Hey, this is my first rp I want to start on this site. It will be a Kanto Pokemon League Championship (like in the anime) that will be open to a maximum of 16 participants.
If you want to join in please post a bio for your character below.
Here are the rules (in addition to the global rules on this site ofc):
- only 1 character per person can enter the tournament (you can create 1 additional "support character" if you want to)
- only Pokemon from generation 1 can be used in your teams that enter battle (no legendaries, no Megas and no Alolan-Forms; the typechanges from gen 2 and 6 concerning the Steel and Fairy Type are applied)
- all Pokemon have to be included in your bio (min. 6, max. 8 ) alongside their ability and 4 moves that can not change during the tournament and have to be considered "legal" (Pokemon can learn the move by either Level Up, TM/HM, Move Tutor or Breeding, if you are not sure what a Pokemon can learn look it up on bulbapedia)
- if you need to talk out of character please use this thread to avoid disrupting the rp
- stay realistic during battle (do not dodge moves endlessly and keep types in mind)
- do not post in the rp if you have no approval

The bio of my character can be used as an example, but you are free to add some more points to your own (you backstory doesn't need to be as long as mine)

Backstory: Leon is young man who managed to escape from Reborn City during a dark time for the region. He was 16 when he left his native region and decided to travel in order to gain enough experience as a trainer to one day travel back to Reborn City and help it's citizens. After arriving in the Kanto Region he started to explore the Region alongside his Pokemon-partner Gastly. During his time in Kanto he managed to catch a lot of Pokemon and gain a lot of experience while taking on the eight Gyms for their Badges. Five months after obtaining his final badge he recieved a letter with an invitation for the annual Kanto League Championship.

Clothing: Damon wears a dark maroon jacket with black track pants underneath. He has a watch on his wrist and always carries a toothpick in his mouth. He has goggles on his head, he only puts them on when he gets serious in a battle, just so he doesn't have to look his opponent in the eyes and can show absolutely no mercy. He also has black combat boots.
Backstory: Damon was raised by his grandmother Ultima on Two Island, from the way he was raised he only ever learned one lesson, and that was that defeat was never allowed. He would train against large groups of trainers at a time, battling them in a streak, and if he ever lost even one Pokemon during a battle, he'd be told to start again. From this brutal training, Damon made sure that his Pokemon knew that there was no reason to ever lose. He has zero respect for other trainers, only respect for authority figures like Gym Leaders. Damon never lost a Pokemon during his Gym Battles and intends to do the same during the League.

Backstory: Chase was raised by his strict researcher of an uncle who forced him to study all throughout his youth in hope of turning him into a great researcher like himself. Chase tired from all the nonstop studying wanted more out of life when he turned the age of 11 he ran away from home to set off on his journey. Since leaving home he took on a more carefree and easygoing personality cause of this other trainers often underestimate him only when he is battling they find out how clever he really is. After collecting all eight badges Chase took the time to relax until he received a letter that included a invitation for the annual Kanto League Championship.

Appearance: Caleb has shaggy hair that has been dyed navy blue, with brown eyes. He wears a dark green jacket with a grey undershirt, along with a pair of black jeans and blue sneakers. He also wears a red-and-black backpack.
Backstory: Caleb was a teacher at a local Pokemon Trainer School from the age of 19. He always got along well with young kids for some reason. He didn't honestly know why, but if he had to have a reason, it would probably be because of his parents. He just applied what they taught him to his students. Unfortunately, the school shut down due to a lack of budget to keep it open, and the space was repurposed for a house. This both emotionally hurt and, surprisingly, motivated Caleb into participating in the Pokemon League Championships.

Backstory: Born in Vermillion City, his family was known for creating clocks and similar things, they were often known as the clock-smiths, or clock makers of the city. However they never had any pokemon with them, and thus were somewhat unable to protect their own shop. So many burglars would often rob them of their precious clocks. And the family was left quite a bit poor. However their son was never gonna let this stop him. He had to travel around the globe, and catch pokemon so he could become strong, and so he could help his family somehow financially, so he set his eyes on the indigo league. Having battled his way to it, he plans on challenging the other trainers and participating, hopefully winning.

I mean, surely you can't expect every online community to adhere to the same set of rules, now, can you?

Either way, regardless of what other communities may or may not have minded - those communities are not this one. We have our own set of rules and we do actually enforce them - and no, we can't have posts that bounce from present to future (which is a nonsensical tense to write in anyway in this context) without rhyme or reason especially when the RP forum rules are quite clear about how posts should be written. When ALL of a person's posts are consistently like that, this warrants action.

Alright, it's a shame that some of the story was lost because of it but da rules are da rules. Just get back into the story from the current point and pretend the deleted posts never existed for story purposes.

@ManyAchievables @Gamingfan @Dustyisrich you have 24 hours from now on to answer the main thread before we start the first round and fill in the missing people with some random joeys everyone comes up with. All 3 of you have to post something either here or in the main thread or you will be taken out of the rp. In these 24 hours I will allow new people to join but after that we start the first round. Sorry to pressure you but we won't get anywhere if we just wait for 2 weeks and nothing happens.

Sorry about that anyways, I just didn't realize. I'll be sure to pay more attention.

@Gamingfan and @Dustyisrich due to no response you are no longer part of the rp. As we are 5 remaining roleplayers the first two rounds will be against trainers we will come up with ourself for 3 of us the other 2 only have the first round and will battle eachother in round two. The battle will be in the following order: Damon, Chase, Caleb, Leon, Isabelle. That also means Leon will battle Isabelle in round two. To keep things short round 1 will be a 3 on 3 battle as of round two we fight 6 on 6. Everyone will have 48 hours to post their respective battle (time starts after the person before you posted their battle for Damon the time will start after I put a post that announces the start of round 1. Others are invited to have their charakters interact with eachother between battles. As for the battles between us I would say we put our Pokémon into Showdown (I will do a seperate post about specifics) and do the battle there. After the battle one of the two uses the log data to write the battle as a story (pls ask the person you fought about some lines they say during the battle. (I know it kind of defeats the purpose of the roleplay but if we do it properly we will sit here and watch ppl write oneliners about their next move over a span of 3 weeks. If someone has a better idea of how to do the battles I'm open for recommendations.)
