Ask to Join Fledgling Dreams, A Journey Through Hoen

Surprised by the healing power of the Pokémon Alan thanks the girl, and the Pokémon before returning Charmander to its ball and continuing to walk alongside his new friend

(Lol, wrong character, this is not BTU)
"My pleasure." Raven says.
"Chikorita, return."
"So, tell me, why did you come to Hoen?" She asks her friend wanting to know more of who she was with.

"I'm actually running away from home" the boy says with a sigh "my father ran a casino in Celadon city and so we were very well off and even though he very rarely spent time with me I was well taken care of. But recently I learned it was in deep with a band of criminals called team rocket. He wanted me to join them, so I agreed. Then ran away to Hoen"

"Hey, get that stowaway!" One of the sailors shouted, upon eyeing Angelina run from the lower decks. She had boarded the ship, without anyone knowing, during the night when it stopped in Olivine City, back home in Johto. Her parents knew she left home, this time. She told them, so they assumed she was going to buy a ticket or something to get there. It seemed old habits died hard. As she neared the edge of the boat, she glimpsed back at the three sailors chasing her. Angel smirked, before looking forward again, and she vaulted over the ship's railing, landed firmly on the ground, and dashed into Slateport City. Once she was sure that her pursuers gave up, Angel stopped to take a look around the city. The way out, to Route 110 if her memory served her right, was crowded with trainers, probably all talking. While it would have been nice to stay and socialize with the lot of them, they seemed to be taking their sweet time. Instead of staying and chatting, Angel made her way pass the trainers and into the forest.

Upon getting free of the crowd, Angel let her partner out of his Pokeball. "Sorry about that, Ares. I know you don't like staying in your Pokeball, but I was afraid something would happen." She apologized, to which Ares gave an understanding nod. "Right, let's go, then." Ares nodded, as the two set off towards Mauville City. While they were walking, Angel spotted two trainers who seemed to be talking. Angel walked towards them. "Hey! I didn't think anyone else went pass all those trainers back in Slateport."

"Hello!" Shouted the boy waving at the approaching trainer "this must be a popular route today, I've run into so many trainers I'm losing count" he laughs scratching the back of his head. "My names Kasper, and this is raven" he says gesturing to the girl beside him

"So, you're from Johto too, huh? That's neat. But, yeah, this is Ares, my partner." Angel replied, as her partner huffed out his chest, happy at currently being the center of attention. "Tar. Larvi!" Ares said. "Although he can be a mischievous little rascal, sometimes." Angel added, to which the Larvitar turned and gave her a look that practically said "Really? You're calling me a mischievous rascal?" to which Angel silently replied with a smirk. "Anyway, I went ahead of all those other trainers because they were practically packing the streets. My name's Angelina, by the way. But you can call me Angel, for short."

"Nice to meet you Angel, we were heading to Lavaridge town... Would you like to join us?" Chikorita felt the presence of a Johto Pokemon and popped out of the Pokeball.
"Oh, this is Chikorita by the way." The grass Pokemon nodded excitedly.

Calling out Charmander as the two girls were talking Kasper went back into the tall grass. Searching for another Pokémon, he want going to be the only member of his group who failed to capture a team member on this route

"Keep your eyes peeled Charmander" he said as he pressed deeper into the forest surrounding the pathway.

There was a sudden rustling in the leaves "cha--" charmander's cry was cut short as a Houndour lept from the bushes tackeling and biting the little Pokémon before taking off towards the clearing "Are you ok Charmander" Kasper asked and the little Pokémon nodded "the. Let's go get him!" Kasper scooped Charmander up off the ground and began sprinting after the Pokémon who had stopped just short of the clearing.

"Charmander!! Use Scratch" Kasper ordered as the threw Charmander through the air at a very surprised houndour. It's a direct hit and both Pokémon are sent tumbling further into the clearing. The houndour lets loose a poverty flamethrower attack that Charmander barely manages to deflect with the flame of his tail

Out of breath Kasper emerges from the woods just in time to watch the Flamethrower. Knowing ember and metal claw wouldn't cut it against this fiesty fire type Kasper commands Charmander to use a new move they've been working on "Charmander! Try your dragon rage"

The little Pokémon braces itself as a blue and yellow draconian aura surrounds it. Noticing something was going on houndour charges Charmander preparing to finish the battle with another Bite attack but Charmander steels its resolve hardening its gaze and launching the full force of its built up energy directly at houndour!

The wild Pokémon is sent flying. Hurdling through the air and crashing into a nearby tree "pokeball...g-o.." Kasper pants tossing the white and yellow pokeball at the injured Pokémon forcing itself to its feet. In a flash of red light the Pokémon is pulled inside of the ball "one...two...three...gotcha!" Kasper counts along with the rocking pokeball, joy welling up in his body as the pokeball makes its final click and comes to rest in a patch of grass beneath the tree. "We did it Charmander! You mastered dragon rage! Kasper cheered scooping up the little Pokémon and tossing him into the air "char-char!" The little Pokémon cried, despite its injuries it seemed no less ecstatic that his trainer.

Kasper lifted the pokeball from the ground, it was still warm to the touch. Returning Charmander he called out his new Pokémon houndour. Speaking softly to the Pokémon as he healed it with a potion from his bag. "You're really strong houndour, I really hope that we can be good friends"

"Woof!" The little Pokémon barked in agreement, Kasper having earned its respect during their intense battle. Giving the Pokémon one final pat Kasper returns it and walks back over to his new friends, a huge smile on his face.

Raven saw am explosion of fire from the forest and Kasper emerge with a smile.
"What's got you so giddy?" Raven asked, she then noticed a second Pokeball on his belt.
"What Pokemon did you get?" She asked with excitment.

"A houndour!" He said excitedly releasing his new Pokémon from its ball. "Houn-dour!" The Pokémon cried spitting fire from its mouth.

"Awe, I love seeing Pokemon from my home. They were the only things that kept me sane." Piper said.
"Hi bud." She said as she scratched his chin.
"Are you going to name him?" Raven asked.

"Me either. All my life I never understood why people named Pokemon." Raven looked at her Pokemon.
"So, you said that you ran away from home?" She recalled.
"How long have you been away from home?" Raven asked.
"If I may ask." She added politely.

"It's only been a couple weeks since all that happened" Kasper sighed. "I've even never had a Pokémon before, spent my whole life in school preparing to take over the family business. But after explaining everything to himmy grandfather in veridian city gave me Charmander and a boat ticket to Slateport"

"I see." Raven said.
"I moved away because I wanted a fresh start, where nobody knew me. I was given too much attention. I didn't like it, people would judge me before they knew me." She paused for a moment.
"You know those really mean pretty girls? Well everybody thought that was what I was like, here, nobody thinks that... Yet at least." Raven looked at Kasper for an opinion on what he thought of her.

Being expected to take on the family business. Angelina knew what that was like, though she didn't plan on bringing it up herself. "Wow. Must've put a lot of pressure on you while you were growing up, huh?" Then she looked towards Raven. "I hate judgmental people like that. Acting like that, they're no better than those mean pretty girls, if you ask me."

"I think it show a lot of strength to be able to sacrifice a comfortable life for what you think is right. "At least you don't have to be all alone out here" he finished. Patting her gently on the back.

"Yea, my life sucked, the only people that were 'nice' to me were boys." Raven rolled her eyes.
"Thanks guys." She thanked her friends for their support.
"Sableye come out!" She sent her Pokemon out to stretch their legs.

"It looks like we're almost to the city" Kasper exclaimed as the buildings, once silhouettes were now looming above them and the dirt road became cobbled streets.
The city is bustling with people, it reminded Kasper of Celadon city. Crowded streets, shops, cars and even a casino.

"The Hoenn Region is so busy" Kasper said to his companions "what should we do first?"

"Casino's usually have nice restaurants." Kasper explained pointing towards the neon lights of the casino building, still lit brightly in the daytime.

"Sounds good." Raven headed towards the bright lights.
"Sableye, Chikorita, return!" A beam of light flashed and the Pokemon vanished into their capsules.
"Let's go." She gestured to lead the way.

"Is it even legal for us to go in to a casino, though?" Angel inquired. "Last I checked, we were minors. I mean, I could say that I was an adult, but we need ID. And, that's something we don't have." She pointed out. "There'll probably be other restaurants around Mauville City, though."

"Only one way to find out" Kasper laughed starting off towards the Casino. "I might be able to get us in if I mention my father, and if not we could knock them out with our Pokémon and sneak in" he says with devilish grin

"Wait!" Raven grabbed Kasper's shirt and pulled him back.
"If you ran away, don't you think People would be looking for you?" She asked.
"I think I have a better idea." Raven walked up to the Bouncer and whispered something in his ear, he moved out of the way and walkie talkied the other guards telling them to disregard the three friends.
"We're in!" She said.

Angel shrugged. "Don't hear me complai-" Angel stopped, as she heard a rustling in the bushes. Her eyes darted over to the noise, and she saw a light grey tail swishing about in the grass. "You guys go on ahead without me. I'll catch up." She said, a smirk beginning to form on her face. Her hand quickly darted to her belt, as she took out a Pokeball, a Fast Ball, to be specific. She had several of those, and a few other rare pokeballs. Gift from her father, made by an acquaintance of his. Something with a K? Either way, Angel gave a glance to her partner, who returned it with a nod. Ares kicked up a bit of dust, to get the Pokemon's attention. The small, canine Pokemon looked in their direction, a snarl on it's face. "A Poochyena? This'll be interesting."

" The restaurants are usually on the ground levels " Kasper says looking around the area and wondering what exactly Raven had said to the guard "it was pretty cool of you to get us in here" Kasper said into raven's ear as they turned the corner, finding the restaurant Le Magikarp, a restaurant featuring food from the Kaled Region. It was set up buffet style and quite empty, the trio had no trouble finding a table

"Really? I do that all the time! I tell them that I have an 'emergency' if you know what I mean." Raven snickered.
"Girls have that advantage over guys." She smiled as she got a plate to get food.

Piling a bowl high with ice cream macaroons, sprinkles and fruit Kasper returned to the table obviously quite content with himself. He released his two Pokémon. Houndour under the table and Charmander in his lap. He gave them both the Shhhh sign with his finger pressed to his mouth before proceeding to tear into is incredibly unhealthy meal. Allowing Charmander to eat his fill the little Pokémon sighed at tapped out soon returning itself to its pokeball. Houndour was quite content with the occasional macaroon being fed to him underneath the table.

While her companions had moved on, Angel and Ares were staring down the Poochyena. The Poochyena attacked first, charging Ares with a Bite attack. "Jump, and use Stone Edge!" Angel called, to which Ares complied. Ares leapt into the air, and landed behind the Poochyena. As Ares landed, he slammed his fist into the ground, sending jutting stones at the Poochyena. Poochyena was struck, and was sent flying back. The canine Pokemon quickly regained it's balance, and charged, this time, it's fangs taking on an icy-blue glow.

"Dark Pulse!" Angel called. Ares, following his trainer's wish, unleashed a Dark Pulse attack on the Poochyena, sending it skidding back. She didn't bother using the phrase so many trainers seemed fond of, she just threw the Fast Ball. It dematerialized the Poochyena, and began to shake. Once... Twice... Thrice... Click! And it was caught. Angel went over to the Fast Ball and picked it up, letting the Poochyena out. She healed it with a potion, before crouching down and staring at it, eye-level. "Hey, Poochyena. Would you like to come with me on a journey?" She asked. The Poochyena closed it's eyes, obviously pondering the decision. After a moment, it opened it's eyes again and nodded. "Great! So, before we head off, a quick question. Guy?" The Poochyena nodded. "Alright, then how does the name Ajax sound?" The Poochyena smiled, seemingly fond of the name. "Alright then, Ajax. Let's head off to that casino."

Angel was surprised that the bouncer let her in, but she didn't complain. Said her friend had an "emergency." She didn't question it. Upon looking around, she realized the place was mostly empty. It didn't take her long to spot her companions. "The bouncer told me what you said. Smart." She complimented, as she walked past them to get her food. Three steaks and a large bowl of mashed potatoes and gravy. She sat down at the table, before she asked: "Did I miss anything?"

Raven smiled at Angel.
"Thanks." Raven grabbed multiple pastries and chocolates.
"And you didn't miss anything." She replied.
"Oh my god, I love food!" Raven's eyes animated when she saw the chocolate fountain.

"I don't think so" Kasper said between bites of his sugary concoction. "My family's chef at home would always make me food I didn't like" the boy said sticking his tongue out," so this is great!"

Raven almost choked on her food.
"I can't imagine you as a rich kid, well at least not the snobby kind." She retorted at Kasper's statement.
"So where are we going to crash for the night?" Raven asked as she looked out the window as the sunset, making her face glow.

"My fathers casino is even nicer than this one" Kasper explained. "Of course a now know his success wasn't earned honestly" Kasper sighed thinking of the life had given up just a few short weeks "Pokémon centers usually rent rooms to traveling groups of trainers" he suggested shaking the thoughts of self pity out of his head.

"Pokemon centers provide places for trainers to sleep, don't they?" Angel asked, as she began to tear into her third steak, now. "Considering we went ahead of those trainers in Slateport, there'll probably be space in the Center here. Unless, of course, they started moving while we're eating now." She added, her mouth full of food, as she moved on to her potatoes.

"Okay, so after we eat, we will go to... hmm, excuse me, do you know where the nearest Pokemon Center is?" She asked a bar tender.
"The nearest one would be in PetalBurg." He replied .
"Thank you, so we can move over into Petalburg, it shouldn't much of a walk." Raven said with a smile.

Noting that that was a bit of of his way Kasper came up with a second suggestion. "We could always camp" he offered. "It was a really nice day, so hopefully we have a warm night ahead of us!"

"That sounds fun!" Raven exclaimed.
"Okay, so I saw a shop on the way in here that sells tents and sleeping bags." Raven said
"Okay, I am stuffed." She said pushing her 4th plate of sweets away.
"Tomorrow we are running 3 miles." She said as she looked at her Pokemon.

After successfully finishing another bowl of ice cream and assorted pastries Kasper releases a very satisfied sigh. "We don't have to worry too much about supplies, I bought most of the camping equipment we might need before I left Kanto" Kasper grinned "it's all quite collapsible and lightweight"
