(slight warning! it’s 18+ for a reason)
19 year old Lacy Park found herself staring deeply at her reflection in the wide window that occupied the bathroom wall of her apartment. Her expression was stony and cold, but her eyes were filled with disbelief as she studied her features. Pale, grey eyes, shoulder-length, dirty blonde hair, and a thin frame. Hundreds of thoughts raced through her mind as she hung her head low. After a few moments of non-coherent muttering, she whipped around and exited the small restroom. Stepping into her little bedroom, she opened her closet door and grabbed a random jacket to wear over her blank, white tee. The coat was a navy blue windbreaker, with a white collar and fastened elastic around the wrists. Lacy threw it on, and grabbed her backpack from her bed, slinging it on. It sagged slightly with the weight of a few textbooks, and, of course, her five Pokeballs.

The student exited her bedroom with a sigh, and stepped into her yellow sneakers. She bent down and rolled the ankle cuffs of her grey, skinny jeans, to just above the tongue of her shoes. With her fingers, she made sure her hair was untangled, and head out the apartment door, locking it behind her. It was 6:38 AM in Seoul, where Lacy had lived most of her life. She attended White Ridge College, which wasn't easy to get accepted to. Lacy picked up her pace on the sidewalk, beginning to hustle to the bus stop. It had taken her a few minutes to arrive just on time, and she stepped into the bus, seating herself near the front. Her gaze traveled to the window, where the occasional person walking their Pokemon would pass.

She sighed, and bit her lip. There is no way you can start liking him. Do you really want to ruin your friendship with him? Lacy scolded herself inwardly. However, she just couldn't help her feelings. The bus came to a halt, eventually. The girl quickly stepped off, and stood before the college. It was rather large, and made with brick and other materials.

Seeing as she'd purposely arrive early, Lacy stood near the bench that she'd wait by every day. She would wait there for her best friend, who often came a couple of minutes after herself. The young adult smiled at the thought of her childhood friend, but dropped it after a couple of seconds. Lacy looked up at the sky, which was littered full of grey clouds. Flying and chattering about were bird Pokemon that chased each other. Several familiar students passed each the waiting girl, eyeing her and muttering, "Oh, she waits for him every day," or, "She's totally got it for him." However, Lacy would grit her teeth and ignore the sayings. She made a promise to wait everyday, and was not about to lose it over passersby.

Santana with the drool that slowly streamed down his mouth, snored softly into his pillow. He was dreamt of his climb to the top of the regions Pokemon league, his Pokemon were finally recognized for how strong he was, how strong he was. A small smile cocked on his face as he tossed and turned; the pillow that caressed his head slowly became a body pillow between his arms and legs. The cheers that echoed in his head were slowly over powered by the rage of violent beeps from his alarm. his eyes, the colour of Eevee's fur soaked in the bright light that shined between the blades of his window. Santana picked himself up slowly, and held his arms up wide and strong in the air and stretched. He could feel the stretching of his muscles loosen up from yesterdays vigorous training with his Pokemon.

The boy lifted his feet off the bed and onto the floor, he followed up with a hand stand into a couple reps of push ups before the morning day. 6:00am; Ant had peered over to the clock which had gone off about thirty minutes ago. His heart raced and his face became slightly pale at the sight of the time. "Oh sh*t I'm going to be late.. Lacy is gonna be so mad at me!!" he said as he toppled over onto his back in a panic. He quickly sprung up and headed into the bathroom, throwing his cloths in every direction only to have them coincidently fall right into his dirty cloths hamper. Moments before he got in the shower, Ant's Pokemon were steady asleep in the living room, each one of the 5 occupying a space. Rai; Raichu had taken ownership of the circular coach that had a pull out arm rest that looks almost like a bed. Sen; His shiny Arbok curled up right next to Ant's door; Sen adores Ant very much and his almost over protective with him when it came to other people, everyone except Lacy.. he was in love with Lacy. Serene; A female Chandelure that likes to be mischievous, had taken her spot as a candle in the middle of her trainer's round table. Nimbus; Altaria, took her place outside on Ant's balcony. The flying type was a little to big to actually be in the house so every night as Ant returned home he would let Nimbus out to relax with the breeze. Leaf; Bulbasaur had already been awake and had stared deeply at Ant's door. He was a recent addition to Ant's team and has become very attached to his trainer. Once Ant had fell on his back the sudden hard thud on the floor woke all of them up except Nimbus who had been asleep outside.

Ant let the water rain down on him, the water ran down his athletic fighter body. Each bead of water traveled between the cracks and ridges of his toned upper chest and disappeared as they got lower into the smoke from the steam. His eyes were closed and he cocked a little smile when old memories of his best friend popped into his mind. "It's been an interesting summer but we finally can see each other again" he said to himself. Ant hadn't seem Lacy all summer he had been away in another country, where he met Bulbasaur and couldn't wait to introduce the little guy to his friend. The water soaked into Ant's hair, which caused each of his dark honey brown braids to come undone and his curly undercut hair to bounce and unwind for the first time since the start of the summer. He pouted and ran his hands through it, he forgot how soft his hair was, but suddenly stopped at the thought of his dad teasing him about it. "stupid old man.." he thought. Ant quickly got out the shower about fifteen minutes had went by as he had showered and he still had to get dress and rush to the spot, he also didn't have time to braid his hair and hoped that Lucy could do it for him. "Quickly! have to get ready" he shouted, "f*ck f*ck f*ck" as he searched for his pants and shirt and belt. Ant searched hard in his closet, picked out his jet black jeans that had zips for pockets, his white o-neck shirt that had a thunder bolt patch on the sleeve of it and a new rope belt he received from his mother that draped next to his old rope belt he had since he was a kid that he received from Bruno long ago and his black boots. Each one of his Pokeballs for his Pokemon were laid out on his dresser drawer he grabbed each one and opened the door to his room. Leaf quickly rushed over to him and hoped up, Ant flinched backwards but caught the little guy in his arms, the warm soft cheek of Leaf rubbed up against Ant's chin which caused him to chuckle a little. "Ah leaf quit it that tickles!" he said. Serene, Rai and Sen gladly made their way towards Ant which he smiled and called each one of them back into their balls, except Nimbus. He made his way to the door of the balcony and lightly stroked the top of the Altaria's head which woke him up easy. Nimbus leaned in and purred against his trainers hand, a light blush appeared on his cheek. "Nim I need your help, ready for a ride buddy?" he asked the flying type. The Pokemon nodded and proceeded to flap his wings and fell off the ledge, he turned around and nodded which gave Ant the signal to hop on. Ant smirked and hopped over the rail and landed on the Pokemon's back, his sudden weight drop slightly shifted Nimbus but he quickly regained his strength. Ant stroked the back of Nim and was about to take off when the lady from across the apartment poked his head out the window and wave good morning at Ant.
"Off to first day of classes Ant??" she said.
"Yes Mrs. O'nani! thank you for those breads last night! can you give your husbands my regards" Ant replied.
"No problem dear you work hard and barely eat when your working at the shop! have a great day tell Lacy good morning for me!" she said
Ant nodded and waved goodbye at the elderly woman before he took off with Nimbus.

6:55,
Ant and Nimbus were above the school. It was huge, bigger then what he remembered he watched as buses from every direction of the school stopped and let students off before heading back to their original paths. Everything from above looked so small to him, but he searched high and low for him and Lucy's meeting spot. He smiled when he found it, with the addition of Lucy's figure there as well. "Alright Nimbus over there" he commanded and the clouded dragon type made his way lower to the pointed area. "LACY! HEEYY!" he shouted, he waved his arm high in the sky and gave her a hard smile that he himself could not help at all, it was only natural when he saw her. Nimbus hovered safely off the floor, enough that Ant could jump down. Ant rubbed his Pokemon's head and thanked it properly for the safe travel. Nimbus made his way to Lacy and rubbed his cheek against hers, the soft blush on the Pokemon's cheek means he missed her a lot since the vacation. Ant chuckled to himself and crossed his arms as he watched. His curly brown hair was still lightly damp and covered part of his left eye which gave him a cool mysterious look since he wasn't a out going guy unless around his friends. He was sure Lacy would ask about his hair not being in braids, which he will take the advantage to ask her if she could braid them back for him.

The orientation bell rang, Ant called Nimbus back to his ball. The bright red light attracted some of the new trainers and students that had gathered in the court yard before the toll of the bell. Ant smiled hard as he looked down at her slightly cold but warm gaze. "Haha hey why that face, I made it ontime right??" he said, Ant put his arm around her neck and pulled her in. His new showered body and relaxed scent wafted by her nose. He rubbed his cheek against her as well; she should be use to Ant's form of greetings with her by now and he could old laugh cause he knew how flustered she get when he does it because she wasn't use to too much touch. "Ready for orientations? show them great of a trainer you are today!" he said.

Lacy watched with a straight face as Ant came speeding down on his familiar Pokémon, Nimbus. “Tch...” the girl mumbled as he slid off his companion. However, she smiled as Nimbus came barreling towards her, happily trilling. Lacy giggled as the fluffy dragon nuzzled her cheek. “Hey, I missed you, too,” she hummed, scratching the chin of the Pokémon. When Nimbus returned, the smile faded slightly, but stayed on her face. “Haha, hey! Why that face? I made it on time, right?” The boy before her grinned. “Yeah, yeah. Actually, you’re - gah!” she was cut off by the sudden throw of Ant’s arm around her shoulder, and his face pressed against hers. “Ready for orientations? Show them how great of a trainer you are today!” Once again, he cheerfully spoke to her. Awkwardly, she pushed against his chest, shoving him off of her. Her heart was pounding furiously as she brushed off her jacket, a cold expression on her face. His scent lingered near her, sending a chill down her spine. Lacy let out a breath of air from her mouth.

It was funny really. Lacy was such a quiet, kind of intimidating girl, and she was best friends with a rather cheerful young man. Of course, he was almost always cheerful around her. Lacy stared at Ant before her, expression a bit aloof. She nudged her head in the direction of the building’s entrance, turning around, to signal that they needed to hurry up to orientation. He and Lacy walked down the stone path, right up to the entrance. “So, how’s working at that little shop? I’ve heard that you’re a real klutz,” she teased, turning up her nose. Lacy pushed the big door open, entering the building. She turned to the left down the hall, leading the other half of the duo as they went.

Lacy stared at the ground in front of her, heart still wildly racing. She had no clue how she’d survive this year, especially if the pair was taking most of the same classes. He, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to the feeling that Lacy held for him, which made it all the more difficult. She gripped her backpack’s straps tightly, wondering to herself. She was interrupted however, by somebody bumping into her, seemingly in a hurry. She whipped her head up at the person who did so. Lacy found herself staring up at a tall male with short, dark hair, that was messily sticking up. “Ah, sorry! I’m in a hurry...” he apologized, watching Lacy for a few more seconds before turning around and sprinting down the hall.

Yeesh, he could’ve been more careful. Although, he did apologize... she thought, continuing to walk ahead. Lacy glanced at Ant, spotting that his curly hair wasn’t in its usual several braids. “Hey, what’s that about?” she said, squinting at his hair. That was quite unusual for the male, and Lacy hadn’t seen him like this very many times. He didn’t look bad, however. Not to her, at least. Ah, shit. Stop thinking like that! Lacy mentally hissed once more.

Ant blinked when Lacy pushed him away, he stared at her then laughed a little to himself. She did it every once in a while but it's become more frequent, which confused him a little but he brushed it off. Her cold expression was very cute to him, he really see's right through Lacy often, she's not as mean as she puts out to be. He studied her as she brushed her coat off, fond memories of them as kids having battles and training together, they became close. Lacy you really have became strong, someone is going to take you away from me one day.. He said in his head, Ant's expression dropped a little from happy to a little cold but before she could notice back to happy again.

Lacy and Ant made their way to the building, they talked and shared stories. Ant noticed she had been acting estranged for a few minutes but in his eyes it was probably just her being her. He smiled when she asked him about the shop and chuckled a little when she said he was a klutz. He rubbed the back of his neck slightly and a bead of sweat went down the side of his temple, he nervous chuckled. "Well actually yea.. kinda caused some trouble a couple days ago" he said. "But Mr and Mrs O'nani are really nice couple, the job is good and Rai really loves playing with their grandson" he pulled up a confident face. "speaking of Pokemon I have someone for you to me-" as he was interrupted by the young boy that bumped into Lacy. He watched as she whipped her body around to glare the boy down, but he already had apologized to her before hand. Ant smiled, and realized that Lacy really has grown since they were kids, and more as a woman too. He blinked and thought to himself why he was thinking that way and shrugged it off quick.

Ant and Lacy made their way to the auditorium, he looked around and noticed no one was in the hall so that means everyone was here and they were probably late, and probably are gonna get some looks since they had returned. Ant was top trainer in their college, also leader in the breeding department of the school, Lacy.. well Lacy was top in everything else and his equal in training as well. Before they had left on break the Dean had asked Lacy to show off the skills of the College and asked her to perform a battle with anyone of her choice during the Orientations. Ant opened the door slow to the room, to not draw to much attention to them. As he opened the door they met the gaze of everyone in the room. Ant's happy expressed quickly changed to shyness and he sort of stood there for a little up like a Shellder. The Dean was at the front on a stage, rows upon rows from every direction of people filled the room.

While eyes began to shift towards the duo, Lacy simply scanned over them all, with the typical quiet expression. She noted two open seats - right on the end in a further back row. Lacy shrugged towards it, leading Ant into the row and seating herself. As Ant sat beside her, she was careful not to make eye contact with him, and instead half-heartedly listened to what the Dean was saying. She gazed off into nowhere, but as her vision began to focus, she realized she was staring right at the male who had bumped into her. And he was staring right back. He, obviously, noticed and turned his head quickly back to the Dean. Um... what’s his problem? she wondered, slightly confused. She brushed it off, however, and stared down at her sneakers for most of the time.

The Dean went on and on about how White Ridge was an excellent school for trainers, and how all the classes were wonderful to take. Lacey knew the whole story, so she merely listened. What grabbed her attention was him finally ending the speech, and the auditorium clapping. Students began to file out, and as Lacey stood up, she was tapped on the shoulder. She turned around, seeing a girl a bit taller than her. “Can I help you?” Lacey asked, raising an eyebrow.

You’re Lacey Park, correct? I’ve heard that you’re the real deal at this school. So, I’ve come to challenge you to a battle,” she said, a serious expression on her face. Lacey returned an unnervingly calm one. “Sure,” she said, and stepped past Ant, out of the row. She glanced back at him once before following the girl back outside, where the battle would take place. “What’s your name?” Lacey asked the girl boredly. The other young lady scoffed. “Erika Watts. Freshman,” was the response. Lacy replied with a “hm,” and found herself outside, across from Erika with a blank expression. “We’ll use three Pokémon. You know the rest,” Lacy said, confidence strained through her voice. Erika nodded, and grabbed a Pokéball from her belt. She tossed it out, and an Aipom bounced out. It let out its cry as Lacy took off her backpack and reached in it. She fiddled aboutfor a second before picking a certain one and throwing it up. From it came a Lucario, who was just as stony as Lacy. To make a long story short, Lacy swept Aipom with a few Power-up Punches. The same occurred with the second round - Erika angrily sent out a Samurott, and Lacy easily defeated it with an array of grass moves from her Meganium. The third round wasn’t as simple, but didn’t take much effort.

Erika, at that point, was fuming as she she violently chucked her last Pokéball out. Growling wildly, a Zoroark burst out, dangerously flicking its tail. Lacy yawned and sent out her Scizor, who was hungry for a good fight. A small crowd had gathered by then, and Erika had little to no supporters. Scizor charged straight away at the Zoroark, causing major damage with X-Scissor. The battle took a few twists and turns, but in the end, Scizor finished the blow with Fury Cutter. Zoroark crumpled to the ground, and Lacy returned her Scizor calmly. “Good battle. I thoroughly enjoyed winning,” Lacy nodded once to Erika, who clenched her fists and groaned aloud. She stormed off with her fainted Pokémon while a few people clapped for Lacy, who gave a thumbs-up instead of actually thanking anybody. She did her best to seem as serious as possible, even if her best friend could see right through it.

Ant followed Lacy to the seats, students still with their hard stares at the two advanced second years. His eyes danced around the room, he had become antsy, so many strong looking trainers and Pokemon, his excitement over came his ability to concentrate on the dean. As his eyes glanced from one trainer to another Ant caught the eyes of the boy from before who had bumped into Lacy in the hall, he followed his gaze and it landed back on Lacy. The boy quickly turned his head around once Lacy met his gaze, Ant couldn't help but laugh to himself. It seemed that someone had a crush on his best friend. The thought of Lacy actually finding someone other them him gave Ant a new feeling of uneasiness but, he quickly brushed it off because he would be happy with anything Lacy chose to do. He changed his attention back to the Dean, but with all of his absent mindedness he completely missed the whole lecture.

As both trainers got up to leave, a young; maybe a couple of years younger tapped on the shoulder of Lacy. Ant stood there with his arms crossed he listened in on the conversation, You’re Lacey Park, correct? I’ve heard that you’re the real deal at this school. So, I’ve come to challenge you to a battle, she said towards Lacy. His best friend seemed cool and uninterested but deep down she seemed a little excited someone had the nerve to actually challenge her besides him. Santana held a smile on his face and followed the young ladies to the back of the stage and outside. He stood as the ref for their battle. "Trainer Lacy accepts New girls challenge, Begin!" The battles were swift and decisive, Ant watched as Lacy slowly became disappointed in the battle since she's always been interested in tough trainers. No one could tell but him he guessed, slowly trainers saw the battle and made their way to the outside battle area, more and more slowly they came till it almost looked like the orientation room again. Ant's nervousness dispersed slowly the more he studied and got into the battle. Already round three another one of the girl's Pokemon went down. "Lacy you're Pokemon are looking good!" his eyes gleamed with excitement to see Meganium, her coat looked healthy and she seemed excited to be out and battling again. Ant watched as the last Pokemon on Erika's team goes down and soon after she stormed off before the boy could ask any questions. He sighed and looked over at Lacy she received a round of applause and cheering for her easy victory. Ant softened for his friend, he knew how great she was and wanted everyone to see. Ant walked over to her and placed his hand on her head, he could feel the soft coarse hair in his fingers as he ran them into it softly stroking her scalp, it was one of her guilty pleasures, at-least only when Ant did it anyway. "Are you done being a show off, can we go so I can get my schedule and show you my surprised huh, Miss #1" he chuckled, but immediately stopped. "Oh right.. Lacy.. can you.. ah braid my hair back.. I don't want to walk around like this all day" he said with a blush on his face cause he hates asking for help when it comes to his hair.

Ant begun to make his way towards the recept hall, the area in which is always crowded during the first week of new classes. The intense sound of chattered filled the halls atmosphere all at once. All students from first to fourth crowded in groups; some reunited after a long summer, some that shared interest in a similar Pokemon. Ant didn't like closed spaces very much, his face became unsettled and annoyed as he looked for ways while he dodged people towards the line for his schedule. He realized him and Lacy wouldn't be in the same line so he'd just meet up with her after. He heard a large soft but squeaky crowd of females over in the distance. The ground had been huddled up against a door and what seemed they had surrounded a poor trainer. "seems like someone famous has made their way to our school in Seoul Lacy" he said to her as he looked down at her. "Want to go check it out?" he said with a little adventurous tone in his voice. Ant knew Lacy didn't really care for fan girls or famous people, but when Ant was around she sometimes held her tongue for him which he rarely took advantage of cause he doesn't like to push Lacy at all. He shrugged it off and patted her should 'never mind we can find out later, like tomorrow, let's get in our lines before they get longer and we end up being the last ones again cause of me" he said with a little dishearten tone. Back in the past Ant always had him and Lacy late to things which he knew irritated her a lot when they ended up being last for something or didn't get to do something, but he always tried to make up for it and put a smile on her face.

Ant made his way into the line, it was long. The boy in front of him had a dusty oder that filled his nose and caused him to sneeze here and there. "ugh.. musty mans" he said to himself in a low voice. The guy, even though he said he lowly over heard Ant's comment and glared back at him. Ant had a bead of sweat drop from his head and held his hands out in apology to the young trainer. Not someone I want to mess with.. He said to himself but in his head this time. Ant's gazed followed around the room. There were Pokemon from every region, with Pokemon trainers of every type and natures. Ant's ambition in life was to become a Pokemon Professor like his mother, a scientist of Pokemon natures but he also had another one, to become a stronger Pokemon champion than his father. Ant's mind wondered to his mother and father. Whether professor Kukui was treating his mother good and if his father was okay. Also if his close friend Guzma hadn't got into anymore trouble from the last visit to Alolan. He closed his eyes and held his arms tight against his chest, he hadn't realized that he had been flexing his muscles a little so deep in concentration and meditation to occupy the time in the line, he felt a couple of eyes had taken comfort in him.

Lacy bit her cheek, forcing down a shudder as Ant played with her hair. In public, not to mention. She wasn’t about to show that she thoroughly enjoyed the feeling in front of a bunch of strangers. She ducked away, stiffly stepping back. “Oh, right.. Lacy.. can you, ah, braid my hair back? I don’t want to walk around like this all day,” her friend requested, a bit sheepishly. Lacy glanced sideways, avoiding staring into his eyes. “Ah, yeah. Just tell me when to start,” she said, following him to receive their schedules. A clutter of kids crowded the entrance, to Lacy’s dismay. At one point, Ant asked her if she wanted to investigate, to which she uncomfortably looked around, and he seemed to understand the memo. She let out a breath of relief as they split up into the lines.

After a few moments that consisted of Pokémon running around people’s feet, Lacy finally received her schedule for the year. She stepped out of the line, near a vending machine, and began scanning the slip of paper in her hands. Some classes were recognizable to her, but others she was a bit unfamiliar with. In the middle of examining said paper, she heard a ‘clunk’ beside her. Briefly, she snapped her gaze at the creator of the noise - none other than the reoccurring male, who had just purchased a bottle of water. He bent down and picked it up, then stood up straight and slowly looked towards Lacy, who had a slightly bewildered expression.

Oh, we meet again! My name is Saio,” he spoke casually. He peered over at the schedule Lacy held. “Oh, no way! We’ve all the same classes!” Lacy blinked twice. “R...really? What a coincidence...?" she replied, a bit unsure what to even say. Saio smiled down at her. “Lacy, right? Well, I’ll see ya then,” he said, twisting the cap of his water open. And with that, he smiled once more and made his departure out of the building, leaving a somewhat confused Lacy behind. She stood alone for a moment before blinking once more and snapping out of her little daze. The girl then glanced around, checking if Ant had gotten his schedule.

After several minutes of people crowding the lines, Lacy forced herself through to the line Ant had been in, and caught his gaze. He received his schedule as well, and the pair managed to slip outside, where it was much, much less cluttered. “What classes do you have?" Lacy asked, staring down at the paper he held. A bit unfortunately, she found that they shared most of their classes, but not all of them. “Hm. Hey, did you want me to braid your hair now?” she quickly glanced at him before looking down at her schedule once more. She hated the way her heart fluttered around as she stood next to him, and did everything in her power to keep a cool and collected expression on her face.

Ant watched idly while the line slowly moved, his mind wandered off to all the battles he's gonna have this semester. He's kinda happy that no one actually had come up to him yet. Around the campus he's know as the drifter in battle. Ant's fighting style with his Pokemon was different and not very common, which made him a very strong opponent to battle and almost undefeated; with the except of him and Lacy going back and forth in wins and victories. He smiled to himself at the fact his best friend is also his biggest rival, the thought of Lacy's smiling during battle just got him more excited to battle her again, sometimes he feels like she gets annoyed by him because he was so comfortable around her. maybe I need to change how I act around her.. he thought to himself.

Ant made it to the front of the line. "Santana Symeon, second year. Rank 1" he said to the aid. The Aid nodded, her soft blush on her cheeks as she looked up at Ant's face, then his hair. "Aww you're a cutie!" she said out loud, Ant's face became flustered and he bowed to her. "P-Please ma'am, thank you for your kind words" he replied quickly to not draw any attention to himself. The older woman chuckled and handed him his schedule she smiled hard at him and lowered her eyes, "Do great this semester I'll be cheering you on, okay?" she said softly. Ant smiled back at her, her kinder words gave his chest a warm comforting feeling, as if he was talking to his mother in person. "Right, Thank you. Have a great day" he answered back to her. Ant turned to walk away, but saw as Lacy made her way through the crowd to get to him. He forgot she was sorta small, and it was cute watching her make her way through slightly more toned people. She looked up at him, their eyes gazed at each other for a bit before she pulled him outside away from the cluttered area. Ant and Lacy made their way to their usual bench spot for lunch after gym. The young trainer threw himself back against the bench and took the deepest of breaths. "What classes do you have?" asked Lacy. Ant watched as his friend sat next to him, he sat up slightly and showed her his schedule, her faced turned a little disappointed because they shared maybe three classes out of the five. "It's okay that means I gotta make extra trips to see you before class and I'm fine with that" he replied to him. Lacy looked at him, then looked down quickly; Ant noticed he felt his smile slowly stiffen out a little because she seemed bothered by him again. It got quiet between them for a couple of seconds before Lacy asked him if he wanted to get his hair braided now. Ant's cheeks lightened up and he nodded, "Yes please! this curly mess is annoying me" he chuckled. Ant made his way to the floor and between Lacy's knees so she could have better reach.

"Oh yea! we should let the Pokemon out to enjoy the little spot in front of us? they've been cooked up most of the day, I'm sure they want lunch. I even have the food for your Pokemon ready." he said. Ant sat back up and took out his five Poke balls, "Come on out guys" he said with a smile before he tossed them up. The flash of light together caught the attention of some trainers and a couple of them that had been huddled up against the window inside the building. From the balls came Ant's team: Rai, Raichu: Sen, Shiny Arbok: Serene, Chandelure: Nimbus, Altaria and Leaf, Bulbasaur. They came out with smiles on their face, Leaf quickly rushed over Ant and into his arms. Ant smiled and stroked the plant Pokemon's head softly. "Oh yea.. Lacy meet Leaf, he came to my team over the break and I wanted him to meet you" he said as he turned around and held Leaf in his arms. Leaf's eyes sparkled up when he saw Lacy, he let out the cutest cue and a super happy smile to the trainer female.

Sen's eyes filled with hearts as he gazed onto Lacy, the snake Pokemon quickly rushed over to her slightly pushing Ant and Leaf to the side. He rubbed his head under Lacy's cheek his cheeks super red and his attitude changing to one of a love struck boy. Ant picked him and Leaf up, his face full of dirty and himself slightly annoyed. "Damnit Sen.." he said as he brushed off Leaf lightly and smiled down at the baby Pokemon. Ant looked over at Lacy and chuckled as Sen cuddled up to her, he awaited to see Lacy's Pokemon. He was always excited to see them, seconds after made his way back between Lacy's knees as Bulbasaur got comfortable in Ant's lap.

Lacy, sort of grudgingly, allowed Ant the lean against her legs. As he let his team out, she smiled softly, recognizing most of the Pokémon. She especially smiled when Sen came speeding towards her, lovingly nuzzling her. Lacy laughed lightly, rubbing the snake’s forehead her her palm. After he was scolded, she reached over into her bag, pulling out her five Pokéballs. One by one, she opened each one, and each Pokémon came out of their selected ball.

First, Xyler, her Lucario. He immediately turned to look at Ant, and nodded once at the trainer he’d known for so long. Second, Autumn, her Meganium. She trilled at the sight of Ant, and quickly sat down right next to him. Third, Min, the Scizor. Min was typically quiet and intimidating, and didn’t change her demeanor at all. Instead she clicked her claws once before quickly turning away. Fourth, Mango, her Passimian. She was a rather energetic Pokémon, and was fairly new to Lacy’s team, so she quickly went to investigate Ant with a spring in her step. Finally, there was Voodoo, her Banette. She was a, surprisingly, friendly Pokémon - out of battle. In battle, she was lethal. Voodoo tilted her head to the side, sitting against Lacy, opposite to Sen.

As Ant relaxed once more on her legs, Lacy inwardly took a deep breath. Then, she began gathering his hair from his face. Her hands were fairly cold, and were kept neat and clean. Starting at the front, Lacy began pulling his hair back and twisting it into braids gently. Several people walking by offered confused and odd glances at them, but Lacy did her best to ignore them. The entire process didn’t take too long. Autumn had fallen asleep against Ant, and Mango lost interest pretty quickly. Lacy let her hands fall into her lap as she finished, then playfully rubbing the Ekans beside her once more. “Tell me if it’s too loose, too tight, whatever,” Lacy said to the boy. She watched the back of his head for a few moments before pulling her phone out.

She started browsing on social media, quickly skimming through posts and occasionally liking them. When she got bored, which didn’t take very long, she audibly sighed. “What’d you do all summer? Met anyone new?” she found herself asking Ant. Lacy rested her chin on her hand, glancing sideways at cars and busses passing by. This is no good... she told herself inwardly. There’s no way I’ll be able to keep this up all year. Her chest ached, and her head was pounding throughout it all. What made it worse for her was that they were so close, so she couldn’t afford to ruin the relationship. Mentally, she groaned with frustration.

While Lacy had braided Ant's hair, Ant sat there slightly nodding off. He was completely oblivious to the other trainers; students that passed by with their confused stares and glares. He had leaned his head on Lacy's inner thigh as he nodded in and out, he scratched at Leaf and Autumns' head. With time Lacy finished with his hair, she relaxed her hands on her lap and took a deep breather when she did. "Tell me if it's too loose, too night, whatever" she told him. Ant woke up and leaned forward, stretched for a little and felt his head. It wasn't tight and it wasn't loose he could feel his scalp well as the breeze kneaded threw the lined boxes of hair. He looked back at her with a smile, but she had already picked up her phone to flip through her social media. Ant stood up and brushed off his legs and knees and shirt from the dirt. He had placed leaf on the bench right next to Sen, making sure he didn't wake up young child. "What'd you do all summer? Met anyone new? she asked him. Ant cocked his head to the side and held his chin. "I.. stayed with my dad in Kanto" he said softly. Ant's face cringed ever so slightly from the memory of summer vacation with his father, Ex- Elite Four Champion Lance.

Ant memory of his father, as he arrived in Kanto was nothing but unpleasant.

The plain hovered off slightly off the ground, as it came to a slow but steady stop. The turbines that had spun in tense circular motions to keep the plane aloft, softly came to a safe stop. Ant had his head rested on the open pod window of the plain. They kept it cold, so he remembered to pack his hoodie to sleep in since it was a days flight. His head had been pounding because he slept heavy against the warm vented window. Passengers please make sure all of your belongs are with you as you depart from the plain, thank you for traveling AirTran, please fly with us again soon! said the man over the intercom. Santana had stood up, but because of his height he had to duck down until he was able to leave from his position. "I wonder if dad came to pick me up.."he said as he looked down at his phone at the last message he sent his father before he left Korea. As he left the plane, the boy clutched his bag tightly against his back. He knew how crowded summer flights get so he had to prepare himself for the worst as he left out of the terminal. "Excuse miss!"he shouted as he rushed towards a worker. The female became startled as Ant's slightly deep voice traveled towards her. "Yes! Hello!" she replied. Ant's face was full of confusion when he noticed her face seemed a little bit startled. "Oh I'm sorry did I startle you.. I just wanted to know where the pick up area is?" he asked. She took a deep breath and smiled at him sweetly, "Oh of course, no problem it's not your fault I get startled easily" she said, "it's that way to the right and down the escalator you can't miss it" Ant nodded and thanked the young woman, he paced walked his way to the escalator where he was accompanied by a couple and their new born child. Ant smiled at the child as he looked his way, he made faces which caused the baby to laugh at him and so did the couple. It was a long ride down, so Ant made conversation with the couple, who were very sweet to him and explained to him how they were visiting the man's mother and father so they could meet the baby for the first time.

as they made it down the stairs, a crowd of reporters and camera men had been crowded in a certain area. Ant hated reporters, he hated video cameras that weren't use for memorable times, also he hated pictures of himself, He always thought of himself as a shy guy. Ant took a deep breath because he knew they weren't here for him at least that's what he told his father to avoid at all cause. But as he made it further and further down the escalator he realized that the camera men and reporters had all stood behind one tall broad shoulder man with red hair. Ant's face filled with annoyance and anger when his sites came up on his father. Even though he promised, they still were able to find him..

Ant looked at Lacy and sighed as his mind returned back from the memory. "I did meet someone as I trained with dad though" he said. A bead of sweat dropped from his face and he looked to the side awkwardly. "I don't know if I should talk about her though.. she was a bit of an annoying bird.." he said lowly as he scratched his cheek a little. He stood in front of her and crossed his arms, Ant could tell something was wrong with Lacy, and he was done waiting for her to tell him. "what about you, you seem different you're kinda avoiding eye contact with me today. Did I do something?" he asked.

But as Ant asked the question, the end of the day bell had begun to rang and most of the students had already left to prepare for tomorrows first day of class introductions and placement battles.

Lacy just barely stiffened at the mention of another girl. Woah, woah, Lace. Calm down. It’s not like he likes you or anything. He’s allowed to have girlfriends. Besides, he said she’s annoying, right? she argued mentally with herself. She loosened up and looked down. “What about you? You seem different. You’re kinda-” However, before he could even finish the question, the bell rang loudly, cutting him off. Students began heading down the path to the street, getting ready to go home before a new day of school. Lacy looked up, managing to meet his gaze. "Sorry, what were you saying? The bell was noisy,” she said, grabbing the empty Pokéballs from her bag. She clicked each button, and her Pokémon returned one by one.

She pet Sen one final time before standing up and slipping into her backpack. Lacy was about to ask Ant to repeat the question, when a familiar face popped into view. None other than Saio was standing right beside Lacy, a smile on his face. Surprised, Lacy stepped back a bit and quickly glanced at Ant. “Ah... um, do you need something?” she asked him. Saio kindly looked down at her. “Could I talk to you really quick? Alone?" He said, briefly looking at Ant before looking back down at Lacy. Lacy raised an eyebrow. “Um, sure...? Give me a moment,” she added the last bit to Ant, then following Saio into the building.

“So... you needed something?” Lacy asked Saio, hands folded in front of her. He nodded. “Do you think we could hang out often? I don’t mean to come off as a creepy stalker... I’d just like to get to know you. I understand if you don’t want to,” Saio told her, looking a bit embarrassed. Lacy was surprised at what he had to tell her. “Oh... no, I don’t mind. We can talk more in class, too,” she replied, rubbing the back of her neck. He seems to have good intentions... she told herself. Saio brightened up. “Ah, great! I’ll see you tomorrow, then.” With that, he smiled at her and disappeared down the hall. Lacy was still a bit confused, but brushed off any uneasiness that tried to subdue her. She figured that making more friends would be useful in the end.

Lacy head back outside, squinting a bit at the sky. It wasn’t getting any sunnier, and it wasn’t terribly warm either. She turned her gaze forward once again and quickly walked over to Ant. “Sorry about that. He just wanted to ask if we could become better friends. Nothing serious,” she told him, theme ondeirng why she felt the need to add that last part of the sentence. “You had a question, correct?” Lacy asked, forcing herself to look up at him. She regretted it very quickly, but kept her gaze as strong as possible. Her head was still somewhat aching, and her chest certainly wasn’t feeling any better.

She looked once more at the sky. The clouds were slowly becoming more grey, and seemed to promise rain to come. Lacy held out her hand to the side, feeling the light sprinkle of water from the sky. She bit the inside of her cheek, taking off her backpack and unzipping it. Lacy pulled an umbrella from the bag, already having looked at the forecast earlier in the day. She didn’t open it quite yet, as it was still only a light array of drops falling.

Ant watched as Lacy walked off with the boy who they had met earlier, it made him a little uneasy that he didn't even really acknowledge Ant. He looked around a bit, before he took a his Pokemon's monster balls out of his bag. He held each one up and called them back into their home, except Nimbus who he needed to fly home on. Ant walked over to Nimbus and pat him softly on his head. "It's gonna rain soon boy, I know you don't want to deal with that lightning" he said softly as Nimbus coed into his hand. "Don't worry I don't mind walking home" he said to him. Nimbus looked at Ant with a worried face but, his trainer assured him he would be okay with this walk home in the rain. Santana loved the rain, he did most of his thinking in the rain. The water on his skin eased his mind a lot, almost as much as the snow.

As Ant waited he found himself mustering up an emotion as he looked at the boy conversate with Lacy. He had a bad feeling about him, but didn't want to be in the way of Lacy making a new friend so he bite his lip and kept his emotions bottled up. He called Nimbus back into his ball and strapped his bag on his back. The boy and his friend said by to each other and she made her way back to him, he smiled at her but it quickly changed again when she struggled to look up at him. She didn't act this way when the boy was around, so why did she still acted strange to Ant. "Yea.. nevermind it's not important aha" he said with a reassuring tone. "How was your vacation?" he asked as water droplet's felt gracefully down from the sky in a stream shortly after. Ant forgot his umbrella, he typically doesn't watch the news so he's always surprised by the weather. Lacy took out her umbrella, Ant laughed cause it was the same umbrella her Pokemon from long ago found and brought to her when she was lost in the forest. "Do you want me to walk you home?" he asked her. If she had said yes, Ant would stay for a little and catch up with her until the storm went down, he always enjoyed conversations with his best friend, they would talk for hours and sometimes he dose off at the foot of her bed. Lacy has made it clear to Ant that he could be a air head during conversations, maybe even more blunt then her but he just laughed and shrugged it off. Whatever was going on with Lacy, Ant just didn't want to ask her. She'll tell him in time.

The rain became to intense and Ant took out his cotton hoodie and placed it on him. The fabric slowly absorbing the water, dampening the coat.

Lacy opened the old umbrella, facing outwards as not to hit Ant when opening it. “How was your vacation?” He asked her. She shrugged, blowing her hair from her face. The rain was slightly beginning to pick up, so she lifted the umbrella above her. “So-so. Not a lot happened,” she replied, rubbing her eyes a bit tiredly. Everything felt sore.

Do you want me to walk you home?” Was the next question. Lacy felt a bit nervous at the question, and shook her head. “Hm.. oh, no. I take the bus, I’m fine,” she said hastily. “I should get going. The bus is already on its way.” With that, she looked up at Ant with a smile. Then, quickly, she turned around and briefly walked down the path and across the street. Her heart slowly finished its fluttering as she waited at the bus stop. A grim expression filled her face while she stood there, and regret began to bubble up in her. She hated how awkward and uncomfortable she acted around her old friend, and thoroughly wished that she hadn’t fallen for him. The bus screeched to a halt, and the doors flew open, inviting Lacy on. She did so, and slipped into a seat in the front.

The ride was quick, and Lacy jogged into her apartment as soon as she got off. It was raining heavily now, but she loved the cold, dim weather ever so. Lacy hustled up the flight of stairs into her actual apartment, quickly yanking off her wet sneakers. Despite having an umbrella, she was a bit soaked in several areas. She walked into her bedroom, unzipping her jacket, which was decorated with water droplets. She tossed it into the basket that was neatly placed near the foot of her bed. Then, she “wiggled” out of her jeans, tossing those aside as well. Finally, her socks and tee. After stripping down, she head into the bathroom, turned the tub on, and slipped out of the remainder of her clothing. Quickly, she grabbed a ponytail holder and tossed her hair into a messy bun, then stepped into the slowly rising tub.

Lacy sat in the warm water for quite a bit, mainly pondering about Ant. She cringed a bit, ducking lower into the water. ...I’m going to have to tell him sooner or later, she inwardly admitted. Audibly, she groaned before standing up from the water and stepping out onto the towel she had laid out. Lacy pulled the plug to the tub, then grabbing a separate towel and wrapping herself in it. She sniffled and rubbed her nose a few times as she went to her room and through her closet. Lacy ended up wearing a short pair of soft shorts, socks, and a grey long sleeved shirt that was a bit loose on her. Her hair was in a different messy bun, with her bangs sideswept.

Lacy grabbed her backpack from her bed, taking a specific Pokéball out and opening it. Mango came bouncing out onto her bed, making Lacy crack a small smile. Lacy crawled into her bed, laying on her stomach. Mango cocked her head to the side, then crawling over to her trainer and flopping down beside her. She was unusually small for a Passimian, and was much lighter than the usual Pokémon. Lacy lifted her arm up for Mango to snuggle under, then let her arm gently rest on the Pokémon. Mango could tell that Lacy was troubled, and wanted her trainer to feel better. So, she scooted up a bit, and rested her head in the crook of Lacy’s neck to comfort her. Lacy smiled, murmuring, “Thank you.”

Ants face wrinkled up a little when his friend told him no, she was still hesitant with him. He took a inner breath and nodded, he let a normal smile creep onto his face. He didn't want Lacy to worry if he was upset, it was rare if he ever did. "Yea, that's fine. Let me know when you get home okay?" he said to her. she nodded at him, I should be going, the bus is almost here. Ant nodded and watched as she walked away from him, the slightly dense sheet of rain distorted her figure until she was completely gone from his site. He sighed, he could feel his body grow cold from the damp hoodie he had on. He made his way to the gate, it was convenient because the gate let out on the street that was basically a straight shot to Ant's apartment complex.

As Ant walked, he often spaced out. The noises around him became nothing but a muffled echo in his ear; including the rain. The boys mind was filled with so many questions, How many people are gonna be in his class?, How will the school year turn out for him?. Will anyone actually talk to him besides his best friend?, and biggest of them all, why is his closes friend acting distant towards him? Ant gripped strands of his box braids and slightly pulled on them, he was confused worried and upset all at the same time and didn't know how to handle his emotions. "AH! WHAT DO I DO?" he screamed. "you can start by coming inside silly boy" said a familiar slightly soft voice. Ant loosen the grip on his hair and turned around, it had been Mrs O'nani, the kind old lady who looks after Ant ever so often. "What are you doing out here in those wet garments boy?" she said with a harsh tone, "You'll catch a cold, come into the shop" she demanded. He didn't realize that he walked far enough that he passed the store he worked at. In the window was Mr O'nani, he had been watching the boys sudden outburst this whole time, which caused Ant to slightly shrink in embarrassment. "Y-Yes ma'am.."he replied. With the harshness of the rain increasing, Ant quickly dipped into the safety of the store.

The rain increased steadily, the wind picked up and the clouds grew darker every ten minutes, varied. His jacket had taken place outside but under a umbrella on the porch, so it could dry off and have shelter from dampening again. Ant's stared out the giant store front window, his eyes had zoned out. They had turned a milky white gray mix. Even with the calling of his name the boy was still in his zone, until Mrs, O'nani had softly caressed him in a warm towel and handed him a couple of warm tea. "What's on your mind Santana" she asked as she took place in the seat next to him. "Yes son what's eating you" asked the husband. Ant turned to them both, then took in a deep breath, he could feel his lungs ache. "I had a good day.. everything was fine. It's just.. I saw Lacy today and she just couldn't look at me at all, not to mention she's just been acting different towards me, but not this other boy we just met today" he sighed again and took a deep sip of his tea. "Maybe, I'm over thinking things, Lacy would tell me if something was wrong.. at least I hope" he said to the couple. They looked at each other for a little bit before they let out a simultaneous chuckle. Ant turned to them confused, but their laughter was infectious, he couldn't help but smile himself and for a moment all of his troubles seem to pass away. "Come now lad, maybe you didn't compliment her new hair style. You know how women are!" he laughed. Mrs. O'nani cringed a little and lightly through a book at the old man's head. "Can it you no nothing" she said with anger. "Ouch woman!" he said as he rubbed the bump on his head. Santana laughed, the old couple were as lively as ever. "You're both growing hun, maybe she's finally seeing what a man you are since last year and.. maybe she has feelings for you now" she said snickering a little. The thought of Lacy having feelings for Ant caused his face to a reddish pink colour. "Oh no no Lacy isn't like that, she isn't the k-kinda girl to have feelings for a non experted trainer like me" he said as he waved his hands. Ant felt like smoke from his face being so hot was about to erupt from his ears.

After several minutes of idle chat with the couple, and Ant helped move a couple of boxes around for tomorrow, he waved his goodbyes to the couple and rushed his way towards the apartment complex, which was no more then a couple of buildings down the block. His building was all but quiet from the storm, the kids two doors down were crying from the constant crackle of thunder and lightning. The three boy roommates next door had been practicing their instruments with their wolf type Pokemon roaring in the background. "Good to be home.. I guess" as he unlocked the door to his apartment. As he walked in he looked down at his phone to see if there were any messages from Lacy, text log was empty and so was the call log. "I guess she went to sleep.." he said to himself. Ant shrugged it off and made his way to the bathroom, but before he walked through the door he dropped his bag and let out all of his Pokemon. Everyone made their way to their areas, Leaf ran to Ant as he entered the bathroom. The boy shivered as he, with force, pulled the soaking wet shirt that clinged to his athletic toned body off. It was slightly heavy and made a wet smack on the floor when he tossed it down. Next was his jeans, they were equally or even more cold then his shirt and it didn't help that he kept the A/C running half the time. He stood idly around his bathroom until he found his favourite towel. He wrapped it around his head to soak the water in and made his way to his room with Leaf. His bed was warm and inviting, He wanted to jump right in, but hesitated for a minute, he had things to get out before he fell asleep.

Ant rummaged through his closet, shirts, pants, hoodies and shoes. He digged and digged until he found the bag he had brought back from kanto that held items he brought back. He unzipped the bag and smiled, "there it is.. I knew I didn't forget this" he said as he pulled on what seemed to be a over sized yellow hoodie. "She'll love this" as he pulled it out and stood up. Ant searched for a hanger and hung the hoodie on the back of his desk chair and nodded. He turned to his bed, where leaf already made a spot for himself on. "Aha tomorrow is training day for you" he said as he rubbed the top of the Bulbasaur's head. Ant smiled as his body was engulfed into his thick fluffy blanket and pillow. His eyes grew heavier the more he sunk in it, his head didn't hurt as much anymore and his body was dry. The rain pitter pattered off his windows and the lights were off. Soon after Ant had descended into his dreams, Goodnight future explorer.

Lacy woke up with a startle, having her room illuminated for a second by a harsh crack of lightning outside. She rubbed her eyes, glancing down at the sleeping Pokémon that lay against her leg. She smiled, and reached her hand out to pet the forehead of the monkey. Lacy reached for her phone, squinting at its brightness. It was 1:24 in the morning. Lacy cringed and turned her phone off, flopping back down. She was still completely drowsy, but found that she couldn’t sleep very well. Plus, her nose was starting to feel stuffy, and she wasn’t very warm. “Shit... sick on the second day of school,” she sighed, rubbing her nose. Lacy slid out of her bed, and stumbled through the dark room into the bathroom. She slowly turned on the lights, careful not to blind herself with their brightness. When the room lit up, Lacy saw her reflection looked extremely fatigued. The thin girl leaned over the counter, examining the growing circles under her eyes. Her nose was a light red as well.

After turning the lights off, Lacy hastily returned to her bed, slipping under the covers this time. Mango stirred a bit, before dramatically rolling over in her sleep. Lacy shivered once before nuzzling her pillow, slowly falling back asleep.

She woke once again, this time at 5:02. Sighing loudly, she grudgingly slipped from her covers and turned on her lamp, lightly brightening the room. It had stopped raining, but it the cold seemed to nip at those who were outside. Lacy rubbed her tired eyes as she rummaged through her closet. She grabbed a pair of dark, denim, skinny jeans and tossed them on the floor. Then, she grabbed a loose red shirt, whose sleeves were long. Finally, she grabbed a pair of thick socks. One by one, she put the garments on and yawned. Mango was still snoozing on her bed.

Lacy, now dressed, walked into the bathroom, where she combed through her hair, and put it into a ponytail with a scrunchie. Her bangs, however, stayed out in the usual side-swept position. Finally, she brushed her teeth and head back into her bedroom, where she returned Mango and grabbed her backpack. Lacy walked into the living room and dining area, where a somewhat loose black jacket lay on the arm of her couch. She shoved it on, then grabbed an apple from the kitchen. As she ate, she shoved on a pair of white sneakers. Then, she tossed the apple away and head out the door, locking it behind her.

Briskly, she walked down the apartment stairs and outside, where a cool wave of air hit her in the face. Immediately, she threw her jacket hood on, and tightened her grip on her backpack. Afterwards, she jogged to the bus stop, where she waited a couple of minutes before it arrived. As per usual, she entered the vehicle, and it dropped her off at the usual spot, right on time. There, she (somewhat nervously) waited for Ant to arrive.

It was 4:02 am, Ant had already awoken from his seven hour sleep. He wore his Ki white training pants and his old rope belt across his waist. He sat himself on his balcony, on the ledge of the hollister. He sat in meditation position and caught droplets of aftermath rain on his hair and body. His mind had wondered into a mental training area, somewhere that keeps himself as calm as he is. His hands cupped into an oval position laid firmly on his lap and against his lower ab. Early morning mediation was something that the trainer did regularly and was taught at an early age to help him become a more interesting trainer. The sun slowly arose from the horizon and engulfed the sky in an orange and blue gradient scheme. The sun crept up slowly until he burned brightly in Ant's face. His eyes opened slowly, the hazelnut crystallized irises soaked in the sun, they almost seemed golden. Ant fell backwards until he was in a complete hand stand, his feet high and firm in the air. He slowly lowered them back until they touched the floor, his feet splashing in the small puddles on the balcony. He held that stretching position for a couple of minutes before he pulled his torso back up and he had took a regular stance. Ant pulled the sliding door open, he looked around as his Pokemon were still deep in sleep. He smiled as each one seemed so warm and relaxed in their positions. The alarm in his room begun to blaze loudly, it was 5:00 am, time for Ant to get ready for classes. Lacy was probably already up and dressed. He didn't wake up late today so he could just walk to the building instead, and probably stop by the mini mart for breakfast. Ant looked through his closet and found black slight baggy sweats, a black shirt with a poison skull on the side of the sleeve and his zip up yellow hoodie. He placed his small poison earrings in both ears and ruffled his braids a little to make his hair look a little more filled. He smiled as he looked at himself in the mirror, he wasn't that scruffy looking kid from a long time ago, he actually was pretty attractive. He grabbed his bag and saw the hoodie that hung from his chair. He nodded and folded it until it was an easy fit in with his backpack. Leaf was already awake and ready by the door, he ran slightly in circles happy to walk with Ant to class today. Ant smiled and took hold of the other four balls and called back his other Pokemon.

5:30, Ant was already out the door and down the stairs. He passed the three roommates from the apartment next to him. They exchanged hand daps and continued on separate paths. He felt much better after all his confusing thoughts subsided from yesterday. Ant really didn't have nothing to worry about, If his best friend wanted to know she would just tell him, but he wondered could he really stop himself from being mad if she kept doing it. Leaf gave his trainer a soft cue as he took rest on Ant's shoulder. "Aha me too, let's stop here." he said to Leaf. Ant turned into the mini mart in which he worked at. "Hey Mr. O'nani here for a quick breakfast" he said as he ran in and waved at the half asleep old man. Mr O'nani startled fell backwards in his seat, "OH!OW" he said. Ant took no notice as he made his way towards the back and searched through different kinds of breads and drinks. Leaf leaped off his shoulder and snatched up the most sweet looking of breads. "Oh you want that one? aha" he said as he took it out of the Pokemon's mouth. Ant picked up three different breads, two drinks and a instant noodle box for later. He made his way to the front and slammed exact change on the counter before he took off. "I'm gonna be later boss, here's exact change see ya!" he yelled as he rushed out the door with Leaf on his head. Mr O'nani laughed and didn't have the heart to tell him he was missing thirty yen.

Ant arrived at the building shortly after. Leaf clinged hard to the boys head as he rushed over to the usual meet spot, where of course Lacy was already taken place at. He waved at her from a distance as he made his way over to her. "Hey Lacy good morning!" he yelled. Some of the students stood in mid conversation from his loud greeting. Once he was in front of her he held her favourite bread and juice to her. "I'm sure you didn't eat like I didn't so I brought us a quick breakfast" he said with a happy smile on his face. Ant held the other juice and bread in his hand up towards himself with an even bigger grin on his face. "Haha I got mine too so don't worry" he added.

Ant and Lacy sat on the bench, he took small bites of his bread and chewed here and there as he un-bagged the other bread for Leaf. The grass typed stared at the item with hungry eyes before it dug it with crumbs around his face. Ant chuckled and looked at Lacy before he remembered the gift in his bag. He took off the bag and begun to dig in it, "Oh yea I have a gift for you I forgot to give to you yesterday" he said as he took out a yellow over-sized hoodie with a fluffy pokeball on the back. "I know this is your favourite colour so, I thought you'd like it, I got it when I was in Veridian City." he said. "I hope you don't mind it got mixed with myself so It might have my smell on it aha"

The bell rang for the first class. Ant looked around as the other students made their way into the building, groups of friends returning and first years seemed excited to start their new journey. He smiled, the air was chilly and the rain made the place a little bland which was his favourite kinda thing. He faced Lacy and stroked her head, he noticed her nose was slightly red and her cheeks were puffy. "got sick huh?" he said as he looked in his bag again, until he found Lacy's medicine. The only one she's willing to take. "Here, don't fight me just take this" as he handed her a cup of medicine.

Lacy found herself seated near Ant while her scarfed down his breakfast. She simply stared down at it, not very hungry. “I’ll eat it later,” she said, reaching in her backpack and pulling out a little plastic baggie. Briskly, she pushed the food into the bag and closed it, then setting it in her backpack once again. Her heart beat madly.

Oh yeah, I have a gift for you that I forgot to give you yesterday. I hope you don’t mind that it got mixed with myself, so it might have my smell on it, aha,” Ant told her as he held out a colorful sweatshirt. Lacy stared at the sweatshirt for a second, blinked once, and smiled softly. Her ears were completely reddened with blush, but because her hood was up, she was safe. "Ah, thank you... I’ll be sure to wear it often," Lacy said, taking the clothing and carefully setting it in her bag. Then, he offered her medicine, to which her expression became cold and unwilling. She hated any type of medicine, though she often found herself taking it. “Why are you carrying that around?” she pressed, taking the little cup. Distastefully, she glare down at it before hesitantly downing it. Lacy covered her mouth, holding in a disgusted groan.

Lacy stood up, shoving her hands in her pockets. “Class is starting soon. I’ve got History of Battling, so I’ll see you after that,” she said, having remembered both of their schedules. Of the five classes, they didn’t share the first one or the last one. As she hastily walked up to the doors, she felt a bit guilty for leaving so quick, even after Ant was being kind to her. She thought about it a bit more as she turned down the hall, entering the classroom. Most of the students were there already, so she quickly found an open seat and sat down, setting her bag on the ground. Lacy pulled her hood down and rubbed her nose. “Ah, hey!” a very familiar voice interrupted Lacy’s thoughts. She turned her head to find that she had unknowingly sat down near Saio. She offered a weak smile, then saying, “Oh, sorry. I didn’t realize you were there.”

The two talked for awhile; Saio carefully learned to get to know Lacy, and Lacy hesitantly let him. By the time the teacher arrived, Lacy was already starting to feel somewhat comfortable around Saio, which wasn’t very common for the girl. “Good morning, students - my name is Mr. Nelson and I will be teaching you about the history of battles from so long ago. Please, you don’t need you textbooks at the moment, do not open them. Seeing as it’s your first day, I will allow you to get more settled into this class. That being said, I want you to pay attention,” the teacher spoke clearly. He was somewhat middle-aged, with slightly greying brown hair, thick glasses, and usual “teacher attire.” Lacy, being a typical good student, paid him most of her attention. Most of it. The rest, she paid to Saio writing down jokes on a piece of loose leaf paper. She scoffed quietly, but he heard her quite easily and smiled, a bit pleased looking.

The rest of the class was rather easygoing and simple to follow. He continued on about the oldest known trainer to date, and spread a few facts about them here and there. In the end, there wasn’t any assignment, just an encouragement to keep up in studying, as it would pay off in the end.

Ah, thank you... I’ll be sure to wear it often," Lacy said. Ant smiled when she took the hoodie and placed it in her bag, he slightly chuckled as her face changed from happy to unwilling like a child. "Why are you carrying that around" she asked before she downed the drink with a disgusted face. "I have too or you'll never take care of yourself.. It's not that bad" he replied to her. Lacy stood up quickly right after he spoke. She clenched her bag and looked at him, “Class is starting soon. I’ve got History of Battling, so I’ll see you after that,” she said to him then as fast as she spoke, she hastily walked off without even a reply from him. Ant watched as she quickly dashed away from him, his face sadden and he looked down at the bottled medicine in his hand, his hair covering his eyes so you could only see his unhappy equal spaced lips. He takes a deep sigh and clenched the bottle tight in his hand. Leaf stopped eating and stared up worried at his trainer, he crept up on his arm and softly nuzzled it, the Pokemon tried it's best to grab Ant's attention. Ant's eyes shifted over to Leaf and gentle caressed the top of his head, Leaf purred under him. "lets go leaf.." he said as he called the Pokemon back into his ball and threw away any food left.

Ant made his way to class, he passed by many closed doors until he came across a door with a familiar face inside it. It was that boy, Saio the one that Lacy had taken a fond interest in now or he believed that from the last time. As his eyes peered to the left he saw Lacy, his friend with a soft smile on her face as he talked to the boy. The silent smacking of lips between them as he talked was drowned by the slight irritation Ant was now feeling in his heart. He placed his hands in his pockets and walked away without notice. He made his way to his room, A115. "this is it I guess.." he said to himself. Ant was irritated, he couldn't believe Lacy would just leave him the way she did. He looked down at his Phone, the bright LED light from it gave him a headache so he held down the power button until the phone went dark and chimed off. He slide open the door and made his way to the back of the class in the desk closes to the window. He threw his bag onto the floor under his chair. Kids slowly made their way in, each one of them with a friend or quickly conversant with each other. Ant stared out the window, long enough that he drowned everything out around him. As the room got full the teacher made her way into the room. "Okay! Okay! settle down everyone, welcome to your first day! this class is a mix of freshman second and third year. Welcome to Power Moves. This is an advance class and I know most of you are itching to meet each other, please place your Pokeballs out on your desk and I'll call on each of you to introduce yourself and your Pokemon" she said as she clapped her hands at the end of her speech.

Santana took out each of his balls, he placed each one of them down but against each other with a special ball with a thunderbolt on it in the middle. Ant stared down at his Pokemon, his head filled with questions that he should probably stop caring for but he didn't have the heart to not think about Lacy. He gripped his forearm as students were called one by one. "You there in the third row" the teacher pointed to a young girl with long dark purple hair. Her shirt stopped just right above her stomach as she stood up, she had on slightly baggy jeans and purple converse. Her body language was confident and strong. "My name is Michiko, korean natural born. I'm 19 years old and have currently 5 badges. two from kanto and 3 from unova. I love poison type Pokemon" she said towards the class. Her voice was mature, a little sly and mischievous. She held three Pokeballs out and pointed them towards the floor, the balls opened with white flashes of light. Out came a Salazzle, Scolipede and Nidoqueen. The class erupted with an uproar at how strong each one of them are, they really complimented each other as well as Michiko.

One by one each student stood and took their turn showing off their Pokemon and saying a little bit about themselves. Until the teacher made her way to Ant. "Ah.." she looked down at her paper for his name, the boy was lost in thought as he stared down at his monster balls. "Santana.. oh! Santana are you there?" she said as she slightly waved her hand by his face. Ant quickly came to attention and stood up slightly embarrassed. The class slightly chuckled at him, a couple of the girls complimenting him and some of the men gossiped. "Well go ahead, tell us a little about yourself" she gestured. Ant took a deep breath, his face still held an annoyed look but he tried to loosen up. "My name is Santana, I'm a second year here. I was born in Alolan, my father.." Ant hesitated and quickly corrected himself. "Ah never mind.. My mother is a Pokemon Professor. I have a unique style of fighting. I want to be a Professor and Elite Champion in the future" he stated. Ant slowly let each of his Pokemon out, Serene: Rai: Leaf: Nimbus and Sen. The class up roared when they saw Sen's golden colour scheme. "Oh this is my Arbok, Sen. I found him in the wild back in grade school. He was different from the normal Ekans in the wild as you can see instead of purple he's gold. He was also the smallest Ekans." he added. Michiko stared at Sen with interest but she found her gaze mostly on Ant himself, she studied his features and found herself more interested then expected. The Teacher repeated Ant's name in her head over and over until she concluded her thoughts. "Oh aren't you the son of Lance the Kanto League Ex-Champion?" she asked. Ant's spine shivered up a little when she mentioned it and he knew he couldn't lie at this point. "Yes my father is Lance.." he said silently. The Class glared him down, The son of an Elite Four Champion in the room, he knew he had a target on his back now. Ant took his seat as he called back all his Pokemon. "Alright now that all the introductions are over we can begin todays class, nothing to hard just main points that will be happening and you should expect" she said.

Time flew by and the bell rang, Ant reached for his bag. I'll take my break on the roof.. Lacy probably enjoying her time with that guy, he said to himself. Ant felt the light tap of a finger on his shoulder and he sat up, It was Michiko. "Hey, I'm glad to have a strong trainer in the class, it's nice to meet you" she said as she stared down at him. Ant looked at her and shrugged her off a little, he stood up and swung his bag over his shoulder. "Thanks, hope to see how good you are later down the class" he replied as he walked steadily away from her. "Have a good rest of your day" he waved at her as he made his way out the door. Michiko placed her hands on her hips and scuffed, but she enjoyed a little bit of a chase.

Ant steadily dodged the people who crowded the hallway as every made their way to their second classes. His braids carefully covered his eyes, which made it easier for him to avoid eye contact with others. He didn't know how he would act, Lacy was in his next class and apparently so was that guy. He made it a choice to arrive late to class, he didn't mind it was just the first day. He quickly made the opposite turn to a pair of stairs that lead to the glass dome for grass type Pokemon located by the battle area.

As class dismissed, Lacy gathered her things and threw on her bag. She stood up from her seat and head out the door with several other students. Saio was fairly close behind her, and he seemed to hold a pleasant aura. Lacy tightened her grip on the straps of her bag as she head down the hall. Before walking into the classroom, she noticed Ant talking to a fair young lady, who was obviously trying to grab his attention. Lacy felt her heart stop for several seconds. Her head pounded as she walked into the classroom, somewhat unconsciously walking to the back of the room. She seated herself in a seat near the wall, a blank expression on her face. The feeling the welled up in her was new - a mixture of jealousy and heartbreak. She thought back to the alluring expression of the girl, and cringed slightly. Her heart slowly started beating again, and she rested her head on her hands. Saio sat a few seats in front of her near another boy. An unfamiliar girl sat next to Lacy.

“...Hey. You okay?” the girl asked Lacy. Lacy, who was startled, turned to the girl. She was pretty cute, with long, blonde hair and shiny lipgloss. She was chewing gum somewhat loudly. “S-sorry.. what?” Lacy asked, swallowing. Her throat was dry. “Are ya alright? You look really upset,” the girl repeated. Lacy mentally grimaced. Of course she was upset. “I’m alright. Just... alright,” she said with a weak smile. The girl shrugged and smiled back, turning her gaze to the front of the classroom while twirling a lock of her hair.

Ant still hadn’t shown up to class, which only caused Lacy further worry and guilt. She figured he’d be rather upset that she was doing her best to avoid him, all while doing her best to talk to him, too. But because he didn’t understand, it was super hard for Lacy to act normal around him. Then, when Saio came along, she felt a bit relieved that he was there to distract her from Ant.

...Whatever. He can hang out with whoever he wants. So can I. Obviously, he wants to talk to her. Nothing I can do, Lacy thought negatively. A new wave of anger swept over her - partially at Ant, partially at herself. Lacy rubbed her nose. Her head hurt more than ever, and she just wanted the day to end. Lacy had a strong feeling that she’d be spending most of her day with Saio instead of Ant. Speaking of him, Lacy took a second to look in his direction. She caught him looking at her as well. Quickly, he flushed and turned back around, leaving Lacy slightly confused.

Meanwhile, the teacher, who was talking about the importance of bonding with your Pokémon, continued rambling on and drawing all over the whiteboard. Lacy had no desire to pay attention, however, and stared down at the table she shared with the girl beside her. Her eyes stung, and she felt her forehead getting warm. Uh-oh... Lacy thought, immediately recognizing that a fever was brewing in her. Great. Absolutely great. This is a wonderful first day of school.

Ant took his sweet time as he ventured further and further up the stairs. He felt the cool breeze rush his face and tangled in and out of his scalp and through his braids. He took a deep breath, he felt himself loosen up from his negative emotions. "Why am I really getting upset.. I'm happy Lacy found someone to talk to besides me all the time" he said as he made his seat at the top of the roof. He oversaw the whole campus, his eyes scanned the floors, he peeked in on the first year battles, and the fourth year battles as well. He smiled and played around with his braids. A soft smile swept his face as he saw Lacy in his mind and he smile when they use to sit and talk. He quickly placed his hands down between his criss cross bent legs, He leaned back on his arms and grunted a little, he felt a pressure against his chest, he knew what that meant. He opened his mouth wide, soon followed by a loud out burst. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he shouted. From down below, a couple of students heard as Ant burst out, they stopped in their tracks and searched around but could not find the source, so they continued on with their battles and conversations. Ant fell back on his back, he was laid out like a star. His eyes dimmed and his ran his hand up his shirt, he softly stroked the ripples on his stomach; his abs. Ant looked to the side at his bag, it slouched backwards a little and was slightly unzipped from the bottom. His eyes wandered to Nimbus's ball, he smiled and reached inside. As he pulled out Nimbus ball, Rai's ball fell out of the bag with it and rolled over to Ant, he smiled and held both balls up in the air. "Come on out you two" he said as the red flashes of light light up the area around him. Rai had taken his place in front of Ant and Nimbus took wind to the sky, he circled around Ant until he came to a relaxed float above him. The trainer let a serene sigh escape his lips, Rai sniffed his trainer then made his way to him. He rubbed his cheeks against his and cued.

Minutes had gone by, Ant still yet to return to class. The teacher had now took it upon himself to start introductions. He pointed to each student one by one. "Name, age, rank and year" he repeated. Nimbus, soared the sky on his own, the fluffy cloud circled the school. He started from the bottom and worked his way up until he passed by Ant's and Lacy's current class. His Keen Eye caught sight of Lacy and he happily made his way quietly to the window by Lacy's desk. "Burr!Burr!" he shouted at the window, the sudden sounds caught the attention of some of the students in the class. "Hey look an Altaria!" said the boy in the third row. Some of the students turned their head, so did the teacher. Nimbus took more attention to Lacy, He pecked at her side of the window.

Ant was asleep next to Rai; as his trainer Rai enjoyed breezy days with slight sun. They were both equally as relaxed when around each other and the sun warmly glew between the clouds and down at Ant every time a cloud passed through. The trainer was in a light sleep and was still aware of sudden disturbances around him, he opened one of his eyes and peaked in on Rai. He chuckled and leaned up, he softly scratched the mouses stomach. Rai unconsciously flicked his leg back and forth, Ant laughed. He sat up more, to only find the air around him silent, which was unusual since he let Nimbus out to play. Ant rocked back and flung himself onto his feet, he brushed his sweats off and looked up and down the area. "Nimbus! Nimbus were did you go?" he shouted.

Nimbus after his encounter with Lacy, over heard his trainer's calls. He flew backwards and soared straight up and towards Ant. He flew in close just for his trainer to stroke his head. "Haha where did you go?" he said to him. Nimbus caressed the underside of Ant's chin against his neck. Ant chuckled and rubbed his chin back against Nimbus, which caused the Pokemon to blush a little. "I have to go back to class boy, time to go back into your ball I'll see you for battles later" he said to him. Nimbus cued in happiness, and was interrupted by the recall of the Pokeball's light. Ant made his way back to Rai, who in fact was still asleep. The trainer rested his head in his hand and shook his head, Rai had definitely took on Ant's personality and he couldn't deny it. He held the ball up and called back Rai into his ball. A soft static revolved around the thunderbolt that stuck in the middle of red top. He placed both balls in his bag and jumped back down to the exit of the roof.

Ant rushed down the stairs, the hallways were quiet. He knew he couldn't sneak back into the room but he could make less of a distraction if he came in through the back, if possible. Hopefully there was an empty seat near the door. As he walked the halls, he turned the corner a little to quick and bumped into something firm and soft at the same time. He backed up slightly startled, "Oh hey!" said a familiar voice. Ant looked up, It was Michiko. Ant blew out air, "Oh it's you, sorry about that" he said to her. She smiled and leaned in "Skipping class? it's no problem." she replied. Ant's face was soft, but his attitude wasn't in a good standing today. "Yea you could say that" the young man leaned back into his heels and his bag was slung over his shoulder instead of around his arms, The posture just screamed mysterious boy, something that Michiko was heavily attracted too. Her eyes were full of hunger to understand this quiet boy in front of her that had the beautiful Arbok from first class. "Hey I'd like to battle you sometime is that okay, you seem more of a battler then a talker" she added. Ant was caught off-guard by the question, most people never directly ask him to battle. He clenched his bag and gave her a friendly smile, "Yea you could say that, I'll take you on. I got to go" he said and before she could reply he already begun his journey back to class. Michiko smiled and watched him walk away, she studied the way Ant walked, the way his hair bounced just his demeanor. "I might have found a new play toy" she said softly to herself.

Ant made it to the door to his class, he hesitated before he opened it. Lacy was in there, she probably hadn't noticed that he wasn't in class. Her attention was probably taken by that boy, who's name escaped Ant's mind a lot. The thought of Lacy avoiding him again, fired up his anger again, but it couldn't be helped it seemed like that was gonna be a constant thing now. He tightened his body and opened the door. He walked in as the boy Lacy found interesting begun his introduction. The class, the boy and the teacher slightly stopped and turned their attention to Ant, who had this didn't want to be bothered aura around him. "Sorry to interrupt.. I'm also apart of this class" he said monotonically. He looked around the room, scanned quickly. He caught Lacy's glance, he took a second then shifted his glance again until he found a seat one row down at the end near the door. He made his way and put down his back next to it. "Tardiness isn't acceptable, but i'll let it slide for today" announced the teacher. He turned his attention back to the boy, "Please continue lad" he said.

Lacy jumped as the window beside her was pecked loudly, followed by the trills of a familiar Pokémon. She, with many other students, looked out the window with a bit of disbelief. Nervously, Lacy glanced at the class, who’s eyes landed only on her for an uncomfortable few seconds. Then, Nimbus fluttered off and relief filled Lacy. She hung her head, muttering about how Ant should have been paying more attention to his partner. The teacher cleared his throat, signaling for the next student to classify themselves. A few more students went on, until Saio stood up. A few girls, scattered throughout the classroom, swooned softly at his appearance. He smiled and opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Ant suddenly arriving into the classroom. Lacy fidgeted a bit as he apologized for his tardiness. When his eyes met hers, she stared back with hurt clear in her eyes. Then, she turned to face the window.

Ah, okay. My name is Saio Kang, I’m nineteen years old, an am currently a sophomore - rank two,” he announced coolly. With that, he sat down, and the introductions continued. Finally, it was Lacy’s turn to stand up. Hesitantly, the girl pushed herself up and cleared her throat. “Lacy Park. Nineteen years old, a sophomore. Rank one,” she said, a bit loud. She rubbed her nose once before sitting back down. As she expected, the whispers began to surround her. “Rank one? Park? She’s kinda cute - she looks sick though.” Lacy closed her eyes and grit her teeth, taking in a deep breath. When she opened her eyes again, they seemed to pierce all who began gossiping, and the room fell silent. Slowly, the students continued announcing themselves, until Ant was finally reached - he was late because of his lateness.

Lacy did her best to tune him out. She was by no means intentionally ignoring him, but hearing his voice give her a rollercoaster of emotions. As he spoke, she rested her face in her hands, covering her eyes. All she could think about was that unfamiliar chick who so obviously had a thing for Ant. Lacy had a strong feeling that that young lady would have more luck with a romantic relationship with Ant, only because she seemed unafraid if letting her feelings slip. Lacy, on the other hand, was having the worst luck with doing so, and was forcing herself to avoid him overall. She hated doing it the entire time, as well.

After Ant finished, the class continued for a few moments until the bell rang. Hastily, Lacy gathered her things and hustled out the door. She was one of the first few out and was already quickly making her way to her next class. The fever seemed to grow stronger, slowly but surely. Quickly entering the room, she sat near the front, in the seat against the wall out of the two seats available. Slowly, students began to fill the classroom. A new person sat near Lacy - a girl with short black hair and dark clothing on. She seemed quiet, with relieved Lacy heavily. Eventually the class was fully occupied, and the teacher stepped forward to face all of the students. “Welcome,” she started, “To Pokémon Behavior class, where you’ll understand the lifestyle and emotions of specific Pokémon. It’s your first day, so there will not be any assignments, however, that gives you no excuse to doze off and not pay attention. Now, let’s begin...” Lacy, as per usual, didn’t pay much attention to the rest of the lesson. Instead, thoughts flooded and raced through her mind wildly, causing more pain in her head than before. She mentally groaned as she rested her chin in her hands, staring at the front of the room.

Once - just once - Lacy glanced at Ant, eyes dim with hurt and confusion. However, she quickly averted her attention back to the front, where she stared blankly down at her notebook. Inaudibly, Lacy sighed and blinked once, looking back up at the teacher. She could already tell that it was going to be a long day ahead of her.

Ant leaned on his hand and stared idly at the teacher as each person took their turn, he sighed. "Why can't we just get straight to battling" he said in his head. The angry but sadden feeling surrounded Ant, his eyes glanced to the side only to see Lacy's eyes on him, she immediately turned away, what was new there. Ant scuffed, he was angry, deeper than that, he felt broken, Lacy couldn't even look at him and he doesn't even know what he did wrong. His eyes dimmed down, it was clear by his facial expressions he was in a bad mood. "Okay Lad it's your turn" said the teacher. The old man pointed down at Ant "Yes Mr. Late, You.." he repeated. The room quiet down after a few chuckles at the comment. Ant stood he glared down the room, his gaze slightly drifted to Lacy, she ignored his turn after being so interested in everyone else especially Saio. Ant felt defeated, so he didn't try anymore to play along, "Santana, Nineteen, Rank One, Sophomore" then he sat back down. The classed looked slightly confused at how fast Ant spoke. The air felt thick, even though everyone was close to him he felt so far away, even further from his best friend. What could have happened for her to treat him like he's no one now. She knew how Ant disliked being ignored, he rather have someone tell him straight up then to brush him off like he's no one. He kept his braids in his face as he stared down.

The bell rang, class ended and before Ant could even confront Lacy she took off quickly behind him. He could fell this small line pull and tear as she raced passed him. Their friendship seemed to have ended in one day without even words exchanged. Ant clawed at his forearm until he broke skin. What the f*ck changed between them; from yesterday into today or maybe it was the summer apart, he didn't know, his mind raced through everything he could have done still nothing. As he reached down and grabbed his bag Ant could feel a figure hover over him. It was Saio. Ant stood up and faced the boy, their eyes deeply meet. Saio begun to talk, but no sounds. Ant's mind had blocked out every word that left the boy's mouth, he didn't know whether he was angry or uninterested in what he had to say to him. Ant carefully read the lips of Saio, his eyes widen. The pleasant face, pretty boy gave him a darken innocent smiled and walked right past him. Only Saio and Ant knew what happened in those couple of minutes.

Ant left the room moments after the last person. He dug through his pockets for some gum, his eyes had turned milky brown. Ant rummaged and rummaged until he pulled out the receipt from the store. He slowly came too, It was his turn to watch the store; he had forgotten Mr O'Nani had a doctors appointment today. He sighed a little in relief, it was a bit of a relief he had an excuse to actually leave. Ant walked through the halls until he made it into the room, he took his seat next to the door again. His usual sat to the easiest escape route around. Lacy once again turned back to look at Ant, but he didn't look at her he just felt her eyes. The teacher walked in and quickly rounded up the attention of the students. “Welcome,” she started, “To Pokémon Behavior class, where you’ll understand the lifestyle and emotions of specific Pokémon. It’s your first day, so there will not be any assignments, however, that gives you no excuse to doze off and not pay attention. Now, let’s begin...” Ant held his hand up quickly, he interrupted her next sentence. "Excuse me, I have to leave for the rest of the day" The teacher gave her body attention to the young man. "Make your way to the front of the class please" she directed Ant with the stroke of her hand. He stood up and held his bag in his hand. "Yes ma'am.." he said lowly. Ant walked in the middle of the desk, he past Lacy without a glance, and right after her, Saio. Ant explained the situation to his teacher and she nodded. "Very well, We'll see you tomorrow Ant" she gave the boy a sweet smile and stroked some of his braids out of his face. Her expression changed slightly when she saw the usual bright young man with a uncomfortable annoyed face. She didn't want to push any further, to not cause commotion amongst the class. Ant looked at her, he slightly brushed her hand away from his hand and walked quickly out the room. Small gossip from around the room begun to start. "who was that boy"/"I don't know but he was super cute"/"Wasn't that Santana? I heard he's a top trainer?"/"No way I heard his father was Lance"/"Haha he probably isn't all that strong, his father probably buys him tough Pokemon so he doesn't have to train ever"/"What's with his hair?"/"His braids are so attractive, I'd love to make his breakfast"/"I know right he's so hot". More and More gossip filled the room as Ant left, but quickly died down as the teacher hushed the crowd.

Ant made his way out the school, he threw out Nimbus's ball quickly and hopped onto his back. Nim took off with speed, Ant didn't want to be late to re-open the store for Lunch. He looked down at the buildings as they passed by. He slightly flashed back to the words that were exchanged to him by Saio, and the many times Lacy dodged and ignored him in one day. He felt his eyes well up, his face became hot. it was if someone had wrapped his head tight in a warm well stitched scarf. His head begun to hurt, and he felt a drop from his eye lead down his cheek. He puffed his chest a little and rubbed his eyes quickly riding them of any salted droplets. Nimbus heard the soft sulk of his trainer from behind him and worriedly glanced back. "I'm okay Nimbus, no worries now" he said as he reached over and rubbed his head and neck. Nimbus cued and softly shifted in the air which caused Ant to chuckle.

Only a couple of minutes passed by and before he knew it Ant had arrived at he shop, Nimbus came to a safe land in front of the store. Ant hoped off of his Pokemon and called him back into his ball. He ran into the store and begun his shift in the shop.

Lacy could just about hear her heart snap in two as Ant oddly ignored her and left the classroom. She stared down, feeling guilt and anger rise in her. Quickly, she buried her palms in her eyes and took a breath. This is what I deserve for ignoring him. It was going to come sooner or later, she spat mentally. At the moment, she wanted to curl up and forget all of her worries. But she couldn’t. This was real life.

When Lacy took her hands away from her eyes, the bell had already rung. She sat in her seat for an extra second before getting up with her backpack. When she looked up, she saw Saio standing before her, a concerned expression on his face. “Hey... are you alright?” he asked gently, and lead her out of the classroom. Lacy blew out a breath of air. “Honestly, I don’t know. I-I...” she trailed off, staring down. Saio stopped her by gently holding his arm out. When she stood still, he cautiously faced her and placed the back of his hand on her forehead. Almost instantly, he yanked his hand back, a bewildered expression on his face, while Lacy’s was dim and tired. “Ah, jeez... you’re really burning up, yknow? Like... badly. Come on. You can’t go the rest of the day like this,” he said, true concern in his eyes. Lacy’s own eyes stung, and her expression became softer and more vulnerable. The next thing she knew, she was idly following Saio down the hall, tears hotly running down her face.

When he took her into the nurse’s office, she sat down on one of the several beds, wiping her eyes. “I’m sorry...” Lacy started, staring down at her feet. “This entire day has been kind of rough. Thank you for being there for me.” Saio smiled, kneeling down before her. “Please, tell me what happened. It pains me... it pains me to see you this way,” he spoke carefully. Lacy nodded before opening her mouth to speak.

“Ant - I’m guessing you know who he is by now - has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. Anyways... I’ve been avoiding him for awhile now because... I just can’t look him in the eyes right now,” she sighed. Saio seemed a bit said at what she said, but nodded. “Now, he’s obviously angry at me because I haven’t been very friendly. And... I don’t think he likes that I’ve been hanging out with you. But... I recently saw him with somebody else, so I don’t really understand.” She seemed frustrated as she spoke. Saio was quiet for a second. He looked directly into Lacy’s eyes, a firm expression on his face. “I understand. I encourage you to make up with him, even if it’s difficult to face him. Because... in the meantime, I hope I can convince you to give me a chance,” he told her, face becoming flushed. He stood up with a smile on his face. “You should go home. It’s not good to stay at school while carrying a fever.” With that, he left the office and head to their class, telling the teacher that Lacy was sick.

Meanwhile, Lacy had just processed what happened. As she realized, her ears grew red, and she was warmer than ever that day. That was a confession... Oh my god. Definitely a confession, she thought rapidly. Lacy sat on the bed for several minutes before slowly standing up with her backpack and heading out the door. Mind racing, she walked down the hall and out of the entrance, where she was greeted by a refreshing gust of chilly air. She smiled lightly at the relief for her heated self, but it quickly faded as she walked slowly to the bus stop. After awhile, it came and Lacy stepped on. Traffic was rather busy, so the ride was slow. On the way to Lacy’s apartment was the shop Ant worked at. About a block before reaching it, Lacy pulled on the little hook above her, signaling she wanted to get off there. She honestly didn’t know why, but she felt that it was right.

The bus let her off, and Lacy absent-mindedly walked down the block. Eventually, she found herself standing before the familiar little shop, eyes stinging once again. She stared at the sign above the door, feeling warm tears pour down her face. Hastily, she wiped them, and turned back down the sidewalk on the way to her apartment. It took her several minutes before arriving home, to which she opened the door, head up the stairs, and entered her own apartment. She slipped off her shoes and bag, then her coat, and shuffled into the living room, where she tossed herself on her couch. Lacy grabbed the nearest pillow and gripped it tightly, burying her face in it with multiple emotions rushing through her mind.

The boy held the crate close to his chest, his back against the wall. His eyes peered around the corner of the door way, towards the giant store front window, It was Lacy. She came to the store, confused Ant stood behind the wall hidden, his eyes were dimmed and he awkwardly took in a deep breath. Once the female left from sight Ant walked out to the counter and sat the box down on the bed. "..she left school early" he said to himself. "Ma-Ma-Machoke" said the muscle builder Pokemon as he entered in from the storage closet with boxes stacked on his shoulder. "Set them there Buster, thank you for the help" he said smiling. Machoke nodded and made his way to the back area, as he made his exit Ant found himself lost in thought again. He absently sorted out the items and restocked what was needed, he had done it so many times he knew which items sold out faster then most and which ones went where on the clearly market shelves. As his searched through the box he felt something soft and fur like. Ant slowly lifted the item from the bag, it had been a Lucario key chain that Mrs O'nani knitted, the cute little fake Pokemon put a smile on his face; of course because thoughts of Lacy and her Lucario streamed along side memories. He shook his head, it wasn't the time to be in thought about what seemed to be his ex friend.

Dusk had started to settle in the distance, time had flown by for Ant. He had a bit of a rush but handled it with diligence, he was accompanied by Rai, Sen, Leaf and Serene; as well as Buster. As Ant wiped down the counters he smiled as Leaf and Rai fell asleep against the front window. They had become close, Ant often caught Leaf trying to snuggle up into Rai's embrace during cold nights. He called them back into their balls and reached for his bag. The soft warmth of the settled Sun won over Ant, he stared at it for a little bit, the ripples in the distance gave the town a sort of desert vibe and he enjoyed those kind of scenes. He closed the door behind him, entered the key and heard the click. Ant begun his journey down a few blocks to his home, the area was quiet just the sound of cars as they drove by and distant chatter from open late restaurants filled the area. As the sun set more, the area turned from a desert orange to a luke dull blue almost black. Each street light flickered on one by one until they illuminated the air. He slide his hands into his hoodie's pockets, they were warm and cozy. One foot in front of another Ant strolled his way to the apartments, he had been debating with himself whether he should make fried rice or curry for dinner and realize he didn't have two ingredients for each of the dishes, luckily on the way home was a grocery store and also a deli for him to visit. Ant stood on the edge of the street, he softly pushed down on the cross walk button, Ant carefully swung himself back and forth on the edge of the side walk as he waited for the light to turn white. Instead of his thoughts wildly obsessing over Lacy, it settled down on the new girl who was constantly in Ant's space today. Michiko was her name, her long dark violet hair was the first thing that caught Ant's mind, "she was a strange one.." he said to himself. Walk said the sign, in bright vibrant white. The boy took his first of many steps to cross the street with a clear path into the store.

In the front lobby were fresh berries, fruits and breads for main marketing attraction, Ant leaned in and gave the assorted berries a quick sniff. His face slightly cringed at the random smells that tickled his nose hairs. Ant's eyes dashed between signs as he searched for curry powder and seafood meat. He read as he picked up different ingredients his mind gathering the mix together to make sure he didn't forget anything. As he walked down the isle, he turned the corner quickly and crashed into someone. This was the second time today he bumped into someone for his careless speed. "Ow.. ow, not again" said a familiar voice. Ant rubbed his head, but over heard the voice say again. He thought to himself someone else with a bad day huh. As he looked up, that unforgettable dark violet hair that was in his mind was in his face and the female from before was in front of him once more. "Oh.. it's you" he said softly. Michiko looked up, her face reddened and a strong smiled crept up on her. "Oh Santana it's you, how funny. Do you live around here?" she asked him. Ant felt a little unsure whether or not he wanted to tell the girl he lived close and that he worked around the area, but he saw no harm in it at the moment. "Yea I live in the Luxra Apartments down the streets" he replied. She smiled and became slightly silent, Ant felt awkward and wanted to move further away from this conversation. "Well I'll see you around then.." he said. Michiko gasped a little and interrupted Ant's mid walk, "Have you eaten today, you left class early I didn't get to ask you if you wanted to have lunch together" she said. Ant didn't see harm in dinner with someone, he explained his idea for curry or fried rice and Michiko smiled. "I was going to make seafood rice tonight too as well" she replied. Ant smiled, he felt okay, not defensive but also not loose around this girl. The enjoyed each others company through out the store as Ant helped her pick out food, ingredients and rice for hers. The female asked Ant many questions like his favourite food and where he caught Sen. Minutes went by and the sun had fully set it was dark and the both of them had left out of the store together. Ant stood on one side and Michiko on the street that lead back to the store. She stared at him for a while then looked down the back at him with a blush, Ant returned her smile with another one. "thanks for the company.. I've been in my head all day" he said to her. Michiko nodded and lightly stroked his arm and replied "You're welcome any time you need company, I stay in those apartments over there" as she pointed to the more pricey looking apartment building. Ant was surprised, Michiko seem to be more well off then him but that didn't change his perspective of her. He waved his goodbyes and begun his walk towards his apartment as he left the female in the distance.

Ant made it up the elevator to his door, He released his team, everyone happy to be home and took position around the tv. Ant smiled as he made his way into the kitchen and begun to wash his hands. The soapy suds cleansing his hands of dirt and outside germs. He begun to cook, the area engulfed in heat and the scent of garlic mixed with fresh Poke blocks. "Time to eat everyone" he said as Ant laid three different plates on the floor. Each with a special ingredient ontop of them and two more plates on the table. Ant sat down on the couch as his Pokémon ate, he flipped through channels as he took spoon fulls of rice into his mouth.

After an hour or two of tv, Ant felt his eyes become heavy. He cleaned his mess and behind his Pokémon who had already took their areas of sleep. Ant sighed as he washed the dishes, with all the commotion and school he didn’t have any time to train with his team today let alone he missed his first day of battle class and rankings. As the water ran, his head filled with the sound of water and the images of a waterfall. He missed the mountains. As he finished the dishes, Ant made his way to his room he flicked on and off his phone. No replies, no calls, no post, his phone was dry. He read through the last few messages Lacy ever replied to Ant before any of this drama. He sunk his head into the pillow and took a deep breath which lead him into a deep sleep.

Lacy sat up from the couch, groggily. She must have fallen asleep for a couple of hours. Sullen, the girl head into her bathroom and leaned over the sink. staring down the drain. After a moment, she opened the cabinet behind the mirror, taking out a bottle of fever syrup, as well as a pill capsule. Hesitantly, she downed a cup and swallowed a couple of pills, before splashing her face with cold water. All she could think about were Ant and Saio. I’ve been confessed to before. A few times. But... this seems different, she wondered, exiting the bathroom. Lacy grabbed her phone from her bag, as well as her Pokéballs. She head into her bedroom, all of the items gathered in her arms.

She let them spill onto her bed, then setting the Pokéballs carefully on her desk beside the bed. Lacy sat down on the bed, beginning to take her jeans and socks off. When she removed them, she let them lay near the foot of the bed, and crawled under covers. It has gotten pretty late, and she needed the rest. However, before she went to sleep, she turned her phone on and entered her messages. Taking a deep breath, she clicked on Ant’s name. Slowly, she began typing. “Goodnight. Get some rest,” was what she wrote. The thought that he was already asleep came into her mind, but she dismissed it, not caring. Lacy hit send, and immediately turned her phone off, setting it on her end table. With that, she burrowed under the covers, dozing off.

Lacy woke up abruptly at her usual time. It was as if an alarm clock was built into her mind. With a yawn, she stumbled out of her bed and into the bathroom. To her surprise, she looked much better from the day before. Her nose was a light red, and the rings under eyes had lessened. Besides all of the thoughts racing in it, her head seemed fine. A bit satisfied, she brushed her hair and threw it into a loose braid. When she went back into her bedroom, she glanced at the window, which seemed to be sporting nice weather. Heading to her closet, she grabbed a pair of maroon skinny jeans, and a grey shirt with shirt sleeves and horizontal white stripes. She tossed them on, then accompanying them with a thin, jean jacket. Lacy put a pair of ankle socks on, rolled her jean cuffs up, then slipped on the same sneakers she wore the day before. When she opened her bag to put her stuff in, her heart sank a bit. In it was the carefully folded sweatshirt from Ant. Lacy took it out, feeling a look of melancholy grow on her face. Careful not to wreck it in any way, she set it on her bed. Underneath it was the breakfast Ant had offered her. It was still pretty fresh, needing only to be refrigerated. She lifted the treats up, then went into the kitchen and set them in the fridge. Lacy sighed, throwing her bag on after putting her Pokéballs and phone in it. Then, she head out the door as usual.

The bus ride to school was normal, and Lacy got off at her stop. She debated on whether or not she should wait for Ant, then unwillingly deciding not to. It tore her apart to do so, but she felt it wasn’t very appropriate, due to the fact that they were both seemingly upset at each other. Hastily, all while staring down at the ground, Lacy walked up the path to the entrance. Because she skipped breakfast, she found herself standing before the vending machine, purchasing a bottle of milk. When she bent down to reach for it, a clearing of a throat sounded behind her. She jumped, obviously startled, and held the bottle close to her. Unsurprisingly, Lacy was staring up at Saio, who had an amused smile on his face. “Sorry! Didn’t mean to spook you,” he said warmly. As Lacy looked at him, all she could think about was his confession from the previous day.

“Uh, uh... it’s fine. I just get startled easily,” Lacy said, an awkward smile on her face. Saio nodded before speaking again. “So, did you and Ant make up yet?” he asked her, his head tilted. Lacy hung her own head. “Ah, no. My fever took time away from me,” she replied, a bit sheepish. After she spoke, all Saio was thinking was, Good. Please... don’t make up with him. I’m here, too. However, he nodded, seemingly understanding.

“I, um, have to go to the bathroom,” Lacy said suddenly, though she didn’t at all. Saio blinked, then laughed and waved her off, telling her to go. Lacy hastily walked away from him, and down the hall to the restroom. She was honestly unsure of why she felt the need to get away from him, but it was too late at that point. Lacy walked slowly when she was out of sight from Saio, sipping her little bottle of milk with a lonely glint in her eyes.

Vibrations shook the bed softly near Ant's head. He had been in a relaxed sleep, the rough vibrations from his phone were softened by the deep cushion of his bed. The sun beams broke through his window and playfully bounced off every surface in his room until they found Ant's exposed eye. Warm and comforting the sun brightened Ant' face, with ease the boy woke up. He kept his head barried in his soft fluffy pillows, he tried to close his eyes but the muffled sound of his phone woke him up furthermore. Ant reached over and picked up his phone, the muffled vibrations quickly changed violently, it had been his alarm. As he flicked open the phone, on top of his alarm was a message from Lacy. Ant cocked his eyebrow up and lingered on the main screen. He wondered what she wanted, She didn't want to talk to him before so what made her change her mind. He stopped his lingering emotion and opened the message; Goodnight, get some rest. Ant squeezed the phone a little, he threw it down with force and lifted himself from off the bed. Why would she only text him goodnight and not the actual reason why she had been the way she was. Ant didn't hesitate, he was angry and he could feel it for real now, his body was more warm and his head had been pounding. His eyes came to a dim glare as he reached for Serene, Nimbus and Sen's ball. He walked slightly out of his door; in his underwear, he held their balls in his head firmly and called them back with anger in his voice. Rai and Leaf were still asleep, he didn't need them today, not today.

Ant got ready, he threw on his vintage blue jeans that cuffed his leg, fitted as usual. He looked into his closet and took out his old rope belt, the one he had on all through out his childhood and memories with Lacy. He was serious, he had enough of the games and silence, his mind was set on battle that was the only way he could get through his stubborn best friend. "You're playing games.." he said to himself. He grabbed one of his shirts, but did not put it on instead he threw it into his backpack. His body athletic cut from the morning wake, his muscles toned and his abs defined, his collar bone exposed and his v-cut lined, Ant was a spitting model of bruno his mentor. He placed on his shoes, his old pair that were kinda beat up like his pants and belt. Lacy would know just by his appearance that he was serious. He gathered his bag and rushed out the door, he didn't have time for delay he had to get there before the bell, before anything could stop him from this battle.

Ant quickly dashed out the house, he turned locked his door and bolted down the stairs, almost as fast a quick attack. He jumped down stairs and over rails until he reached the floor. He sprinted, his heart beat raced, but his body was cool and trained. His braids bounced side to side and up and down sporadically. Past the shop, quickly around corners until he could see the school in the distance, Ant searched for a clock of any sort around him, his eyes set upon the giant clock at the entrance of the mall, he only had forty minutes before the bell. Ant could only hear his heart beat, he reached into his bag and grabbed Nimbus's ball, he needed his help. Ant leaped into the air and threw his monster ball high into the sky. "BUUUUUUR!" screeched the Altaria. Nimbus with great speeds soared underneath Ant. The trainer grabbed the fluff of his bird Pokemon and pulled himself onto his back. "Quick Nimbus, extreme speed" he commanded. The Pokemon clenched it's body before he stretched into great lengths, Ant held on tight, he gripped a good portion of Nimbus's fluff.

As Ant and Nimbus approached the school, Nimbus instinctively went towards the spot Lacy and Ant always met at, but she was no where to be seen. Ant scanned the area, nothing. "Nimbus, quickly circle the campus" he prompted. Nimbus nodded and begun his soar around the building, the irregular flight pattern caused a commotion within the students on the outside of the building. Ant grew impatient, he directed Nimbus to the floor which he hopped off his Pokemon and called him back into his ball; attached him to strand of belt that hung down by his leg. Ant with purpose, walked his way into the school, the students followed behind him, in a light commotion. Ant hadn't noticed his attention was focused on Lacy, he needed to find her quick. As he paced his walk, he saw Saio. Ant glared him down and acknowledged him, but didn't give him conversation, just a flare of hardened hazel eyes. As Ant traveled down the halls, he caught sight of Lacy further down the end of the hall around the bathroom. "LACY!" he shouted. Ant's deepened voice echoed loud in a slightly known crowded hall. He walked towards her anger in ever step, the sight of her bulked his chest up more, he could feel it tighten and his heart race with the sight of her face.
What seemed like forever was only a couple of seconds. Ant stood in front of Lacy, his eyes grew hotter the more he looked down at his friend, but his demeanor was calm. He held Serene's ball out, towards Lacy's face. "Battle me.. right now" he commanded, the way he spoke he wasn't going to take no for an answer. A crowd slowly surrounded him and Lacy, but in his mind it was only the two of them, no one else.

Ant walked passed Lacy, a paid of outside doors soon swung open with the force of Ant's push. He held them both open and turned to her with the notion of her to follow.

Lacy stopped in her tracks as her name was angry called out. It was an all too familiar voice that made her already sore heart stop. The event that occurred next almost swept Lacy off her feet. A battle? Right now? Jesus, he’s really pissed, she thought as he stormed out the doors. Lacy’s cold eyes narrowed and followed him after a moment. She walked along the path, hands in her pockets. The ever growing crowd of people surrounded the two, making Lacy rather annoyed. She stood several feet away from Ant, heart beating quickly. Truthfully, she was quite nervous. He was quick and commanding, not letting her even consider to turn down the battle.

Lacy silently reached in her bag, grabbing a specific ball. The crowd hushed, realizing this wasn’t a friendly type of battle. Lacy tossed the ball forward, and Xyler burst out, just a silent as his trainer. The girl and her Pokémon were all too similar, both being incredibly alike in emotions. Xyler scuffed the ground with his foot. He didn’t even question the thought of fighting Lacy’s long-known friend; all he knew was that he was determined to win for his trainer.

Meanwhile, Lacy stood stiffly, awaiting Ant to choose his Pokémon. Lacy glanced to her right, seeing Saio standing there with a somewhat determined appearance, as if to tell her, You can do this. Lacy merely turned her gaze back to Ant, eyes still narrowed. Though she looked calm and ready to battle, her emotions were tearing her apart. I didn’t want it to be like this... she inwardly whimpered.

Ant crossed his arms as he waited for Lacy's Pokemon, he stared down his friend. He watched as she held her hand in his Pockets when she made her way to her side of the bed. The crowd grew bigger, two rank ones about to begin battle, was something to watch for new students and older students alike. This was also the perfect time for the school to take advantage of Lacy's and Ant's drama. Ant's eyes wandered around the crowd, in the back of Lacy he saw Saio, with a determent face on for Lacy, but next to Saio was Michiko. She sat there with her eyes set on Ant, which made him feel slightly eased.

Lacy threw out Xyler, he scuffed his foot hard on the floor when he entered. Ant stared the Pokemon hopefully Xyler could tell how confused and Lonely Ant was. He held his ball in his hand, It was Serene's ball. One of the strongest Pokemon in his team, he looked over at Lacy. He wanted her to feel him, he kept his his sights on her, and was hesitant not to stray. Look at me Lacy, .. please.. I miss you.. I'm alone and Upset you left me for someone new.. I don't even know what happened.. he said in his mind. Ant's mind went dark, he wasn't a stranger to depression it often crept up on him time and time, but Lacy was his light. One of his three closes friends and he didn't want to lose her this way.

Ant threw out the ball, out came Serene, his Chandelure. The Lamp Pokemon swayed side to side, her telekinesis sensed that Ant had a soft pain in his heart as he stared at Lacy. The Pokemon, shifted from battle and made her way to Ant. The trainer looked up at the Pokemon, without a change in expression. He placed his hand on her forehead and she soaked in his feelings. She turned around and returned to her side of the field, she erupted in a battle ready roar. "Flamethrower" commanded Ant. With a bend and stretch of her candles, Serene let out a deathly eruption of hot lava in a beam towards Xyler.

Before the battle started, Xyler suddenly blinked at Ant, then whipped his head at Lacy with somewhat wide eyes. Lacy grimly stared down at her Lucario, understanding that he had just read Ant’s aura. Lacy’s jealousy sparked further as she saw Ant look at that same girl from the previous day. Then, the battle commenced.

Flamethrower,” was the command that came from Ant. Sure enough, Serene whipped up a burning stream of hot fire, directing it at the Lucario. “Xyler,” Lacy said simply. He understood, and rolled out of the way, then jumping back up without any tire. “Bone rush,” Lacy ordered blankly. For a second, she found herself staring directly into Ant’s eyes. She saw the obvious melancholy in his eyes, causing her to step back slightly. The girl was hoping he could see her own pain.

Xyler sprinted up at Serene, pulling a bone from, seemingly, the ground. He jumped to Serene’s height, whipping the bone at her rapidly. Lacy’s eyes faltered, and fell to her feet, eyebrows slightly furrowed. She didn’t want to fight. This is my fault, she thought solemnly, then rubbing her stinging eyes. Afterwards, her hands fell to her sides as she watched the match.

Ant watched ass Xyler begun his counter attack. He jumped back, slightly he skitted away from the Flamethower. Bone Rush commanded Lacy to her Lucario. Ant saw through the battle, he looked deep into Lacy's eyes until she dropped her sight to her feet. His body flared up and he clenched his hands. "LACY LOOK AT THE BATTLE PAY ATTENTION!" he shouted from across the field. He leaned forward and watched Xyler as he sprinted towards Serene. He pulled his bone from the ground, the earth split as it ran through it. Xyler jumped high into the air, almost Serene level. "Serene! Shadow ball!" he commanded, Serene went head to head with Xyler for a while, shadow ball after shadow ball, Xyler batted away the attack, dodging it as they came. It reminded him of baseball, he studied each move.

Ant stared back at Lacy, he wanted her to not look down anymore, to not look away from him. He sighed and continued his attack, not letting up. "Serene solar beam!" he said. Chandelure rushed down Xyler, he clenched hard and let out a powerful grass type attack, in Xyler's face. Ant held his head. Lacy wasn't focused her eyes had still wondered on him. "Why can't you take this battle seriously! What did I do Lacy!?" he asked her. A clear strain in his voice as he spoke, his emotions all over the place. He looked to her side and saw Saio again. He turned his attention back to Lacy. "Please Lacy say something, what did I do? why did you text me that message last night? do you not want to be friends anymore? just say so! don't send me on these circles, don't give me these new emotions and not act on it" he said as a cloud of smoke surrounded the field. Ant had forgotten there were people around them. Some chatter begun to stir up in the crowd.

Lacy lifted her head as Ant shouted at her across from the battle. “Tch...” she muttered, chest sore. “I’m... I’m not about to talk about this right now. Don’t you get it? Are you really that oblivious?” Lacy snapped back, clenching her fists. Angrily, she closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose, then opened her eyes icily once again. The crowd began murmuring around them, beginning to gossip. Several of the people in the group whispered to each other, understanding what Lacy was getting at.

Xyler took the Solar Beam rather tough, and ended up being pushed back forcefully after taking the blow. He grunted, falling onto one knee before standing back up. “Dark Pulse,” Lacy said coldly. Xyler moves his hands in a peculiar fashion, before dark waves emitted from him. They began spreading quickly around the field, coming fastest at Serene. Xyler grunted, eyes narrowing at his opponent. Lacy did a similar action, directed at Serene as well.

Anger was bubbling and rising in Lacy. She hadn’t been looking him in the eye for a reason. Her heart beat faster, feelings extremely mixed as she met his gaze. Somewhat bravely, she stayed in his eyes, not backing down. It was hard for her, but she was sick of the avoiding that was going on between them. Once more, her fists clenched, and her nails dig into her palms. When she opened them, dark, red marks were left in her hands, beginning to bleed lightly. She paid no attention to it, however, and icily watched Ant and the battle that took place before her.
