I never did get around to reading what the rules were until now...

Sounds like a pretty lax tournament, which is what I like to see. I'm curious about your mention of the "team preview" feature being turned on however. Is there actually a way to turn it off? =o

I dunno. I mention it in case Nintendo can for some tournaments. XD
