Ask to Join BNHA" the flotsam lot 2.0

So just to ask, is it okay if I have Asami's mom be a pro hero or is there a rule against that? I'll edit my post if it is an issue but wanted to ask if that bit of her backstory is alright.
Big shark mama taking her baby girl to school. The mom is holding Asami's hand as they walk to school. Her mom crouched down, "Hows my lil shark doo doo. Go out and make mommy proud! Try your best and you'll do well!" Shark mama said before standing up, letting go of Asami's hand.

Also uh @Barefoot_Kittens I think you put the MHA RP thread in the Pokemon section rather than general ^^'''
Nice catch. Did not notice that either... :'|

Asami: >/////< w-why why why do you put that visual in people's h-heads!?

Also yeah, everyone should save their first post somewhere else cause we should move the thread to general XD

I got my post copied onto my cellphone clipboard so I'm just fine either way. Though I do have to admit, transferring the RP thread to general RP thread would be MUCH easier for everyone. A preferable option.

I know the moderators has moved discussion threads from rp sections to discussion sections so I can imagine the posts in our RP would transfer over as well.

I'll probably post after the RP page is moved. Have one of my characters greet someone.

While I'm on the RP subject I wanna ask, when the entrance exam begins? I know we still need to wait for all the students to arrive, and some people(including myself) are going to wanna interact first. However I ask now to see if you already have an established date for when the entrance exam will begin. It's cool if you don't. I figured I'd ask anyways.

Do you know what kind of entrance exam we are going to be having?

@StellarWind Elsydeon I have a small problem. Is there anyway you could please move our RP thread https://pokecharms.com/threads/bnha-flotsam-lot-2-0.24516/ from the pokemon RP forum to the general one. I uh... made a whoopsie on that one.

@ThAtGuY101 I'm not sure when the exams will begin, if I have to estimate I'd say probably like 2 days from now. And I still haven't come up with how the entrance exam will go. If anyone has ideas, feel free to share, otherwise I'm gonna put a good mount of thought into this to make it as smooth as possible

I hope you don't mind me spitballing two ideas.

If anyone is reading this feel free to ignore both ideas if you have a better idea

1) An obstacle course. Obstacles could vary from getting past a 6 ft wall, climbing through pipes, or other obstacles to test your physical and maybe a few puzzles to test ones mind. If your familiar with the television show "American Ninja Warrior" its basically an obstacle course show.

2) have a physical and written test. Just like "one punch man".

Thoughts?

Going to put up my post after Stell has moved the thread-
I just wanted to let people know because uh..
You might think that i am gone and dropped the RP immediately

Thank the lord for Stellar XD.
I like the obstacle course idea, but I think I'm gonna have it more survival base. Basically get from point A to point B as fast as possible, while surviving everything that we throw at you.
And I'mma give another day for interaction before I post the school faculty and get this show on the road.

Name: Marik Myorik
Hero Name (Optional): TBD
Age (Year 2): 15
Appearance (Detailed please):
Shaggy brunette hair pushed back and to the left, allowing a small portion of bangs to hang over his dark amber eyes. 5’11” in height, remarkably average in body type, and pale skin.
In public, Tashi is commonly seen wearing a white T-shirt with either a black hoodie, or black overshirt. On his lower half, he wears dark blue or black, boot cut jeans. To accompany his boot-cut jeans, he’s also commonly seen in a pair of black...boots (shocker). If not in boots, he’ll typically wear a simple pair of black sneakers with white trim.

Hero Costume (Optional): While in combat, Marik typically prefers to wear a simple, sleeveless, maroon shirt; giving him plenty of exposed skin in an effort to avoid tearing his clothes with his quirk.
His legs are covered by a pair of black, paramilitary style combat pants with plenty of pocket-room for supplies. His shoes are akin to the ones he wears in his day to day life...only now with a perfectly circular hole cut into the front of each boots toe.
Personality (Detailed please): Marik wants to be friendly and socially active, but’s he’s got a bad habit of losing his temper over little issues.
Being self-aware of his own temper, but feeling incapable of fixing it, has caused Marik to socially distance himself from his peers. This, in turn, led to Marik feeling intense social anxiety anytime he has to talk in front of his classmates or teachers.
But now that he’s moving to a new school, he has a chance to rectify things. He plans to break out of his shell and interact more with those around him.
Just socially-underdeveloped boy trying to pass as a normal kid.
Time Spent (where was your character before the school opened?): Marik is an American transfer student, all but new to Japan. While most likely feel hesitant about finding out they had to pack up and move across the world, the amber-eyed boy couldn’t have been more thrilled to be given this ‘second chance’ at having a social life.
What’s more, Marik’s time in solitude has given him the chance to experiment with his limited powers, allowing him to pick up a few neat tricks along the way.
With everything looking up, Marik felt ready to take on this new chapter of his life.

Quirk (Type): Osteomancey Transformation with Emitter qualities.
Explanation: Marik capable of freely manipulating, emitting, and altering his entire skeletal-structure at will.
This has a plethora of uses, such as hardening his bones, transforming them into weapons, firing them as projectiles, etc.
When bones are ejected from his body, they leave no wounds behind, and can be reinserted with ease.
Setback: While Marik is capable of utilizing his bones in a quite versatile fashion, he’s incapable of generating new bone material, meaning...he’s limited to bones in his body.
As you may know...removal of ones entire skeletal structure is a pretty sure-fire way to immediately die, so he must study his own anatomy extensively, and only utilize bones that aren’t debilitating.
What’s more, Marik has to regularly take a unique calcium supplement supplement especially made to assist with his quirk.
Without this pill, Marik’s bones will gradually degrade in durability, resulting in stress-fractures during combat that must heal at the same rate as normal bones.

I have a question, I mentioned in Asami's backstory bit for this that she took classes out West before transferring to a local school, do you think it might be possible that Asami and Marik might be familiar with each other? Even if only some surface level given Marik's social distance nature and Asami's crippling shyness. Just figured this might be an interesting bit of history to possibly explore.

Hm. Well- the chances of them accidentally attending the same school with the radius being all of America is slim.
We’d need to make the previous school significant in some way. A reason you go all the way from Japan- and just so happen to encounter Marik.

Just a reminder that we will be wrapping up introductory interactions by the end of today. I will probably get on late tonight and post the beginning of the exam. If there's anything you want your character to say or do, I recommend getting it in soon.

I will explain it more in RP, but the exam will be a mix between obstacle course and combat. There will be a starting point and an ending point, and the only rules is that students have to get to the ending point. There will be obstacles and moving 'villains'. And who gets accepted into the school will be based on a point system, but the students will not be given the information of how to acquire points.

@ThAtGuY101 Just like to note that Red currently is still hidden underneath Yuzo's clothes. He only briefly came out as the eyestalks to look around, but shrank them back to hide when Yuzo went to approach Ren. Red'll be visible in the next post though, when Yuzo makes him visible as a test to see if Ren'll freak out at it.

This exam is more complicated than I wanted it to be T.T Let me break it down for you. It will also be fleshed out in my next RP post (which will be up soon)
The first part is an obstacle course. You should be able to detail the entire thing in one post. You'll choose 5 obstacles for your character to take, the options being:
- Monkey bars
- Rock wall
- Rope wall
- Balance Beam
- Floating boxes
- Rope Crawl
- Tire run
- Zipline
The second part is just a long ass run. Also should be done in a single post. The last part is villain/survival orientated so it will take more posts. Please don't post the next part until everyone has posted.
Let me know if you have questions or I was unclear on anything.

Yu Wu: monkey bars, rock wall, zipline, rope wall, and rope crawl. Since Yu can stretch his limbs he can take advantage of that when climbing walls or ropes.

Ren Arasaka: rock wall, balancing beam, floating boxes, tire run, and zipline. Poor Ren has no advantages with any of the obstacles so he may end up falling off the wall once or twice and he may be huffing and puffing as he lifts the tire.

How Ren is going to look during the second part: long ass run.

Well, we all already know that Yuzo is just gonna use Red as wings and fly over everything. Considering him wearing Red basically puts his physical prowess at tripled levels (I mean he IS wearing his quirk which already has double his everything), and the fact Red has no stamina considering he literally is just a flesh blob, Yuzo can probably watch from above and help out here and there in the villain bit with a few divebombs.

I was hoping to avoid this T.T. Yep, good on you for motivating my lazy self, here they are:

Principal: Mr. Zumiti (Pro Hero: Mega Block)
Mr. Zumiti can manipulate the size of his body. He can shrink to the size of a thumbtack or grow to the size of a building. The smaller he is, the easier it is to control his body, but when enlarged it becomes more and more difficult to make precise movements.
Class 2A Homeroom: Mr. Hamikaru
Mr. Hami possess the ability to control the clay and mud of the earth. He can't make any, but he can take it from the ground, even having the strength to allow it to rip through concrete floors. He can create structures attached to the ground, or unattached it.
Class 2B Homeroom: Ms. Agsaki (Pro Hero: Bubble Gum)
Ms. Agsaki can create clear, soap-like bubbles and control their movements are well as their properties. She can make them as big or as small as necessary, as well as making the film as strong as she wanted- strong enough to trap a villain or weak enough to pop on a blade of grass. She uses water form her body to create the bubbles and become dehydrated quickly.
Quirk Specialist: Zero (Pro Hero: Zero)
Zero can create an explosion between any two objects that come into contact. So long as they are touching, even if just briefly, Zero can create combustion between them. This includes anything from his own fingertips and a villain, or a car and the road beneath it- he can also control the strength of the blast.
Hero Training Specialist: Mrs. Atchia (Pro Hero: Wraith Commander)
Mrs. Atchia can remove and keep the souls of anyone who she targets. The only requirement is for her to have both palms on the target, this includes animals and humans. When a soul is removed, it turns into a small purple orb until placed again. She also has the ability to switch souls if either palm is on two different targets. This is mostly used for medical procedures, but can be a capture method.
Nurse: Ms. Izaya
(It's literally just Katsuma's quirk) Ms. Izaya can initiate and speed up the process of cells. She can use this to prompt quick healing, energy regeneration, or improvement of the quality of bodily functions.

Asami will likely go for Monkey Bars, Rock Wall, Balance Beam, Floating Boxes, & Zipline.

I like how literally none of these are things Asami's quirk helps her with XD. Though I'll least argue her scaly skin can help with a tighter grip for things like the Monkey Bars & Rock Wall.

She's gonna do better than Ren. Can Ren even focus long enough to balance on a beam and get to the other side?

T.T I'm sorry y'all. I got super busy super quickly. It was a "give a mouse a cookie" type situation where problems just sprang out form other problems. Things are settling down and it's the first time I've been on charms in a couple of days. With the weekend around the corner, I'll have more free time. Anyways, I'm about halfway done writing my post for the RP, but I gotta take my dog to the beach because the poor lad hasn't been out in a while either. I'll get that post up tonight.
