• A reminder: If you want to ask an RP thread creator if you can join their RP, do so in private - via conversation or profile messages - or via the thread's discussion thread, if one exists. Do NOT ask if you can join an RP on the RP thread itself! This leads to a lot of unnecessary OOC chatter and that's not what the RP boards are for.

"See what I mean? It's to stop stuff like this from happening. I hate that kinda stuff. I mean, I know he's from the shadow guard, but still, that's no reason to treat him like that."

"You don't know them like I do." Thunderblade said. "Or you would be doing the same thing." He turned back to the man. "I repeat myself, and I never repeat myself. TALK."

Xiuhcoatl shot a venomous glare up at his target and opponent. He had heard rumours of what that marking on the innards of his sleeve was capable of. He raised his hands, showing him his two daggers, before carefully sheathing them by his hips.
"I am Xiuhcoatl Mirsoff, low ranking assassin of the Shadow Guard," he began in a level tone. His shoulders were rigid, his chin up. His eyes never left the brand. "There are no others with me. I was separated from my group on a scouting mission. At the base of this foothill, a mile or so away, is where the others are stationed."

"Gah, these people." Kaisa flew upwards, until he'd reached approximately the same height as the city he'd been banished from, and let out a shrill cry, a bit like a robin. A dark shape appeared on the horizon, nearly instantly, and began to grow, until you could make out the shape of a bird. It was about the size of a truck, and looked a bit like an eagle with a falcon's head and talons, but the change was seamless, making it look natural. It went up to Kaisa, who stroked it's neck, and said "Hey, Aarivani. It's been a long time. Now I'm stuck down here, I can see you more often. And I wouldn't go down there. Those guys don't really like creatures like you." The Giaropha nodded his head, and Kaisa climbed onto his back, turning off his thrusters.

He crossed his arms over his pompous chest indignantly, his narrow eyes reminiscent of the beady glare of a vulture. He felt like a cornered animal, sitting in wait for its chance to run free. Xiuhcoatl shook his head.
"Like they'd tell anything to someone like me," he replied coldly, the undertone of a scoff beneath the words. "Only the higher-ups are allowed to possess information like that. There was one with me, but, like I said, we were separated."

"Typical. This is all these guys do, isn't it. Lie and fight. What you'd expect from us, eh?" Aarivani ruffled her wings in agreement. "Hey, how about a flyby?" She grinned (if that's what you can call it) and dived down, swooping over their heads and screeching, before flying up again.

Thunderblade glared at the Shadow Guard member... and relaxed as his Thunder Brand dimmed and the electricity vanished from his hand. "Essentially, you're useless. Just great. Let's get going before his comrades get here." He put his trench coat back on and started to walk.

Aldrich had been in Blake's shadow the whole time, waiting the whole time for the moment to use his position to it's best use. He exited now, behind Xiuhcoatl. "We should take him with us. He might run to his superiors and reveal our location." He said. He took a look at Xiuhcoatl. He resolved to keep an eye on him, as there was something about him that he didn't like.

He nearly fell over at the sudden voice behind him, forgetting that he was glued to the spot and attempting to jump into a protective position nonetheless. He scowled over his shoulder and gave the speaker a onceover, gloved hands on his hips.
It was his fourth day on the job and he was already being taken as a hostage? His pride felt mortally wounded that the idea was even voiced. Xiuhcoatl remained stubbornly silent, refusing to acknowledge his own faults leading up to the situation.

Thunderblade stopped and turned. "That is a viable idea, but he could just as easily ambush us from behind. He knows about us, and if we take him with us it wouldn't be that hard to try and kill me... or him." he said, glancing at Blake. "Note that I said TRY. I'm not going down that easily, and I need him. However, fighting would both slow us down AND attract the Shadow Guard to our position."

"There really isn't much choice: either take him hostage and risk him attacking us, or let him go and risk him going back to his superiors and telling them that he knows where we're going AND what we look like," Blake said while walking over to Xiuhcoatl, his Deathblade still drawn. It made a low humming noise and let of a red glow since it was still charged from their previous battle. "There is the option of just downright killing him, but I feel like he could be useful later, so I vote we should keep him close. I'm pretty sure I can take his daggers and keep them in a relatively out-of-reach place. Someone else can make sure he doesn't try anything."

"I'd take risk no.2. Even if they know what we look like, they don't know our location. If you we get out of here quickly, they won't be able to locate us."

"Yes, let's go," Blake said while moving over to confiscate Xiuhcoatl's daggers, making sure to keep his Deathblade a bit too close for comfort. He leaned over and said to Xiuhcoatl, "You know, even though I voted to keep you alive, I won't have any problem silencing you if you get out of line."

"Will do." Aldrich said. He took out his bottle, and drank a draft. He needed full magic to do his 'babysitting' strategy. He cracked his knuckles, and entered Xiuhcoatl's shadow. This way, whatever Xiuhcoatl did, he would know.

The pale vigilante winced only slightly when his weapons were taken from him, feeling naked without them quite literally by his sides. His eyes bore holes in the boy who took them, mouth knurled into a silent quarrel.
Despite his abrasive and venomous charisma, his hands went to his posterior, palpating the leather hooks that had held his sheathes in place anxiously. He had little idea of how to escape his place of activity without upsetting one of his many captors. All he had to hold on to was the hope that one of them would at least thaw out his feet and pray that the witch with the comically sized scythe had only held him in place and hadn't frozen the tissue, bones, and fat of his feet in the process. He didn't particularly like the thought of being discharged for being an amputee immediately after joining the Shadow Guard.
Although he was shorter and younger, the boy who had taken his daggers tried his hand at threatening the assassin. Xiuhcoatl responded by leaning his head down to the former prince's level, a knowing look in his ashen eyes.
"Don't worry," he spat in a low voice - much too low for none but those in the closest vicinity of him to hear. "I don't plan on dying to even you, young lord."

Blake looked at Xiuhcoatl with a stern gaze. "I don't plan on letting you off, either. The Shadow Guard is a place for people who didn't want to accept te new life that was presented to them, a life of peace and order. A place where you could reject your previous life and create a new one. The Shadow Guard is a place where people too afraid to change meet and live under the tyranny of the man who ruined countless lives, including mine. Anyone who follows his orders is someone I don't have a problem with injuring." His Ocular Guise flickered for a moment, revealing his one black eye, then replacing it with the neon green that so many people knew him for.

Xiuhcoatl discredited his words indifferently, straightening his rigid shoulders.
"I have reasons you couldn't begin to understand," he replied vacantly, brow furrowed. He held an arm out over his own chest and propped an elbow atop it, holding his chin up with a gloved fist. "Don't make assumptions. You'll seldom know anything about me just by generalizing."

"Maybe so," Blake responded, "But don't try to make assumptions about me, either. My father tried to raise me to be a tyrant like him, but my mother made sure that that wouldn't happen. I would never join him, so if you're going to try to take me to him, just know that he would be very angry to see how I've grown up to be not like him. Although, I don't think you'll be able to take me back, anyways." He walked away and over to Kathleen. "Do you have the ability to unfreeze Spots back there? It would be kind of hard to escort him if he couldn't walk."

"Not necessarily." Thunderblade said, taking out his longsword and transforming it into Scythe mode. He slashed twice, separating the ice block from the ground and slashing the ice in half. However, the ice was still stuck to the man's feet. "There."

Xiuhcoatl let the boy's words digest and held his tongue, letting his arms fall back to his sides.
"Try to have some originality," he countered, his voice showing the slight inflection of exasperation. "They call me Kevin in the Guard since my name would be too hard to say in a tactical situation. If you're going to call me anything that's not my name, call me that."
His original target, the man who called himself Thunderblade, moved his scythe much too quickly for Xiuhcoatl to react. He looked down at himself with an expression that was acutely disgusted, but mostly aggrieved.
"Oh, of course, this is much better," he discharged.

Blake laughed at Kevin's obvious aggravation at his new situation. He looked towards Kevin as said, "No offense, I would have laughed at anyone in that situation."
