Private/Closed Eden (A mech rp!)

Bear with me guys, massive info dump.

Okay the premise for this roleplay is that sometime in the future two nations are at war. Not on Earth though, no, at this point in the future earth is no longer the only habitable planet, humanity had to expand into the stars in an effort to sustain its population. So now we inhabit Earth, Mars, the moon and many other planets and celestial bodies. This Rp will be located on the fictional planet of Eden, the first one to be made habitable outside of the Milky Way. It has an atmosphere very similar to Earth’s own and as such it is covered in oceans made of water and has lush forests. Since our arrival it has been terraformed heavily so it resembles Earth even more, species that were once native only to our home now live here. Alien habitats such as fungi forests still exist in huge numbers but we have evergreens and the like as well. Two countries have formed here, Aikvo (The one our characters will belong to.) and Bilden. Both are huge, bigger than any on earth. Anyway now that is done with I can explain the whole point of this Rp.

Bilden declared war on Aikvo. It was out of the blue, the two nations had no reason to quarrel over anything so it came as a surprise to the populations of both countries. This far in the future counter measures to missiles are so effective that nukes are kinda useless so a lot of the fighting is done on the ground. So what better way than to fight a ground war than with GIANT MECHS. Ahem. So basically the RPers are recruits from different organisations forced to fight in a losing war due to the fact most mech pilots are already dead. These different organisations are all under contract from the government so that’s why they are working together. There may be a little bit of a competitive side to the fact these new recruits come from different companies so just bare that in mind.

So now for a little more world building. At this point in the future highly sophisticated androids exist that are practically alive, and fulfil roles such as bus drivers, garbage men and police officers. Government stuff. Treated a little like second citizens honestly. The capital of Aikvo is Iron city, a sprawling metropolis that is a breath-taking mix of technology and nature. Trees sprout from between towering sky scrapers and several rivers run through it. This is where the mech pilot training centre will be. The programme is called C.A.M.P (Combat approved mech programme).

So let’s get to the bit everybody cares about! The giant fighting robots! So first off you'll have your light mechs, the smallest around and because of this the most agile. They have little armour so can't take as many bullets as the other mechs but the lack of armour is what makes them so mobile. They aren't as strong as heavy or middle class mechs but aren't exactly weak and can still hold their own when it comes to a fight. These mechs are often kitted out with extra mobility options such as jump jets and wings to allow for limited flight or what are essentially giant retractable rollerblades for improved speed on the ground. Light mechs are best suited to sniper or hit and run roles in which they come into as little direct fire as possible so either long range or CQB weapons work best.

I need to make a proper name for these mech classes....middle mech is the worst name ever. Paladins? Sure we'll stick with that for the middle weight ones. Paladin mechs are great all rounders, they have enough armour to tank bullets with relative ease and can still get about the place pretty swiftly. Paladin's can be specialised in so many ways I couldn't possibly list them all but this is what XR-14 is so she is one example.

Heavy mechs....let’s see....Rooks. So these big boys are pretty damn slow and generally lumber around the battlefield at a leisurely pace. They are still dexterous and can jump, climb, dodge, etc there just not as good at it as a light mech. Which also need a name...Shrikes. Anyway Rooks are basically walking tanks and can take missiles and bullets without breaking a sweat. They are also the strongest in that they can use the most heavy weight equipment such as mortars. Often equipped with things such as deployable cover or forms or hard light shields.

They don’t even run on nuclear, too risky, these things run on micro fuel cells which contain tiny worm holes generating energy. Harmless enough when destroyed, small explosions and all that.

All mechs communicate with their pilots via neuro transmissions so if you think about jumping while in it that is exactly what they will do, if you think about running your mech will run. You get the idea.

Pilots will be trained in combat of course, and are the elite of the elite.

So let’s get down to the bit where you can fit in! Here is a character sheet to fill in, have fun. Mine are here as an example of what to expect.

Okay here are mine!

Name: Fletcher Blair

Age: 19

Height: 5ft 10

Appearance: Short dark brown hair that is cut to military standards. Athletic as all pilots should be, not like a body builder but like a solider. He has angular eyebrows that allow him to give quite a scowl. He has a broad smile, one that his mother always argued was his best feature. He has broad shoulders that he shares with all the males in his family and strong arms that come from a life time of hard training. Despite not being that tall he looks sturdy enough to compare with those larger.

Personality: Fletcher is a right firecracker, always ready to argue his point and easily set off by insults. That’s not to say he is an asshole, he is perfectly sweet and kind until you piss him off, as reasonable as just any other guy. His fiery outbursts also usually have quite short fuses, he struggles to stay mad without a real reason. Fletcher has a strong moral compass that he acts on a lot during training exercises, often putting the other people’s lives before his own and the mission at hand, a trait that his mech “X” often struggles to comprehend.

Mech organisation: Eirecho ballistics.

Weapons (A primary and a secondary): A thermite shotgun and a standard issue semi-automatic pistol. He has knuckledusters built into his armour as well.

History and family: I’ll do it later as I have a lot to write XD

Armour (We will all fill this in later when I bring it up J )

Official name: XR-14 (Nicknamed X)

Company: Eirecho ballistics.

Weight: 40 metric tonnes.

Height: 23ft

Overview: A medium armour variant mech with a heavy fire based arsenal that excels at close to medium range combat.

Weaponry: Primary weapons are dual flamethrowers mounted on XR-14's wrists, capable of hitting targets that are 50 feet away. On the back of XR-14's hands are a row of barrels capable of firing out thermite in a shotgun like way. Utility includes the ability to heat hands to extreme temperatures so that they can be used to melt through metal and other structures, a "Limpet" bomb (This would be deployed manually and basically attaches to something and burns though it before blowing up and smoke bombs.

A.I: Xr-14 has taken a female persona and is already strongly linked to her pilot. "She" has displayed resourcefulness and the ability to work both independently and in a pair with extreme skill. Is still having problems understanding morals but is learning slowly from her Pilot. (Side notes: XR-14 has been known to be excessively violent when dealing with foes, tests are being run to see if she has undergone some kind of personality change that has led to this competitive nature.)

@MegaAbsol

Yes! This has been something I've been wanting, but never been able to put together myself! Consider me interested. I'll get to work on my sheet as we speak.

...

Awesome~!

So, I have a few questions regarding the Mechs.
1. Are the Mechs from the same company the pilot works for? Since you gave them a 'class' Shrikes, Paladins and Rooks. Or is that just a generalized name so pilots from other companies know what 'class' of Mech they're dealing with?

2. Do you have a general height to weight ratio. Or an 'average' weight for each class Mech?

3. Since the Mechs have A.I. then can act independent from their pilot, but let's say the A.I. does something the pilot disagrees with. Is the neural transmission able to override the A.I.?

For example: The Mech's A.I. refuses to jump due to whatever reason, can the pilot force the Mech into jumping by using the neural transmission?

Okay I'll do my best via phone to answer you.
1. Your mech will be of the same company your pilot works for. Shrikes, Rooks and Paladin's are general weight classes. For example X is a Paladin but from Eirecho Ballistics.
2. X is a pretty average weight Paladin class mech. Shrikes and Rooks are about 5-10 tonnes around her weight respectively. With Shrikes obviously being 5-10 tonnes lighter and Rooks the same but heavier.
3. The neural link is only actually active whilst the pilot is in the mech. The pilot will be in control whilst inside but if the mech A.I felt the need pressing enough it could override pilot controls. Like if the situation was likely to be fatal it could eject the pilot without their command.

Name: Halt Quadron

Age: 19

Height: 6'3

Appearance: Tall but fit. He is quite muscular and worked as a mechanic for mechs before. He wears a long shirt with blue jeans. Halt has an earphone that contacts directly to his AI

Personality: Halt likes pushing the rules to the limits. He doesn't mind breaking rules to make something work, and isn't scared of mortal damage. But he is quite prepared anyway.

Mech organisation: (His father is the owner) HyperSpace Mechanisms

History and family (Optional): His father owns HyperSpace Mechanisms. He worked for him instead of going to normal school, so mechs are second nature to him. He owns his own personal mech for when he is prepared to use it properly.

Mech bio template:

Offical name: DeltaX17 (Or as Halt calls it, Delta)

Company: HyperSpace Mechanisms

Weight: 7.8 tons

Height: 22 feet high.

Overview: It looks quite lightweight. It is made of a new material, light but strong. Not overly strong, but stronger than titanium. Halt runs it inside the head, but his AI takes the body itself.

Weaponry: He has a mining laser on his left shoulder. His right arm holds an energy axe on it, with an EMP blaster on it. Normally, this isn't allowed, but Halt has added on a pure cannon, able to shove about 30 tons.

A.I: The AI is called Alex. Alex is the one who helps Halt remember the rules, but has little control of Halt himself. He is little known, but runs on Halt's same mindset using the earpiece inplanted in Halt's head.

Gonna have to turn you down I'm afraid, I'm looking for good grammar and you messed up several times in your bio. Sorry mate :)

So, I managed to get a lot done today, but I'm out of time for now. While my pilot's sheet isn't quite finished yet, I would like you to take a look at my Mech, if you would. I'd like to know if I need to change anything before I continue with the pilot.

Mech Bio.
Official Name:
(A)MS Stalker Panzer-MII
Nickname: Scope
Company: Garland Industries
Weight: 23 metric tonne (excluding the GI39 “Vortex” weapon system)
Height: 19 feet and 8 inches (approximately 600 cm)
Overview: A light armour variant Mech excelling at maneuverability, camouflage and long-ranged combat. Sacrificing protection for maneuverability, this Mech performs below average in close and medium range combat.

Weaponry
Primary:
The GI-SR39 “Vortex” is a long-range, Mech operated, tactical precision weapon system for the purpose of antipersonnel, antimech as well as neutralizing equipment and hardware. The GI39 is a bolt-action sniper rifle, fitted with a telescopic sight connected to the Mech-unit, providing visuals for the A.I. as well as the pilot. Meant for high accuracy over long distances and equipped with 105 mm diameter HVAP (high-velocity armour-piercing) shells as well as the option to be equipped with 115 mm diameter HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) shells.

Secondary: The GIAC is an A.I. controlled system steering a multitude of camouflage technologies allowing for the equipped Mech to blend into its surroundings by using an electro-receptive coating capable of changing both color and luminosity. The coating takes a few minutes to completely change color to match its surrounding and is most, if not only, effective when the Mech remains stationary for a prolonged period of time.

A.I.
(A)MS Stalker Panzer-MII
’s A.I. Unit has taken on a male persona and seemingly only responds to commands from his pilot. Having displayed a headstrong and analytic ‘personality’ as well as a preference to function independently from his pilot. A.I. Unit appears to dislike openly displayed emotion as he does not see the ‘practical use’ of it and thus deems it unnecessary.

That's great mate, keep up the good work :D

I'll be uploading bios for a few NPC's today, starting with this one.

Name: Sasaki Michio

Age: 19

Height: 6ft 4

Appearance: Of Asian heritage Sasaki has icy blue eyes and a short mess of black hair. His skin is pale and he has an impressive physique, large muscles a clear indicator of his strength. Sasaki strikes an intimidating figure between his height, musculature and ability to give an incredibly stern look.

Personality: Serious, duty bound and patriotic. Sasaki knows how to make tough decisions and has unwavering loyalty, basically the perfect solider. He has a softer side as well, he grew up the oldest of 5 siblings and looked after each and every one of them.

Mech organisation: Basingo Armoury

Weapons: A standard issue military grade assault rifle with various attachments such as a red dot, laser sight and drum magazine. He also carries a large combat knife and equally impressive handgun with another last sight on it.

Official name: FR7-AA1

Company: Basingo Armoury

Weight: 50 metric tonnes

Height: 32ft

Overview: FR7-AA1 is a heavily armoured Rook classification mech, equipped with an incredibly versatile kit designed to mimic the adaptable nature of a human solider.

Weaponry: Literally a scaled up version of his pilot’s kit, including massive grenades, a combat knife and handgun. Unlike his pilot though FR7-AA1 can produce a bubble shield capable of sizes up to 60 meters across.

A.I: Known by all as Rho, this A.I is the perfect match for his pilot. Both put duty before all else, working in a deadly team to take down foes. When asked to describe itself the A.I replied with “Curious”. Rho has shown interests in examining human psyches, particularly that of Sasaki. Rho refers to itself as a male and has taken steps to make this seem more authentic by acquiring a deep and gravelly voice.

Welp, this is delayed. Here's a rather short bio >_<

Name: Nyx Venerria

Age: 19

Height: 5’5

Appearance: With a charming heart-shaped face set with short black hair and smouldering cobalt eyes, Nyx can appear difficult to approach. She's got a slight Asian look to her, with curving, upturned cat-like eyes and a small mouth set in pristine white skin. Her general physique is slender and muscular from her athletic tendencies. She's quite agile, and well-versed in three forms of hand-to-hand combat.

Personality: Unwilling to let most people close, Nyx can appear closed off or uncaring, expending little effort in trying to make friends. Most of her relations are due to common interests, so what friends she does have, she cherishes fiercely. She can be fun to spend time with, fairly cheerful and sporty if one takes the effort to know her. She is fiercely competitive, and due to intensive participation in sports, is very athletic (despite her relatively short height). She can be aggressive at times, but her anger diminishes quicker than it rises. Big on sweets, her sweet tooth ensures her utmost loyalty if you offer her some chocolate or ice cream (the latter drives her a little crazy; she loves it). Nyx can be naive at times, and usually rather blunt, but at the same time, she's also sensitive to others' sentiments. She has a fierce sense of justice, and an undying respect for the fine arts.

Mech organisation: Apollo Heuro Tanks

History and family (Optional): (Maybe I’ll return to this later ;; sorry Neb, bear with me)

Mech Bio Template:

Official name: MA-617 (nicknamed 'Beast' due to character's odd sense of humor)
Company: Apollo Heuro Tanks
Weight: 96 metric tonnes
Height: 36 feet
Overview: A heavy-set tank with high defenses that serves as front row battering ram, or wall to take some hits. Can also act as back support.
Weaponry: Right hand has been modified into an enormous, high calibre machine gun that belts out thousands of bullets in a minute. Left arm has a giant fibreglass (?) shield mounted on it, light yet durable, and can be used for ramming or hitting. The shield is fireproof and can deflect bullets to a certain point. Also has a small arsenal of grenades which eject themselves with adjustable trajectory. Due to its high functionality, the gatling gun can't be used for more than a minute at a stretch, requiring a 15-minute cooldown afterwards. Packs two UGM-133 Trident ll missiles, one of the few mechs heavy set and specialized enough to carry them. Missiles are still experimental, and inaccurate.
A.I: A straight-laced 'male' AI that grudgingly accepts the name of Beast (logically it fits, given the mech), it tends to be a more independent AI, often anticipating actions or making sound decisions solo. Accepts most orders unquestioningly, albeit the rest are followed with a sound of stiff disapproval. Very inquisitive, MA-617 loves to learn more about their pilot, as a ways of getting better acquainted, and is quickly learning about humor and picking up on sarcasm. 'He' also tends towards patience more than making rash or hasty decisions.

Other: Nyx carries food everywhere. In her pockets, in her mech, in her bag. It’s difficult getting rid of all of them since she hides them from people (but will share with anyone who asks!)
She often has to carry cooling liquid around in her mech for her high-maintenance bot.

I finished the Pilot, and made some adjustments to the sheet of Scope (who is now called Herald).
Aaaand now that I've copy-pasted it into PokeCharms I come to realize I might have overdone it.

Well, here we go!

Pilot Bio.
Full Name:
Angelina Trigg
Nickname: Angel
Age: Twenty-two (22) years old
Height: 5 feet and 7 inches (approximately 170cm)
Appearance: Natural blonde. Shoulder length, choppy and layered hair with side-swept bangs. Eye color is an icy blue with gray-blue rings marking the edges of the iris. She usually has a very determined and confident look to her. Her physique doesn’t appear to be very sturdy, as she looks very slender on top of her overall straight body shape, but looks can be deceiving. Mainly her core and legs are very strong, due to being a longtime practitioner of both yoga and ballet, though her arms are somewhat lacking in comparison.

Personality:
Angel means well, overall at least, but the way she acts and speaks often strikes people as a headstrong ‘know-it-all’ and trying to have a conversation with her can become annoying very quickly if you don’t know what you’re talking about. People talking ‘big game’ about something they barely know a thing about is her biggest pet peeve and she will call those people out on it in the most belittling tone. Just be modest and truthful and you’ll see she’s very easy-going.
Angel has an obscenely creative mind and can make something out of anything. She’s a quick and critical thinker, but also a complete scatterbrain at times. It all depends on whether or not her hands can keep up with her mind. If not, things will become a mess quickly.

Mech organization:
Garland Industries

Weaponry

Primary:
The GI-AP22 “Surge” is a short to medium range semi-automatic pistol for the purpose of antipersonnel as well as neutralizing equipment and hardware. The GI-AP22 comes equipped with a 12-round magazine as well as an additional single-charge attachment underneath the barrel that generates a short-ranged, high-voltage electrical charge capable of deactivating electrical equipment by triggering the fuse or circuit breaker.

Secondary: The GI-AK9 “Gust” is a tactical precision combat knife for the purpose of close quarters combat and swift eliminations. The GI-AK9 is a 12 inch combat knife, fitted with a 6.85 inch diamond cross-section shaped blade and a canister of highly pressurized carbon dioxide hidden within the hilt. When the blade of the GI-AK9 is injected into a target the safety of the canister can be manually released, expelling the pressurized carbon dioxide into the target though the hollow tip of the blade. This creates an ‘air pocket’ large enough to inflate and rupture most vital organs from the inside out.

(Note: Once released the canister will expel the entirety of its contents, requiring the canister to be replaced with a new one before another air pocket can be created.)

History & Family
(W.I.P.)

Mech Bio.
Official Name:
(A)MS Stalker Panzer-MII
Nickname: Herald
Company: Garland Industries
Weight: 22 metric tonne (excluding the GI-SR39 “Tempest” weapon system)
Height: 19 feet and 8 inches (approximately 600 cm)
Overview: A light armour variant Mech excelling at maneuverability, camouflage and long-ranged combat. Sacrificing protection for maneuverability, this Mech performs below average in close and medium range combat.

Weaponry

Primary:
The GI-SR39 “Tempest” is a long-range, Mech operated, tactical precision weapon system for the purpose of antipersonnel, antimech as well as neutralizing equipment and hardware.
The GI-SR39 is a bolt-action sniper rifle, fitted with a telescopic sight connected to the Mech-unit, providing visuals for the A.I. as well as the pilot. Meant for high accuracy over long distances and can be adjusted to fire shells ranging from 100 mm to 133 mm in diameter, including but not limited to;
o (Standard GI-SR ammunition) 105 mm diameter HVAP (high-velocity armour-piercing) shells.
o (Standard GI-SR ammunition) 115 mm diameter HEAT (high-explosive anti-tank) shells.
o (GI-SR39 exclusive ammunition) 133 mm diameter HALE (high-accuracy lightning-emission) shells.

(Note: HALE shells are equipped with an extremely durable battery able to resist the initial release of energy from being fired. This battery, moments after the shell has been fired, provides the energy necessary to create a short burst of forward momentum, increasing the velocity and range of the shell without altering trajectory. Upon impact the battery releases the remaining charge to create a high-voltage shock-wave, the effectiveness of which is dependent on how conductive the area of impact is.)

Utility:
o GIAC

The GIAC (adaptive camouflage) module is an A.I. controlled system steering a multitude of camouflage technologies allowing for the equipped Mech to blend into its surroundings by using an electro-receptive coating capable of changing both color and luminosity. The coating takes a few minutes to completely change color to match its surrounding and is most, if not only, effective when the Mech remains stationary for a prolonged period of time.

o RPRW
The RPRW (rocket-propelled rotary wings) module is an A.I. controlled system steering the highly aerodynamic wings and rocket-powered propelling technology allowing for highly maneuverable flight over a short duration.

(Note: The GIAC and RPRW demand a tremendous amounts of calculating and processing, so much so that the A.I. can only utilize one at the time while also controlling the Mech itself. Manual control of the Mech by a pilot is required for the A.I. to be able to focus on, and utilize, both the GIAC and RPRW simultaneously.)

A.I.
The (A)MS Stalker Panzer-MII’s A.I. Unit has taken on a male persona and appears to be unwilling to respond to commands, excluding those of his current pilot Angelina Trigg. Having displayed a both headstrong and analytic personality, as well as a preference to function independently from his pilot, makes this A.I. Unit particularly hard to cooperate with. Especially when attempting to pilot the Mech without providing a reason the A.I. Unit agrees with.

I’ll probably join. I’ll have a thing up maybe tomorrow......
Hopefully.

Quick questions/concerns.
1.) So with the Neural Link and AI’s override, can the pilot decide how much control the AI has. Like could the pilot set the AI to only work like with the gun’s firing system, teachnical stuff and switching weapons, while the pilot is in charge of movement and aim. And have it so that the AI has no choice on the matter of whenever the pilot is ejected. (The reason behind this will make more sense upon the creation of my character.)And can this feature be changed depending on the pilot’s choice?
2.) As for the AI, would there be some way for the pilot to communicate to the AI without being directly in the mech. Like say the pilot is on the ground, could he communicate to the mech and AI? And if so, how?
3.) How the weapon is maneuvered leaves me wondering. Is it more like if the pilot moves the mech moves, (like something off of Kinect, where you move a certain way and the avatar does the same.) or is it more sit in a chair and press buttons and controls?

Okay Ry let me answer your questions.

1. Pilots cannot control how much an A.I can interfere. The Pilot will be fully in control whilst inside the mech but if the A.I feels something is pressing enough it will take over. Again the ejection thing works here. If the mech is about to blow up and the A.I has time to realise this and the Pilot seems unaware of the problem the A.I will eject its Pilot.
2. So the A.I can be heard both over voice comms and from speakers on the mech, as if it were talking.
3. Whilst the Pilot is in the seat of the mech a neural link is made that basically allows the pilot to move the mech as if it were part of their body using their brain. They dont have to physically move. Everything can be done manually in case of an A.I malfunction though, using controls and such.

Damn, Keybored's character is so highly elaborate and their Weaponry is like next level and I'm just like '...he has a machine gun.'
Welp xD teach me, senpais!

Oh.. m-my, ehm.. I don't know what to say? Thank you for noticing me senpai! I'm flattered, really and if you want we could PM about 'upgrading' your arsenal? If you want that is.

Hold the phone. keyboard is Angel influenced by I.Q from R6 siege?
No, Angel wasn't, for I haven't played R6 Siege and know nothing about it. But, after looking up I.Q. I can definitely see the resemblance. Funny how this isn't the first time something like this happened. I've had an OC before who someone linked to the appearance and personality of a YouTuber. To which I responded; "Who?"

I see XD Well I guess after so many years of people creating characters similarities were just bound to appear. It's the nature of things.

Secondly is Herald influenced by Northstar from Titanfall 2? I don't have a problem with it or anything but if he isn't that's just another funny coincidence XD

This is true, but only because I don't have a lot of writing experience with Mech so I looked up the source I knew best; Titanfall. Plus, snipers are the best! Mainly because I've never been good at anything else in shooters.

Edit: Northstar's design is also very nice. If only it had bigger wings and an actual sniper instead of a railgun.

Fair enough, I used it a fair bit for the basis of this whole RP honestly. Titans are just so cool :,)

And yeah I love Northstar, I used to play her a lot but grillmaster Scorch took my heart. And X takes some influence from him. So hey I'm guilty too!

If you look at it really nit picky then everything has been done before. It's just up to writers to take the inspiration provided and make it into something of our own, is it not?

Name: Tony Webber

Age: 19

Height: 6ft 1

Appearance: Tony has the body of a natural born athlete, tall and lithe like a big cat. He has sandy blonde hair that is shaven at the sides with the middle spiked up into a pseudo Mohawk. His eyes are a dark green and he has a devil may care smile going on. Honestly quite an attractive fellow.

Personality: Bit of an asshole really. Unwilling to follow orders or work as part of a large team, Tony is a glory hound who just wants to surpass every obstacle by himself. The worst part being that usually he can, he is a very talented fighter. Really the best way I can describe this guy is just an asshole, it really sums him up.

Mech organisation: Crusader technology limited.

Weapons: On his person Tony carries a pair of Piranha-2R, compact submachine guns ideal for dual wielding thanks to their low recoil and large magazines. Each one comes with a collapsible stock should the wielder feel the need to use one at longer ranges. Highly effective for CQB and usable at middle range. Other than those nasty little guns he carries a mean looking katana within a magnetic sheathe on his back. The blade made almost entirely of black carbon fibre with an edge sharp enough to easily cut through metal foes.

Mech bio template:

Official name: 005-SRI

Company: Crusader technology limited.

Weight: 31 metric tonnes.

Height: 20ft

Overview: 005-SRI is a Shrike class mech with light armour designed to be as fast as possible whilst retaining the power of a Paladin class mech. Outfitted with the latest crusader tech to deliver unmatched destruction at close range.

Weaponry: OO5-SRI has a pair Hammerhead-8RT, huge scaled up SMGs that can be attached to the mech’s legs via a pair of magnetic locks. Despite being SMGs the Hammerheads deal heavy damage with their large armour piercing rounds. Now for the real fun bit of this Shrike’s kit. A monstrous 10ft sword that has the edge of a chainsaw to help it cut through other mechs. In addition to the this she has an experimental matter accelerator that allows her to teleport short distances and a set of thrusters on her back for increased acceleration.

A.I: Lovingly nicknamed “Shogun” by her pilot this A.I is cold as they come. Shogun’s coding means that she is entirely devoted to 2 purposes, protecting her pilot and destroying the enemy. She has no time for anything else so as her ally the best you can hope for is getting the hell out of the way when she is on a roll. Remorseless but efficient. Crusader technology approved!

So, while I'm busy with the history of Angel a few questions arose.

Do you have some details on this war? How long it has been going on, any key locations. Stuff like that? Eh.. Well, mainly just how long it has been going on at the moment our characters are recruited.

Also, how many people are you aiming for before we kick this thing off?

Oh.. m-my, ehm.. I don't know what to say? Thank you for noticing me senpai! I'm flattered, really and if you want we could PM about 'upgrading' your arsenal? If you want that is.

I'll be happy to xD Just as well we're all on the same side; my mech would be torn apart. *secretly plots to update character*
*also needs help as evident by the fact Neb had to explain over days what mechs were*

Also, I have a question, Neb. Would our pilots be engaging in direct combat, that is, outside of our mechs? Would we be needing to carry any weapons? And is this similar to the Rapture universe where the environment is toxic and we all need to wear a biomechanically modified suit?

Name: Jace Dulvac

Age: 22

Height: 6’2”

Appearance: Jace is a young man with dirty blonde and black hair, that is spiky and crazy. Let me describe it, as that isn’t the best description of the hair style. The base is black with a cut down to buzz cut, with about an inch of hair. Then he has three spiky stripes of blonde hair, that come down in the front, and the middle one is a bit longer and hangs a bit out and over his head. His face is thin and he has a faint black soulpatch under his bottom lip on his chin. His nose is slightly crooked, and his white teeth are surrounded in his faint pink lips. His ears and eyes are about average sized, while his black eyebrows are a bit thicker than normal. His eyes have dark blue irises.

He is a stick. Tall and thin, he looked like a twig. His skin is a light tan, and it’s broken by faint stretches of freckles across his arms and legs. He is a bit muscular, and has primarily his strength in his limbs, allowing him to swing on trees, kinda like a monkey. While his muscles aren’t well defined, and he doesn’t look like the Rock shirtless, he still has a bit of muscle. But other than that, he’s pretty thin and limber. His muscles aren’t very noticable, unless he flexes. (Even then you gotta look.)

Personality: To best describe his personality, here are a few quotes from his coworkers.
-
“This kid is deranged. Not necessarily in the bad way, but not the good way either. He has weird quirks, that when put together, makes him good at what he does. But he’s a reckless kid, and he thinks he invincible.”
-
“Sure this kid has spunk. But he’s insane. He risks a lot and gambles with most thinks on the battlefield. Maybe it’s some kind of sick game for him.”
-
“Jace is one of the best mech pilots I’ve seen. But he has horrible social skills. His interview for the position almost ruined his chances. He can’t make heads out of tails of politics. It’s like he’s always playing some kind of mind game with everyone.”

Jace is a young man who loves to pilot mechs. But he also has a problem , which can be fatal. He doesn’t seem to fear death. He loves to gamble, however, claiming to love the exhilaration during a life or death choice. He is a young man who lives by instinct. However he has horrible social skills. He is always trying to read people and figure out what makes them tic, instead of trying to start a relationship. He’s always had his head in machinery, and that is what makes sense for him. It’s what he’s good at. He’s best described as slightly insane.
Mech Organization: Hyperstrike International

History and family (Optional): Maybe in the future. It’ll be a lot and I wanted to get my sheet up ASAP.

Mech bio template:

Official name: CAH-MA117-X (Refered to as Omega by Jace)

Company: Hyperstrike International

Weight: 32 Metric Tons (Rough Estimate)

Height: 26 feet (Rough Estimate)

Overview: Omega is a Paladin, that was help designed by Jace himself, but mainly in the mobility and weaponry department. The dark clad metal warrior takes the shape of a old school western gunslinger, with the pilot in the neck area. This was built with evened out defense, and speed, with the gainers doing their best to create an even balance between them. However, his attack i much more powerful, was is built for leading a headlong charge, or as Jace’s personal favorite, creating a diversion. There was also added pressure in the knees and legs for increased jumps, which was a request/demand from Jace upon the creation/upgrade of this mech.

Weaponry: This mech is equipped its state of the art automatic pistol, two of them to be precise. They are kept in automatic maginetic clips at the mech’s thighs. Omega also carries frag grenades that are kept at the wrist and are fired from there.

A.I: Omega has been programmed as a sitter for Jace, and often refers to him as Dulvac. Omega is respectful to other, but often talks down to Jace. However, while he tries to suggest other options, for the most part, goes along with Jace’s schemes. However he feels there will be a need to step in if things get to life or death. (That has been established between the two prior to this RP’s beginning. Don’t expect an ejection everytime Jace does something risky. Only when he is abut to be toast.)

My apologies friend. I, like a fool, have managed to land myself with quite the hangover and as such am In no condition to do much other than say Ry, your in and I'll get the roleplay up either tonight or tomorrow. No more characters will be accepted! I'll answer the other questions when I'm less dead.

@Keybored the war has been going on for almost 17 years at this point. That's why mech pilots have become so rare.
@MegaAbsol the air is breathable and yes pilots will be engaging in hand to hand combat and armed conflicts outside of their mechs. They are elite soldiers after all.

Final character I need to introduce, I shall make the first post later today, I've just been writing since I got back from work.

Name: Mark Stirling

Age: 39

Height: 5ft 11

Appearance: Mark has salt and pepper hair, shaggy and of a medium length. His physique is that of a veteran, clearly one tough fucker. His piercing grey eyes can give a death stare that could probably stop a rhino mid charge. He has a short and dark beard with hints of grey and a series of small scars on his face. Up his left arm is a sleeve tattoo depicting an arrow winding from his elbow to his shoulder with a chain of leaves around it. His back has one notable scar on it, the result of a knife wound from long ago.

Personality: Once a bit of renegade, now the leader of C.A.M.P, Mark Stirling has led an exciting life to say the least. These days he plays a fatherly role to all of his students, wanting the very best for each and every one of them. That being said he has a war to fight, he can’t afford to be soft on the young soldiers he has to send into battle. He’s no pushover, hardened by many years of conflict and loss. Mark now has to respect the rules and regulations of his country but he knows the usefulness of bending them in times of dire need.

Weapons: R2-Accomplice, an 8 shot revolver that fires high calibre rounds capable of tearing through most machines on the battlefield. Can be used at extremely long range but is really meant for close to medium combat. High recoil means that firing rapidly can prove problematic.

Official name: YUI-1

Company: CAMP

Weight: 34 metric tonnes

Height: 24ft

Overview: YUI-1 is a light weight but well armoured Shrike class mech with extraordinary ranged lethality. Highly mobile.

Weaponry: Valkyrie-2, a futuristic upgrade on a classic weapon, this massive bow boasts the ability to kill foes as effectively as any weapon. Comes with several utility arrows such as radar, grappling and explosive variants.

A.I: YUI-1 is every bit as much a war veteran as her pilot. This Shrike class mech holds the current record for longest serving mech A.I, put into action almost 35 years ago. Her chassis is light weight and displays a few marks from past battles, with chipped paint and several small dents.

Just mentioning I updated my mech's arsenal a bit. Neb, if you could look it over and see if it's still okay. I'm all for reducing it if necessary!

I cant really let you have a Gatling gun that is also a flamethrower seeming as the prior is insanely powerful as it is. And what do those missiles do exactly...?

...Uh. I dunno I didn't exactly think them through ^^ *fails*
I suppose they're regular short-ranged AoE missiles? Kinda like Rapture. The way I see it, they're still rather experimental and not very accurate.
Flamethrower shall duly be edited-- gatling gun is overpowered? Really? Should...should I change it? owo'

Fair enough, the missiles are fine :p

You can keep the gatling gun, it just happens to be a very powerful weapon. And to compensate your mech is probably very slow and cumbersome. I mean it only has one hand.

I see. I'll edit it so that it overheats after a while or something. And yes, 90 tonnes isn't easy to lug around xD Although the shield can technically be used...just kinda awkwardly.
