theyve been working for a year flawlessly. But all of a sudden they’ve stopped. Is thee a troubleshoot to this?

Help! I’m not receiving email notifications.

For private conversations, try checking your Contact Details page and making sure the "Receive email when a new conversation message is received" box is ticked.
For forum threads and RPs, check your Watched Threads list here. If you tick the threads you're not getting emails for, you can choose "With selected..." at the bottom of the page, and then "Enable email notification" to turn emails back on for them.

After messing with the receive email box, untucking it and ticking several times it finally worked
