Ask to Join Illidithia Chronicles: Trial of the Blood Elves

Long ago, The ancient dragon named Illidith created the continent of Illidithia. Illidithia was vast land covered in a large forest. Illidith created the High Elves to dwell in this land. Due to Illidithia’s varied regions, High Elves adapted to each region. Dark Elves in the nearby caves, Mountain Elves on the tallest peaks of Illidithia, Coast Elves on the beautiful beaches, and wood Elves in the vast woods of Illidithia. The land was prosperous, so prosperous in fact, that species of other continents came to live there. Humans, Lizard-Folk, Aarakocra, Merfolk, Dwarfs, Halflings, Orcs, Aasmir, teiflings and others inhabited the land.

All was not perfect though. A lone High Elf discovered a magical rift space and time. Using his magical abilities, he opened it. A Tarrasque entered the Earthly plane of existence. Illidith recognized it’s presence and flew to a section of the forest. The Tarrasque, sensing a great power, arrived there too. After days of combat, the Tarrasque snapped Illidith’s neck. After years of turmoil, all the races of the land tried fight the great Tarrasque. Leading the charge were the High Elves and Their Allied race, Humans. Using their magical prowess, the High Elves created Arcana, a sentient magical construct. Humans also created a new race, metal Giants known as Warforged.

Years passed, and all efforts to stop the Tarrasque had failed. A group of High Elves left their Kin to keep the Tarrasque in check. This group made their way to the battleground of the Tarrasque and the deceased Illidith. Years later, a new race has surfaced, a group of canniblistic barbaric fey called Blood Elves, that have kept the Tarrasque in line for quite some time. The High Elven King settled with Blood Elves killing his people, as long as the Tarrasque doesn’t rain hell upon Illidithia once more.

But one person isn’t happy with this. And she might just be able to end Illidithia’s turmoil. And that is were our story begins.

Uinen placed her crown on her head. The newly corinated Queen of Self Falas was reluctant to take up the crown from her mother at such a young age. She sighed and looked out here window. The previous queen of Selif Falas had been killed in Blood Elf raid, which was strange, Blood Elves usually avoid royalty in their raids.

Uinen looked out at the city of Falas Elleth. The city’s buildings were mostly made of Palm leaves, with a thin wooden frames, making their buildings weak. Due to the weak buildings, the Coast Elves were an easy target for Blood Elves.
________________
Druin had come to Selif Falas to hunt. Selif Draug’s hide cost pretty penny of black market. He breathed as he nocked an arrow. The Dark Elf had his eyes on the prize. Selif Draugs were shiny, so the stuck out like a sore thumb. Druin let loose the arrow towards the wolf. The draug wa startled and ran before the arrow could make contact. The black wood arrow embedded in a palm tree behind the preivious position of the Selif Draug.

“Dammit,” Druin muttered as he chased the Selif Draug towards Falas Elleth.

Hawken slowly made his way down the beaten path to his race's mainland. The trip was still far, and the many books about magic weighed him down. The man remembered a spell from one of the books about travel. The Ewaz rune spell. Hawked reached back for his solid rowan wood staff. It was customly made out of rowan, a wood best used for magic. Hoping the spell was correct, he placed the tip of the staff on the ground. The M-shaped rune appeared on the hard ground. Behind Hawken, a horse ran up spontaneously. Ewaz, summons transportation perfect for the situation. He climbed on, causing the animal to run forward.

Druin pursued the Selif Draug all they way to Falas Elleth. He nocked another arrow mid sprint. Do to him being in such a rush, the arrow was way of course. It embedded into a palm tree post near the city entrance, near a guard.

Druin drew his broadsword and tried to chase down the animal. The guard from before watched. He signaled for other guards to follow him. Selif Falas guards don’t like it when people harm Selif Draugs. A guard charged and tackled Druin, rendering him unconscious.

Uinen entered the Thorne room. A Coat Elf guard charged into the room,” Milady, Blood Elves are attacking our eastern most border.”

Uinen quaked in fear a little, she had no idea what to do. Until about three days ago, she was soldier. “Is it civilized?” Queen Uinen asked nervously.

“Yes, only a small town, but it’s a large enough battalion that once they get past that small settlement, they’d have the man power to take out a get chunk of Selif Falas.” The guard said.

“Well, send word out to a few other outposts, and ready my carriage, I’m coming with you” Uinen stated.

“But Princes- I mean Queen, you can’t risk your life out there!” The guard stammered.

“Just do what I asked.” Uinen said with a wave of her hand.

After days of walking in the wilderness. Maika finally arrived at Selif Falas, a place that was connected to a very big lake called sea, it's even bigger than Lake Elinor!

She walked at the beach with pure awe, enjoying the salty breeze and the sounds of waves crashing the shore. This was her first time visiting a sea, and this was her main reason for visiting Selif Falas. She wondered if there was anyone who sell seawater fish, Gramps said seawater fish is delicious.

"Hear, hear. little missy. Care to buy one or two of this grilled fish?" an old elf approached her with a basket filled with grilled fish. A lucky encounter for her.

"Sure, but only one." The man nods and gave her one. She took a bite of the fish before saying. "Mister, I don't have any money." The man looks shocked and angry, his face turned a bit red.

"Why you little-"

"So can I pay with this curry powder?" She held out a small sack of orange powder.

"I only accept money! Why should I get paid with curry powder anyway."

"I'm sure you wouldn't regret it, mister. It's halfling's recipe." Hearing the word halfling the man opened the sack and tried a bit of it.

"HmMmm, not bad. I accept this, but don't pull that kind of trick to me again!" The man left. Maika just shrugged and continued her walks. She shouldn't gave her curry powder that easy, now she barely had half the amount the amount she brought from home.

Hawken rode slowly upon his magic steed as the sounds of warriors crying in battle. "Hrm?" He said to himself, as the men made their way to attack the town near the coastal city. "I guess a detour is needed." He said to himself, nudging the horse in the city's direction. To quickly make his way there, Hawken sent the horse to a gallop.

Hawken rode up to the settlement walls. Signaling a guard, he called out, "You need a magic user?" The guard shook his head, not believing in his magic. The sorcerer waved his hand, sending the horse into magical particles that dispersed instantly. The guard, in shock, let him inside the settlement. "So, where am I needed?"

Queen Uinen left the castle. The castle of Falas a Elleth was only building in all of Selif Falas to be made out of more than just palm trees. The fresh sea air swept across the Fey’s face. A guard hand her harpoon to her as she entered here carriage. Guards escorted the carriage towards the battleground. The journey would take an hour or two, so Uinen decided to make small talk with the guard inside here carriage.
___________
Druin regained consciousness abruptly as the guards in the outpost were running around like chicken with their heads cut off. A Guard grabbed him by the shoulders and shouted in his face,” Quick, an army of Blood Elves are at our doorstep, we need all the help we can get! Take your sword and bow, and you’ll be released, with no charges!” The guard rushed out the door once he finished his statement.

“Okay then,” Druin said as he picked up his sword and bow. He then rushed into the fray.

Maika saw a large group of topless guys with fishing spear marching to a direction. Out of curiousity, Maika followed these people and asked one of them.

"Hey, what group is this?" The one furthest in the back answered her.

"Blood Elves! They're gonna attack us so we make a local militia to help our brothers and sisters. We might not be soldiers, but that won't hinder us from volunteering ourself! Just look at these muscles!" The elf puff his left bicep and by using a series of muscle contracting, made the muscle move like it was some kind of living blob.

"Woa, gro- I mean, amazing!" Maika exclaimed, almost saying 'gross'. "But are these blood elves bad guys?"

"Yes, they frequently attack us."

"Then let me help! I can fight! Master Shiyunsai told me to help those in need." Maika performed some very fast punches into the thin air.

"I appreciate your enthusiasm, human. But we are dealing with savage fighter here. I don't think you fast punch will-" a palm tree in the direction where Maika punched suddenly collapsed, the middle section where the tree collapsed showed an evidence of powerful blunt force. "Ok, you are in."

As the blood elves marched forward, Hawken stepped forward. From behind him, a guard called over, "Um, sir? Stand back?" He tried to warn him. Hawken shook his head no, lifting his rowan staff, a magical aura spreads before him. It slowly shapes into fire for a fire wave spell. "BURST!" He said in a loud, deep voice sending the wave forward. The heat from the spell hit Hawken, making his hair fly back.

Druin leapt at Blood Elf and swung his broadsword. The opposing Fey quickly brought up his sword to counter. The two blades clashed and made a loud screeching noise. Druin hesitated, these Blood Elves were not going to be easy foes. The Drow quickly switched to his bow. The black wood of his bow gleamed in the midday sun. He nocked an arrow as he pointed the bow at the Blood Elf.

He losses his arrow. The high speed projectile made it’s way towards the Blood Elf. The Blood Elf brought his sword up in defense, but was too late. The arrow embedded in the Blood Elves arm, rendering his arm useless. The Blood Elf dropped his sword. The soft sand of Selif Falas cushioned the fall, making no noise when it fell.

Druin grabbed his sword and rushed at the Blood Elf. He swung his Blood at the Blood Elf’s torso. The defeated Elf collapsed to the sand.
____________
Uinen stepped out of her carriage and grasped her harpoon. She may be new at being Queen, but combat was something she was use to. The Coast Elf charged into the village with the other Elves, but strangely, a Dark Elf Assassin and High Elf Scorcerer had already engaged in combat.

More Blood Elves charged into the battle. Uinen smiled and and ran towards the battle. She thrust her harpoon into a Blood Elf. Uinen’s harpoon, like all other harpoons, have a rope and the end. The harpoon entered the flesh of the Blood Elf. Uinen pulled back on here rip as hard as she could, which thrust the Blood Elf towards Uinen. When the Blood Elves was in range, Uinen pulled the harpoon from the Blood Elf, harpoons are equipped with a barb
, which made the spear’s exit from the Blood elves body extremely painful.

The Blood Elf dropped to the ground as his blood stained the sand.

The militia entered the battlefield with a deafening battle cry. Maika followed their cry because that seemed fun. They raised their spears and charged at the nearest enemy. Instead of doing one on one battle though, these militia instead made groups of five person. They surrounded the enemy one by one and overwhelm them by number. Maika couldn't join their pre-made group so she decided to snuck at the edge of the battlefield to took out blood elf archers. Or that's what she intended, but she bumped into a blood elves with camouflage cloak creeping along the way. For a moment they just stared at each other.

"YOU!" Maika pointed at elf. The elf lunged at Maika with a dagger in his hand. Maika dodged, or at least attempted to dodge, but her left arm still scraped by the dagger. A line of blood apeared, but there's an unusual blue liquid among it. Poison!.

Maika took one huge jump and kicked the elf head, the elf fell unconscious to the ground. Now that she had a little time alone, she sat and concentrate to purify her body and destroy the poison.

After the blood elf fell, Uinen moved on to another. Uinen thrust her harpoon towards the elf, but the other elf grabbed the harpoon. Uinen, out of shock, dropped the rope attached to her harpoon. As the elf pulled the harpoon forward, the rope circled around Uinen's ankle. The other pulled the harpoon. Uinen tripped and was dragged across the ground by the elf. after couple seconds of being dragged via rope, Uinen was about 2 feet away from the blood elf. The blood elf pulled out a dagger and placed it to the Coast Elf's throat.

"Looks like it's the end of the line for you," The blood elf smirked.

"I actually it's the end for you," Druin exclaimed, with a bow in hand and an arrow at the ready. The blood elf looked up from Uinen towards Druin. When the blood elf made eye contact with Druin, the dark elf let loose his arrow, which landed in the blood elf's chest.

The blood elf's body landed on Uinen. With quick shove, Uinen pushed the blood elf's corpse off of her. "Thank you," Uinen said as she brushed the sand off her body.

"Don't mention it," Druin responded. As soon as the words left Druin's mouth, a loud, unearthly roar broke out across all of Selif Falas. The roar came from the Tarrasque, signalling it was time for the blood elves to return.

Hawken sent another wave of force forward, causing the ground itself to overlap. Blood elves fell down allowing the defenders to kill them off easy. "Nice trip." He said quietly to himself. A blood elf somehow snuck behind Hawken and tried to stab him in the back. The sound of his footsteps alerted Hawken. His staff flew back into the elf's gut, causing it to double over. A few more quick movements sent the elf's head from side to side being forcefully smacked by the heavy staff.

Hawken looked up to hear the ear-splicing sound of retreat. "Finally." He said to himself. Turning back to the defenders, Hawken nodded and turned back to the road. The captain of the guard caught his arm. "Please don't leave yet. You helped prevent a catastrophe in our kingdom." The captain was in fact impressed by the sorcerer. "Please, you must dine with us tonight in celebration." Hawken was never one to turn down a party. "Fine then, I will join you tonight."

Uinen picked up her harpoon. Her coral crown had been lost in the sand after being dragged. She picked it up and placed it on here head. Druin watched from a distance. He strapped his bow to his back and asked,"I beg your pardon, but Are you the queen of Selif Falas?I heard the name Uinen, which i connected to princess Uinen, and it's come to my attention the queen has recently passed away."

Uinen walked towards the carriage and gestured for Druin to follow,"Yes, dark elf, and you saved my life, that deserves a feat, over great victory over the blood elves." Uinen stated as she smiled at Druin, and then she realized his lime green eyes, showing blood elf ancestory. She hesitated a little, but gestured for Druin to join her in her carriage

When the roar tore the sky, the blood elves started retreating. But the elf that Maika just smacked into unconsciousness suddenly rose and waddle into the direction where the blood elves retreat.

"Hello? Ahoii?" Maika waved her hand in front of the elf, but got no reaction. She decided to hit the back of the elf's head. The elf fell to the ground. But he rose again and waddle in the same direction. Maika hit him again, resulting in the same thing happened. A spear pierced the elf's body and this time he couldn't rise anymore.

"Good job." The militia from before approached her.

"But I don't do much." Maika replied.

"You survived, and that's a good job. How about join us later? We will celebrate this victory and give departing gift for our fallen bretherns." He said the last part with a forced smile. Maika nods, accepting the invitation. Battlefield was not all glory. She remembered the one-sided slaughter years ago and could felt it still stung her inner-self with guilt.

Druin entered the carriage with Uinen. He sat down across from her. Uinen, knowing about the trip ahead, decide to get to know more about this stranger that saved her."So, what's your name?" Uinen asked as she gave her harpoon to a guard to clean.

"Druin, Druin Fey-Slayer," Druin replied. he pulled out his sword and started to clean the blood off of it also.

"Fey-Slayer, intimidating, well, don't slay me then," Uinen smirked. She looked out the side of the carriage as it started moving, just then noticing the amount of casualties.

"It's just a title, milady," Druin stated.

Uinen laughed," IIII know, it as meant to be a joke, silly."

The people started to clean up the mess. Corpse rots, and rotten corpses would spread dangerous illness if not buried immediately. Blood elves would be buried in one mass grave while the coast elf would get their own individual sea-burial. Maika know nothing about sea-burial so she helped digging the mass grave for the blood elves. When she was digging the big burial hole, an elf aproached her.

"I have heard from Derkin. Thank you for the help." He was the fish seller from before, he had new scar on his left shoulder.

"Ah, never mind. I just uphold the principle that my master told me." She replied while shoveling some soil. The elf nods then walked away, but before he left he said to Maika.

"And that curry. It was delicious. Thank you." Maika smiled at this remark and dig faster than before, as if she was energized by the words.

The carriage arrived at Falas Elleth, Uinen left the carriage and went to her room, while the master chefs prepared a feast of ocean fish. Uinen sat on her bed and the past few days finally weighed here down. She burst into tears about ho her mother is dead, and new thing to worry about, the constant threat of Blood Elves. Then, an Idea popped into her head, What if we could stop the Tarrasque, yes. If we kill the Tarrasque, the blood elves will be able to return back to civilization. I'll bring this up at the dinner, I'll need a party, we must unite the races of the land once more.

Hawken lifted both arms up, causing an unseen force to lift the dead bodies of lost lives. "Shame people died from this." He mumbled to himself. A kid watched from beside as Hawken used his show of magic. "Jolly Mister. Your a wizard?" The kid asked, hoping so. Hawken shook his head no. "Sorry lad, no wizard. But I'm better. A sorcerer." The kids eyes light up with joy at the words. Wanting to tell all his friends, the boy ran off.
"You gave that kid some joy." The captain said to Hawken. "If I may ask, what are you planning on doing when you leave?" He asked Hawken. To which Hawken shrugged. "No idea. I travel alot in search of new magics. I think I might hunt down the queen of these lands in question of magic. I hear she might have an idea." The guard looked in the direction of the main city in this kingdom. "Find me when you leave. I'll send you off with a letter holding recommendations on my behalf." The guard told Hawken before turning back to help with the rest of the work.

Druin wandered around Falas Elleth. While he walked, he pondered how incredible it was that he could go from being in jail, to getting praised. The Drow had only ever been to places to fulfill contracts, now granted, he was here to fulfill a contract. Druin pondered his contract, and wondered if he would actually go trough with it. She was nice to me in that carriage, I can’t believe it, I’m actually questioning whether or not I should kill her.

As a result of helping with the raid and burial. Maika was given some money, Maika accept it because the elder who gave her money insist. He said he didn't want to owe a human anything, or something like that. Anyway, Maika spent the rest of the day gathering herbs around Selif Elleth and talking with some other random civilans.

(Ooc: Alright, everyone, Timeskip to night)

Bic:

One of the sergeants grabbed Uinen and led her to the grand dining hall. Arranged in tables were several large ocean fish, all cooked to perfection. To go along with the main course, several small crab leges were arranged as appetizers and coconut’s were cut open to quench the guests thirst at each seat. Uinen sat in a large, ocean themed throne, complete with a sea turtle’s shell as the seat, seashell arm rests, and a coral back rest.

Maika stuffed herself with all kind of foods. She took a but of fish, a bit of sea urchin, a bit of squid, a bit of crabs and lots of shrimps. She found the outer skin of the shrimps crunchy and delicious. What's more, she never ate one in Rolling Hills. Shrimps probably would make a good souvenir.

Maika foods raid was distracted by the arrival of the coastal elves queen. Maika never thought that the queen herself would attend this party, she thought this was civilan-only. Oh wait, the foods were too delicious for a civilan party, and there were guard too, so it made sense that the queen was here. Anyway, she sat in a uncomfortable-looking throne made of sea ornaments. If it was her she would prefer an ordinary wooden chair, but this might be the so called cultural-difference in play.

The party seemed to halt into silence when the queen sat down. Maika followed by stopping her food raid, did everyone waiting for the queen to say something?

Wow, this throne is uncomfortable, Uinen thought as she looked at the crowd in front of her, oh, Illidith help me, this is terrifying! How did mother do this so often?

Uinen coughed and started to nervously sweat. Alas, Uinen cleared her throat and began to speak, after a few seconds of awkward silence,” Uh, Hello, as most of you know, we killed a bunch of blood elfs today, This gave me hope. Maybe, just maybe, he could bring the fight into the Scorched Lands and slay the Tarrasque. This would make the Blood Elves good, basically ending a lot of turmoil that’s happened in Illidithia for a long time. And so, Iwill assemble a party that will try to unite the races and bring the battle to the Tarrasque! Can I get any volunteers?”

No Coast Elven guard raised their hand. Druin, who was tired of being discriminated for being part Blood Elf, slowly raised.

Hawken saw that nobody rose their hands. Missing the one who did, he stood up abruptly. "Hey queen lady, maybe if you put it differently." Hawken spoke like he was talking to a friend, not royalty. Holding his arms out, "Those blood elves killed many of you. You all lost many families and friends in battle. Hows about we go kill a thing called Tarrasque? Seems easy enough?" Hawken spoke in a language most understood, easy understanding.

“Sorry, I’m new at this,” Uinen said,” It’s not like we’re going to face the Tarrasque with just a group of under five people (Ooc: *Wink*) I just want to gather group to unite the nations. The Blood Elves won’t be able to defeat all of Illidithia...” Uinen paused for a second,” Again. Anymore volunteers?”

Maika gulped down her foods and raised her hands. "Looks interesting and I want to join...! But before that, can I know these blood elves detailed history with tarrasque and how exactly you want to unite all nations?" Having lived her life secluded in small halfling community, she never took interest in the history of the world. This may as well be a good chance to start learning things.

“Blood Elves, a brutal race of High Elves who broke away from their Fey brethren to keep a magical beast in chech, known as the Tarrasque, a beast do large and powerful it was able to beat the great dragon Illidith in combat. The Blood Elves, seeing this as the only way to appease the Tarrasque, was to resort to cannibalism. After the Tarrasque killed Illidith, all the races of the land attempted to kill the Turrasque, failing miserably, the Tarrasque wiped out a good portion of Illidithia’s population,” Uinen explained to the girl who volunteered. Before she raised her hand, she stuffed the food at her table in her mouth, which made Uinen laugh.

Maika nods. She might forget it later but for now she understood the story. She still had unanswered question though.

"So.. This party you talking about. It is some kind of ambassador or something?"

“Yes actually, So, do I have anymore volunteers, it’s not like we’re going to directly fight the Tarrasque with a small party, we’ll leave at dawn, anyone who wants to join can come see me in courtyard.” Uinen said as she stood up and left the room.

Uinen entered the court yard. Now, this was an interesting courtyard, not what you would imagine. The courtyard consisted of Palm Trees aligned in rows, the walls of the courtyard were longed with glass, one of Selif Falas exports. Behind the glass were aquarium tanks with various fish, including sea turtles and coral formations.

Maika stuffed some more food into her mouth before she excused herself from the group of local militia. "I'm going to the courtyard. See ya!"

She walked into the courtyard and found herself in the strange area. The palm trees is placed strategically so they would form something like a path. There's also a lot of colorful and funny fishes placed in aquariums. She particularly like that fish that looks like a small crocodile and that cokorful fishes with exaggerated fins. She found Uinen standing in the courtyard and approached her.

"So, uh, your highness milady queen? What would we do?"
