While it took its sweet time to arrive, the special Detective Pikachu demo that Japan received last month is finally available for Europe and North America. The demo is free to download via the 3DS eShop and covers a portion of chapter 1 from Detective Pikachu.

If you later buy the full retail version the game, you can transfer your progress from the demo to it and continue on your merry way!

Who’s already picked up a copy of Detective Pikachu or plans to try the demo?

I already picked up a copy of Detective Pikachu, but for now I’m letting one of my other family members play it while I focus on my own stuff.

I watched some videos of it. It seems interesting and stuff, but it's just not my cup of tea.

I'll probably get the demo to see if the full game is worth getting.

I bought the game day one of its release, and while I've only played a few chapters so far I'd still recommend it to anyone and everyone. It's like someone fused Pokepark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure and Ace Attorney Investigations into one game. It's a lighthearted and fun detective game. Just be warned - it's incredibly plot-driven. Having already bought the full game and played past the point the demo covers, I don't see the point in getting the demo myself, but I'm happy that it's there for everyone to try out the game before getting it themselves.
