Dakarai nodded sharply in response to Caleb’s plan to show she understood. It was a good strategy; take things as a group with people whose quirks are known.

If she was being honest, the metal cubby they were packed into felt like a sardine can with hardly any room to move or breathe. She swallowed her nervousness and waited for the klaxon to sound, signaling the beginning of the first phase.

As soon as the doors opened up and there was any space at all, Dakarai launched herself into the air and snapped out a pair of eagle’s wings. Her hero costume looked relatively the same as when she had started, aside from a collar that would inject powerful painkillers laced with caffeine in the event of her becoming seriously injured with her reckless fighting style, allowing her to heal herself without losing consciousness. A pair of intense bird-of-prey eyes emerged on her forehead, and she closed her own, flying above the class as she looked for objectives with the laser focus of a hawk.

Caleb grinned as he clomped out of the cubby, doing a brief scan for areas of interest. With no way of knowing where the objectives were right off the bat, he decided on a dilapidated skyscraper. If there wasn't any objective there, its height would make for a great vantage point. Dakarai could run surveillance from above with her wings, but his team would have to do things the old fashioned way.

"Okay, Katelyn and Kureiji, you're with me. We're going to start with that building there!" He indicated where he had in mind briefly before adding with a smile he couldn't suppress "Let's rock their socks off!" He began leaping off towards his target, seeing signs that the opposition had already reached it. Namely, the opposition themselves. He punched a guy with a leech mouth through a wall before the air turned a bluish tinge and everything seemed to be slow. No, it wasn't everything else, it was him too. "Some kind of quirk going on here!" His captain obvious statement came out in a deeper tone than normal as it left his lips at reduced speed.

@Cryronn the Mudkip

Caleb has stumbled upon the effects of a student from Shiketsu called Sloth, whose quirk is Slow Motion. It projects a zone around him that reduces the speed at which everything but him moves. With extra effort he can increase the effect, but the quirk is given away by tinting the air blue in its area of effect.
Just a jobber I came up with, feel free to make your own if you like.

Kureiji audibly groaned at Caleb insisting he go with the muscle man. If you couldn't tell, there was still some distaste there, but SOMEHOW, he'd manage. Kureiji, in his shirtless glory, fit with his impeccable pecs and-
(EDITORS NOTE- I will make sure to keep my fictional character away from the keyboard from this point onward, forgive me)
Kureiji was in his hero costume, which remained a pair of green pants and a belt, with large combat boots that stamped down the soil as he tromped along. He saw Caleb immediately deck some poor leech kid, which he felt kinda bad about, but then he realized that he really didn't care, and he was just the group's support main, so he supposed he better start supporting these fuckers! He ran alongside Caleb as the gas thickened, and coughed a bit, making sure to halt before he reached too deep into the cloud, remaining at least slightly fast unlike the stalled Caleb.

"Ah Sunnofabich, looks like I have to do everything around here!" He said confidently, as he unsheathed a blade of bone from his forearm in order to weaponize himself in case someone attacked him directly. From his opposite arm, several hawks burst from it, taking to the skies, and scanning for the possible user of the gas quirk. They eventually spotted one and relayed the information to Kureiji, who grinned like a madman as he suddenly summoned two large hounds, which dashed around the cloud and smacked the user of the quirk down to the ground, deactivating the slowing gas. He also summoned a small dove which loftily flew its way up to Dakarai, perching on her airborne head. She had sort of been his unofficial girlfriend? He wasn't sure what to really call it himself, but she seemed to enjoy his company enough. He hadn't gotten much of a chance to speak to her before the match, so he sent the dove as a sort of "message" from him, sort of saying good luck.

@Hogzilla @=Nightshade=

"Ohhh WHAT!?" Katelyn hastily booked it behind Kureiji and Caleb, tripping over her own feet as her Deku-inspired costume flowed loosely in the slight breeze and from the turbulence of her running. She blew a hasty kiss to Yuuki before they parted, and paused herself just before she entered the slowing haze, but seeing Kureiji take down the user still didn't mean the gas would go away! "H-Hey, guys! Everyone grab onto something that's on the ground! I'm gonna make a HUUUUGE gust to blow this away! Kureiji yelped and grabbed a rocky surface, ducking a bit, however she didn't have the time to worry about Ru or Caleb's safety, as she simply summoned a massive sideways pillar of wind from her body, violently directed at the gas cloud! "H-Hold on tight!" She saw some unprepared students from the other school get tossed into the air, being caught by accident in her vortex.

Yuuki stood waiting in her hero costume, she had updated it a lot, it was now a pair of tight fitting black trousers and a black crop top with a black leather jacket, she also had a mask on her face that covered everything except her usually covered eye which seeped shadowy energy as she stood waiting. She waved to Katelyn as she watched her head off. This would be I interesting but she was ready for anything she would save her monstrous form for later even though she could activate about three time each day now before losing control, she was happy with the progress she had made.

After noticing Hiro nearby, Drayda nodded at Caleb's plan and then to Hiro. "Let's go, tough guy. Let's go fast." With some sense of clarity and oneness she hadn't felt in a long time, Drayda and Lyria almost became one, with Lyria gifting Drayda almost absolute control of her powers. Wings sprouted from her back, her tail coiled out, and her suit became taut against her skin as it stretched to accommodate her new limbs. Her body became stronger, her skin became thick scales, and her eyes peered through the crowd with some clarity that she didn't have before. Upon everyone leaving the crowded house at once, Drayda took to the skies, making sure Hiro had a sight of her and followed her. Hopefully. She had memorized a good portion of the map and, after a quick look around, deduced that there was something secure in the subway. That's where she headed. Flying low and next to Hiro, she told him where she was going. "Subway, there is one down there. Let's go tunneling." She smirked and flew ahead, spiraling out of the way from a blast of wind that nearly took her off course.

Dakarai gave a small smile at the dove that Kureiji had sent her way, then latched onto the nearest pipe running up the side of a building as Katelyn’s vortex blew past. She watched as Drayda took off with Hiro and breathed an internal sigh of relief; she didn’t really want to have to deal with the dragon boy at this particular moment in time. Various sensory body parts taken from a wide variety of creatures continually blinked in and out of existence on the girl’s body, and she turned to her other classmates. Before she could say anything an eye that she had sprouted on her palm caught movement, and she promptly grew an octopus tentacle that slapped a student with lizardlike features off the side of the building. Oops, she thought. Eh, the guy’s got scales, he’s fine. “Miku, Ru, Sam, I guess that’s our cue!” She took flight again, looping around above the other students before heading off in the opposite direction of the other two groups, being careful not to fly too far ahead of her team.

Hiro tapped his boots on the floor as he waited for the doors to open, he cracked his knuckles as the door opened and people began to flood out. His first time with Drayda, this was going to be fun. He wondered if the first round was going to be as easy he thought he would. He followed after her, as best as he could. "Jesus you're fast!", he said, as he bounced into the air using his fire to gain height towards the buildings. The second his fingers made contact with the building, he sprang off it and used his fire to boost him across the street to the next building. It was almost like he was copying Bakugou's manoeuvring technique but using the buildings to make up for his lack in explosive power. Hiro stared at Drayda, the hell took her off course? As he continued to move forward another blast struck, this time it knocked him out of the sky. Hiro landed, face first, from the fifty foot plunge. He got lucky he had his scales there to soften the fall. "Drayda, we're not alone", he said as he ran towards her. He had suited himself in a full coat of scales as he looked around. "Get to the subway, quick, in and out. Do that fast, I'll stay above ground", he said.

On the roof tops, two figures stood together. One was the same person from earlier, the fire fighter. He grinned at Hiro below. He had one mission, get rid of the strong ones and make sure nobody disrupts scout team. Next to him was a shorter figure, they wore what looked like a vest and baggy trousers. The entire thing being different shades of grey. "Remember, Jaiden, we just subdue the dragons then go after the big muscular one", the fire fighter said. "Yes, I'm obviously gonna forget that. You've been saying it for the last fucking hour, I know the plan so well that it's practically tattooed on my forehead, Joseph", he shot back. So it seamed that the tall, dark skinned, dread locked, male in fire fighter clothing was Joseph. However the female with pale skin, purple long hair was Jaiden. The pair jumped off the roof, long purple tendrils extended from Jaiden's forearms as it embedded themselves in the concrete wall to slow her fall. Joseph took the fall fully, though as he landed explosions burst from his feet. The burst of heat launched him at Hiro, where Joseph grabbed the dragon by the head before throwing him into the entrance of the subway. Hiro bounced down the stairs as he went down. "Jaiden keep that dragon under control!", he said, as he ran down the subway after Hiro.

Caleb braced for the coming storm as Katelyn ramped up her power, unleashing gale force winds that not only dissipated the slowing gas, but knocked several unprepared examinees about. Caleb was holding onto a building so hard he left a handprint when he let go.

He flashed a thumbs up to Katelyn as he passed her. He was only able to force a smile ever so briefly before the rage forced its way back onto his face. Seeing movement in the third floor, he leaped up, crashing through like a cannonball in time to see several students from a rival academy struggling to shift a sealed barrel, marked orange as an objective. From the sounds it made, it must have been full of something heavy for several aspiring heroes to have trouble budging it.

"Katelyn, Kureiji, third floor!" His bark was loud enough to carry through the auditory pandemonium of the exam, but also gave him away. The opposing students moved about the otherwise empty room, trying to encircle the hulking young man. One, who he'd initially thought to have been wearing armor, actually had a crustacean like shell on his body and a claw gadget. Trusting the boy's shell to protect him, Caleb grabbed his opponent and threw him out the building through the wall. The next opponent got a punch in the face and Caleb shoved the unconscious body to the dirt and moved towards the barrel. While most of him relished the fray, he hoped his impromptu team would get there soon. Support would be handy, regardless of if it ended up being needed or not.

Drayda huffed a little in frustration, landing close to the ground as she peered up at two individuals looking down on them. She was about to charge at them when she heard Hiro call out to her. Go to the subway...? Oh, right! She shook her head to focus her goals, setting aside beating the tar out of those competitors for later. She took off with spring-like power from her legs, gliding to a set of stairs that led to the subway, which looked rather dilapidated and old, yet still had the modern touches she was used to. A broken up train was leaning into the wall, though it didn't look too heavy. Once inside, she was about to look for something when she saw Hiro falling through the entrance she came from. A man in a firefighting getup stood by the entrance, calling out to somebody else.

That's when purple tentacles shot forth from the entrance from a young woman, wrapping themselves around Drayda's arms and throwing her out of the subway just as quickly as Hiro was thrown in. Growling, Drayda righted herself in mid-air with her wings, allowing her to land like a cat. The woman, known as Jaiden from the guy earlier, ran at her, her tentacles shooting out of her forearms and whipping at Drayda. Taking in a deep breath, Drayda rushed towards the woman, but she seemed to be expecting that. When Drayda dodged a few whips from her tentacles, one of her forearms had her tentacles coil around each other to make one large tentacle, and she slammed it down on Drayda, who was watching in awe for a little longer than was necessary. Dust and debris went everywhere as Drayda was smashed into the concrete, but a sudden swipe of her tail slashed the woman's myriad of tentacles. She hardly felt anything. In fact, it hardly penetrated her skin.

"How cute." Another slam with the large tentacle, and Drayda felt her ribcage squeeze to an unnatural tightness, her shoulders felt like they were going to lock up from the pain. And her wings... Well, her wings didn't get all that damaged, thankfully. But it was hell to move anything connected to her back muscles regardless.

Growling, Lyria had an idea and took over completely. As another slam of the tentacles came down, she rolled over on her back, taking the blow to her belly. However, this allowed her to grab onto the tentacles, shoving her claws and teeth and tail tip into her purple appendages. Groaning in pain, the woman whipped the dragon off her weapon, only to realize she just whipped the dragon back into the subway, where Hiro and Joseph were probably battling it out. How stupid was she...? She rushed forward to stop the dragon, but the purple and black creature flew in and bashed her head as she tightly curled into a protective ball on whoever was nearest to the entrance.

(@Schrift you can make it be Joseph, Hiro, or something else. :3 )

Yuuki glanced around only to realise everyone was gone, she must have missed something, but she wasn't overly bothered and began to make her way to an objective. As she neared the location she heard a noise behind her and turned to locate, a group of about five or six students from a school she couldn't remember the name of were standing in a ruined building next to her, "hey there little doll, it's stupid to go alone you" the guy who was probably leading this smaller team said to her. Yuuki smiled "well actually, me being alone makes things a little easier for me, it means that I'm less likely to hurt a fellow classmate" she said as her shadows enveloped her and she became her monstrous self, she had made a few improvements, this form was now 12 feet tall with the usual claws and fangs but now she had black shadowy wings, that she quickly used to shoot herself towards the group crashing into the building with a loud crash. The impact had knocked the cocky out cold, but one of the others had put upa protective force field around the other four. Yuuki growled and pounded on the force field until it started to crack and crumble. Eventually it shattered, shocking the conjurer and causing her to collapse. With the barrier down the other three took action thick vines began to restrain Yuuki as Ice started to creep up her legs attempting to freeze her solid the final guy didnt seem to be attacking so she didnt know what he was capable of but before long her legs were completely frozen and her arms were restrained by vines. She struggled and growled snapping at her attackers the ice girl smirked as more ice crept up Yuuki's body. Once her body was completely encased the bones retracted and the three grabbed there downed team mates carrying them towards the objective, Yuuki quickly detached herself from her monstrous form and sat in sized the icey, shadowy husk before creating a last shadow fist and smashing through the husk the shadows that had become detached faded rapidly, Yuuki applied shadowsntonher legs and hands and dashed forward clobbering the the vine dude who was carrying the other two unconscious people knocking him out and to the floor. The ice girl and the final guy turned quickly. Yuuki retaliated by swiftly restraining the girl with shadowy tendrils before slamming her into the ground. She turned to the final guy "wow you took out all my teammates well done, but you can't beat someone like me" he said before aiming his palms at Yuuki and firing high power beams of light at her, she fell to the ground her shadows dissipating as she became weaker and weaker. Damnit she shouldn't have tried going alone, she was going to fail.

Hiro bounced down the stairs, his hardened scales protecting him from the fall. He sprang to his feet, lifting up his fists. Joseph calmly walked down the stairs, his iron tipped boots clicking on each step. "Thank god you didn't fall so quickly, I would've been disappointed then", he said as he was met with a right hook from Hiro. "Man, you really do hit as hard as they say", Joseph grinned back as he clasped Hiro's face with his left and and released a large condensed blast of fire. Hiro ate the flames, wiping the side of his face as he looked up at Joseph. "I eat fire, dumb ass", he growled as he sent a blast of fire at Joseph. He scoffed a bit as he waited for the smoke to die down before he could advance at Joseph. But through the smoke, Joseph ran at Hiro. His right hand seemed to be glowing like melting steel. Hiro could only harden as the punch sent him flying into one of the supporting pillars of the subway. "Is that it?", Joseph taunted as he waited for Hiro to get back up. Hiro eventually stumbled out of the pillar, "how did you do that?", he asked as he wiped the spit from his lip. "you think I'd just tell you?", he retorted. Joseph and Hiro charged at each other in a spectacle of fire and devastating blows. Though as much as Hiro tried to turn the favour of the battle to his side, Joseph would just hit back with a glowing punch of a blast of fire in the form of a small explosion. Eventually Hiro clasped both his arms around his opponent's lower torso as he lifted him up and slammed him down on his back. Joseph grinned at the attack, a pretty simple on from Hiro but an effective one. On the ground, Joseph clasped his hands on the ground as he created an explosion to get Hiro off him. Hiro rolled backwards, off Joseph as the explosion caused dust from the ceiling to fall. This place wasn't the best for Hiro, it was small and isolated, plus Hiro couldn't let out his power incase the subway would collapse.

As if things couldn't get worse for Hiro, Drayda came from the entrance and landed on Hiro. The pair fell to the floor, Drayda ontop of Hiro. "Jesus, Drayda watch it!", he said, as he got up to find her on his front. Now Hiro couldn't use all of his power, if he did he'd collapse the subway and hurt Drayda. Both of which were a no no. He looked up at Jaiden as she panted at the entrance. He stumbled up as he looked at Drayda then to Jaiden and finally to Joseph. "We're at a disadvantage here, that guy has some sort of power which allows him to make my attacks turn against me. He turns my punches into explosions and my fire into a powerful punch at-", Hiro was cut off by Joseph as the boy sent him across the subway and down onto the rails. "JAIDEN, WHAT IS SHE DOING HERE?!", Joseph yelled out, it was clear this had bothered him. Jaiden bowed in apology, getting into stance and sending out a tendril to deal with Hiro while sending another to deal with Drayda. Well that's what it seemed like, but the tendril for Drayda seemed to go and attack Joseph instead as it whipped his body and swung him around. By the time he was released at Hiro, Joseph's body was battered and bruised. He put a foot on Hiro's chest as he released all that built up energy on Hiro which came out in the form of a flame which spread through out the rails. But soon the fire was directed up as he was pressing his foot into Hiro's chest, using the fire to make it stronger. Jaiden stood between Drayda and Joseph. It was clear what Joseph's plan was, crush Hiro's chest and make it hard for him to breath and hopefully knock him out. If Hiro had put off his scales the foot would go straight into his chest and break his ribs, though if he put up with it for any longer he would be out of the fight. "Too bad that red head has to go out like this, he was sort of cute", Jaiden snickered as she let out her tendrils in a flurry of slashes towards Drayda.

@Merciless Medic

Drayda had found herself on top of Hiro, Lyria having taken over and giving Hiro a scoff and a smirk, as if thanking him for cushioning her fall. When Hiro was trying to tell Drayda what power this man had, he was knocked away and the same man yelled at the woman Drayda had fought with and managed to get away from. After an apologetic bow, she threw Joseph towards the knocked down Hiro and positioned herself between the two U.A. students. Lyria saw this has an issue and requested Drayda's intellectual assistance. The tentacles were in a defensive position, preventing Drayda from going past and trying to root the woman in place. Two tentacles even wrapped around one of the cement pillars, keeping her rooted in place and covering enough area to keep Drayda away from Joseph and Hiro.

That will not do.

Then Jaiden let out a flurry of tentacles to attack her, mocking how the red head's ending will sadly have to be like this. Drayda smirked. She shot forward, dodging the tentacles from above, but getting smacked to the side by one from the bottom. Damn... Drayda clicked her tongue at the roof of her mouth in frustration. She had to save him. She had to save Hiro and get the objective. Hiro. Objective. Save.

The primary chatter in Drayda's head went null as everything silenced. Just her awareness of what's happening, her state, Hiro's state, and the obstacle in the way. She was not going to let Hiro down. Scales protrude from Drayda's skin, covering the outside portions of her already scaly skin, giving more weight and defense to her small body, allowing her to rush forward from the side. When a tentacle came down from the other side, Drayda dropped to the ground and rolled sideways, avoiding the tentacle just slightly. Then she lunged forth, sinking her teeth into the woman's knee, trying to cripple her movements so she has to keep using her tentacles for support.

The woman yelled in pain and tried to slam the dragon off her leg, but the purple dragon would not let up as she sunk her claws into the young woman's leg. Then, her tail came up and stabbed her deliberately on her side, sending more of the paralytic venom throughout her veins. She had now been injected with more venom than Drayda ever thought was possible within her tail and she was starting to feel the venom sac within her tail dry up or shrivel. She had to stop.

The tail pulled out and the woman was groaning and her tentacles were weakening in battering strength. She was only able to have a few out at a time now, pulling all but the two wrapped around the cement pillars and the one from her arm that was currently trying to throw Drayda off.

Standing up on her hind legs, the black and purple dragon scratched at the tentacle, causing the woman to scream a little in anger and agony as the venom was making it difficult for her to move. She felt one side of her face getting so numb that it felt like it was sloughing off her skull, when it really wasn't. Though, that one side of her face fell slack as it lost all expression. Drayda then head bashed into the woman, causing the supporting tentacles to dislodge off the cement pillars as she stumbled a little, the tentacles grasping futilely at the ground. Drayda focused her power in her legs and tail, using her wings to flap towards the woman as she lunged with all the might she can muster and twirling about, slamming her tail into the woman and sending her towards Joseph, wherever he was.

Drayda then rushed for Hiro hoping to grab him and get him up so she can run off deeper into the subway with him and away from the opponents. Jaiden was so slack in her tentacles that she can't even send them back in her body, making her much heavier to lift and making her a much heavier object to be thrown at someone.

Caleb barged through the wall, carrying the orange barrel, with two opposing students grabbing onto him. One was heavy like a lodestone, no matter how much power Caleb drew, the young boy was difficult to move, as though his weight was subjective to be a burden on whoever he was attempting to hinder. The other was a girl who had one arm wrapped around Caleb's neck and the other pressed to his temple. Although not obvious to anyone else, Caleb felt her trying to siphon off his emotions, feeding on feelings like a psychic vampire. His rage was deep, perhaps bottomless, but in order for her to be here, she probably could do something with those emotions.

Either opponent wouldn't be much trouble on their own, but with the lodestone he couldn't maneuver around well enough to dislodge and strike at the vampire, and with the vampire on his back siphoning his anger (and by extension, his strength) he couldn't get enough power to pummel the lodestone. He struggled like a bear beset by hounds, casting the barrel over near his teammates and growling "Y'all want to help?"

@Cryronn the Mudkip

Katelyn was, unfortunately for Caleb, kinda busy on the first floor. She was being beset from all angles by attacks, many of which weren't even aimed at her. She crashed a foot into the stomach of an oncoming hero, seemingly in control of the ground, though it seemed rather weak. She wiped some dirt from her chest and turned to face... *SOMETHING*. She couldn't actually comprehend what stood before her, all she could see was a warped static-y black mass accompanied by six wrathful red eyes. Okay, this was certainly not good. Just looking at it was giving her migraines, as she stumbled back a few feet. She gripped at her head with one hand and raised another in defensive position, as if to try and stop the mental impact of looking at the horror. She grit her teeth hard, and outstretched a hand, clouds forming around it as a harsh bolt of lightning surged and crashed into the enemy that was causing her the pain, causing it to temporarily recoil... She called for help, but the power of this student meant that no matter what she said, none of it would actually travel further than a few inches from her lips.

---

Kureiji, to Caleb's probable shock, burst straight through one of the many windowed walls of the building, his entire back protruding vines and roots that extended out into the surrounding scenery. In a way, he was a massive spider, his body pulsing with the nature energy coursing inside. Enthralled in his vines seemed to be three unlucky people, as Kueriji's feet landed upon the stone floor, vines and roots working independently behind him to create a dead zone that nobody could access. He called this technique- "The End of Life Snare." He grabbed the barrel and concealed it within a prison of thorny roots, and drew himself forward, pulling his sword from his belt. He crashed it into the heavier of the two besetting Caleb, attempting to dig straight into the point where the lodestone had the strongest grip on Caleb as to force him to release. He felt the grinding, sickening feeing of slicing flesh, before he felt some give, and wrenched his hand upward. This forced the release of the lodestone gripping Caleb, and roared out- "OKAY CALEB, DEAL WITH THE OTHER ONE!" as he gated the area between the four with vines, splitting it into two groups of two, Kureiji vs Lodestone, Caleb vs Vampire.

The heavyset opponent lunged at him, seemingly unaffected by his own enormous weight. Kureiji managed to sidestep the first attack, though his movement was hindered by the mass of vines and roots extending from his back and into the surrounding cityscape. He grunted, as the second attack grabbed him and slammed him headfirst into the floor, causing an incredible shock to rocket through Kureiji's body. He began to hear his own heartbeat, knowing his head was most definitely bleeding. He grunted and managed to stand, just in time too, as he was able to push back another attack which would have probably sent him through the floor. He screamed out as he dug roots against his seemingly immovable adversary. "DAMN IT CALEB, JUST MY LUCK, TRYING TO BE A HERO AND SAVE YOUR ASS! BECAUSE LOOK AT ME, 'I'M NO BETTER!' COULD HAVE JUST LET YOU BITE IT! NOW MY FUCKING HEAD IS BLEEDING AND I'M GONNA BE KNOCKED OUT IN THE FIRST TEN MINUTES!"

However, amongst his purely adrenaline rushed screaming, he felt give, and exploited it, as he felt the opponent sinking deeper into a breaking position as he simply applied more and more pressure, until he was tantalizingly close to getting the lodestone of a boy off the side of the building, through the hole he'd made.

Dakarai was still in the air when it hit her. A hammer blow, invisible and soundless despite the different kinds of eyes and ears searching for threats and objectives, striking her right between the shoulder blades. Her wings buckled, and severely disoriented by the sudden drop while watching in 360 degrees, the girl was unable to right herself before she crashed through the window of a building. “Tch,” she growled, wincing in pain from the lacerations on her body made from shattered glass. “I’m alright,” she called down to her team. “But be on your guard, the dude’s either invisible or using his Quirk remotely!” The animal extremities she had possessed prior to her unceremonious crash had disappeared with the shock of impact, and she took all of five seconds to speed-heal her injuries and sprout another pair of wings from her back.

The second Dakarai emerged from the building, however, another invisible blow hit her from the side, launching her into a wall opposite the building she had just exited. The force of the blow ricocheted her off the wall at an angle, sending her up to skid across the flat roof of the building. Her momentum came to a stop a few seconds before she would have hit the railing that seemed way to low to be for protection. The girl grit her teeth. This is bad… if I spend all my energy healing injuries from an enemy I can’t see, I’ll have less energy to locate them. Plus, I can’t expend everything on this one fight… there are other opponents down by the others, if I can manage to take this guy down… Dakarai struggled to her feet. One of her teeth had come dislodged sometime when she was being batted around like a ping pong ball, and she spat out blood. She healed her more serious injuries, purposely leaving the bumps and bruises alone in an attempt to conserve energy. It wasn’t much on its own, but in a few minutes, once the fight was over, it might end up being all she had.

Movement! Out of the corner of her eye. Dakarai whipped her head around to face it, barely managing to catch a silhouette of a person make a violent hand motion before disappearing behind another building. The girl threw herself to the side, just before an invisible force punched a hole through the building roof where she had been crouched a split second before. That’s it. Hiding in the shadows and using it from long range. So if I can just find him again…

Caleb grunted in thanks to Kureiji for the assist, and set to work. Being in a mostly intact room, he launched himself backwards, slamming the vampire in between himself and the wall, which loosened her grip just enough to get his hand under her arm "I'm not your juice box, girl!" He hurled her forward over his shoulder, thinking to slam her on the floor, but she was amazingly acrobatic, coming down in a three point landing, giving Caleb a look at her at last.

Her all black body glove and dark, smooth hair contrasted with her pale skin and light grey eyes. She was undeniably attractive. Not enough to disarm him, but he couldn't fail to see it. Then she opened a mouth full of several rows of piranha like teeth. Had he not been in a rage, he'd have been creeped out. As it stood, he hurled himself at her, and she returned the favor. She was quick and graceful, reminding him of Sam, if Sam was a creepy goth. She kept going for his neck, and twisting out of the way of his strikes.

As he was trying to corner her, he saw the orange barrel he'd been trying to secure was being dragged away. She'd only been trying to distract him! Caleb hurled himself after the student moving the barrel, who saw him coming and looked scared. The young man didn't even use his quirk, whatever it was, and fled. Caleb lay hands on the barrel again, only to feel the creepy girl scrabble across his back again. "Not this time!" He bellowed and twisted about, leaving her in a side control rather than rear mount position. That was enough for him. Her grappling technique was excellent, but through raw strength he forced his arm around her torso and pulled her around to punch and break her sternum. Angry as he was, he was still able to hiss "I'm sorry" to her for the painful injury. Then Caleb slung the barrel under arm and moved off to secure it.

Kureiji managed to pull himself into a more stable standing position, having several of his vines pressed against his head injury to prevent more blood from draining from his form. He could see the bruising dotting his arms already, as he moved forward. His roots were now completely focused on taking out this person, and jettisoning him straight off the edge of this building. Soon, he felt the tension finally give way.

He knew the guy had been pushed off, but in his gut he knew it was a temporary victory. And to his credit, he was correct, as retracting his roots from his line of sight revealed a hand gripping onto the edge, his weight making it look like his fingers had sunken into the concrete like butter. He slowly walked himself over, and looked over the edge with harsh green eyes, his once again longer hair flowing in the slight draft. “...hey. You should fall already. I’m just about done with this fight...” he said with a dry anger in his voice, as the lodestone’s hazel eyes stared back. “N-Not until... I get that damn barrel...” he responded, seemingly trying to stifle snapping into a yelling fit. “...you’ll have another chance later. Just take the defeat now. Kid.” Kureiji, without leaving room for a response, lifted his weighty boot and slammed it down into the boy’s hand, just strong enough to make him release his grip a little and plummet straight down the side of the building.

“...well... that settles that...” he began to slowly limp his way through his root barrier, forming a puffy clot of cotton that he pressed into his head, forming a mix of herbs in his hand which he ground into a fine dust that he sprinkled into the wound, finally setting the cotton in place over the injury and keeping it there by wrapping thatched leaves around his head. Soon, he joined Caleb next to the barrel, and gave a weak thumbs up. “...didn’t lose too much blood so... we should be good to secure this point... erghh... hey, if i vomit... sorry...” He huffed out slowly. Sorry was a rarity for Kureiji these days... especially after that outburst, but now wasn’t the time.”

Yuuki slowly began to panic as the boy's light based quirk weakened her bit by bit. In a last ditch effort she formed as big of a shadow fist as possible and slammed it into the ground unbalancing the boy giving her the chance to sweep his legs out from under him and then punching him in the face rendering him unconscious, she then looked at the 5 person team that she had managed to beat and sighed in relief, "god I'm lucky not many of them had quirks that worked well against me, but I should probably find some of my class mates" she said before scooping up the objective they had been protecting.

Yuuki wondered around still in a some what weakened state until she caught a glimpse of movement nearby and recognized the girl in question, Dakarai. Relieved to have finally found someone she limped forward and reached Dakarai just as something was fired towards her, she couldn't see it but she felt it in the air and quickly threw up the best shield she could manage that only managed to cushion the force but not fully stopping it causing Yuuki to be knocked down, she glanced up slightly "hey Dakarai I'm so happy to see someone I know, I need a sec to recover, I think the culprit for these attacks is in there, i thought I saw movement on the way over" she said pointing to a window of a nearby building before trying to drag herself into a dark shadowy corner to recharge.

From Drayda's help, Hiro felt that massive weight on his chest lift up. It was a glorious feeling of both relief and slight embarrassment. Hiro wasn't used to being saved like this, hell he was supposed to be the one saving others right? Well he couldn't save anybody if he kept getting into situations like this all the time. "Jesus Drayda, you should've just left me to deal with the pair of them and look for that objective on your own", he said, his tone almost scornful but soon it warmed up. Drayda had managed to save him and help him make sure he could keep going during this match. He smiled a bit, as he patted her head. "But thanks for it, now c'mon let's search for that dumb objective. I don't think fire fighter back there is gonna stay down for long", he said, grinning a bit. "Back there at the entrance, that guy's ability. He can turn my physical attacks into a burst of fire, and he turns my fire into pure strength for himself. I think that he's not completely immune to fire or physical attacks though, maybe he has slight resistance but he's definitely feeling those attacks sink in", he said.

Joseph stumbled back, falling rearwards. Dammit Jaiden, you just really had to mess up now of all times, he thought as he gritted his teeth at his fallen friend. Joseph lay on the floor, not defeated but disappointed at how his friend had fallen so easily. Maybe this wasn't their moment, maybe they'd lost this battle. "Jaiden, get off me. Weak people, people like you aren't meant to be heroes. Weak, pathetic and you lose too easily", he said as he pushed Jaiden aside. It was clear Joseph had little care for his fallen comrade, his only sights was to get the mission complete. Their mission? Get rid of 1A's power houses so their teammates could get to the objectives. Joseph lifted up Jaiden her tendrils, using what little strength of his fire he had left, he began to spin in fiery circles before eventually throwing the poor girl at Hiro and Drayda. Then an idea came into his head. Hiro's biggest weakness wasn't any physical attack, it was his own anger. Maybe provoking Hiro could work. Maybe in his favour. Make Hiro angry, fight Hiro and use Hiro's angered state to beat him. That could work.

Hiro watched as Jaiden was thrown at them. He caught her in his arms as he looked down at her. Man, he felt sympathetic for her. She was stuck with that fiery jerk back there. Even when she was battered and bruised, he used her as a weapon. A last feeble attempt to hit them. From the entrance to the subway Hiro could hear Joseph. He could hear his taunts at him. How Hiro was weak, how he was running away from fight. How Hiro was pathetic, how his weakness will only lead to people getting hurt. It was clear that Joseph's words were beginning to sink into Hiro. Hiro gritted his teeth, he wanted to go back and fight Joseph. He wanted to make those taunts stop. Fire flickered from the corner of his mouth as his body coated itself in scales. It was clear Hiro wanted to go fight Joseph, it was clear Joseph was starting to hit some nerves on Hiro. Maybe Hiro's anger management didn't improve. Maybe he was still that angry kid back at the start of the year. He wanted to lash out. Though to Hiro he only saw this as taunts, it was clear this was just to get Hiro angry. To get Hiro to go away from Drayda. If Hiro left Drayda on her own, Hiro probably wouldn't stand much of a chance against that Joseph guy. Especially with his quirk.

@Merciless Medic sorry I was offline for so long! I was just busy with stuff irl)

Upon Shiro brushing off her help, she snorted and shook her head roughly, glaring at him before receiving the pat on the head. She cooed a little, her behavior unlike a dog or a cat when given head scratches. Once Lyria had her fun, Drayda got her bipedal human form back, but still kept the scales and extra limbs. "It's probably got something to do with kinetic transformation or something along those lines. Whichever the case, we don't have much time. I think I have a little bit left to put him under commission for a while with my tail if he gets close, anyway.

With Jaiden being unable to move as her limbs were too heavy and her mind fell in a paralyzed haze thanks to Drayda's venom, Drayda already knew that Joseph would come back eventually by himself. However, she did not expect for him to throw Jaiden at them, but was thankful Hiro caught her before she herself ended up on the floor. Looking back at Joseph, Drayda shook her head and grabbed a hold of Hiro's arm, raising a wing and blocking Hiro's view of Joseph and coincidentally blocking a bit of the sound. "We can't stay here and he's not worth our time. Please, come with me. I have enough strength to keep him at bay and I'm more suited for these environments. You're not. Ignore him for now and you may have your comeuppance later by making sure he doesn't get the license." Drayda was hoping her reasonings were substantial enough to have done something. She coiled her tail, ready to strike at the boy who she hoped rushed at them once Hiro's view was blocked.

Hiro stared down at Drayda, his breathing was harsh as the fire on the side of his lips were beginning to get larger. He clenched his fist as he did everything in his power to calm down, as his anger slowly faded Hiro turned to Drayda. Hiro felt relieved having Drayda there for him. Between the shock collar and her, she was certainly a nice change. "You can probably deal with his speed and most likely stop him from using his quirk to make those heavy punches, but you're gonna end up with him spewing fire everywhere.... I have a plan", he said as he looked at Drayda. "if he comes at us, you can fight him. But everytime he uses his quirk to throw fire at you or try to burn you, I'll just eat his fire. Think of it as a spear and shield, if you're the spear and I'm the shield", he smiled, as he noticed an orange hue behind her wing. Was it a train? No, wait, Hiro pushed past Drayda's wing as he scaled up and consumed the fire balls flying at them. His fire tastes bitter, it's like eating lemons and raw egg together, he thought to himself. Hiro was expecting to see Joseph charging at them, but he didn't notice anybody. That pissed him off, he was looking forward to a fight but I guess not this time.

"Well then, you waiting to hold my hand or something or should we get going", he chuckled. Hiro looked back at the subway entrance, Joseph used those fireballs for cover as he made an escape for it. He didn't want to face Hiro and Drayda alone, and he knew that his teammate had put herself in that situation. Trying to get Jaiden out would have only resulted in unneeded fatigue and to some extent Hiro understood it. Though if it was him in that situation, would he have done the same? It seemed Hiro was stuck in thought for a bit before he snapped out of it. It wasn't smart to waste time by thinking like this. "We have to be ready for anything now, that ass clown just made me feel like we're walking with targets on our back so we should probably find that objective", he said, as he began to walk deeper into the tunnel. "You know what we're looking for right? And what it looks like?", he asked.

@Merciless Medic

Drayda watched as the anger subsided - or more accurately pushed aside - before he focused on her. When he started talking sense, she smiled. The game plan was a nice change of pace. Maybe she can use the last bit of venom in her tail and keep themselves in the game. However, the tip of her tail felt like cramping with how little she had left.

It was then that she felt her wing grow hotter as there was a glow in the corner of her eye. Pulling her wing back as Hiro shot forward, she watched as Hiro scaled up and consumed the fireballs. Drayda stood behind him with her wings up, but noticed that there was no one charging at them. Weird. She took a moment to stare at the spot where Joseph was before looking around at the rest of the subway, wondering if he was hiding anywhere. That was when she heard Hiro make a comment and she giggled at it. Though a part of her thought it was weird he'd say that.

"Don't tempt me." She shot back, teasing tone in her voice. She was about to leave when she realized that Hiro was in a bit of a daze or contemplating something. "Hey, you waiting for approval to hold my hand or are we going?" She shot his own quip back at him, a teasing grin on her face. He finally got his act together and he started walking towards the deeper portions of the subway, where he asked if she knew what they were looking for as she walked beside him.

Drayda nervously chuckled and scratched the back of her neck as it prickled with uncertainty. "Oh, that? Hehe, no. I forgot what they are supposed to look like. But they did say it's going to be obvious, so we just gotta find something with probably a bright color that's sore on the eyes or something really obviously out of place." She tried reasoning, but she felt more and more like an idiot for forgetting, to which she mentally blamed Lyria for. Luckily, Lyria took it with little resistance, but the control she had over her dragon slipped a little, as her scales became less prominent.

Dakarai turned abruptly at the voice of one of her classmates. “Yuuki…!” she said as she located the shadow girl. She caught a glimpse of movement from the direction Yuuki had gestured to, and managed to dodge another invisible projectile from her opponent. “Oh, no you don’t,” she muttered, hurling herself off the roof and sprouting wings, propelling herself after him. The boy she was chasing looked over his shoulder back at her, forming a hand into a finger gun before jerking his arm. Dakarai’s eyes widened as she tucked her wings in, dropping like a stone. The gust went over her head, so close she felt the breeze off it.

“You’re not getting away!” she yelled as the boy ducked into a side alley. It was too narrow for her wingspan, and it took a moment to switch from wings to tentacles, but he hadn’t gotten out of her sight yet. She crawled, spider-like, using her six tentacles to propel her off the walls towards the boy, who fired three more finger-gun-blasts her way before a tentacle finally secured him. “Nice try, bucko,” Dakarai said with a grin. “Sorry you had to be beaten by a girl.”

Before he could try to hit her with another blast, she slammed him against a wall, a quick knockout, but one likely to cause pain later. “Feel free to tell your friends it was a dude that did you in. But make me taller. And muscly.” Not that he could hear her. She laid his unconscious form gently on top of a “dumpster” that was actually full of packing peanuts. Guess as realistic as the proctors wanted the exam to be, they still didn’t need the stink.

Dakarai lifter herself up over the lip of the building, panting as she retracted the tentacles into her back. Great job wearing yourself out in the first half-hour, she thought to herself. She walked across the roof where she looked down over the edge, noticing Yuuki in the shadows not too far away. The girl hopped lightly down, absorbing the impact with two tentacles. “You good?” she asked Yuuki.

After sitting in the shade for a considerable time Yuuki was able to stand quite easily and smiled at Dakarai "I'm much better now, I thought it would be smart to go off alone and I was doing alright to begin with but some dude with a light quirk nearly bested me, I did get an objective though the people I beat were protecting it" she said holding the object out with a grin despite the fact she was filthy and battered "what do we do now?" she enquired with a curious expression while she made sure no one was coming right that moment.

Caleb slammed the barrel down. "One down" he thought, turning and surveying the action. His attempt at reconnaissance was spoiled by the fire in his blood, which demanded that he act. He began running and leaping through the ruins, mostly ignoring opposing students who didn't attack him - He wasn't mad enough yet to go haring after every potential opponent - he only paused to briefly spar with one student who could spit acid, earning some burns in the process.

He heard two familiar voices and almost fell over as he stopped himself from another jump just before his feet left the ground. Dakarai and Yuuki. Mostly Yuuki, her full body shadow manifestation could be loud when it spoke. Did they have an objective in sight? "Go." He blasted through the mound of rubble stop the rise separating him from his classmates before greeting them. "Y'all got an objective in sight?"

Hiro blushed a bit at his cheeks when she teased about holding her hand.He managed to cover up his blushing with scales to avoid looking well a bit odd considering they were fighting for hero licenses. "I'd hold your hand but then again, I don't think you want to feel scales and fire. Anyways, we can save that for later", he smirked, his tone a mix of flirting and teasing. He began to walk deeper into the tunnels as he put his fist upwards, igniting it as it made a light for the undergrounds. Walking in deeper would certainly get them closer to the objective but it would leave Hiro weaker for any fights in there. Relying too much of Drayda wasn't right either, tiring her out by being a burden in a fight wasn't the right thing to do in this situation. As Hiro began to walk he got bored of well not seeing if there was anything that looked remotely like it'd be an objective. "Hey Drayda, are you afraid of the people here? I don't mean power wise, I mean more so how they act. Like we've just seen a nutmeg sacrifice his teammate in a stupid last attempt and that puts me off, I wanna crush his skull between my boots. Then again, I used to be like that and that puts me off a bit", he chuckled, as he soon noticed something in the dark.

Hiro ran up to the what looked like a rock wearing a high vis jacket. As he approached it, it wasn't a rock. Nope, it turned out to be a person dressed in a high vis jacket. Was this one of the objectives? Hiro felt slightly confused, he looked down at the person. The person was a male in what looked to be their mid 40s. They were small and plump, sort of like a pigeon. Drayda did say the objective could be an eyesore,he thought as he looked down at the person. "Hey, are you alright?", he asked, as he looked down at the person. This guy must've definitely been an objective, how else could he not be? He was wearing an obvious wig, he had a fake cast on his leg and he looked scared out of his mind, not to mention he was dressed as a civilian. To add icing to the cake he also had some fake wounds on him, so there was little doubt that he was the objective. "Drayda, I think this is our guy", he said, looking at him. The man squeaked a bit as Hiro picked him up. "Where do you think we should take hi-", Hiro was cut off by the pigeon man. "What do you mean where should you take him?! You're heroes! You're supposed to make me feel safe, not scared because you don't know what to do!", he said, practically shouting in Hiro's ear. Hiro was trying hard to not lash back at the man, oh how he'd have loved to just slam him down and turn him to ash.

(@Hogzilla Yuuki is currently not in her full shadow form, it was deactivated by the light user and she hasn't reactivated it yet)
Upon spotting Caleb Yuuki waved and smiled "Hey Caleb, I've got one here with me, I forgot where I'm supposed to take it" she said sheepishly trying to rub some of the dirt from her face "by the way you two went off with people right what happened how did you end up by yourselves" she asked concerned about Katelyn as she stood there holding the objective close to her. She was in a defensive state during this conversation making sure to be ready to activate her full manifestation if it was needed she still had a few more uses left today.

Caleb thumbed over his shoulder in the general direction of their starting point. "Take it back where we started." He fought to keep his emotions in balance. His quirk was granting him strength, stamina, reflexes but it was not easy to maintain control of his anger. "Among the fruit of the spirit is self-control." He reminded himself. He'd been getting better at keeping his cool, steering away from the outbursts of rage that characterized his earlier days.

Snapping back to focus, he motioned for Yuuki to go on. "I'll watch your back."

Yuuki glanced over to where he was pointing and nodded "ok" she said simply before setting off. She kept to the shadowy areas enveloping herself in a thin layer of shadow to aid in her stealthy endeavour. She duck and dived through the train and eventually made it back to the starting point and deposited the objective before turning back and making her way swiftly back to Dakarai and Caleb. She looked to the pair "now what?" she enquired as the thin layer of shadow dissipated.

Caleb sighs and looks about, before replying. "Well, I got one, and you got one. We just need one more. Hopefully the others are having success like us. If all goes well, we'll be cleared to move on to the next round." He sets his feet and channels his quirk, feeling the anger try to bubble up, and cages it. He turns with a slight grimace, remarking "Let's go see if we're needed." before cannoning away through the air.

OOC: @Schrift If Hiro wants to wrap up his thread we can move on. I added the whole "let's go see if we're needed" to fill space and because it wouldn't make sense for these students to just sit on their hands.

Later, after the internships...

Caleb stared at the villain at his feet. The man had fought hard, and Caleb had cuts that would no doubt cripple someone without his ability to ignore pain and injury. It still took effort to channel enough fury to suppress such damage without losing control, and he felt some drool trickling out of his clenched teeth. But he'd been getting better. Much better. He'd increased his maximum power, and his control over that power had improved as well.

He'd been challenged. He'd been forced to use special weights, designed to adapt to his power use to challenge his body, similar to a weighted vest for more conventional athletes. He'd had to face villains far above the grade he'd met on the island. He'd been injured numerous times, including being run through with rebar, which left an ugly scar on his left side that reliable sources told him would never go away short of a skin graft or a very powerful healing quirk. He'd live with it.

His mentor these past months, the pro hero Helix clapped him on the shoulder. "You did well today, kid. You've improved a lot. Although you still need to learn to unwind." The last bit was accompanied by a playful punch to Caleb's shoulder. The hero paused , then continued in a more serious tone. "I have to send you back tomorrow. You looking forward to seeing your friends again?" Caleb nodded and grinned. "Absolutely."

It was fairly cold out when he got back to the dorm. Nothing like back home, but far from pleasant. His spirits were high. He got to see Sam again. That got him excited, but he was excited to see everyone, even Hiro, his... Rival? Frenemy? ... Whatever Hiro was, Caleb was looking forward to seeing him too. He'd been informed via email there would be an active exercise to test the students' progress. After dressing in his hero garb (which mostly consisted of a metal plates over vital areas and heavy chains wound around his arms), he stepped into the USJ and grinned to see his friends already present. He stepped up to Dakarai and in lieu of anything eloquent, softly greeted her "Hey. How've you been?"

After profuse goodbyes, Dakarai’s internship with Deku had come to a close. It had, overall, been a fantastic experience for her, and the number-one hero had been surprisingly good at hanging back a little to let her face an enemy first so she could gain experience and not just observation.

He hadn’t taken her on, as Dakarai had partially suspected, to take out pent-up frustration with her father, but because he’d wanted to help her grow past familial expectations. It had helped her not just physically (though her clear muscle and scars from injuries that should have been fatal showed that much) but also emotionally, clear in her new easy smile and casually straightbacked way of standing.

Dakarai’s hero costume didn’t look too different, but a fair amount of thought had gone into the design change. Deku had asserted that even heroes needed to know how to ask for help, and though part of her had thought maybe this was his way of making sure she didn’t have her father’s sorely lacking social skills, she welcomed the practice of getting advice from other heroes in his agency.

One of the more poetically-inclined heroes had been a pretty big help in solidifying the image Dakarai wanted to convey while noting safety concerns. It had turned out she was a expert in hero costume design, and that it was Deku’s point that Dakarai ask around until she found the right person for the job, a key skill in being a hero.

Now the dark metal snakes across Dakarai’s temples and cheekbones were reminiscent but far from a copy of her father’s mask, a design she was happy with, as it conveyed the image of her hero name in a way more intriguing than intimidating. She’d entered the USJ with tentative confidence which soared when she saw how her classmates had changed, too. It seemed everyone had grown as people.

When Caleb approached, Dakarai’s smile broadened. “Glad to be back with the gang,” she said with a laugh. “My internship was great, though. What about you?”

As the dust settled, fire rose from Hiro's fist. He wasn't done yet, sure he was looking rather banged up. But it wasn't the worst he had ever looked, sure a few bruises and a bit of blood from his nose but that wasn't going to stop him. Across him was the number 2 hero, Katsuki Bakugo better known as Dynamight. "You done yet? Honestly you're only wasting my time", he sighed, tone colder than usual. Normally this would be a mistake to fight the number 2 hero but Hiro had other ideas. He... wanted to land at least one punch on his face? Honestly it was probably one of the dumbest ideas he had and the look on Bakugo's sidekick's face was enough to say that Hiro's plan was stupid but Hiro was already angry. He wasn't thinking properly and this was clear with the way he was fighting. Charging at the pro hero again, Hiro went for another punch which was easily avoided by a back step before Hiro was met face first with an explosion. It wasn't a massive one but one big enough to cause Hiro to retreat. "Fuck you! You only decided to take me on to gloat at me? You honestly are a piece of shit! I know what you did you twat and I want to pay you back for it", he scowled as he went again to attack. Hiro used his fire this time, throwing two fireballs in Bakugo's direction but they were intercepted before they could even reach him. Hiro honestly was making a fool of himself here. But in a change of events, it seemed Bakugo wanted to take things seriously now as he approached Hiro getting close to him. In that moment he let Hiro land a punch, a solid bare punch to his face. It was enough to leave a mark on the pro's face, "there, you did it. Happy now? I've got stuff to do, and dealing with a child having a temper tantrum isn't one of it so if you're done let's carry on this internship"

~~After internships~~

Hiro had finally finished his internship with Bakugo, well survived it would be a better way of saying it. Who could've guessed putting two hotheads together, one of which had a strong despisal for the other, would lead to a lot of butting heads. He could've easily gone with his own father and learn from him but no, Hiro had something personal against Bakugo and had a few things he wanted to see for himself. It was a miracle the internship didn't end early with the amount of times Hiro tried to challenge the number two hero. But it did have him question why did he decide to take Hiro on of all people? Did he see potential in him? Did he hear about Hiro's treatment of his daughter and wanted to teach him a lesson? Or maybe some ulterior motif. Whatever it was Bakugo saw, it greatly benefitted Hiro.

Hiro's internship with Bakugo centred around one thing... his anger. Hiro needed to put a leash on his anger. He could still remember hearing the truth about his way of handling his quirk. It was still fresh in his mind, him on that rooftop with Bakugo. "You have to stop using your own anger to fuel your quirk like that, because one day you will piss yourself off and make thing harder for not just you but your teammates. Sure you have a lot of raw power but until you can figure out an alternative to your little 'get angry quick ace card' you're going to lose one day and a lot more than you did at the sport's festival". These words just stuck out to Hiro. They refused to leave him. Bakugo knew Hiro hated him, and he knew why Hiro hated him. Yet despite this he didn't turn him down, in fact the more Hiro looked back on it the more he realised he was making things harder than they had to be. But it also confused him why Bakugo had put up with all of it without murdering him.

But he'd save the lesson's for today's training exercise. He had definitely learnt more as a person, that control of his anger would be the first step to getting stronger. He walked into the USJ in his hero costume. It wasn't much different than before except this time he had a noticeable scarf. One that flowed behind him, in the cold winds before he entered the USJ. Maybe it would've been wise to maybe edit his suit a bit for the cold but his flames should keep him warm enough. Hiro was excited to see everyone else after the internships. How they've grown, how they've improved. As excited as he was he couldn't help but feel a tad bit nervous inside. Sure he was controlling his anger much more, but would everyone else see that? Or would they still see him for how he was at the start of the year.

Standing in the USJ, Rako watched some of her classmates chat and greet each other before turning to glance around her as she waited patiently, she of course was happy to see her classmates once again but felt that expressing such feelings would be tiresome and relatively unnecessary. As for her time at her internship she felt their wasn't much to recollect to others about, she had opted to get her internship working under her father, for the pure reason of convenience, her father had told her she would have done better to go with one of the higher ranked heroes who had offered internships but she didn't have the energy to get used to any new people so stuck it out with her father. To his credit he attempted to teach his nonchalant daughter some important lessons the main one being team work, an area she still struggled with to an extent due to her un fazed and care free attitude towards everything and everyone. His lessons had bare some fruit with Rako starting to communicate with the other staff at her fathers agency and even attempting some degree of small talk when off duty, however only when she felt the effort was warranted making these instances of small talk rare and short lived. Her father also attempted to work on her sleeping habits during their time, particularly after she badly injured one of the hero agency staff when they tried to wake her when she opted to take a nap during a patrol, she was reprimanded greatly for that one, a consequence that Rako found as bothersome and time consuming, but she did eventual apologise to the poor man she put in the hospital.

Shaking herself out of her thoughts she opted to step over to Dakarai and Caleb, she gave a small wave to say high to her classmates and then simply stood by the pair not feeling up to sharing stories or actually saying hello she decided to just smile and wait to see what they would say to seeing her, she had never made much attempt to make close friends or anything but had made sure not to make any enemies either, she did however avoid making direct contact with Dakarai as pretty girls made her nervous and didn't help with her social issues so she looked mostly at Caleb as she stood there with slight glances at Dakarai to show she wasn't trying to ignore her.

Caleb smiled, although it was partially hindered by the odd tick in his left eye that made it sometimes narrow as though in anger for an instant. He'd suffered some kind of cerebral damage from pushing his quirk too far and hadn't quite righted itself. He didn't know if this meant it was permanent but he did know it was best not to mention it. "Not too shabby. It hurt, but that's how we grow, right? I got this-" he paused and pulled his ablative armor up enough to reveal his rebar scar. "Pretty nasty, huh?" He chuckled in spite of how he'd almost died. "Anyhow, I got taken in by Helix, the fossil hero." Helix was in the top 50 heroes so most knew him, by appearance if nothing else. He was like a hybrid between a primordial arthropod and a human. Caleb had learned a lot, especially in the realm of self control.

While he was talking, Rako approached the two of them, shyly greeted them and just started staring, at him in particular, it seemed. He smiled and nodded back as he continued, or would have, had they not been interrupted as a buzzer sounded, amplified by the loudspeaker. "I suppose we're about to begin."

The rules didn't need to be explained, as they'd all received emails (plural, whoever set up this exercise was rather thorough). They had to retrieve a moving objective, which was a heavy metal box carried by a robot that was built to be very elusive. The man-sized automaton had a humanoid torso mounted on three pairs of spiderlike legs. As it moved to the starting area, it was clear the thing could move at a blistering pace, even over rough terrain. It even hopped up to fifteen feet in the air with the aid of jet thrusters mounted on its underside. Caleb couldn't tell yet but he'd be willing to bet it could walk on walls like a spider too. But even this wouldn't be terribly hard for the whole class to catch if it weren't for the teachers resisting them. "Almost time. Let's give 'em hell." Caleb cracked his knuckles and pulled off the weights he'd been wearing, dropping them to crack the concrete at his feet.

Flying across the sky, there were the two. Mother and Son. Uravity and the Cosmic Prince. Uraraka lessened their gravity, while the Prince used his repelling streams to move them through the air. It was nice to finally be back home, after being away for so long. An urgent matter in the family had come up and the two had to temporarily move away to get things cleared up. Thankfully, this did not take too long and Inanis was allowed back to U.A. in a relatively short amount of time. And for the better, really. Even if he didn't talk much with most of his classmates, he was feeling homesick. Only back then, he couldn't show it. Now? He was practically bursting at the seams with raw emotion.

Dropping off her soon at U.A. High, Inanis all dressed in his new hero costume that his old classmates most definitely have yet to see, the Pro Hero waved goodbye before hastily jumping off to do her job. Heading straight into the USJ already fully prepared, the now colourful Inanis joined up with his old classmates by quite literally flying in with style and landing with grace, something the old Inanis would undoubtedly have no reason nevermind motivation to do.

" Hello again, everyone! It's so nice to finally be back again! "

“Ooh,” Dakarai winced at Caleb’s scar. “That doesn’t look too good. Must’ve hurt like hell.” She grins. Several parts of her body had jagged lines separating two slightly different skin tones from limbs lost and regenerated, and there was a massive scar across her back from a careless moment that was covered by her hero costume. With all his compassion and emotional intelligence, one thing Deku had not been was soft (no matter what her father told her). He’d only stepped in if it looked like she might pass out and die. She knew a thing or two about serious injuries like that due to the nature of her quirk.

Dakarai gave a light wave to Rako during one of the short moments of time the pink-haired girl was looking at her, then looked up when the loudspeakers came on with a staticky buzz. Dakarai rolled her shoulders and cracked her neck, then made sure her shock device was on. Not that she’d admit it, she had taken some inspiration from Hiro’s shock collar when Deku had told her to think about a failsafe in her altered costume design. It was only just in case— she didn’t think she’d be torn into quite enough for it to be needed to keep her conscious in a training exercise, and her pain tolerance had continued to climb.

The blond girl jumped slightly when Inanis came hurtling in with way more theatrical flair than she thought him capable of. Clearly, he had grown a lot since she’d seen him last. Dakarai waved to him, too, her smile turning slightly incredulous. And considering Hiro hadn’t yelled at anyone yet, he had grown too, though she was a bit wary of him still. Her father had complained about, but also praised him, when talking about his interns at the dinner table, and Dakarai was just a little jealous at the attention he’d been getting from him. But she brushed it aside. She’d changed, and she figured she’d let everyone else show their growth too. They were all new people, and it was a fresh start.

Dakarai was ready.

Unlike the people who were catching up on their time at the internships, Hiro stood away from the others. It's not that he didn't want to talk, no it's just that he had to focus on something really hard. He didn't even notice Inanis' flashy entrance. Instead Hiro's mind was back at the internship, back when he was with Bakugo. Hiro had one hand on his scarf, just fiddling with it to help him think... but what could he be thinking about? Without his anger, Hiro undoubted was still a strong individual however it was true he used it a bit too much as his ace card that now... it could be countered pretty easily. Hiro watched as the spider bot scuttled around the starting area, and to his surprise it was nimble. Even for something with such an awkward shaped body, it seemed to be able to balance pretty well. If anything the way it balanced reminded him of the sports festival match his father showed him of between Tenya Iida and Mei Hatsume. As the buzzer went off to get ready, Hiro really began to focus. He was slowing his breaths, trying to think of a single memory. He needed to get angry, really angry.

There was that one memory. And it definitely was working as his anger was starting to pick up, flames lingering around his fists and flicking out the sides of his mouth. As the spider robot ran off, going down into ruins zone. That wouldn't be useful, the ruins provided a lot of terrain for the spider to use to its advantage. As Hiro's anger continued to boil, it was probably during this point you would do your best to avoid him seeing as he could snap at any moment... but it was just like Bakugo had taught him. He just needed to build up that anger. He kept his eyes on the robot, until it eventually left his vision. Then the buzzer went off for the second time signalling the go. As the buzzer went, Hiro's entire focus shifted. It went from getting angry to now shifting all of that anger and channelling it all into his fists. This was what he learnt with Bakugo. He wasn't trying to get rid of his anger... no, he only needed to focus it. His flames burst from his palms, condensed balls of flame which pushed down into the ground. This sudden blast of flames bellow him, not only cracked the concrete bellow but sent the dust up as it propelled him into the air.

Hiro flung himself through the air, but unlike other fire heroes who were able to achieve flight with their flames, he only let out small bursts whenever he came into contact with a surface to further propel him. The way he moved through the air, it made him seem like a certain explosive hero. He transversed the skylines of the ruined city, looking around at the decaying and crumbling buildings. If he wasn't busy trying to focus his anger into his palms and timing his blasts to maximise his movement, Hiro would've felt ecstatic. He was moving forward, he was finding ways to move forward. Though maybe he should've paid more attention when hopping from building to building. Down bellow a figure was running through the streets, moving so fast that he was only a blur. It didn't help that their costume was black, helping them blend in with the streets and darkened areas. Running along a slanted lamp post, the person launched themselves into the air. Launching themselves... at Hiro.

As a punch flashed before his peripheral, Hiro acting on instinct hardened his scales to lessen the damage before being flung through the wall of a nearby building. It seems their hero course teacher had taken their first victim.

Standing ever vigilant, Rako glanced at Caleb's scar, examining it curiously before turning to look in the direction of Inanis as he made his dramatic entrance, she almost commented on the excessive entrance but was interrupted by the buzzers announcing the go ahead, she noticed Hiro speed off and decided to follow him, she stretched forward using her arms to swing from various edges and structures to keep up with Hiro, she didn't make herself known exactly till someone launched themselves at Hiro the shockwave from their sudden movement knocking Rako to the ground where she instinctively switched to a more malleable state causing to hit the ground with a splat before reforming, "who was that" she muttered in her usual un fazed manner, she came to the conclusion it was highly likely to be one of the teachers and wondered if she should leave Hiro to handle them and go look for the box while the teacher in question was distracted, it seemed the most logical option but her fathers teachings of the importance of teamwork crept into the back of her mind and she shrugged, "guess I'll go see if he needs any help" she muttered and silently glided across the ground to get a look at Hiro's attacker ready to jump in if she saw a logical opening. She stood behind a piece of rubble reshaping her body so that she was perfectly concealed behind it with only the top of her head and her eyes sticking out over the top.

At the second buzzer, wings burst from Dakarai’s back, lifting her into the air shortly after Hiro. Her typical sensory patches emerged on instinct: an eagle’s eye, antennae from a butterfly, a viper’s pit. The transition was a lot smoother; she had learned a lot more about her quirk during the internship. Dakarai closed her eyes to allow the eagle eye to take dominance, focusing the laser vision on a search for movement. It pinpointed Hiro’s attacker, then the objective. Feathers spread and propelled her toward the objective without hesitation. The teachers were a distraction. The box was the goal. As long as the teachers were occupied, someone should be heading for the goal. She’d keep tabs on the box until she herself was—

A beam of light shot up at her from a few ruin chunks that had fallen together in an almost cave-like construction. The smell of singed feathers reached Dakarai’s nose, and she swerved wildly to avoid another beam. She could sense with the viper’s pit organ the residual heat quickly dissipating in the air, as well as a vaguely humanoid shape crouched in the darkness. The odd smell-taste sense of the butterfly confirmed the existence of the hidden figure, but to the eagle’s eye the only visible part was a large, tropical-looking flower with petals spread to the air. Dakarai kept an eye on that as she ignored the attacker and kept following the box. She’d lost some ground.

The eye on the back of her shoulder blade noted the petals close, leaving just a small opening. A small, glowing— Dakarai hurled herself to the side in the air as another beam shot out, a moment of stomach-drop as she folded her wings around herself to become a smaller target, then opened them again to avoid splatting like a pancake. The beams had no visible range limit, but they were tightly-bound in a single white-hot line about six inches thick. Or so Dakarai thought; she should have known a teacher would want to appear predictable.

She was regaining her altitude, tracking the box and watching the flower with an extra eye, when the flower closed as if to fire, then… opened again. That was odd. Each of the spots on the flower’s petals started to glow at once. Dakarai turned to face the teacher just as the beams finished charging and let loose all at once, like a pepperbox of laser beams. Off-balance in her current air position, three of them struck smoking holes in her wings and one grazed her side with the smell of burning flesh. Dakarai fell like a rock, attempting to break her fall with the now-useless wings as she shed them from her body. The burn on her side began to gloss over with new pink skin as she staggered to her feet, facing the flower on the ruins and the teacher she knew it was attached to.
