Ninja Art: Art of the Raging Lion's Mane!"
Jiraiya had once more gone to a hair raising solution to Orochimaru's advance, as when the snake lunched for him with his freakishly elongated neck as his own hair branched and extended powerful collective threads; ones that aimed to wrap around the snake's neck, body and even extend further to Manda himself to give the summons some aid as said strands once they aimed to wrap around both targets would aim to first immobilize then begin to constrict with prickly, constructive force on the targets.

Well, that complicates things.
Kakashi had quickly tailed to the hole made after he ensured Minato had been safe, and it seemed Kabuto had both the time to transform and gloat as he vanished into the crowd under his ANBU cover. Speaking of ANBU, Yugao had arrived with a pair for presumed support but had alas came a second too late.

"What happened?" Yugao asked behind her mask, as Kakashi relaid the info quickly which of course extended to details of Kabuto's specific ANBU garb as Yugao nodded, Kakashi handeled the transport of Minato to a more secure location with some aid to flank while Yugao moved down to the crowd; both to attempt to spot the runaway and organize aid to the ninja at battle. They needed to get to the Hokage before long as even with a Sannin at her side support was a must once those situations had been tied down.

-----
As the ANBU continued his errend he had to admit the kid was quite the mouth full, he even seemed to be talking to himself. Perhaps he'd sock the kid to shut it up, but his quivers and cries seemed to oddly sooth his ears. Not that the expression could be made out behind his Monkey-shaped mask. Regardless his attention shifted when he felt something touch his back...

Woosh!
.....he hadn't the time to even quip before a sudden replacement moved a log where his armored back had been as he was forced to drop Kou given he had been familiar with that position. The ANBU glanced up as whatever he expected frankly could not match up to the reality as without any forewarning the kid had even the most basic ninjutsu capacity a sudden beast appeared out of thin air as the large rat summon glanced down and seemed to speak to the boy who now rested on her head.

For the first time, the ANBU had actually been taken aback by a development during the day. Speechless, for but a moment.

"So, this your pet?" The ANBU asked the kid, oddly composed from his momentary shock...perhaps even a bit eerily calm as he walked over to Zaku who had lodged himself face first in dirt. During this he quickly made one handed signs as to Kou and his new giant friend nothing change but the area around them would be concealed in a genjutsu blanket to mask their presence and appearance as he needed to keep this quiet as can be. Granted the chaos in the village would draw most curious eyes but one could never be too careful in this occupation.

Regardless, he had a job to do, but really....if this kid could make a near or perhaps even a boss summon without even knowing what a hand-sign had been, what had that said on his potential if it was cultivated in the right means?

So, it seemed that the break out was on now? Seems Zaku had been late to the party but Tayuya had little cause for concern, so long as she and Orochimaru's desired prize returned to him all would be salvageable enough. Who knows maybe the idiot would happen to pop up on his own but she had not been been one to hold her tongue on that.

"Save the gentleman stick for when we're back in Oto. Just keep your head down and don't do anything stupid to fuck this up." Tayuya said with only a touch of her usual snark as she moved quickly as instructed by their escape aid. This had been fun and all but she had been more than ready to return home.

Taiyo
Without exhibiting further hesitation, Taiyo began to follow Sakura to save her friends. A part of him wanted to ask the pink-haired girl about her friends since he had no prior knowledge of them, but he was aware that now wasn't the best time for such a conversation.

Why are we helping people we barely know?

I don't see why we shouldn't.

Well lemme provide some reasons. For one, this could possibly endanger our lives. Secondly, this wasn't even our business to begin with!

That's true, but that sort of logic didn't stop greater shinobi from saving others.

That's probably because they knew that they'd live after the encounter, but whatever...
Tsuki

Although she wouldn't admit it, Tsuki found her mentor's act of being offended by her request to be humorous. However, she did want to address the points that Hama brought up seriously.

"While you aren't wrong, it's obvious that my growth won't last forever. Eventually, I'll peak," Tsuki spoke in a respectful but brutally honest tone, "At the end of the day, talent cannot compensate for skill, and I know that I will eventually have to rely on skill. Once that happens, I believe that developing my own technique would allow me to further develop my skills," Once the Yuki-nin finished her initial statement, she allowed herself to catch her breath before she finished what she had to say.

"And what do you mean by 'second step' of the ice needle?! I would've liked to know such a technique!" By now, her tone had shifted from mature and composed to exhaggerated childish pouting. Still, Tsuki was serious in the core of her statement.
Seiun
Fortunately for Seiun, B.O.S.E.C wasted no time in elaborating the exact meaning of his earlier euphemism. Unfortunately, the information the rogue shinobi received only served to annoy him to a great degree.

Look, if you need my permission to upgrade yourself, then you've got it. I'm more concerned about the fact that A.) You've essentially been deficient ever since I met you, or at the very least not operating at peak efficiency. B.) You've decided to tell me this information now instead of literally any earlier date. And last but certainly not least, my biggest concern is that you might still be withholding crucial information from me. With that in mind, let's rip the bandage off right now: tell me anything that you think would be important at a later date, now.

As they made it to the wall, Sakura saw there seemed to be no snakes or chaotic activity here compared to many within the village or around other sections as she quickly worked her way up the wall and moved at a pace quick enough to gain ground but also just enough for Taiyo to keep pace. Needless to say this was a bit more daunting than the trees Kakashi had them use when she first learned it but her superb chakra control and experience with this since served her well.

"Alright Taiyo once we find them we need to find the nearest evacuation bunker to get to safety!" Sakura called out loud enough just for him to hear.

The situation for Takato and company had not improved, as once the rocks and flung trees faded, suddenly this acid what could almost be called vomet came which forced the Chunin to reinforce the defensive wall as the group had been pinned in place. Naturally Mittens was terrified clinging to Takato's chest as she wished her rat friend was here for comfort.

“AGH! WHAT THE HELL?!”

Manda closed his eye and hissed at the oil that splattered in his eyes. Unable to open them without searing pain, he suddenly felt a kick to his throat, the frog forcing him to recoil back, vomiting up the sword he had been keeping in his mouth. For the moment he had to come to get his bearings, rubbing his eyelids on dirt below. Not before long, Jirayia set off a move, one that grew branches of what seemed like hair to cos tri t Manda and Orochimaru, as it wrapped around the big snake. He was beginning to hate being summoned in the leaf village.

Jirayia’s hair along with Tsunade’s sharp wood branches came down toward the exposed neck of Orochimaru, the hair gripping as Tsunade strikes. Surprisingly...the branches stopped directly after the skin, as if it hit something solid in the neck. Upon closer inspection something white was right at skin level. Almost as if it were bone...but bone couldn’t be be covering the neck, could it? It seemed to be a new ability Orochimaru was displaying.

Suddenly, Orochimaru’s entire neck grew sharp ridges of bone spikes along the spine, spikes jutting out from the side on each bone link joined this display. The bone ridges cut through the hair and shrugged off the branches, allowing the Sannin to reach Jirayia. His head coiled around Jirayia’s stance on Gamabunta, all point of energy becoming a wall of spiked bone. All but above, which Orochiamru’s head leered down with his sword, Grass Halberd in his mouth. In one move, he’d dive down to smite the opposing Sannin as they had no place of retreat.

Meanwhile, Manda’s body took the wooden spikes, though the snake skin proved too hard to penetrate. Only in the spots where Katsyuu has effected with acid did it make the flesh tender enough to puncture. This made Manda outraged. Unable to smite them off with the tip of his tail, he lashed out at Katsyuu’s duplicates, aiming to crush them with his jaw whilst smothering off the acids and prickly thorns.

.....

Palentra looked over to the Anbu, still only carrying zaku inches from the ground. She appeared offended by his words, her red eyes staring his.

“I am his mother. To assume I’m a pet... I do not wish to associate with your kind.”

Kou was relieved when he saw her pluck Zaku up by his ankle before plopping him into her hand. Every second on the surface was a risk...she didn’t want people to know of her existence, but she had little choice given her boy was in danger. Two of her boys. She was halfway grateful of the convenient genjustu cover in any case.

“Why do you pick on my son?”

“Mama, we need to go!” Kou persisted. “We don’t want to be caught!”

“I need an answer.”

Her twin tails had begun to flex left and right with a sense of growing hostility toward this Masked man, seeing as he was the culprit behind her summoning here.

Suddenly, the upgrade initiated. Seiun’s vision became distorted, the entire world seemingly like it was wobbling, the sky turning a glitched multicolor as if it were missing textures. B.O.S.E.C.’s form was torn apart and put back together again many times over, seeming to phase into the data of the glitching trees and ground. As the contrast of the glitch zone grew denser and darker, tenser and tender for every passing seconds, suddenly...

It’s skinny and broken up body received more order, the entity receiving peices connected to each other, making a basic but glitched chest. Amari watched as her flames engulfed her targets with a flurry of explosions. The end result was quite a bit bigger than she meant to happen. While she was hoping to end the battle with that attack, she didn't mean to use up quite as much chakra as she did. Perhaps it was due to her not having fought anyone in a long while, or maybe it was that she was intimidated by Katsuo's speed, but either way, she lost a bit of control and composure during that attack. She would have to rectify that later, but right now she just had to check on the two victims of the attack.

Amari ran over to where Sagisō and Katsuo were to check on them. Well more accurately she went to check on Sagisō, Katsuo just had the luxury of being in the near vicinity so that he also got checked on in tandem. The first thing she noticed about the now unconscious pair was the newly naked Sagiso. This distracted her for a good two seconds before she snapped back to reality and tried to wake up her sister after the multitude of explosions. She would worry about Katsuo after she knew Sagisō was ok.

Kiro would’ve liked to send those last words back at her, but Tayuya had already been escorted out. Expecting that they would follow immediately the pair, Kiro took a step forward only for his escort to place a hand in front of him. A gesture for him to pause. With the other hand, the ‘Sound’ ninja revealed a scroll and held it out for Kiro to take.

“You have an offer from Lord Danzo. Look it over while we move and make your choice before the end of this transfer.”

Lord Danzo? An offer? Were these escorts even Sound ninja? All of these were questions that ran through Kiro’s head as he took the scroll and began to move beside his escort. Annoyance coursed through Kiro as the first droplets of rain landed on his hair. Unfortunately, he couldn’t have himself cloaked at any time and made a mental note to rectify that issue as soon as possible. Now underneath the darkened skies, the camouflaged group began to cut through the more emptied sections of Konoha. Clearly it was an already planned route. In the distance, Kiro could make out a clash of titans. Of course, missing a large kraken floating in the air would also be hard for anyone.

‘That thing and it’s overgrown tentacles are pissing all over me and this damn scroll!’

It was a shame Kiro couldn’t watch the epic battle unfold and he was now forced to carefully opened the scroll in a way that didn’t ruin the message. They must’ve been really confident he would accept the offer. Otherwise, they wouldn’t dare name drop a certain Leaf elder when Kiro could simply expose the man when the opportunity arose. However, as Kiro’s eyes quickly scanned over the words, the beginnings of a smirk grew on his face.

“Oh, so that’s how it is.”

A snicker escaped Kiro’s lips when he began to understand. This was something Kiro hadn’t even considered, but actually made much more sense now that he thought about it. Surprisingly, or maybe unsurprisingly, the first thing Kiro thought of was the reaction a certain Uchiha might have due to the events that played out between them the day before.

‘Raiku is probably not gonna like this...’

...

Finally, the group arrived somewhere outside the village. It was a secluded area surrounded by many large trees. Besides the two pairs, there were also a few other supposed Sound ninja there waiting. The escorts deactivated the camouflage dome as Kiro placed something in his pocket. With at least two of the prisoners revealed, it was time for a certain planned deal to be completed. Of course, one could only wonder if it would be that easy...

Bones!?
Jiraiya had to admit this was a new one, as his hair recoiled when bone began to split its ends this new power seemed to catch the Sannin momentarily by surprise. Though only momentarily, as Jiraiya had been quick to respond as he lept back to avoid being encircled by the bones before he fired a pair of wind blasts from the mouth with the aim to hit Orochimaru's twisted face and slow the dive down as he moved to a safe part of his summon. Once Jiraiya had footing he glanced over to his former teammate with a look of utter disgust as it had not taken him long to member which of his affiliates used that style.

"Just when I think you can't sink any lower. He seemed the most loyal, the most devoted to your cause...and you used him as a suit of skin anyway. You are truly a worthless, soulless existence..." Jiraiya said, as he already made fresh hand signs as he faced the monster before him before he sucked in some air.

"...one that will meet its end this day. Fire Style: Flame Bombs!" Jiraiya called out, as he fired a series of large, explosive "flame bullets" towards Orochimaru's face and of course his body on Manda as he aimed to burn his adversary to ashes. During this the relative unattended Gambunta noticed Manda's charge to his partner summon as he moved aiming to splash at the throat of Manda and if he could pin its body down with its own in a power duel stomp.

The ANBU seemed not so bothered by the question, even with the hint of malice behind it as his expressionless monkey
shaped mask gazed upon Zaku as it was plucked by the self professed mother of the group. Silence fill the air for but a moment, before their frightening chill began to fill the air as for the first time the ANBU began to laugh. His mad cackle caused an air of unnerving tension to just thicken as he glanced up and while the mother lacked a means to see it a feral if not crazed laugh snuck behind that mask of his.

"Well, the one you just scooped up is a bit of a naughty one. But he has some value and needs to be somewhere special for an arrangement. As for your boy on the head well...." The ANBU cackled as he drew his sword and strange symbols soon began to crawl around it which seemed to settle as these red tattoos almost on it.

"...the pure, utter look of terror's on one's face as they beg for their fleeting life brings me an elation I wouldn't trade for anything else in this world! It's a work of art to be sure, and this boy makes for a beautiful canvas. So let me make my masterstroke~" The ANBU said with almost child-like eagerness as in the next moment he vanished under a whirl of leaves and appeared face to face with the giant rat. Literally, as he hung in the air before the giant beast and aimed to try and drive his marked blade right into her left eye.

-----
Tayuya had by contrast kept quiet during this, as her own escort was not one to be chatter and beyond that the normally outspoken Tayuya knew when to keep her tongue tied as she simply followed along the escort as it seemed a bit more complicated than a simple Oto force coming in to yank them out.

They soon arrived to the concealed spot, Tayuya hoped this would be quick and easy but had been prepared if things went south cause these arrangements if she presumed this was one rarely went off without a hitch.

"You're training with Lord Tsuchikage's assistant, of course the training is gonna be rough. If it helps you though, you have no reason to whine. Besides, whining isn't your thing to begin with. You're supposed to call out whiners, not join them. I appreciate the offer and I might take you up on it, but I am confident in my skills at the moment. I'm packing quite the firepower, if I do say so myself." Flashing a smug grin, Mori crossed his arms behind his head as he enjoyed the ride. "I didn't expect you to do anything but your very best. I'd be offended if you pull any punches, so feel free to punch me into the hospital during the exams. Just make sure I don't end up at the ER and we're fine, or at least you are. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, let's just do our best and enjoy the ride."

"You built it by yourselves? Not bad, not bad at all! It is a sturdy thing if Tomiko didn't break it already, so kudos to all of you. As for a name, how about the Stone Surfer? It is easy to remember, tells everyone the purpose of it, has a nice ring to it!" The mole genin proposed to the gang, wondering if they shared the same sentiment. Although he wasn't officially a part of the gang and was by far the one furthest removed from the slums, he still wanted to give these kids a chance to make their voice heard. It wasn't much, but every tall building is essentially made out of small rocks. They just needed enough rocks for a stable start."

----------

Taji rubbed her eye as she smiled. "I know we will, I'll do my best to play my part. I just wanted to.....thank you two for being willing to help me with this. It means more to me than you think." The last couple of minutes were stressful for her and everything came out of nowhere for her, but somehow she felt at ease. Knowing that Aisha and Kenji had her back was comforting, knowing that she wasn't alone anymore. Her cold exterior has already been melted around the warmth that these two seemed to have around them, and although it felt odd, it wasn't a bad feeling. She just needed to get used to it if she had to guess. These two wouldn't leave their...friend's side, that much they made clear. "It will be some time until darkness falls, do you want to burn some time or take action now?"

Taiyo
Following Sakura wasn't a tall order at first, since she kept herself at a pace where Taiyo wouldn't lose sight of her. While the next roadblock took the form of a wall, quite possibly the most literal a roadblock can get, the fiery shinobi wasn't very troubled by the task of scaling the wall in the same fashion as his pink-haired companion.

Now that I think about it, running up walls is somewhat similar to using my gramps's old chakra technique, but instead of releasing the chakra, I'm using it to run up walls. How about that...

Once he had scaled the wall, it was time for the two of them to do what they came for. Using the height that standing on top of a wall provides, the FBS master scouted the area in front of him. Eventually, he spotted three figures in the distance, but they too far off to be seen clearly. However, he could make out a few of the figures' traits.

"Hey Sakura, what do these friends of yours look like?" Taiyo asked bluntly as he motioned to the group of people that he saw in the background, "Or rather, do any of those people look even slightly recognizable?"
Seiun
While the former Ame-nin wasn't happy to hear that B.O.S.E.C wasn't programmed to tell him about his upgrades, Seiun rationalized that he couldn't really fault the construct for following his programming. In addition to this, he found himself understanding the A.I's point about some information being most useful at a later date.

"I'm gonna have to write a formal complaint to that programmer of yours," The rogue shinobi mumbled under his breath, making sure that B.O.S.E.C would be unable to hear him. Fortunately for Seiun, the artifical intelligence was too busy upgrading himself to take notice or care.

"What the fuck..." Seiun said quietly in response to the upgrading process that his artifical partner went through. As if the surroundings becoming warped by this process that wasn't unnerving enough, the fact that Seiun was treated to the sight of watching break down and rebuild himself made his skin crawl. The fact that reality seemed to be crumbling around him didn't do anything to put him at ease, if anything, it only made him tremble even more.

The fuck is this shit?! I haven't felt like crapping myself since I was seven...

Fortunately, the upgrading process had finally come to an end, and everything was allowed to return to normal. Well, everything except for B.O.S.E.C(obviously), who had gained a few more physical features, chief among them being a second arm, a more developed torso, a second eye, and the apparent beginnings of a lower body.

What...just...happened...
???
"Hey guys, I just a letter from the adjutant," A man that seemed to be in his early thirties announced his housemates and business partners as he walked in.

"Well, let's hear it," An younger man, in his mid twenties to be exact, eagerly replied, "Don't keep me waitin now!"

"Be patient kiddo, don't get so caught up in the prospect of a job that you miss out on crucial information," The eldest of the three, being in his mid forties, scolded the runt of the squad, similar to how a father would reprimand his son.

"Thank you, sir. Anyways, the letter states that he has a job for us-" Before the first man could say anything, he was interrupted by his younger coworker.

"I knew it!" This interruption caused the young man to get slapped upside the head for his troubles by the man on the opposite end of the age spectrum.

"Tame your tongue, Zōshī!" The old man said angrily just after he had finished punishing the aforementioned loudmouth, "Feel free to continue, Gàomì," His tone shifted to a calmer one when addressing his other coworker.

"Thank you, Míngzhì," Gàomì bowed with respect as he thanked his elder, "Now as I was saying, our job is to make up for the failure of one of our men. He failed to capture a young girl who attended the festival, and he was compromised in the process. Simply put, we are to retrieve the girl and recover our comrade, if possible,"

"Sounds easy enough..." Zōshī groaned as he rubbed his head to soothe it from Míngzhì's percussive therapy, "So are we gonna do it now?"

"Unfortunately no, since this village is currently being attacked, leaving to complete our mission now would draw unessecarry suspicion. It would be better to wait until a more opportune time approaches," Once Míngzhì had brought this information to his coworkers, they had reached an agreement, ending the discussions.

~It’s believed that when ones body receives unnatural amounts of physical pain or torment all at once, that there mind can’t cope, and may even slip away to somewhere else~
Katsuo awoke to find he was not where he had been prior. This wasn’t a completely new environment however, as the young man had certainly been here many times before. But where was he?

It was a large, dark stone room, consisting of absolutely nothing...except the faint flicker of light in the distance.

“What the hell?”

Katsuo climbed to his feet, too intrigued to notice he no longer sustained any injuries. The boy hesitantly cleared the gap between the light source and himself, his eyes widening as he finally realized where he was.

Suspended in front of him, was both of Katsuo’s chakra natures, now minuscule compared to the last visit. Somehow...Katsuo had entered a state of meditation unknowingly.

“Am I...dying?”

The stormy haired boy couldn’t believe his eyes. The once sizable ball of shimmering water had been reduced to a single droplet, and the continuous arcs of untamed lightning were now scaled to the size of a small static-shock.
The boy had used up essentially all of his chakra in a last-second defensive reflex...meaning his body was no longer capable of sustaining itself.

“No...I’m not ready. Not after something like that!”

A fierce determination had begun swelling inside the boy, causing him to literally grab hold of his chakra sources and smash them together.

Bzzzzzt~

The imbalanced natures repelled from one another, generating a sizable spark even at this scale, that managed to throw Katsuo back several meters.

“...not enough?”

Grumbling due to his efforts ineffectiveness, Katsuo charged ahead once more, slamming the chakra sources into one another again.

Bzzzzzt!~

The rejection was even stronger this, time, sending Katsuo careening backwards into the stone wall a great distance away.

One....one more t-time!”

Frustrated, Katsuo used the distance he’d gained to charge forward at top speed, causing the chakra natures to collide much more violently this time around.

BZZZZZT!~

Again, Katsuo was launched backwards at impossibly high speeds...only this time...when his body collided with the hard stone wall, it gave way, causing the entire room around him to almost instantly collapse in on itself.

“Huuuuuuu...”

Katsuo groaned as his eyes fluttered open, thankful to be greeted by the familiar blue sky he’d left behind.

“....wa-ter...”

Was all the boy could manage as his throat felt hot and dry, making it difficult to speak. He reached up to wipe some blood away from his cracked lips, only to be met with a searing pain all along his body.
Upon closer inspection, Katsuo came to realize his entire body was beat-red in color, and lightly steaming.

The water from Krakens Tendrils had attempted to form a protective barrier around him instinctively, but was incapable of withstanding so much heat with such little chakra to go on.
Due to this, his entire body has been scorched as the water evaporated off his skin.

Needless to say...both he and Sagiso would require some medical attention.

——

“Ichiko! I need help stopping the snakes!”

Kido, who’s eyes were now engulfed in a white, crackling energy, shouted to his Kraken-wielding wife from a nearby rooftop.

“Huh? Damnit...fine! You know what to do!?”

Ichiko yelled, giving her husband a rather unapologetic look, as if he’d just asked her to wash the dishes.

“Of course, love.”

Kido replied in a much softer tone, casting a quick set of hand signs while giving Ichiko a flashy wink.

“Right. We move in close while it’s distracted. Attack on my mark.”

With a wave of her hand, Ichiko utilized her connection to Sotura’s chakra and pulled the murky shallow puddles that had been forming around the Leaf together, morphing the growing mass of water into a Shuriken.
It would’ve looked exactly like Katsuo’s typical Water Shuriken...if not for the fact that is stood nearly twice Ichiko’s height.

“Let’s go!”

And thus, the paired dashed towards the closest snake to their current location, which just so happened to be the training grounds.
Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the snake was in combat with someone already.
Ichiko and Kido nodded to one another, planning to capitalize on this moment.

“You ready?”

The Water-Nin questioned her battle-ready husband, who had been sustaining the same hand seal for the entire trip over, gathering chakra for something soon to be revealed.

“Of course.”

Kido replied calmly, dashing towards the snakes from ground level whilst Ichiko jumped from sign to tree to building, gaining as much height as she should, before kicking off into the air towards the back of the snakes head.

“Water Style! Titanic Water Shuriken!”
Ichiko announced proudly as she put all her forward momentum into one incredibly forceful throw aimed at the base of the snakes head.

“Lightning Style! Tesla Frenzy!”
Kido, not a fraction of a second behind his wife, finally released all of his the stored chakra through his widespread fingertips in a bundle of ever expanding electrical beams.
As the the lightning struck the tail end of the massive Water Shuriken, the water was imbued with an intense electrical surge, causing it to produce rays of white light as violent lightning chakra crackled across its surface.

“SHOOTING STAR SHURIKEN!!!”
If all went according to plan, the empowered Shuriken could likely sever the snakes head clean off. If not, Kido would detonate his chakra, causing the Shuriken to release a massive electrical explosion in hopes of finishing the job.

Yasu closed his eyes, his arms folded. The dark-feathered shinobi cast an even darker shadow on the red sands, a nickname they'd acquired many years prior. Legend told of a puppet master of such skill in battle that the sand had turned to blood wherever he passed, earning him the moniker, Sasori of the Red Sand. Yasu wasn't sure he believed that legend since the alleged Sasori had all but vanished from Suna, but that wasn't the point. These sandy plains were dangerous, exceedingly so, and he wasn't about to let Madoka become another vanished legend.

Eyes snapping open, Yasu released a short sigh. Whether she was soul-searching or just sight-seeing, it wouldn't be right to leave her all on her lonesome.

"No, I'm coming."

----------

Her awareness stirred through the swampy dullness: a malaise of ennui and viscous haze of lassitudes miring her senses. Her ears rung: a horrid, thunderous din that consumed her hearing; an aftereffect of the chained-explosions. Her body panged: muscles sodden with the muted burn of lactic acid, blood roiling in disarray, chakra points bleeping signals of strenuous distress, and the tributaries of her chakra network running dry trickles.

Sagisō tried to open her eyes but found them sealed shut, heavy with fatigue; and, groaning, she swallowed the taste of iron in her mouth. There was something, someone trying to get her attention, but she couldn't bother with that right now. She needed to recapture her faculties.

Ordinarily, this would've taken several minutes if not hours of recuperation, but Sagisō had learned a method to enhance her recovery through harmonization. It wasn't something she'd attempted before, but the theoretical knowledge was firmly ingrained in her mind and it was time to put theory to the test.

She started with her breathing and brought it to heel. Slowly and carefully she began to adjust her breathing, controlling it despite bodily outcry and the slow, burning sensation in her lungs. Her eyelashes trembled, focus manifesting itself in the furrow of her brow. She absorbed herself in looking inwards, sharpening her self-awareness, and guiding it to the source of her vitality— her heart. She leveraged her breathing to calm its erratic pulses, then moved to harmonize spirit and vitality by aligning her breathing to her stabilized blood flow. Her body was now gaining a steady stream of oxygen, which was then flushed to her needy vitals through her blood circulation. The effect went entirely unnoticed. The harmony of spirit and vitality was a start, but nevertheless, incomplete.

Sagisō cast her awareness to her chakra network, which throbbed disapprovingly at her reckless usage of it. It further bemoaned her actions with pain as she began to loosen the floodgates, letting trickles grow into free-flowing streams. She was careful to regulate the amount of chakra she let flow through her chakra network. It was still sore from the stress of the Deadly Flower Dance and she didn't want to exacerbate any injuries. If anything, the Wind Shadow and techniques like it ensured she was extremely familiar with how to damage her own chakra network and the extent of damage it could handle. Her particular brand of self-harm was showing its benefits.

Chakra became the final component. Crawling through her chakra network—which was itself closely intertwined with her internal organs—Sagisō's chakra joined her breathing and blood flow, effecting a trinity of spirit, vitality, and essence. Sagisō retained harmony for several seconds, allowing the tripartite-flows to begin restoring her being. As her fatigue began to vanish, her senses began to recover their acuity. Unfortunately, though her fatigue and dullness of perception were edging off, the pain remained as present as ever, amplified even, as her body was no longer too numb to fully register it.

"Ow!" An insidious hiss accompanied the slow opening of Sagisō's eyes as she sat up.

The distraction shattered her harmonization, and exhaustion slumped onto her shoulders. Sagisō drooped and her head lolled forward. She immediately noticed two things: one, her lack of functional clothing, and two, the copious amounts of blood, dark, sticky, and all but bake-glazed over her body. Sagisō estimated that, though the layer of blood would've protected her skin from direct heat, there would be a number of first-degree burns; but, on the bright side, it appeared the burns had stopped the bleeding by glazing the wounds shut.

'Not too bad', she determined. A generous application of salve and bandaging would take care of her external injuries, but she would need to take it easy for a while because she wasn't certain she'd avoided internal injury. Nothing felt out of place, but she would need to double-check with the Byakugan.

Gradually, Sagisō made herself comfortable. She avoided sharp movements that could potentially reopen her wounds or crack the blood-film that coated them. Then she turned to Amari, who seemed to have arrived at her side at some point during her recovery. She sported a small, conniving smile as she coughed, wetting her thought, and spoke.

"Not bad. I didn't think you'd gotten that good with the Jasmine Flame. How many variants have you mastered? Well, before that I need you to help me apply this—Oi, Shaqing!"

A wry smile quirked Sagisō's lips as she noticed her sister seemed a bit distracted.

"My eyes are up here."

After Jirayia moved, Orochimaru didn’t stop he’s trek, stabbing Gamabunta’s head with his diamond cutting blade, blood gushing from the wound. Albeit not his intended target, did manage to do something. Looking to the side, his eyes set on pervy sage’s new position.

“A Tool must be used to the best of it’s ability.” Orochimaru said sword still in his mouth. “From what I hear, he quite enjoyed the opportunity...kehehehe...”

Just then, orochimaru’s body was yanked toward the head of the Sannin, the long throat reeling it back like a fishing hook, using the sword as an anchor. As the body narrowed in, the bones that were bulging out of his throat began to snap off, seeing ah the throat they were attached to reduced in size with every passing glimpse. As it reach back to his head, all the bone slabs he generated from his coil were squeezed out, making a makeshift wall of bones harder than steel.

The flames bombarded his steadfast wall of bones, the bones cracking and breaking from the heat. As the last bullet struck, the formation crumbled into ash, Orochimaru with a bloodied Grass Halberd in hand, walked out from the destruction.

“Age has not been kind to you, Jirayia. Something that basic will never do any good. How about I teach you how true combat should be done?”

Orochimaru planned a new strategy. One that was to make Jirayia have his hands too full to use handseals. He charged forward, thrusting Grass Halberd forward for a powerful sword strike.

Manda meanwhile was freed up without Orochimaru on his head. Taking an abrupt tackle from Gamabunta, the snake hissed, deciding burrow under the ground now that Jirayia’s hair justu was severed. While underground, he was allowed to remove his tail from under Gamabunta, lining himself for a perfect Torso shot. He dove out from underground, mouth nearly wide enough to eat him whole! The blindside along with Orochimaru’s stab to his head should give him a lot to think about. Perhaps too much.

........

Palentra was appalled by the reasoning of this masked man. Hiding from a much more powerful predator in a cave was one thing. But allowing this Anbu to prey on her children? Out of the question. She didn’t dodge. Her twin tails riled up as he approached. In a flash, her right tail hitting the ground.

*BOOM*

The deep sound of the tail smacking the ground caused rumbling from deep under the ground. Suddenly, a large rock face erupted directly in front of her. Kou and his brother hid their heads in her fur as the wall intercepted the shot, taking the sword strike.

“You will not be allowed to harm this family...”

*BOOM*

Her second tail hit the ground, a much bigger rock face erupting behind the anbu, exactly parallel to the facing he would be stuck in.

“...Ever again.”

*BOOM* *BOOM*

both tails hit the ground at the same time, the rock walls suddenly rocketing toward each other at blinding speeds. In under a second, they’d smash into each other, sandwiching the anbu and destroying their attack for good.

......

As the cloaking veil was lifted from the anbu, a few seconds passed before a rustling was heard nearby. From the trees above them came eight figures, each donning sound headbands and camp garb. Without a doubt the sound ninja that were to meet them. They approached cautiously, their face masks hiding all their facial expressions except their stern eyes, which eyed the group before looking back to the head anbu.

“One is missing.”

......

Hama’s lips curled, seeing Tsuki fall into her hands like molding clay. The elder Yuki turned around with a sway, flicking her hair back and materializing and ice needle in her hand, seemingly filing her nails with it.

“If you wanted to have something unique, then I’d have you try to think for yourself to make one. But darling, you’ve been left to your own devices for so long and squandered so many years of potential. We are making up for lost time.”

Frowning at her nails and flicking the needle into the air, Hama examines Tsuki, putting a hand on her hip and another to her chin.

“Have you ever sown a dress or quilted before Tsuki?”

Amari was happy to see her sister was alright. While Sagisō was talking to her, she looked over Sagisō's body to check just how bad the damage had been; however, her eyes seemed to linger in one area of the body in particular and Sagisō obviously noticed. Amari blushed profusely at this fact. "What? I wasn't... Oh, ointment for the burn! Yeah, I'll help you apply it I guess..." Amari looked over towards her other burn victim as he seemed to wake up. He seemed to be desperate for water, but other than that his injuries didn't look bad. He could probably wait till after she was done helping Sagisō, but... "Hey Yiz- er Roulan. Since you're getting that ointment, any chance you have some water for your... friend?" She didn't care that much, but she didn't want to hear him moan for water much longer and she figured it was the least she could do since she had just scorched him and kinda ignored him on this entire trip.

"Water...?"

Truth be told, she didn't. The only thing in her storage seals were weapons and tools; general things related to the act of combat or aftercare. The essentials: food, water, and clothing were not things she saw fit to carry. All three were easily scavenged from the surroundings; so, she saw no need to stock up on them. However, that said Water wouldn't be too hard to find.

"Give me a few."

Steadying her breathing, Sagisō recaptured her harmony. Breath, Blood and Chakra were one, moving in synchrony to restore her stamina. Several seconds passed before Sagisō finally felt comfortable enough to active the Byakugan. She swept the area with her vision and in a matter of moments had located a water source.

"Shaqing, there's an underground reservoir beneath us it's only a few meters down, think you can dig down there?"

Sagisō suspected this was apart of the same water system that fed the reservoirs of the Leaf Village. It only made sense they'd encounter it as they were hardly an hour's travel from the village.

"If you can wait on the ointment for just a little bit Roulan then I can dig up the water for sure." Amari didn't like that she had to keep her sister waiting, but she thought getting water would be easy enough. She used the spade end of her staff to start digging a hole into the ground where Sagisō had said the water was.

Once she was about a meter down she heard a cracking noise from deep underground. It started to grow louder and she realized just what was happening. The explosions she made must have made the ground above the water unstable. Before the ground could give out beneath the three of them, she grabbed Sagiso and pulled her away from the drop zone, leaving Katsuo to drop straight into the reservoir below. In all fairness, he should have been a little more specific when he asked for water.

"So Roulan, you still need that ointment applied?"

Sagisō's lips became a line; and, her gaze curious, she watched amusedly as the ground collapsed and swallowed Katsuo. She had noticed, in advance, the ground caving in on itself due to the Byakugan, but hadn't really seen fit to notify the others. The collapse wasn't abrupt enough to pose a threat to Amari and even Katsuo, virtually helpless, would be fine by her estimates. Since there didn't seem to be a problem, Sagisō decided not to comment on the sitch.

"Yea...that'd be nice."

With a negligible burst of chakra, Sagisō retrieved a vial of the Hyūga Clan's Secret Ointment. Once she got down applying that, some bandages would be in-order. That should tide her over until they got back to Nadeshiko.

Katsuo was still not completely in touch with reality, and as the earth crumbled away beneath him, he couldn’t help but almost enjoy the momentary feeling of weightlessness...that is-until he plunged into a deep pit of water.

“Wha?!-...fresh water? Must be some type of reservoir...”

The sudden dip in water awakened Katsuo’s senses. Rather than worry about his current situation, he instead relished in the few moments he was fully submerged, gulping down mouthful’s of the plentiful resource.
After doing so, he resurfaced, taking a deep breath in to clear his lungs.

“...thank...you...”

Katsuo muttered in a slightly more audible tone than prior, genuinely thankful for the approach Amari had taken.
The water helped ease the burn of his damaged skin a great deal, allowing the boy to properly focus his thoughts.

“Mom would lose her mind if she ever found out this was the first thing I did in my act of rebellion...”

Tsuki
Truth be told, the Yuki-nin was surprised at how easy it was to get Hama talking. Tsuki began to think to herself when she heard her mentor's comments about making up for lost time.

Do I really have that much potential? I mean I'm growing at a fast pace, but I don't think I'll amount to some great kunoichi...

Getting out of her head for a moment, the icy kunoichi took notice of her mentor's question. It was certainly an unusual question to ask, but it wasn't outlandish enough for Tsuki to answer.

"No...my mother left before she could teach me either of those skills," As the words came out her mouth, she realized that she said more than was necessary, but decided to share more anyway, "I should probably mention now that I grew up by myself since my parents left for a mission when I was two and never return due to their deaths. Made for a lonely childhood..."
Seiun
It came as a surprise to Seiun that B.O.S.E.C's changes went beyond appearance. For a lack of better words, the rogue shinobi found the AI's voice to be clearer, less interrupted by glitches. That wasn't to say that the glitches were eradicated since the former Ame-nin definitely saw the occasional glitch that B.O.S.E.C's body underwent. Still, he was relatively impressed with his AI's new look and dialect, even if there was obvious room for improvement.

Turned down..? I'm not quite sure how that's supposed to work, but I'll let you do what you intended...

Raiku finished evactuating the people nearby and thought about what he should do next.

Hmmm, I guess I can find out where the Sound prisoners are. The Leaf probably has it under control but I don't want Kiro to be taken by Orochimaru or anything.

Raiku walked around and saw Fugaku finishing off a giant snake. It seemed like it was gonna die any moment but Raiku would prefer it dead sooner rather than later. He summoned a crow clone and they both began doing hand seals. The clone performed an water style jutsu to spray oil inside the snake and the real Raiku sent out a fireball jutsu. Ramer also helped by adding wind, giving enough flames to finish the snake off and leave it a steamy, burnt corpse.

Once the snake stopped moving Raiku released his clone and looked at his clan head.

"Lord Fugaku, do you perhaps know where Kiro is? I'm sure the higher-ups have taken care of him but it's better to be safe than sorry."

“Yeah, i’ll Take that as a no.” Hama said, brushing off the potential childhood trauma in Tsuki’s words. “The ice needle is like a sowing thread, remember? This not only covered the needle itself, but what it’s pulling. Watch.”

Hama sent her needle floating by Tsuki’s face, a thing strand of chakra seen dangling from the far end of the needle.

“With chakra, you can sow anything into a beautiful tapestry...”

Suddenly, the needle went to work. It sprialed and shot all across the air and extremely fast speeds. The eye couldn’t keep up with the needle as it showed a structure before their very eyes. The needle 3D printed what appeared to be an ice shield, similar to what a medival knight would use.

“Now you might be asking, ‘oh gorgeous senpai, why would we need to do this if we can just user our Yuki genes to make them?’ Well I’m glad you asked. Ice can be brittle, unreliable. But when woven so particularly and calculated like this, it acts like veins controlling a muscle. So while a normal ice shield breaks...”

That’s when she materialized four ice knives from her hands, shooting them at the shield. The shield bounced them off as if they hadn’t even touched it, scattering their pieces all over the ground.

“...The masterwork holds.”

B.O.S.E.C.’s Mouth grew wider as the entity smiled to Seiun’s answer to it’s question.

The entity expressed a newfound sense of wit, one absent from before the upgrade. Gahedra reached out on its own, probably due to the A.I.’s will, forming a hammock. The purple ghost like aberration glitched to said hammock, mocking laying down on it.

Amari took the ointment from Sagisō and started applying it to her while trying to idly chat to take her mind off the fact that she was currently applying ointment to the naked body of the person she's had a crush on since forever. "So to answer your question from earlier, outside of the base, I've gotten up to three offensive variations to the white jasmine flame and one defensive variation. I have ideas for a few more, but so far I have not been able to actually do much with them. I will figure them out though, after all, if you can try and figure out a way to use 16 shuriken all at once for a combat advantage, I can certainly come up with ways to use my own expertise. I also need to work slightly on control, I tend to go a bit overboard with my usage of chakra, I didn't mean to burn you this bad after all."

Amari was talking way more than she usually did in conversations and it was definitely helping her not to think about the current situation. Luckily the ointment seemed to be helping Sagisō's wounds quite a bit. After she was done applying it, she decided it would probably be a good idea to check on Katsuo since she did unexpectedly drop him in a reservoir. Then she could continue to help patch up her sister, "Hey Katsuo, you ok in there? Do you need help getting out?"

With Amari to help her apply the ointment, Sagisō could focus entirely on meditation. The process went smoothly and she'd even call it soothing. She could feel the fatigue being squeezed from her muscles which, despite their injuries, now felt comfortable enough to put back to use.

Sagisō opened her eyes as her sister moved to check up on Katsuo, the latter sporting injuries as well from the results of their fisticuffs. It was a far cry from their initial battle at the Chunin exams. Though both were spars, this one had been far more serious. After all, this time she had something to prove. The girl had not forgotten Katsuo's silent dismissal of her back in the Leaf. The latter had shown not even the slightest interest when she revealed him as one of her 'husband candidates'. It was a stinging blow, but not one she couldn't understand. It was only natural that the boy too was uninterested in those weaker than him. Now though, that had been proved otherwise. A win would've validated her strength even more; but, this turn out would also do her strength justice.

It was without further thought that Sagisō returned to her meditation. Whatever came next would be a matter for after their recovery.

Watching as the snake was burnt to a crisp, Fugaku turned to the young Uchiha who had questioned him. It would appear Raiku was concerned about the location of the Sound prisoners. More specifically, the boy he had been tasked with checking on from time-to-time. Had he grown attached to the prisoner now? Raiku was truly a kind-hearted boy and believed there was good in all those that shared his bloodline. Even the most flawed ones if a report from the other day held any truth to it. Perhaps it would be in his best interest to relieve Raiku of that task.

“If this is about the routine check ups, then there is no need for you to concern yourself with that prisoner today. In any case, I haven’t been informed of his whereabouts, but I presume Lady Tsunade has already taken the necessary precautions. Seeing as the Hyūga have been holding the prisoners, they would know. However, I doubt they would just openly reveal that information to just anyone with the enemy having already infiltrated the village.”

Fugaku paused for a moment after explaining why there was no need for Raiku to go all the way to the Hyūga. Though, Fugaku didn’t expect that to deter Raiku, nor did he plan to stop him. If Raiku still went, it would’ve been for another reason altogether. Crossing his arms, Fugaku turned away and looked towards the direction of the three way deadlock as he spoke once more.

“It is still dangerous with that snake around. If you do end up going to the Hyūga, tell them I asked. Just don’t be disappointed...”

“It appears our associate has yet to arrive with the last one. Perhaps due to some difficulties. However, we are running low on time so the rest is up to you. Would you prefer to wait a little longer or take what you have? Two is better than none I’d say.”

One of the Root members had responded to the group of Sound ninja underneath the pouring rain. The dark clouds overhead helped create a tense atmosphere before the two groups. It felt as if they were treading on thin ice and one slip was all that was needed for things to go sideways. Of course, the Root ninja were already prepared, with two of them staying especially close behind the prisoners. They had been placed a few feet apart from each other for extra measure. Kiro himself seemed to be deep in focus as well.

————————

Seeing as it’s fellow summon had taken quite the injury, a part of Katsuyu attached itself to Gamabunta, beginning the healing process. As for the other parts of Katsuyu, considering Manda wasn’t able to rid itself completely of her smaller duplicates, acid continued to spread over Manda, weakening its strong scales. The rest of her main body had nearly reformed as well and was prepared to launch a much larger acid shot when an opening arose.

Down towards the Sannin, Orochimaru had finally revealed the powers of his new host body. The manipulation of his skeletal structure. It granted him great versatility in both offense and defense. More importantly, this showed that he had been forced to transition into a new vessel after the recent invasion. It would be a few more years before Orochimaru required another one. Not that Tsunade planned to give him that long.

Having been mostly a spectator to their fight, Tsunade formed some hand seals as Orochimaru was preoccupied with the flames. When he charged at Jiraiya, with sword in hand, Tsunade moved towards him with a balled up fist ready to a land one of her signature crushing blows to his side.

“Don’t forget about me, Orochimaru!”

The sound ninja paused, looking to his compatriots, talking nonverbally. After they nodded, the ninja looked forward at the root member, his eyes narrowing.

“We will settle for these two then. Give them here.”

The ninja cautiously walked toward them, making hand singles for his allies to go secure Tayuya and Kiro, the masked ninja rushing in to grab them by the arms.

.......

“Don’t forget about me, Orochimaru!”

Having forgotten about the forgettable Tsunade, Orochimaru was bashed right in the chest my her powerful fist. This sent the Sannin flying back, plowing through the tops of many buildings, skipping like a rock until plummeting into the upper section of the ninja academy. After several seconds, the dust settled, revealing Orochimaru’s body laying on the ground...so it seemed.

Suddenly, the body rose back up like a zombie, Orochimaru’s face having a a big tear in the the middle of it. His body other than the tear seemed completely unharmed.

“Now Tsunade, Don’t you know it’s rude to interrupt?”

........

The last remaining snake, held by the Akimichi was all of a sudden flanked by electrified shuriken. The already dying snake was then treated to a a wave of electricity that swamped the creature, it’s body exploding from the pressures it received. It’s body fell into three parts: the tail, the middle body, and the head. The middle stayed in the Akimichi’s hands while the remainder flopped to the ground.

"Who says I have not, Orochimaru?"
Jiraiya had already anticipated that Orochimaru would shrug off the fireballs, but they had merely been a distraction and it was helped much when Tsunade rocked him back with one of those thunderous strikes of hers. While Orochimaru seemed to shrug it off, while he had been in the process of standing up with his new hole in the face, Jiraiya already launched what could only best be described as "toad gunk" as successive vollies of it aimed to splat right against the rogue Sannin. On contact, they'd stick against the target and each other in an effort to form a binding lock as Jiraiya aimed to pin Orochimaru in place and render him immobile.

While Orochimaru's sword had drawn blood on the large head of Gamabunta, the damage had been mitigated to a degree as Jiraiya had left a patch of his chakra-hardened hair right on the spot the sword struck. This along with Katsuya's medial aid helped deal with the pain of the blow as Gamabunta worked to focus on the immediate threat as Manda borrowed and attempted to strike from under the toad summon. With the building in mind, Gamabunta shifted to the one spot he knew he'd avoid damage to it....moving over the entry hole where Manda had burrowed. He aimed to slash at the neck of the snake just as it poked out in effort to eat where it had once stood though subtly had pored some of its oil into the hole Manda's body tunneled into from the entry hole...

"Easy jackass, I am perfectly capable of walking...." Tayuya spat as she moved her wrists back but had began to walk to the Oto side of this little meeting all the same as the previous convo seemed to imply they'd be happy to take them even with Zaku unaccounted for. Tayuya had no love loss for Zaku, as so long as the herself and of course the main prize got to Orochimaru all else was inconsequential.

Though what had been the hold up with that bastard anyway?

Stab!

The ANBU's mark blade stabbed into the stone wall formed to defend the summon and its flock, its blade passed through the stone like a knife through butter as the red marks upon it had began to shine. However, whatever the ANBU seemed to have planned seemed to hit a brick wall in almost the literal sense as a second slab appeared behind him and both closed in at rapid speed thought he ANBU made no effort to flee.

Splat!

On first glance, the two stones seemed to smash together and squish the ANBU between them. For a minute silence filled the air, but upon closer look there seemed to be a gap that held the two stones apart and soon enough his voice spoke up once more.

"There truly is nothing more special, nothing more pure than a mother's love~"
Suddenly, chains shot out and smashed ends of both stone pillars as the ANBU stood unharmed; having summoned these chains it seemed from the red markings on his swords. The ANBU glanced down, his mask hid his expression though his tone kept that eerie chill if not gleeful malice all the same.

"That is what they say, but such strength is an illusion. No greater lie in this world. The bonds of love and affection are fragile, and once they shatter it gives way to true despair. Allow me to demonstrate just how frail it all is~" The ANBU said with a giddy eagerness before he shot the chains ahead and aimed to try and bind the large summon in place along with the cargo.

Sakura scanned to where she heard Taiyo claim he spotted them, and sure enough she saw some familiar if not distant figures as the sounds of battle and shrieks of snakes filled the air as she saw them pinned down and knew they had to act quickly to aid as she nodded towards Taiyo.

"Yeah I see them! Let's go!" Sakura said as she scaled down the wall quick as her legs could carry her.

----------
"You'd better be giving me a promise of what is to come and not a tease, I'll be extra critical of what you do in the exams with this kind of self hype so give me something to look forward to~" Tomiko said back with a grin as she had taken it in jest though seemed fueled by Mori's little hints at what he had up his sleeves as they moved along the terrain and the crew got a view of the various masses of rock just outside the village as the stunning formations made their collective jaws drop. While Ren had been a bit more composed, even he had to admit he enjoyed a taste outside the slums for a change.

Though the topic changed to the name of the sled, as the crew and Tomiko thought it over.

"Does this thing need a na..." Ren had began to say before Naomi quickly cut him off.

"That sounds lovely!" Naomi said with a big smile as Mr. Snugglebottom nodded in approval.

"I don't know, seems a bit...on the nose isn't it?" Jirou asked, though this caused Hoshi to snicker. "I mean have we ever been a subtle group?"

Tomiko chimed in as well. "I think the name is just fine personally, if anything the simple name gives it a charm, and with further tweaking we can make it more than just the surface name expectation~" Tomiko said with a cheeky grin as they sailed along the ground and picked up even more speed.

----------
"I mean I see no reason to really wait. Folks are gonna be there now or later, and I think striking while the idea is hot would be best." Kenji said, as he cared not when to make the move but figured hey there had been no reason to really wait and the sooner they could begin the move of Taji's things the better it'd be for them. Aisha and her transformed companions seemed to adopt a similar mindset as they'd soon speak up.

"Yeah, my buddies are transformed and raring to go so I say we go for it now!" Aisha said with a toothy smirk as she seemed eager and both her duplicates in Luna and Sky nodded in agreement.

----------
Madoka raised an eyebrow as Yasu seemed to make it clear he had a mind to stay with her, she had been ready to object as she figured Yasu shouldn't have to stick around here for her sake but one look at his eyes seemed to tell her he had made his decision and she had no ability to change it as she thought it over before a sigh escaped her lips as she faced Yasu with her usual blank expression.

"Well, I won't stop you. Free to do what you want...thanks." Madoka said, as a small smile escaped her lips at the end, a show of gratitude from the support her offered before she began to walk to the outpost.

“Wait a minute. You didn’t say please.”

In a swift movement, before Tayuya could go far, the Root members besides the prisoners grabbed the Sound ninja attempting to take them. They would place a paralysis sealing tag on each of them, effectively rendering those ninja immobile for the foreseeable future. Having been cloaked with their own camouflage jutsu, multiple more Root members suddenly revealed themselves right beside the group of Sound ninja. They were now surrounded and outnumbered twelve to eight. Immediately, they all moved to wipe out the group of Sound ninja.

————————

“Oh please, since when did you start caring about manners?”

Perhaps Tsunade should just stick to what she knew best and continue to throw some more devastating punches instead. Although Tsunade had followed him to the top of the Academy, she wouldn’t let up as the building had been long since evacuated already. Seeing as his chest remained undamaged, Tsunade figured it would be in her best interest to aim for the head instead. Now with Jiraiya attempting to immobilize him, Tsunade took this opportunity to run up and knock the snake's head clean off.

Orochimaru didn’t bother to dodge the oil that had smothered his body, the funk sticking to him and bogging him down. His only response was to chuckle. His chuckling became a series of of mad laughs that shook onlookers to the very core. As Tsunade came to punch him, his mouth opened wide, hands from the inside gripping his mouth, forcing it wide as he shed his skin. Orochimaru jumped out of the skin suit he made, slithering in an arc over Tsunade, to the point where he could just barley phase by her ear. Orochimaru landed behind her, close enough to be within arm’s reach

“Now...why fight me? Why fight at all? Wouldn’t you rather enjoy what’s left of your life? Perhaps...with your brother by your side?”

Whispering these sweet seductive words to her, the Snake Sannin said this out of earshot of jirayia.

“Let’s be honest...you left the village for a reason. You could enjoy your days with your family back, your whole family.”

Orochimaru seemed to be taking less of an offensive stance, trying to gain Tsunade’s favor, even to the point of holstering Grass Halberd. After all...his greatest weapon was not the titanium sword, but his silver Tongue.

Manda meanwhile burrowed our of a oil covered hole, the snake seeming mildly annoyed by this display, narrowly avoiding a slice of a blade.

“What?! Just going to make me a bit dirty?!”

The snake wasn’t going to take this laying down. Now that he was agonizingly close to Gamabunta, he aimed to bite his exposed belly. The belly was of course known as the tastiest part.

.......

“What...?!”

The sound had been double crossed, root ninja appearing from out of the woodwork, surrounding them. The sound ninja groaned in irritation.

“I knew you were not to be trusted...Lord Orochimaru thought so as well!”

From behind them came several dozen more sound ninja of varying rank, genin to chunnin. They were ready to fight for what they were promised!

They lashed out against the ninja, throwing kunai and water type justu. They seemed to mainly aim for Kiro while only five or six aimed for Tayuya...a noticeable margin.

From behind, A chakra slash has stabbed right through the chest of the root member carrying Kiro.

“This could have been smoother...”

Kabuto merges from behind the fallen root ninja, looking down to Kiro with a look of visual regret. It was as if he was disgusted that all of this was to go after him of all people. The right hand man of Orochimaru adjusted his glasses, staring him down.

“Your a handful...and this time I mean literally. Let’s move it.”

A beefy masked sound ninja grabbed Kiro hoisting him over his soldier while the other were effected by paralysis and unable to assist. They would break toward the sound, the course of battle hiding them from their pursuers.

Palentra’s eyes widened as the chains came toward her. She reached her hands out to grab them from the air, but before she could...

*CLANG!*

She grabbed the chains, the force being difficult to ignore as he felt them almost trying to magnetize into place. despite her impeccable size. Kou and his brother huddled in her fur as she staggered, shaking, as they didn’t know if they’d even survived this encounter with this freak show of a man. Feeling them shaking on her, she knew they were afraid. Her heart sank. She remembered another time where her brood had been like this. The day Manda and a horde of snakes came and-

...

“No.”

Palentra refused to have this go like it did back then. Her tails lit up with chakra, the tips growing long, thing chakra blades extending dozens of feet from the tip itself. They whipped down, knocking the shackles away In a pair of blows.

“A mother will protect her children no matter what they face. This love cant be destroyed by kunai or bonded by chains. Your power is nothing to that!”

Her eyes became fierce, like she was about to hunt him down. Placing Zaku on top of her, she made several handsigns with her open hands.

“Earth Style: Tudigong’s Batterings Ram!”

The rat mama suddenly stomped on the ground, a giant piece of the earth rising up. It was long and cylindrical, with many intricate carvings and symbols in it. It had most noticeably, the face of a dragon on the very front of the battering ram, colored vibrantly in greens, yellows, and golds as opposed to the earthen color of the rest of the ram. It stood well over the trees at 30 meters tall and over 80 meters long.

As she whipped he tails on the ground, the battering ram instantly bashing through the forest, decemating everything in it’s path. It would pulverize the Anbu’s Entire location, destroying everything in front of Palentra to leave a clear way out.

Furījia stood along the Leaf's roofs. Anxiety was evident in the pinch of her brow; and, the source of that anxiety lay in heaps of rumble, fractured, and broken. Despite their ruination, the buildings were noticeably lacking in a corpse factor. Although spilled blood stained the floors, the village's swift reaction had avoided deaths so far as she knew. That achievement could hardly be attributed to her; after all, she'd been little more than a spectator as the Clan had spread out, moving in concert with all the other Clans to complete the evacuation.

She kept her eyes peeled, activating her Byakugan in preparation for what was to come. The village's simple—albeit effective—emergency protocol strategy had always dictated that as soon as the citizens were evacuated to the safe zones, the full force of the village would be mustered to drive out enemies. Now, that was going into effect: Jonin from every corner of the village seemed to be closing in on Orochimaru's location—the last hot-spot of enemies in the village.

When Orochimaru got behind her, the Hokage was about to swing her arm back and smash him right in the jaw. However, Tsunade hesitated when she heard the snake mention her deceased brother. Orochimaru had been there to witness Nawaki get killed by an explosion. The snake had also been there when Tsunade failed to save the life of a man she loved. He knew how much those people meant to her. Having turned around, Tsunade now glared at the snake before attempting to engage him in close combat and some conversation...

“What you’re saying is impossible. All lies. They‘re dead and I can never see them again.”

Though the Hokage knew she should just ignore him, a small part of Tsunade found herself believing there might be substance to his words. After all, Orochimaru hadn’t been so callous back then. Orochimaru was the one who recovered a certain item from Nawaki and even returned it to Tsunade. It was her grandfather’s necklace and the one she had once gifted Dan. The same necklace now present around her neck.

————————

“Were it so easy.”

That was the cold voice of the Root member Kabuto thought he had silenced. The only thing that fell to the ground was water, forming a growing puddle underneath Kabuto, Kiro, and the beefy Sound ninja. The liquid from the water clone quickly began to spin and take the shape of a whirlpool. The rotation of the water grew faster as the whirlpool aimed to trap and suck them up as it grew in size with assistance from the heavy rain. With another flick of hand seals, the Root ninja would add lightning to the whirlpool as well.

'This guy...'

Kiro had found Kabuto's greeting a bit amusing, but he didn't exactly get the time to respond. Seeing as he was already a bit annoyed at being picked up like a child, Kiro used his own lightning chakra to defend himself while (intentionally or not) shocking at least the arm of the big guy carrying him. At the very least, that should weaken his grasp just enough for Kiro to get out of it while not injuring the Sound escort too much.

Meanwhile, though the Sound did have the greater quantity, Root had by far the better quality. Hand-picked by Danzo, many of these shinobi used secret techniques to combat the vast amount of opponents. As Root continued to fight off the increased numbers of the Sound, the scent of gunpowder would slowly spread across the battlefield...

"Much as I am curious about what you may be trying to feed her, I feel the need to cut in."
While Orochimaru seemed to try and whisper something to the Sannin had already made his move as a clone with Rasangan in hand appeared behind the snake as he spoke of whatever alleged convo he tried to spark with Tsunade. Whatever he had been selling he knew it was one nobody should bite and even without context Jiraiya aimed to seize the opening and tried to deliver a crippling blow to the bastard of the sound.

Gamabunta quickly puffed its cheeks as Manda charged him, and quickly the boss summon struck as he fired successive water bullets right towards that sadistic mug of the demon snake as he aimed to blast it mid charge.

Goddamn, a fucking set up!

Tayuya internally cursed as she quickly moved to a defensive position; already having bitten her thumb and drawn a flute as she quickly summoned a single Doki out, the one with a club in this case, as it assumed a guard position before her and Kiro while she eyed these Root operatives that had them and their escort surrounded.

"If we make it out of this, you'd better kiss the fucking ground Lord Orochimaru walks on given all he has risked up to now for our sake." Tayuya said with a hushed whisper as she prepared for battle. Seems there'd be no trip to ANBU without a fight, and she had no qualms about that.

Then four eyes showed up.

Tayuya normally would have made a joke at this, given she tended to find his open smugness off putting, but in this scenario she welcomed a strong ally. Kabuto seemed to prioritize Kiro which was not unexpected as she quickly moved to follow them and played a tune to get her Doki to guard position behind them.

Anyone or anything came near them, he was to smash without hesitation. They needed to go and hopefully the other nin could slow these backstabbing bitches long enough to get out of here.

-----
"A feisty one, careful thought get me too excited and things tend to get a little crazy~" The ANBU said, as his mask hid whatever expression he had at the sudden counter attempt as he needed to answer in kind.

"Earth Style: Dante's Wall Jutsu!"

While he recalled his chains back into the blade as the marks on the sword faded, the Genjutsu cover would mask the noises and sighs within this as he mounted his defense; though he had to be pressed for time all the same as much fun as this was. Quickly a large slab of Earth rose up from under the ANBU's feet as a giant Earth wall rose that seemed to put itself in the path of the battering ram as sure enough the two forces of literal nature clashed. And quickly, it seemed the ram seemed the superior force as it based through the wall and likely the ANBU's body had he remained in place.

This summon had some power to her moves, a slip up could spell the end for him.

For now though, he had used the momentum of the wall he stood upon to jump just as it had fully ascended which had given him a boost to avoid it as he sailed down to the large summon. A chain shot out from under his sleeve fired towards the pair as he aimed to lodge it towards the surface of the mother's head and if he managed to land it pull towards the knocked out cargo on top.

Her blackened blade hung at her side, its edge unsheathed to the elements: rivulets of water streamed down her arms and darkened as they ran over her sword, forming a pitch-black puddle as they dripped from its tip. The aromas of nature were released as rain wet the dirt, rich petrichor mixing, and masking the ashen scent of gunpowder. Her own masking was pitch black and wickedly hooked: its sharp beak marked her as a Bird-masked Anbu and three ashy, feathery marks adorned either side of her face.

The battle raged around her like a storm, but she reigned above it: like an eagle soaring above the clouds, eyeing for its preferred prey among the passel below. She found the feast lacking... There was only a single snake worth its fangs: the rest, mere worms aspiring to be snakes. Irregardless, it was the worms that she was here to accommodate; for, those worms would till the soil and become the nourishment for the Roots.

Beneath her mask, the desperate wriggles of a worm attracted her gaze. She moved swiftly, painting a black curtain through the air as her blade cleaved into Tayuya's summoned Doki. To the beast's credit, her sword only dug a few inches into its beefy body, but even that was enough for the Bird-mask's Explosive sword-style. The Anbu drew back, her sword stroke playing in reverse as the black curtain ignited with a concatenation of explosions. The brilliant sword-stroke lit the clearing, the wake of the blast washing outward with such force that even the rain had stopped pouring, awestruck.

The bird-masked Anbu looked towards her handiwork: a smoking gouge where the Doki and user once stood. If she was satisfied with the results, she made no indication. Instead, she turned to face the Uchiha-worm and primed her sword for another strike.

There was a strained silence as she eyed her next target; a palpable tension in the air, thick with the smell of ash and now, burnt flesh. Then the Anbu inexplicably lowered her sword and, as if waiting for its cue, the rain began to fall once more. The Anbu turned, levying her gaze in the direction Kabuto had come from. Beneath her mask, she frowned. Ironically, the snake had been tailed. Her gaze shifted, lingering on the prized Uchiha; but, she made a decision. The secrecy of the operation was far more important than its success.

She heaved a sigh that filled the air around her with ash and obscured her figure. The Ash-cloud ignited with the pop of a fire-cracker and released blinding light. When the smoke had cleared, the Anbu had vanished and under the cover of the flash, she had swiped one of the bodies of the fallen Sound Shinobi.

------

Although Yūgao had done well to track Kabuto this far out, her venture would need to end in failure to preserve the secrets of Root. As the purple-haired Anbu traveled through the forest, she would find herself suddenly attacked by a random Sound ninja that aimed to tackle her by dropping in from above. This was in-fact not a Sound Shinobi, or more precisely, it wasn't a living sound shinobi. Instead, it was a corpse that the bird-masked Anbu had stuffed with gunpowder and primed to explode.

Orochimaru grinned madly, noticing her hestitation to attack. The snake held out his hands as if he were about to announce some devious plot.

“Death is but a temporary setback...don’t forget why I was exiled from this little village in the first place...heheh.”

That’s when Jirayia cut in with his rasengan primed and ready in his hand. Orochimaru swiveled on his feet, his legs and body bending like rubber to curve around the oncoming hand before snapping off his body altogether, the lower half of his body he left with Jirayia exploding into dozens of venomous snakes, which would bite and snap at his exposed arm he put out attack with.

Meanwhile Orochimaru, who’s torso had now been willingly removed, had begun to grow back as a single long snake lower body. Landing with his new form on the other side of Jirayia, Orochimaru adjusted himself, looking over at the wall from the corner of his eye.

Looks like it’s time to wrap this up...

Manda meanwhile tanked the water bullets, biting through the pain and continued his trek, yelling as he rushed the gauntlet with a massive bite to Gamabunta’s gut to finish it. Biting Gamabunta, who tried to beat him with range instead of getting out of the way, Manda hardened his bite, his tail snaking up around him, trying to coil is now bitten prey so it couldn’t resist being devoured.

“Wind Style: Cyclone!”

Kabuto was no fool. A whirlpool required movement in one specific direction to make it a deadly funnel. But if the cyclone was spinning in the opposite direction...it would turn into nothing but a puddle of water, if anything at all.

The cyclone was released under Kabuto, the wind removing the water and carrying it safely around them before splashing it about to the forest outside, lightning crashing through the droplets and even vaporizing every trace there was even a whirlpool. Using the wind, Kabuto and his sound ninja that followed him safely made it to a thick tree branch to land on...that is...until Kiro decided to shock the man in a wave of teenage angst. The man let go of him whilst trying to calm his shocked body.

“Wh-WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?” The man yelled at him.

“If he wants to run with us, let him. Less effort on our end.” Kabuto responded before giving Kiro a near threatening glare. “...Just keep up.”

Kabuto then darted into the woods, the sound ninja battalion focusing on protecting his escape by handling the Root...which slowly began to appear to be stronger than their combined effort. It wouldn’t buy too much time.

.......

Palentra growled as her opponent had decided to fling themselves upwards, throwing a chain to nab her children from her. Thankfully, he had forgotten about her tails which were still glowing with chakra. In only a second, one tail swooped in and slashed at the chain, batting it to the side while the second aimed for a guillotine blow on the Anbu, who was in the air and away from any footing to kick off of to escape.

“You cannot win, accept your fate!”

“Don’t tell me a little shock is enough to make you wail like an overgrown child.”

In a smug manner, Kiro responded to the beefy man after landing on the ground. Having escaped the clutches of the Sound ninja, it soon dawned on Kiro that both he and Tayuya were nearly freed from their three month imprisonment in the Leaf. All they had to do now was follow Kabuto’s lead. Kiro showed nothing more than a little smirk as he faced the threatening gaze of Kabuto before moving after him. As he did so, Kiro made sure to respond to Tayuya, who had taken a guard position with her Doki.

“Hey Tayuya, try not to fall be— Oh shit!”

He had looked back at Tayuya just in time to see her and the Doki’s silhouette get eviscerated in a blinding light. An explosion so powerful that it lit up the entire battlefield, causing both sides to take notice. Kiro himself raised an arm over his face to cover himself from the force of the blast. When the light began to die down, Kiro found there remained nothing but burnt earth and the putrid smell of smoke in her place. It would take nothing short of a miracle for Tayuya to still be alive after that. The Doki would’ve been the only thing could’ve protected her from taking the full brunt of the attack.

However, before Kiro could even take a look around for her body, there was an eagle-eyed gaze which caught his own. The bird-masked ANBU, who presumably just murdered Tayuya in one fell swoop, now had him and Kabuto in her sights. The bastard who sent them here probably had orders to eliminate both of them should things go south, deal or not. After a tense moment, the ANBU strangely lowered her sword, finally allowing Kiro to take a breath of air no longer laden with killing intent.

‘These people are all monsters.’

After another brief gaze, the woman took her leave. Kabuto did as well, completely disregarding the loss of Tayuya. It was quite ironic considering her last words. For all the praise Tayuya had given Orochimaru, Kabuto spared not even spared a shred of consideration for her. The Sound clearly hadn’t come for Tayuya. Oddly enough, Kiro didn’t really know how to feel about her sudden death, but there really wasn’t much time to think about it.

‘This is it I suppose. See you around, Tayuya...’

Kiro then took one last glance at the Leaf village before turning his back to it as he fled with the Sound. From Hinagiku to this latest member, he had encountered quite a few monsters during his stay in Konoha. Even now, Kiro looked at the palm of one of his hands to find it still trembling. Though, it wasn’t due to fear. As Kiro looked forward once more, there was something else that he knew awaited him down this path.

‘That’s right. One day...’

Tsunade glared at Orochimaru, angry at herself for having hesitated. She knew the horrific reasoning behind his exile. If those experiments were part of his grand plan, then she wanted no part of it. Having avoided Jiraiya’s rasengan, Orochimaru had now reformed into a more snake like form, with his gaze somewhere else. Sensing the possibility he might be planning an escape, Tsunade jumped at Orochimaru once more, aiming downwards to crush his head with an axe kick of sorts.

“I hope you’re not planning to leave us so soon, Orochimaru!”

As Jiraiya's clone was bitten by the snakes, said clone would explode in a burst of wind, with a powerful shockwave that would try to slice and push the snakes away from them. The real Jiraiya also sensed like Tsunade that Orochimaru aimed to try and escape and had been quick to try and stall him as the clan heads and other ninja began to approach them.

His hardened chakra hair aimed to bind and insane the Snake Sannin, in the hopes it'd hold him long enough for Tsunade's thunderous kick to stun him or even knock him out to allow him to be brought to custody or even just end him here as the Leaf advanced closer. During this Gamabunta had drawn his blade sideways as the snake bit onto the blade rather than his gut, and when he tried to coil around him Gamabunta went bold and jumped with Manda around him as he aimed to slam him to the floor at full force and if he could pull the blade off to stab him once the impact hit Manda as he aimed to finish his rival summon.

MOTHER FUC....!!!
Tayuya had little time for well any other reaction, as her Doki swung for the Konoha-nin'a head but just missed as a sword slashed its gut; the blade did little but some surface damage, but that had merely been a set up as a thunderous boom shot the Doku back as the blade packed explosive punch to it. Tayuya's eyes widened as the beast came at her faster than she could react, and sure enough the giant demon fell on top as they smashed through a pair of trees as everything was consumed in a blinding flash.

"Fucking cock sucking cunt!"

Tayuya had not taken the landing well, her body was covered in part by the Doki; its landing on her right leg snapped it like a twig as she cursed out in agony, though the physical pain failed in comparison to what she saw as Kabuto nay whatever Oto-nin had not been cut down had began to flee, leaving her in the dust! Tayuya had no way to process this, nor the time as she tried to get a flute to her lips. She needed to get this Doki off her first and foremost, she needed to....needed to, she wasn't sure what but she needed to do something before the panic had a chance to set in!

-----
The ANBU had been quick to produce his own make-shift stand, as he made a clone and pushed off it just as the tail closed in to their frame as the clone was reduced to a puff of smoke and while he avoided the lethal blow a slight glancing shot as the ANBU spun in the air before it had crashed on top of a nearby tree; a part of his mask on the right side chipped off and upon closer inspection blood came from the forehead. Had the blow been enough to dispose of the threat?

A short moment of silence filled the air, before the figure stood on the top of the tree; having taken but a moment to wipe some blood from his forehead as he scanned it before he began to chuckle. This chuckle picked up momentum and soon descended in a mad laughter as the air seemed to carry this chill once more as he stared down the summon and the cargo; his mask chip exposed his right eye and exposed some red hair. The eye was ocean blue, but it gave a sample of his manic expression as it stared down his opposition as he seemed almost in a state of euphoria.

"Oh no this...this is too much, too good! Why stop now when it's just gotten to the fun part. Just promise not to perish too soon, I don't want the climax to be rushed!" The ANBU cackled, cackled as he had been beside himself and had quickly formed a series of hand signs before his gripped his blade which soon began to be coated with these new purple symbols as they took root before he jumped and stabbed his blade right into the ground at the base of the tree he once rested on.

"Ninja Art: Boundless Cycle of Sorrow!"
The markings traveled from the blade to the ground, as a seal began to take shape and shot forward along the ground to the giant and her cargo as what appeared to be a giant purple hexagon shape would take root under her. Once it had set, jolts of energy would blast and aim to try to bind them all in place in a rather painful seal; one designed to bind the subject in agony and keep them still under the force of that destructive surge.

“Why you little-“

Before the obtuse sound ninja could respond to Kiro, a sudden blast appeared behind them around Tayuya’s position. It was fierce, and since the stocky ninja had been briefly taken off guard by Kiro, he took the full brunt of he blast, vanishing in the light while Kabuto and the target escaped.

Kabuto didn’t bother looking back, focusing on the task at hand. He was told to bring back Kiro, Others were just a bonus. Knowing Kiro’s talent for getting himself into trouble one way or another, Kabuto had to keep an eye on him, because he always had a way of screwing up the plans that he was involved with...including the loss of Jirobo the last go around.

“Do we always have to sacrifice someone everytime we fetch you?” Kabuto said, his tongue drenched in sarcasm.

......

Palentra was shocked to see the man still kicking after the punishment he took...that and...laughing? What had her boys gotten themselves into?

That’s when she heard a booming of breaking buildings behind her. Turning away just for a glance, she saw something ghastly. Manda, the Tyrant snake. Here. Hunting other boss summons. Her eyes grew wide in fear. Kou noticed this pause, opening his eyes slightly.

“M-Mama?” Kou stuttered. “What are you-“

“We have to leave. NOW.”

She prepared her hands to make a reverse summon on the ground, but that’s when she was blindsided by the forming of a seal from right underneath her. Her hand was paralyzed, inches from making contact with the ground. The feeling of numbness working its way up her body. She cringed in pain, her head arching down as she tried to hold in a yell of pain. This...what kind of justu was this??

As Palentra arched her head, the unconscious Zaku began to tumble down it. Kou gasped, crawling after him before grabbing his wrist. The sound ninja fell over the side, dangling over the side of the Rat summon’s skull whilst Kou struggled holding him up, adding a second hand.

“How are...you so heavy...?!”

That’s when the seal worked itself up her body, making it all the way to where it hit Kou and his rat brother. He yelled out in agony, his brother squeaking out in pain as well. It was undbearable, like hooks imbedded your flesh and were twisting around. Kou, with tears in his eyes, looked down at Zaku, not wanting to let him go. That’s when he saw Palentra’s hand, still hovering over the ground just barley. He had one last ditch idea.

“S-Sorry boss...!”

Kou loosened his grip on Zaku, he older ninja falling off the side of Palentra. The scarf clad boy landed with a *THUNK!* on Palentra’s hand, the weight being enough to shift it a few more inches before...

*POOF!*

The reverse summon connected, a thick cloud of smoke rushing out. The seal began to dim as the targets had all of a sudden vanished from sight. Zaku, Kou, even the rat brother all disappeared.

......

Orochimaru was wrapped around by Jirayia’s thick hair binds within seconds, the Grey skinned Sannin however did not seem worried about this. As Tsunade came closer with her powerful kick, he made several hand signs smiling to his old teammates.

“Oh...but you see I already have. Let’s play a game shall we, heheh...haha...hahahaha!!”

The mad ninja open his mouth wide, looking up toward Tsunade as she slammed right into his exposed mouth. Suddenly, his body swelled up, his skin and muscles beginning to warp around her. That’s when he exploded, thousands upon thousands of white snakes raining down everywhere. He was disguising himself as one of them...but how could anyone tell which one was the real one?! Each one upon hitting the ground began to either burrow underground or slither into a building nearby, scattering as much as possible.

Meanwhile Gamabunta had gotten the edge on Manda, pulling an unexpected move: Approaching his constructing attack. In a well placed blow, the toad stabbed through Manda’s mouth, pinning him on the ground, unable to bite.

“...You had me while I was sluggish from all the food I ate before this, that’s all! You may have bested me this time with all your help, but you WILL be a tasty meal. It’s only a matter of time...! To hell with you!”

Manda, defeated, was summoned away with a cloud of smoke, signifying that he had left. The last snake summon finally being ridden from the village.

......
And Kai sank into a deep depression that seemed endless.

“Only if they are an incompetent bunch like the last few.”

Kiro retorted with a sly remark. Apparently, one of them had gotten killed by Raiku of all people. Something which Kiro would’ve considered pitiful a few months back. Even the two jinchuriki that showed up for him were more interested in tearing each other apart. Speaking of those two, Kiro figured reporting what exactly had happened to the jinchuriki would be some useful information to the Sound if they didn’t know already. Perhaps this could lead to another opportunity at killing that psychotic bitch. Either way, their forces were a mess as far as Kiro was concerned.

“I’ll give you guys credit though. Today was the perfect day for this.”

He was referring to the departure of Hinagiku of course. The one person Kiro believed to be capable of stopping his escape had so happened to depart the village earlier today. Literally only a few minutes beforehand. She was the very reason why he threw escaping out the window during the hunt for the eight tails. Today’s events just proved that being patient had been the correct choice.

Fortunately for Hinagiku, the prisoners were taken out of Hyūga hands. They had no fault in his escape as it was the higher ups who had chosen to move them. Perhaps with the Hyūga Head gone, they couldn’t trust the Hyūga to keep them secure. Maybe they just didn’t have the necessary time to prepare how to handle the prisoners after Hinagiku left. Whatever the case, all of this should fall squarely on the shoulders of the one in charge.

————————

“Damnit!”

Tsunade was enraged as Orochimaru split into thousands of white snakes. They all exploded outwards and began slithering away. Orochimaru appeared to believe he could escape like this. Was he running because of the assistance that was on the way? That couldn’t be it as Orochimaru wasn’t one to slither away so quickly. Suddenly, her eyes widened as she seemed to have come to a realization.

“Shit! The prisoners! Don’t tell me he got them!”

Seeing as reinforcements hadn’t arrived yet, Tsunade had to resist the urge to head over to the location the prisoners were moved to herself. First, they had to try and stop Orochimaru from getting away. Forming some hand seals, Tsunade attempted to trap the larger groups of snakes in wooden boxes before they could spread to far apart. Unfortunately, she couldn’t catch all of them. Smaller versions of Katsuyu also shot out acid at whatever snakes they could find as well as down some holes the snakes had dug into, hoping to just melt them away.

Taiyo
Although Taiyo admittedly found himself surprised at his apparent abilities in perception, he figured that he had better things to do than give himself the pat on the back. Rather, he decided to continue following Sakura in her pursuit of her friends.

Let's hope they're still alive...I don't know how Sakura would manage if they weren't.
Tsuki
Although she wouldn't admit it, Tsuki was rather hurt by Hama brushing off her brief mention of her childhood. While it would've been immature of her to derail the current conversation to discuss something else, the Yuki-nin felt somewhat alienated by her mentor's apparent indifference. Regardless, the icy kunoichi decided to listen to her elder's lecture about the ice needle technique.

So...the ice needle is able to make more densely packed constructs than usual. Interesting...

"What else can this technique do, Hama-sensei?"
Seiun
To his surprise, the rogue shinobi found himself being more relaxed thanks to B.O.S.E.C's efforts. Now that his mind wasn't burden with the concern, Seiun was free to ruminate on what to do now that he was a free man again.

"Firstly, I think the two of us should find somewhere relatively obscure to settle into for a while so those mist dwelling idiots get off my back," Seiun stated with a audible amount of disgust as he stated the last part. However, a sinister grin soon made its home on the former Ame-nin's face.

"Once the heat's off me, I think a little homecoming is in order..."

Jiraiya had been quick in his answer, as he paid no mind to Orochimaru's little bit of dialogue as his eyes widened when he realized the snake's efforts to escape as he quickly fired a volley of sharpened chakra hair as he aimed to get as many snakes as he physically could and stab them with ruthless if not a frantic assault.

The other clan heads and ninja who arrived to the scene realized quickly what the snakes meant as they tried their hand to smash, bash, and kill any in their sights. A medical unit was called to tend to not just the Hokage and Sage but any other ninja as they worked to move and do what they could quickly as can be.

This scene had been a chaotic mess, and it seemed to have been nothing more than a distraction if Tsunade's worst suspicions had been to be believed...

-----
"Well, that is a shame..."
Needlessly to say the emotional roller coaster behind the cracked mask had been a bit jarring to his liking; as he moved from a feeling of utter euphoria & bliss with his torture seal on the rat and her cargo to what could only best be described as a feeling of the proverbial cock tease.

In a flash, the large summon and tag along had vanished out of thin air. The realization of perhaps having gotten a little too carried away hit as he was certain Lord Danzo would be most displeased. He'd likely be punished for his failure to bring in the Oto-brat, as Danzo had not been one to take failure lightly.

Though oddly, the promise of possible punishment made the figure chuckle, a twisted mind did appreciate all forms of painful pleasure after all as he moved over to the spot where the beast once stood as he shook his head; his lone eye showed the faintest traces of bemusement.

"Well, this went poorly, but there may be indeed one silver lining out of it~" The ANBU muttered to himself, as he pulled from his pocket a lone sample of hair from that curious summon. Once that has been secured, he vanished as the Genjutsu cover lifted now that there had been nothing to hide. For now, he had to return to answer his personal roll call.

-----
"Alright let's move!" Sakura called out as they raced down the wall and worked to approach the currently pinned group as Takato tried to think of what to do with their Chunin escort having been focused on defending their position. A position long compromised as debris and acid spit and whatever else broke down foliage by them which pinned them around their surroundings. Suddenly though the frightened Mittens meowed as the trio turned seeing Sakura and Taiyo.

"S-sakura!?" Ino called out in surprise.

"No time we gotta go now." Sakura said as she fired a couple of sharpened petals to cut up a tree that had Akihiko stuck as the latter had a love-struck gaze that Sakura's gaze quickly shut down.

Try a kiss and I will make sure those lips are sealed shut!

Takato in turn tried to help move a rock that had his ankle pinned as Sakura asked Taiyo to help with that.

-----
Woosh!
A single motion of wire wrapped up the body, and a concealment of Earth allowed the explosion to go off relatively safely as Yugao disposed of the corpse bomb. Such vile tactics she expected no less from the Sound at this point though it would take more than this effort to stop her pursuit. Yugao worked fast as she could a need to try to keep pace with Kabuto and these bothersome tricks only succeeded in a stall. But a loud boom seemed to signal the stall led to something more destructive, and of more greater concern. A pair of support ANBU came with her as they advanced fast as possible.

Might be just who I desired to find, but why do I feel something more...ominous behind all this?

Regardless Yugao and her squad moved past it as they moved to the source of what sounded off as a impressive explosion. Whatever had caused that mattered not, they needed to get there and get there quickly.

-----
Tayuya meanwhile, managed to free her leg from the Doki as she used her light song to move behind a tree; her Doki mounted a guard as her broken body had little strength left. Her emotions had surged seeing her left behind by her presumed escort and she had no idea what to think or where to go.

Regardless, behind enemy lines and with the battle of the Oto and ANBU she needed to save herself. And she quickly made a Genjutsu tune to try and coat herself and her Doki so they'd vanish from view; the blood from where she landed would be enough to suggest she likely died in this exchange. Or so she hoped.

Hama smirked at her student’s eagerness go learn. The white haired jounin chuckled, putting a finger to her lips.

“Ah, but all in due time Tsuki. You can’t learn how to run without first learning to crawl~”

Hoisting the woven shield up, she let go of it, allowing it to float in the air. She put a finger up, closing her eyes.

“Take notes Tsuki, I know you are good at that.” She started. “This ice fabrication technique allows you to weave in an entire network of chakra veins through whatever form you make. These veins allow the structure to act more like a creature than a weapon. As such they can harden, flinch, move organically, and even change shape. Observe.”

She snapped her fingers, the shield transforming before their eyes into that of a lance. As the lance fell, Hama grabbed it, what appeared to be dark blue veins raced across it.

“The network adapts to the new structure, and this requires no chakra to change the shape of an already woven structure! Oho~ marvelous no?”

*SPLAT!* *SPLORT!*

Snakes were chopped, crushed, stabbed, but no Orochimaru was found ferried inside any of them thus far. Many of them already out of sight and underground, it seemed hopeless to find him. Shopkeepers took out brooms and swatted the pests as the ninja around them tried to figure out what to do not only for this situation, but for the damage around them the brawl had caused.

.......

*Fwooooosh!*

In a flash, Palentra had transported back to her humble abode, Kou, his brother, an Zaku in tow. Zaku tumbled off of her hand and Kou let out a sigh of relief, the pain leaving his body. Palentra let out a long breath, like she had been biting in pain for hours.

“We...we made it home!” Kou let out, happy to be free. “And nobody had to die either! Thanks mama!”

Kou Hugged his adopted mother’s head, the giant rat staying silent. Several seconds passed before the summon spoke.

“...You remember what I said about snakes, don’t you child?”

“Huh? What do you mean?”

Palentra opened her hand, lifting it to her head’s level. Kou walked onto the open palm, his brother following in suit. Lifting them down so she can talk to them a little under eye level, she continued.

“Snakes...they dislike our kind. As you know by now. If they ever found out more of us existed...they wouldn’t stop trying to destroy our family. We are lucky, little one, that only one snakes remained by the time I was called, and that he was preoccupied. But that snake...”

Her eyes narrowed, looking forward at nothing in particular. She showed an anger, a raw anger that Kou never saw in her before.

“No...that MONSTER ate my brothers and sisters. Entire broods were lost...and he reveled In it. Manda. The Monster of Ryuuchi cave. You must never be around him young one...promise me you will run at the first sign of a snake like him.”

Kou looked down, holding his arm like a child that was being chastised for sticking his hand in a cookie jar.

“...I promise mama.”

She nodded her head. “Good. Now for something less dreary...my little warrior mouse.”

Kou’s Brother perked up, scuttering closer to Palentra and in front of Kou.

“You have kept my son and your brother safe and out of harm’s way. Because of you, I was able to get both of you back in one piece. And for that, your Pilgrimage is complete.”

The rat perked up jumping up and down. He grabbed Kou’s pant leg, pointing at his mother very excited. Kou stifled a chuckle, a confused chuckle. Looking up at Palentra, Kou offered a question.

“Um...not to be rude, but what pilgrimage?”

“You asked once what to call him. And I responded that he had no name. This pilgrimage is something every ratkin must partake in. We must accomplish something great, something what will define us for the rest of our lives. And now your brother has completed it.”

His brother got into position, standing on two legs and giving a stiff bow. It was like he was preparing for this for a long time coming. Palentra lifted one of her tails, the tip of it tracing the back of his head to the front.

“My little warrior mouse...your feat has bestowed you a fitting name. ‘Wyatt’. Wear this name with honor, for you have earned the privilege.”

Wyatt lifted his head, his eyes aglow with a newfound confidence. He drew his feather sword and gave a quick headnod of a bow, lifting his ‘sword’ to the sky. Kou clapped, laughing lightly as his brother was knighted. His younger brothers clapped in the distance, cheering in squeaks from their bed.
