Naming your Characters

Time to share mine, but these aren't all, just the ones I can remember.
Taiyo Akugami: I wanted to make a manga and Taiyo was going to be the name of the main character. The idea got canceled, but I kept the name for later use. Also Taiyo means Sun in Japanese and he just so happens to have fire powers.
Tsuki Yuki: A descendant from the Yuki Clan, henceforth the last name. Tsuki can translate to Moon, and she has ice powers. Essentially, I had a Sun and Moon thing going on.
most of my other OCs don't have a meaning to their names.

My characters names usually come from real life experience. For example:

My main character in most but not all of my RPs is me, Justin, but that’s because I have designed a trainer and many other roles for him. I also like the style of clothing.

My Black and White play through(IRL) is where I got most of my Pokémon teams names.

Buddy: a very expressive Samurott, he was my first partner, hence the name Buddy.

Boss: a very serious Scolipede, he was my most Powerful Pokémon in the B&W playthrough, hence the name Boss

Charles: Because Sandile, Krokorok, and Krookidile all look like a Charles

Nijima: the caring Sigilyph, heard it off of Persona 5, and it’s the best name in the world for him

Frosty: the most cliche name you can give to a Cryogonal

Samuel: because I see my Heatmor as a gentleman, and Samuel is a gentleman’s name in my opinion

Vixen: tell me Vixen isn’t the best name for a female Delphox, but this is from Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon

I typically just make up random new words for my character's names, eg: Plamon Chiffon Lalamina Kathrina. But if they're Pokemon trainers that specialise in a certain type, I turn a word related to that type (google translated or not) into a name, eg: Flyna, Ferno, Revin, Fairilina, Specta, Ghosan, etc.

Of course, my main OC's name simply comes from what I like to call myself a lot.

For Pokemon or Pokehumans/gjinkas, 99% of the time, I base their names of the pokemon they are or their abilities, eg: Bunbun Earer, Pika Chuia, Illusion, etc.
