I want to know more about baton pass!

I was trying to make a strategy with a somewhat balanced team when it hit me. If I used "skill swap" then "baton pass" will the new Pokémon in the field have the swapped ability? Example I use skill swap with Partner that knows volt absorb then change to a water type would that water type have volt absorb now?

Add: I tested this in coliseum XD apparently doesn't work in III gen but does it work in IV gen.

According to Bulbapedia, the answer is no. I haven't checked this personally, but I might try to soon.

Yeah, such ability would make that combo deadly. I changed the planned team just have to get around to breeding them.

Nope, this doesn't work. Sorry. I've tried it myself. You can pass a Power Swap though... but not Skill Swap.

Agreed, I've tried also. can't pass skill swap.
