Plot:
The storyline is placed in the same timeline as the anime, but the iconic characters we all know and love do not exist and are replaced with the OCs that YOU guys make. Titans have ravaged the land, and the citizens are protected behind Wall Maria, Wall Rose, and Wall Sina. Your OCs will choose a regiment to serve in the fight against the Titans: The Survey Corps. (venture outside of human territory and reclaim lost human territory from the Titans), The Garrison (protect and maintain order within the walls), or The Military Police (live within the inner wall and serve as the King's guard).

Time for the character form!

Backstory (optional):

Righto then, here's mine!
Name: Erik Sorin
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: Short, black, scruffy hair brushed to the right, light facial hair, chocolate brown eyes, medium build.
Personality: Dark, easily annoyed, loyal
Regiment of Choice: Survey Corps.
Backstory: Erik doesn't linger on the past.

Erik threw his Survey Corps. cloak over his head and girded himself. He examined his blades. Nice and sharp. Perfect. His eyes flashed with intensity, the fire of battle. Soldiers saluted as he approached his squadron. He nodded. "At ease." Erik led the soldiers to Wall Maria and looked back at them. "You ready?"

"Sir, yes sir!" Kent gulped as he nodded towards Erik along side the other soldiers. Erik, who was the leader of this squadron, was only a single year older than Kent himself, but he had gained a lot of the frail blonde boy's respect.

It had only been a couple of weeks since Kent was transferred from the Military Police to the Survey Corpse - and it was practically every soldiers nightmare. He was forced out of the regiment of the most comfort and safety into the one with the highest casualties and risks. Information on why a such rare transfer as this was taken place was highly classified, and although he was entitled to ask questions, Kent had already known. It was risky enough for him in the MPs...it was best for everyone that he would no longer remain within Wall Sina.

Adjusting his green cloak around his shoulders, and looked forwards at the large, weakened wall before him. His hands slightly trembled as he gripped his horse's reigns. There was no telling what the squad of soldiers would find beyond on the wall - hell, he didn't even know what they were looking for - but whatever the task was, there was no guarantee of returning alive, or in one piece. Although the teenager had just barely made Top 10 in his graduating Cadet Class, he wasn't sure if he was actually able to take down a live, moving Titan. The beasts were treacherous, and had no intelligence or care for human life; people were merely snacks to fill their bellies.

Erik nodded to Kent and lowered his voice, though it doubled in fierceness. "Now, listen. Titans are not humans. They don't know our ways. Mercy and kindness mean nothing to them. You aren't out there to kill, you don't belong anywhere. Once you stand face-to-face with a Titan, you will feel the cold, unwavering bloodlust in its eyes. The Titan will stop at nothing to kill you, so you have to kill it. You think you learned this in the training grounds, you think you're prepared. But, nothing will prepare you for the paralyzing gaze of a hungry Titan. Do you understand?"

Well gee, that didn't help settle Kent's nerves at all. He wiped a little bit of the sweat that began to form around his hairline. The squadron hadn't even set out yet and he was a nervous wreck.

"Come on, dude. You trained for this. Get yourself together." He whispered to himself, gripping his horse's reigns harder.

Cold, unwavering bloodlust? Paralyzing gaze of a hungry Titan? He had heard terms like such in the Cadet Corpse, but being there and actually close to experiencing made such words terrifying. Kent nodded and saluted Erik alongside the other soldiers on their horses. He was ready, but he also wasn't.

Erik fixed his gaze on all of the soldiers and looked at Kent. He rode up to him and said in that same, cold voice, "Kent. Are you ready? Answer my question honestly. Will be prepared to fight for the ones you care about the most, even if the most terrifying Titan stands in your way, reaching for you with an outstretched hand?" Erik stared straight at Kent with his brown eyes, sharpened with intensity. "What say you?"

Kent caught his captain's intense brown gaze - and he struggled to return complete eye contact. Why did he have to single him out among the others? He must be looking more terrified than he initially thought he did. The young boy managed to get himself together, straighten his posture, and look directly back at Erik.

"Yes, Sir!" He responded sharply, but it was evident that it was a hollow answer.

He could feel the stares of the other soldiers around him. Their eyes filled with doubt about him, and Kent was sure that he was the one everyone expected to die. He himself already knew that not too many people were fond of him for running away to the capital in search of a comfortable, easy life. But he was here now. All he could do was stay alive, and try to prove them wrong.

Erik nodded grimly and placed a hand.on Kent's shoulder. "Good. I'm counting on you, Kent. And also, if you feel as if there's no hope, that your death is inevitable, I implore you: think about your family, the ones you care about, and think about how much they need you, because trust me. That will give you the fuel you need to keep fighting." He looked around. "I implore all of you, think about the ones you care most about in this god forsaken world. If you won't fight for yourself, for your own wellbeing, fight for them. Do you understand?"

Family...Friends....Loved Ones? Those things were complete strangers to Kent. He didn't even know who was left of his family, but he did know whoever was didn't care about him. Kent's eyes dropped to the ground. That was his problem. He was already sure of his death, and he didn't have anyone to fight for other than his comrades right there with him - some who would die as well.

"Sir, Yes Sir!" Kent simply repeated again.

He knew he had to fight, at least to make Erik proud - but there was no internal promise to himself of escaping this alive. 'For the betterment of humanity', they say. But was there any hope for humans? All this world was were people trying to live off the scraps that this world had to offer - while people like the Survey Corpse threw there lives away because of some righteous goal to learn and retake the world from the naked beasts, while others like the Military Police sat high and happy until the inevitable end of the world someday. So, was all of this worth it?

Snap out of it. Kent thought to himself. He had to fight those thoughts and feelings - there was no going back now. He examined the large wall before him with the logo of the Goddess Maria. He took a good, long look - because this could very well be the last time he would ever see it.

Erik nodded and turned his horse around, guiding it to the front of the squadron. He called behind his shoulder. "We leave now. You know what the flares do. You see a Titan, you signal. Now, ride!" The gate opened, and the squadron sped out of the safety of the walls, into the horror of the outside world.

(Sorry for being late. And for the short post. .-.)

Asuna hesitated grimly, and looked over at Kent. She'd never really spoken to him, or anyone for that matter, but she saw the fear in his eyes. Her voice softened from her usual harsh bark.
"Hey. It's gonna be okay. It's scary out there, but.. we'll make it. Alright?" she promised gently, her lips curled into a tiny, reassuring smile that only lasted a moment before the gate opened. She, too, felt nervous, but of course she couldn't show that at the risk of seeming weak. So, without another word, she sped forward with the squadron.
She saw them walking in the distance and her heart twisted. A lumbering eight meter, a groaning ten. They were all far, but easily enough they were still horrifying.

Kent's horse had taken off alongside the others. He tried to return the smile that one of his squadmates gave, as she attempted to calm him down. He recognized her, but slightly. Whenever he had seen her she usually had quite the tough disposition, and she was quite intimidating after he had heard about her skill whenever he first transferred. But it was nice to receive comforting words, nonetheless. Kent had no idea how calm and ready some of these soldiers seemed - even though they most likely have been on expeditions before, he could never imagine being used to them.

The blonde's horse continued to press forwards. It was hard watching as the Wall got larger and larger as they drew closer, and Kent gave one last glance behind him at the safe-zone that he had always known behind the Walls. He went from deep inside the world's safest place - Wall Sina, to now leaving all safety entirely. How cruely ironic.

A little bit after they exited Wall Maria, Kent's head snapped to the right as he felt slight trembling in the ground. Sure enough, it was a couple of the beasts loitering around.

Already!? Kent thought, his hands beginning to tremble as he clung to his horse's reigns.

They were a safe distance away, but seeing the nude monsters for the first time, and so early on, scared him almost senseless. He returned his line of vision forwards. He felt the wind soar through the horseback formation and cause his cloak to flap through the wind as they moved quicker and quicker. He tried to pretend they werent there -- but its hard ignoring death when its watching you from a distance.

Erik whipped his head to the side to look at the Titans. Sure enough, they were there, a bit earlier than the captain had expected. No matter. He signaled for the soldiers behind him to stick to the path and veered off toward the beasts. His gaze suddenly flashed with menace as he leapt off his horse and propelled himself forward, blades at the ready. Only 2. That should be quite easy.

He fired a grappling hook that passed through the back of one Titan's neck and hooked around the second. With a small grunt, Erik launched toward the first Titan, spinning like a mini tornado as his blades rapidly carved a bloody slit in the Titan's only weak spot, gore flying out in a bloody mess. The Titan crumpled to the ground as Erik moved on, gaze unwavering. He had sworn to show the Titans the same mercy they had shown to humanity. Erik landed on the back of the second Titan's neck and readied his blades, stained with steaming Titan blood. "Goodbye," The captain muttered as his blades found their target, digging deep into the thick flesh as the Titan breathed its last. Erik jumped off right where he had predicted his horse would be and calmly rode back to the front of the formation.

Damn.
"Nice job, Erik!" Asuna shouted, grinning, as pride swept across her face.
The battlefield was the only place she allowed her emotions to show, because she knew nobody would be paying attention to her. They were all too busy with fighting and Titans to look at her face, so she knew she could. So here she was, running for her life and risking everything, just smiling like a dork when nobody would see. She looked to her left and saw a somewhat large but not particularly threatening Titan lumbering over with barely outstretched hands. She felt her heart skip a beat- well, two- once, out of adrenaline, and excitement. This one's mine.
Twice, out of fear. Well, not really fear. Hesitation. She watched it's eyes, filled with bloodlust, widen joyfully at the sight of so much potential prey. Asuna smirked. Not today. Not ever. Not until she died.
She shot out her hooks which connected to a nearby tree, particularly right behind the Titan. As it's reaction was slow, it barely even turned around as she glided to the tree. As soon as she was close enough to make contact, she braced herself and bent her knees, throwing herself off the tree and, for a second, it felt like she was floating through the air on her back. Which was pretty much what she was doing, but much quicker.. Then, she quickly spiraled in the air- like a cat would when it prepared for a fall, an aerial twist- and sliced the nape of the neck on her way, landing on it's head and quickly pushing herself off from it's steaming skull. With it's last final movements, it managed to swipe her out of the air as it fell, throwing her to the ground. She hit the ground just after the Titan, feeling an immediate bruise form on her shoulder and a busted blood vessel just in the corner of her right eye. It formed what looked like a scratch, but the blood was just beneath the surface of skin. Getting to her feet, she silently winced, and Asuna looked around frantically, seeing the group not far ahead.
She stuck two fingers in her mouth and whistled loudly.
"Sivlique!" she called, addressing her horse, who quickly turned around to make it's way to her. Asuna met it halfway with help from her gear and quickly landed onto it's saddle, whipping the reigns and easily catching up with the group, when Sivlique slowed to match the pace.
Asuna lightly touched the huge bruise under her jacket, gritting her teeth at the contact. A sloppy smirk appeared on her face.
"Well, I suppose nobody's perfect.." she chuckled darkly, a bigger grin tugging at her lips.
Despite her minor injury, she'd killed a Titan; particularly, her first, and it was a memory that she'd never forget.

Erik nodded with approval to the approaching Asuna. "Likewise. Other than your injury, you handled the situation well and got rid of the threat quickly. I'm proud of you." He gave her a quick grin and called out to the others. "Keep going! Ignore the Titans unless they engage for now. We'll deal with them later." Erik spurred his horse, Archangel, forward.

Only two words could come to Kent's mind at the moment - Bad. Ass.

Had he saw what he thought he just saw? In a matter of mere minutes, Captain Erik had shot out to the side, taking out the 2 potential threats with ease. Kent watched as their large bodies fell lifelessy to the ground and Erik returned to the formation -- as if nothing happened! As Kent tried to process what had just happened, that girl from earlier, Asuna, left the formation as well. The teen watched as his fellow soldier graced through the air, slicing down another Titan that had seemed to come out of no where.

Kent was in awe as the two soldiers killed the monsters - however he winced immensely as he watched Asuna get swatted out of the air, and started to think she would actually die when she hit the ground. However, he sighed with relief as he watched her get back up. Beaten up a bit, but alive. As she rejoined her spot in the formation next to Kent, multiple soldiers had began flattering her take down, as well as they did Erik.

So...this was the life of the Survey Corpse. Reckless, impulsive, and risky. He had experienced more action in the first 20 minutes on this expedition than he had the first few weeks in the Military Police. The question was - could he do any of this? He doubted that he had the skill to use the moves he learned as a cadet on an actual Titan as Erik and Asuna just had.

Still, he moved on. Looking straight ahead, trying desperately to allow what he just witnessed to inspire him, and make him strive for more than just sulking and eventually dying. If he were to die, he definitely refused to let it be a pathetic encounter.

Asuna nodded briefly.
"Thank you, sir!" she shouted, raising her chin slightly. And she rode for a bit longer in what almost felt like peace. The Titans that she could see were all lumbering around, much farther away than she expected. The trees in the distance were shaking, whistling through the breeze. It was eerily quiet, and her heart hammered with anticipation. Something was wrong, something had to be.
Surely enough, something behind a tree up ahead shifted. It appeared to be a Titan of sorts.. clinging to the trunk of a swaying tree. Asuna felt her blood run cold. If she wasn't mistaken..
"Sir! An- Abnormal!" she shrieked, to Erik. He was at the front of the line, and certainly he was the most in danger from the odd Titan.
(Not much to write. Tired & stressed, sorry for the short post.)

(Nah, it's fine.)

Erik eyed the tree carefully. An Abnormal, indeed. He smirked darkly. "Asuna, signal to everyone else to keep up the formation, and keep riding. I'll handle this one."

He spurred Archangel to pick up the pace and soon, the squadron became a tiny speck behind him as Erik raced toward the tree. The Abnormal Titan gazed at the new human and grinned darkly, blood lust at a maximum as the Titan got ready to enjoy a meal. Erik matched the Titan's gaze and jumped off Archangel, using his gas to propel himself forward. The Abnormal reached out at him with surprising speed, but Erik managed to shoot a grappling hook right below the arm as it hooked around the tree. The captain swung under the monstrous arm and let go, shooting into the air, high enough as to where he could see the squadron. He retracted the grappling hook and fired again, this time piercing the back of the Abnormal's neck. Erik shot downward toward his target and used his gas for more momentum. He unsheathed his blades and grunted as the weapons struck a deadly blow at the nape of the neck, killing the Abnormal instantly. He let out a shrill whistle and saw Archangel galloping toward him as Erik fell. He fired yet another grappling hook at the tree and ran down it until he was at a safe height and jumped off performing a little flip as he landed safely onto his trusty horse. He patted Archangel once, murmured a thanks, and caught back up to the front of the formation. Once he arrived, he nodded to Asuna. "That's taken care of now."

Asuna nodded and headed just a bit forward to the front, raising her arm to indicate them staying together, watching as Erik sped forward to embrace the Titan with a chilling blow. It was amazing, and majestic as hell, and he returned with a brief nod to her. "There aren't as many as I thought there would be," she murmured to him as he told her it was taken care of. Shrugging slightly to herself, she backed up, back to her position, watching her fellow squadmates. Some looked viciously ready to attack, others looked scared senseless. A few looked legitimately happy. That small portion of people always creeped Asuna out, she showed emotion on the field but not actual joy to see death in the face.

Immediately after Asuna called attention to the Abnormal, that could climb trees, Kent followed Erik's orders and took up a flare gun in his right arm, and covered his ear with his left, and then pulled the trigger - a large and speedy red puff of smoke hurdling upwards. It was clear that the other squadrons took notice, as the same colored flares were fired back in response. After that was handled, Kent watched as Erik took out the Titan. This one took a bit more effort it seemed, since it was able to react quickly. But, its efforts were in vain as it was struck down eventually.

Kent was relieved, because whenever he simply studied Abnormals and how unpredictable they were, he would almost have a panic attack. However, he was able to keep it together pretty well for it be his first sighting of one - even though they were pretty far away. He couldnt help but think; they were going straight into that forest...and if that was only in the front - imagine whats even deeper inside. He wasn't about to risk his life for no reason. He needed answers.

Temporarily breaking his position in the middle of the formation, Kent has his horse, Skyfire, gallop quicker and draw close to Captain Erik so that they were in good talking distance.

"Captain! If you don't mind my asking, what are we trying to research or discover, sir?" He called out above the wind.

Erik turned to face Kent. "I don't mind at all, and to answer your question, we're not really researching or discovering anything. Another part of our job as the Survey Corps. is to also attempt to reclaim the land outside the walls that have been contaminated with the Titans, extra emphasis on the word 'attempt'." He sighed. "I lost some of my best friends on a mission during my early years... but no matter."
