DPPt/HGSS How does this look?

  1. I'm a bit hesitant about posting my proposed wi-fi team, as builds I like don't tend to match with everyone else's opinion. (Speaking from MMO experience.) However, I would like to know if there is anything drastically wrong with my team. I've never battled competitively before, so this is all a big theroy. Please be gentle :)

    Houndoom - Timid, Wise Glasses
    Dark Pulse
    Shadow Ball

    Venusaur - Calm, Leftovers
    Sunny Day

    Sandslash - Impish, Quick Claw
    Poison Jab

    Walrein - Modest, Chesto Berry
    Ice Beam

    Electivire - Adamant, Muscle Band
    Thunder Punch
    Fire Punch
    Ice Punch
    Thunder Wave

    Hitmontop - Impish, Focus Sash
    Close Combat
    Gyro Ball
    Quick Attack
    Bulk Up

    I think your team is good and balanced. The only think I would change is Quick Attack on Hitmontop. I would substitute any physical attack it could learn.
  3. I agree completely with you, Carmen, however there IS a disagreement.
    Perhaps Hitmontop has Quick Attack for a reason. Doesn't Hitmontop has horrid speed, or something like that? ( If he doesn't, mine always to. Dx ) Anyways, Focus Sash powers up the next move after a near KO, therefore, powering up Quick attack. It's a deadly last-hit if you think about it.

    I didn't think about that because I didn't know what the Focus Sash did. Maybe I was thinking about the Focus BAND. Furthermore, if Hitmontop has the Technician ability, Quick Attack is powered up even more. So I was wrong and I'm sorry :)

    BTW I looked up what other Hit-First attacks that Hitmontop could learn and they were Mach Punch(phys. Fighting), Vacuum Wave(sp. Fighting), and Bullet Punch(phys. Steel) but they all require breeding.
