~Harper, Scientist~
Harper was slightly taken aback, although did a great job of hiding it. Her face remained as stoic as ever.
"Yes, sir." She took the needle delicately, near inconspicuously mouthing "I'm sorry" to the test subject. As lightly as possible, she poked the needle into his arm, drawing with extreme precision. The end result was the exact 1% needed.
She handed the sample back to Stephen, giving a respectful nod of the head. "Here you go, sir."

Impresses by the assistant's good job, he gave her an approving nod, something that he never does, and pretended to act like he knew how much blood she took, though in reality he have no idea what 1% looks like. "Good job," he coughed, "bandage the hybrid up and take him back to his cell, afterwards, come straight back to me." He ordered, thinking that Harper will be useful to him for future projects.

Kino cheerfully plopped down next to Aisa, though a little bit too much to the edge and nearly fell over, catching himself at the last minute before falling. "So, what's the pokemon?" He asked eagerly.

Aisa stretched out a hand to help Kino as he slipped, but he had it under control. She was silent for a moment while she thought of a Pokémon, and decided on one of her favorites.

“Okay, I’m thinking of a Dark Type.”

Her tail flicked back and forth and her ears twitched. She really enjoyed playing with Kino, and it helped her to distract herself from her predicament of... well, being in a cell.

"Dark type..." Kino bounced lightly on his knees, making thinking gestures as he pondered the question, "I don't know any dark types..." he said, though what he should've really said was "I don't even know dark types exist." As he bounced, his gaze travelled. Chung had taught him only so much, never once had he mention any dark types, or at least he haven't gotten to it yet, there is a lot of types out there. "Does it stand on four legs?" He asked instead, not wanting to lose the game.

“Nope! It stands on two legs. But if you don’t know any dark types, I can pick another one if you want.”

Aisa drummed her legs against the bed, trying to think of a backup Pokémon in case he wanted her to change it. She moved up one hand and brushed aside some of her hair.

Taking out a bandage, Harper applied it to the point where the needle had drawn blood. She picked up the hybrid and walked him out of the room.
Once the two were out of Stephen's sight, Harper relaxed. She'd been successful.
She spoke very quietly, hoping to not draw attention. "I'm sorry that I had to hurt you... but it's what's necessary. Please try to cooperate... I really don't want anyone to be hurt."
Once they got to the cell, she gently escorted the hybrid in. Saying nothing, she turned on her heel, closing the cell door behind her.
Replacing her softer side with her cold one, she walked back into the testing room, meeting Stephen's gaze.
"You requested my presence, sir?" she asked.

The only reason Leo was able to catch the silent apology of the woman who had the pleasure of drawing his blood was because of the fact he was directly in front of her while she was doing it.
He'd heard people only got dizzy from blood loss when more than a tenth of their total blood was taken from them, so just 1% seemed like it wouldn't be anything that would harm him, still he blinked when he realized what Harper was trying to say, but kept quiet all the same, at least appreciating her words for what they were, Guess not everyone here is a complete douche...

On the way back, the vermilion eared boy listened intently to his escort until he figured she was done talking as they closed in on his original cell, he rubbed his neck gingerly, just happy to have been rid of the leash placed around his throat in the first place, he found. As they walked to the cell he scratched his neck and turned to Harper with the ghost of a smile, "Thanks, I... guess." Walking back into the cell, he picked at the bandage on his arm a couple times out of boredom, before taking a seat again..
He turned to Chung after a moment or two, "Your friend, the younger kid, he seems fine, or at least he did when he passed by me."

Kino tapped his knees thoughtfully, clearly stumped by this one. Thinking that he basically has no choice, he gave in to her gracious offer. "Okay," he nodded his head, almost hesitantly, "let's go for another pokemon, I can't guess that one," he said.

Stephen coughed awkwardly, too embarrassed to admit he just needs her to solve basic math. "Just...just stand next to me and come in when I tell you too," he ordered.

Aisa sat for a moment or two, trying to think of easier Pokémon. She came up with one that she particularly disliked, and decided to go with that one.

“I’m thinking of a Pokémon that is Purple.”

She didn’t even have to think about the Pokémon to visualize it; those little pests showed up in the dumpster behind the restaurant most nights, and they could be pretty nasty if you came near the dumpster while they were around.

"Ehhhhhhhhhhh..." Kino tilted his head and poked his cheek, "Purple pokemons...what type?" he asked. So far, the only purple pokemon he has ever seen was Taekano's Espeon, but he doesn't even know the name for that pokemon so that was out of the point for him. But even still, he could still describe the pokemon if it counts at all.

Aisa’s ear twitched a bit as she answered.

“Normal types... I really don’t like them, they have big teeth.”

***************

Rory pet Rocky as he sat in front of his computer. He was taking a ‘break’, which meant he got to watch what was going on in the cells over his laptop. Not the greatest amusement... but better than dealing with Stephan instead.

"Normal types...there's a lot of normal types out there isn't there?" he chirped, "Is it... an Eevee?" he guessed since Eevee is a common normal type he kept hearing from the scientist. Not to mention, he has befriended an Eevee before all this, even been one before. Apparently, he 'evolved' or something but that's not the point. "If not then...uhhhh," it took him a while too late to realize eevee is probably the only normal around here in this lab that he's aware of, who knows, maybe he has already guessed an Eevee before in the previous rounds, his childish mind probably just doesn't remember.

“No, not an Eevee, those are brown. Hm... it has a curly tail, if that helps.”

She smiled, a little bit sadly. Did he really not know what Pokémon she was talking about? Had he really spent his whole childhood in a cell? How would he not know this Pokémon?

Willow Tree

Kino ruffled his hair, making a somewhat derpy look, which would've been funny if not for the fact they're in a cell. "Wait, they're brown?!" he exclaimed, smacking himself on the forehead in disbelief. Owning an Eevee back then or not, he'll never admit he got the color purple, pink, brown, and orange all mixed up. "Then is it an...." his derpy look came back, "I don't know what they're called..." he said slowly, "but those pokemon's tail have a split end, and they're purple like you explained." he said, "Oh wait, I'm making you guess my guess." he chuckled, leaning back, feeling like the dizzy spell have long already passed, "Another hint," he chirped instead.

“Nope, that’s not it... no, no... hrm...”

Aisa put her head in her chin, trying to find a way but coming up with nothing. Her tail lashed a bit with frustration, but she calmed herself with an effort.

“Actually, I’m getting a bit bored of this game... do you wanna play something else?”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
Kino tilted his head curiously, tail wagging with the anticipation of a new game, "Something else?" He mimicked, "What else is there too play?" He chirped, leaning forward enthusiastically. "What is it? What is it? Tell me tell me Big Sis~" he pressed, clearly excited for whatever new game there is that she could recommend to him. "Is it another guessing game? Or is it like hide and seek? There isn't much space for us to hide though..." he looked around the room as he said that, "Or are we going to tell jokes now?"

“Err...”

Aisa tried to think of a game, hindered by the bombardment of questions from her young friend. After a moment she plugged her ears and closed her eyes, only to open them up a moment later. She had come up with a game that should work for the time being, and her tail began to wag slightly.

“How about I Spy? Do you know that game?”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
"Uhhhhhh, I think I've played it before with my old friends back then before I arrived here." He said, tapping his chin as he tried to recollect his childhood memories. "And I think Chung played with me sometimes to kill time." He added. "It's basically the game where we look at something and give hints so the others can guess right?" He piped, trying out his guess as best of he could. "We're there any rules with it? I can't remember...." he scratched his head confusingly, "Or were there none...?"

“I don’t think there are any particular rules, your description sounds pretty accurate... oh, yeah, you have to say ‘I Spy with my little eye something’ and then you give a clue to the thing you picked out. I guess I’ll go first again...”

She paused a moment to pick her target, glancing around the cell for something that might work. Her ears twitched slightly and then she spoke.

“Okay, I Spy with my little eye... something Yellow.”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
"Uhhhhhh, yellow...." his ears perked as he gazed around the room and cells for the bright color, to no avail as everything he sees are whether the cold dark gray of the cage bars, or the plain white of the bedsheets. No yellow. "Ummmm, my shirt?" He guessed, fidgeting with the collar of his yellow uniform. "Or, uhhhhh, this thing?" He bleeped, gathering up his fluffy natural Flareon chest fur, "They're yellow...but also a bit red." He added.

“Yep, it was your shirt.... your turn, I guess.”

Aisa was a bit disappointed that he had guessed so easily, but it was her own fault for choosing the only yellow thing in the cell. She crossed her arms, prepared to try to guess his target. She also gave a very slight yawn, wondering how much longer until it would be time to sleep, and if they would draw more blood the next day. She shivered as she remembered the cruel scientists.

"Okay okay, um um, lemme see lemme see...." Kino's eyes darted across the room, trying to find even the tiniest crevice for him to explain, to no luck as this cell isn't playing along. "I spy with my little eye...er...something....long and misshapen." He finished, eyeing Chung's tail in a mischievous manner.

“Hm.”

Aisa looked around the cell to try and find something matching the description Kino gave, but didn’t see anything that could fit... unless... She leaned closer and whispered into his ear.

“Is it one of the guy in the corner’s wings?”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
"Eh?" He whipped his head towards the guy she mentioned, then chuckled and shook his head. "No, I don't think his wings are that misshapen." He laughed, "But is a pokemon feature." He told her, hoping that'll help a bit.

“Hmm...”

Aisa stood up and walked to the border of the cell so she could get a better view of the general area, but missed seeing Chung’s tail. However, tails did cross her mind so she turned around to look at Kino.

“Is it my tail? I don’t think it’s that misshapen but it doesn’t hurt to check...”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
Kino shook his head, seemingly enjoying teasing her as she ponder the answer, "Nope! Not your tail!" He chirped, "But you're close! It's a tail alright!" He held his own fluffy tail, "Not mine!" He squeaks, "Mine is far from misshapen!" He huffed, almost proudly, "I groom it to pass the time, when Big Bro won't play with me." He said, shooting Chung a little harmless glare, "So I make sure it's always in the perfect condition, haha." He flipped his tail in a gloating manner, and laughed. "But yeah, it's a tail, but not yours."

Aisa sighed and continued to search. It took a few minutes, but she finally saw Chung’s tail. She felt sure she had it now, and turned back to Kino with a confident smile.

“Is it that guy’s tail? That must be it, I don’t see anything else that could possibly be it!”

At that moment Rory walked up and waved, back to take the food trays. He smiled at them both, and turned his attention to Kino.

“Hey, you feelin better? I heard they took quite a bit of blood! If you want I could probably bring you an extra snack later.”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
Kino clapped his hand, laughing, "You got it! You got it!" He chirped happily. Then his ears twitch at the mention of extra snacks and he plop off the bed, bolting towards the cage bars with sparkling eyes. "Can I?" He bleeped at Rory, tail wagging, "What snack will it be? Tell me tell me," he pressed, lounging against the bar lazily, "Is it corn chips again?" He pouted, "Those tastes bland." He complained.

“Yay!”

Aisa pumped her arm up and down in victory, but froze and looked at Rory. Although he had certainly been kinder than the other scientists she had met, she still didn’t trust him. Meanwhile, Rory scratches his head and looked thoughtful for a moment. He would have to pick something out that wouldn’t get him in too much trouble for giving the Flareon Fusion.

“Well... we’ll have to see, I have to check with the chef. But I might be able to give you either a special treat to go with your dinner, or maybe I can get my hands on some chocolate.”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
"Chocolate!" Kino cheered, tail wagging nonstop, "They taste sooooooooo good!" He chirped, obviously happy with the choice of snack Rory is offering him. He turned to Aisa, a excited look in his eyes, "Have you tasted chocolate Big Sis?" He asked, "Do they have that outside?"

“Yes, I’ve had chocolate before. Not super often, I usually had to save my money, but I treated myself to a chocolate bar once or twice.”

She had to pause for a moment. Her friend seemed so happy, even in this cell. How would he feel if he knew more about the outside world? Aisa made an attempt to hide her concern and took on a joking tone.

“And of course they have chocolate, silly! Where do you think the food comes from? I doubt they have their own apple tree and things here.”

Rory spoke up from outside the bars as he typed in the code on the small, safe-like device and collected the trays.

“Actually, we do have an apple tree here. It doesn’t really produce any apples, though, just part of an old experiment. I think they said it had something to do with pollination... but yeah, the food is brought in from outside the lab. I should know, I have to help unload it from the truck and into the lab.”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
Kino laugh at Rory's retort, not even trying to quiet himself down, "I didn't know there were apple trees!" He exclaimed, "And I've always thought the scientist made those chocolates, they made the pills, so why not the chocolates too?" He bleeped, "Should've known they'll never be that nice." He pouted, "Keeping all the goof stuff to themselves, those people." He huffed.

Both Rory and Aisa were not quite sure how to respond, so Rory merely waved goodbye and walked off with the trays. He was supposed to collect them a while ago, but had gotten busy and hadn’t been able to collect them until just around lunchtime. Aisa looked after him for a moment as he walked away, and then went back to the bed. She still felt a nagging in her mind about her friend, and wanted to learn more about him. She didn’t want to be rude either, but she had a way she could get information that would also be fun for both of them.

“Hey, have you heard of the game Two Truths and a False?”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
"Hm? Ummmmm, I don't think so." He answered, leaning against the bars and tapping his chin, "But the title of the game is pretty self-explanatory." He pointed out, "It's basically two truths and one lie right?" He guessed, "Never played it before but it sounds fun, are we going to play it?"

“Sure, if you want to! Basically, you say two things about yourself that are true, and one false thing. Then the other player, or players have to guess which of the things is false.”

She glanced over at the Venomoth Fusion in the corner, wondering if they should invite him to join. She wasn’t sure about him, though, so she decided that she would let him join if he asked to but wouldn’t make an approach herself. She focused back on the game.

“I guess I’ll go first again... okay, I have more than one sibling, I like parties, I work at a restaurant.”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
"Um, okay okay, lemme see lemme see..." Kino squinted at her, trying to see if she had any evidence of whether working at a restaurant or not. "Um.....you don't seem to be the type to party...so...that's the lie." He guessed.

“Yep, you’re right! Your turn now. I’m kinda surprised you got it so easy.”

Her ears twitched slightly as she talked. She leaned back into a more relaxed position on the bed, preparing to guess. She curled her tail onto her lap and began stroking it as the game continued.

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
"Alright alright, let me think...." he thought for a while, pondering on his truths and lies, "I've stayed with my grandma the entire time before all this happened, I have two siblings, and I've never own a pokemon." He listed, and looked at her, waiting for her to guess his lie.

Aisa pondered the question for a moment or two. She remembered that he had said he was fused with his Eevee, or at least that was what she thought he had said. She would have to make a random guess from the other two choices. Neither seemed more likely to her than the other.

“Uhm. Maybe the siblings?”

Willow Tree

Previously Brightheart
He clapped his hands, "Yep! I've never had a brother or sister!" He chirped, "So I can only replace them with everyone else around me." He laughed, "You guessed it so easily Big Sis! You must have been a lie detector before this." He complimented, "Your turn!"
