Private/Closed Ace Academy - Pokemon Trainer School RP

Wolfa had quickly closed her eyes to prevent sand from getting into them as she waited patiently for the sand attack to disappear. She turned to Henry giving a smile. "That's what teammates are for, I told you that you can rely on me when it comes to protecting a team member" she gave a smile.-

"Pocchi!"

In time to Hana's shout, the Rockruff jumped upward, behind the Bronzor. Hoping to use his teammate as a shield, Pocchi managed to stay on his last leg for a while longer. Hana breathed a sigh of relief. It really was all she could do to drag Monty and Sentinel down... She shook her fears away and cheered her dog on.

"Pocchi, do what you can! I believe in you!" The shakes and jitters through Hana's body came from more than just the caffeine now. Her heart pounded in her chest from the excitement of it all-- and here she was, a cheerleader instead of a trainer giving orders, all because she worried too much about giving the other trainers time to react to her plans.

The Rockruff did what he could, spraying dirt in the direction of the Dhelmise's eye again as he ran across the battlefield.

As he ran back and forth, however, Hana noticed that some of the sand he kicked up stayed behind as small dust clouds. "Pocchi, wait! Stop attacking Dhelmise!" Normally, a Sand Attack could only affect one Pokémon, right? But, from as far back as she was standing, it was getting harder to see the other two!

"Use Sand Attack on the air around you! Use the dust clouds to hide you and Sentinel!" The Rockruff barked an affirmation and changed course.

"Sentinel get in front of Pocchi!" Monty commanded. Sentinel resists Grass so this shouldn't do too much, plus its Sp. Defense should be good enough to reduce the damage. Luckily, Hana had been thinking the same thing as Monty. Sentinel blocked the Mega Drain, taking minimal damage, and looked behind it to make sure Pocchi was unscathed. Sentinel followed Pocchi with it's eyes and watched along with Monty as sand was sprayed up all around the battlefield.

"Good thinking!" Monty praised Hana. "Sentinel, spin while using Confuse Ray! Pocchi, duck down!" Monty commanded. If we can't see the enemy, we'll just attack everywhere at once. Sentinel began to spin and use Confuse Ray at the same time, and the beam of dark purple energy curved around the entire battlefield in a wide arc.

While Sentinel was using Confuse Ray, Mongy noticed something new. There seemed to be an extremely faint blue barrier around the battlefield, around each of them to be more specific. Monty looked around for a moment before spotting the culprit high up in the trees, watching over the battles. An Alakazam floated in the canopy, using Psychic to keep the moves and debris contained within each mini-battlefield.

The sheer force of Togepi's Hyper Voice propagated flowing sound waves across the stadium, clearing out most of the sand particles obstructing the view. A powered up special move like that was quite dangerous, especially after the Tail Glow, thankfully Sand-Attack was able to lower his opponent's accuracy for a short while. As the sandy air cleared up, Bog's part of the stadium was revealed to be filled with deep burrows, penetrating through the thin icy surface and with Nincada nowhere to be found. "Brian, I improvised a few trap holes with Nincada's Dig. Since Nincada is a short-ranged battler, I'm in danger of being counter-attacked, so I need you to deal with them from afar and I'll support you through surprise attacks!" Bog said to Brian with determination

Once the sand had cleared she saw holes that the Nincada had dug. She knew they were traps but for what moves. "-Hm..they are trying to get us both in those holes to attack us better...Wolfa watch out for those holes...-"she told her in thought. Wolfa nodded as she opened her eyes to look to her shaking the dust off. She glanced to Henry. "Henry, what stragety do you have in mind?" She whispered to him.-

Brian simply folded his arms. "Ralts, swarm them with Magical Leaf." He commanded, Ralts began to summon a swarm of leaves covered by a pink light, he held his arms out and caused most of them to fly toward the Rockruff and Togepi, they way they moved seemed strange as if they tried to box the Pokemon in, perhaps even closer to the holes, meanwhile a small barrage of leaves began to orbit around the Ralts as if made into a shield.

“Jacob, I’ll attack first, as speed is on our side due to Dash,” Elodie advised, folding her arms. “Let’s get this battle started Dash, we’re already late! Use Flame Wheel to start us off!” Dash cloaked herself in a fiery vortex and charged with full speed at Eclipse, and not Gunter due to its fire typing and it wouldn’t be as effective. “After Flame Wheel, use stomp!” Cloaking her feet in energy, Dash sprinted at the Rockruff.

“Speed is on our side due to Dash”

Zander couldn’t help but crack a small grin at this remark. These guys were the same as everyone else, expecting an easy win by out speeding Gunter.

“Intercept Dash with Thunder Punch.” The chestnut hair boy called out casually.

“Mag....by!” Surprisingly, Gunter was incredibly spry on his feet, and as Dash charged directly at the pair, intercepting the enemy was all to easy. Gunter aimed to send an electrified fist upwards into Dash’s gut. And due to all the forward momentum it had gained, it would likely be very difficult dodge.

“You see the thing about Magby’s are, in there first stage, there speed is there highest stat, and gradually lowers throughout evolution. Because of this, I’ve specifically focused on speed improvement with Gunter as to throw enemies off, a great strategy for deception before the battles even begun.” The young trainer thought to himself, somewhat proud that his plan had already begun to work perfectly.

Henry frowned. The Ralts was still standing - impressive after the boosted Hyper Voice - and the Nincada was hiding completely. He had been hoping to be able to pull through this with Metronome alone, but it looked like he would have to reveal one of the tricks up his sleeve. "Spike, use Mirror Move on the Ralts!" Spike nodded, taking in the leaves that swirled around him, nudging him closer to the holes. He then held out both of his arms towards Ralts, and a larger barrage of leaves shot out, some cutting a hole in the leaves caging them in, and others shooting at the Ralts directly. Spike then, in a combination of waddling and rolling, dodged out through the hole in the Magical Leaf cage, just barely avoiding the edge of it. "Hurry!" Henry gestured, "Get your Rockruff out before the gap closes!"

Dash had no time to dodge the hit, but luckily it wasn’t critical. “Turn around and hit Gunter instead,” Elodie said calmly and Dash charged toward the Magby, and with such a close distance, it wouldn’t be very easy to dodge. Even if the Magby was fast, it couldn’t just outspeed a Ponyta, especially a well-trained for speed one.

Right when Dash was about an inch away and the Magby was bracing itself, Dash turned around and used Stomp in her own way, powering up her hooves with a lot of energy, and she kicked her back legs straight at her opponent’s head which should cause some sort of dizziness if it hits. ‘With such a close distance, there’s no way it’ll miss,’ Elodie thought, flipping her hair behind her shoulder and crossing her arms.

She nodded before reacting quickly. "Wolfa! Jump!" She told her. "Ruff!"she said leaping out of the hole into the air as she was in midair at the moment. She thought what she was going to do before it came to her. "-Wolfa spin in mid air and use Rock throw in all the holes they created!-" she said to her. "Ruff!"she said before spinning herself as rock throw appeared from her neck shooting inside the holes before she landed on the ground hoping it would hit the Nincada inside.

Shadow saw what Zander was doing as he smirked. "-Impressive-" he thought. "Eclipse get on Dash's back!" He said as he nodded to follow before his small pup body leaped on top of the Ponyta's back. He looked to Zander under his mask hoping his stragety could get to him. "Hold on tight Eclipse!" He told him as Eclipse grabbed on Dash tightly with his paws.-

Leila looked surprised that they were willing to attack in a wide arc. However, the beam was small and there was a slight chance that it was going to pass by them. She wasn't counting on that chance however, and instead tried to think of a plan. "Let's discuss," she quickly murmured. "Neither teams can see each other. I'm guessing that if one of us follows the beam inwards, we'll reach them. The bronzor seemed to be the one who used this move earlier, so it's probably the one casting. That would mean if they didn't want it to hit the rockruff, the rockruff would probably be near where they plan to stop spinning," she hypothesized.

She wasn't sure how her teammate had been attacking during this round. Maybe he has a secret powerful move? I hope so. Or maybe he's shy. She looked up and noticed the beam nearing, but not at them yet. "Mise use Gyro Ball and keep on spinning until you hit them. They should be near the center of the dust cloud," she said, lowering her voice so that the opposite team couldn't hear. Now, it was up to luck. She crossed her fingers as she watched Mise pick up speed. Her eyes narrowed once more as she watched the advancing beam. She wasn't sure how many more hits Mise could take, but she hoped that with it's boosted power due to its ability would be enough to take one of them down.

‘Okay, okay, but does Shadow even know that Eclipse is getting burned, especially if i do this?’ Elodie grinned, and looked at Dash out on the field. “Cloak yourself with fire and burn Eclipse!” Dash used the move Fire Spin to do so, releasing fire from all directions and especially at the Rockruff, most likely causing it to burn since Flame Wheel mixed with Dash’s Flame Body ability is something that’s extremely prone to getting yourself burned.

Thanks to the recoil from being hit with Thunder Punch, Gunter would’ve had plenty of time to dodge, even from such a short distance. But before Zander could call out a command, Shadow ordered Eclipse to...jump on an actively burning Pokémon’s back.

“Well...not exactly what I would’ve done, but I suppose it works.” The chestnut hair boy thought to himself as he decided to merely observe what was happening.

“Wait for it Gunter...wait...wait...Thunder Punch, now!” Zander exclaimed just as Dash’s Fire Spin wore off. He took this moment of cool down to attempt and unload a charged up Thunder Punch into the distracted Dash’s jaw.

“Only a couple more hits. My combo of Flame Body and Thunder Punch means it’s incredibly likely that at least one status effect will take place, and after this second blow, Dash should be feeling the pressure.”

Hana gently nudged Monty's side. "Don't worry about Confuse Ray hitting Pocchi," she whispered to her teammate. "His ability is Own Tempo. That means he can't get confused, anyway." What she thought was going to be the worst team-up not ten minutes ago... turned out to be the best partnership she could have asked for. Even if they didn't win, their teamwork was solid. With a little more training, especially on Hana's part, they could totally make it into the Altarias.

It was only going to be a problem if Sentinel started using Psywave in an arc like that, but if the dog went down now, they'd already done so well so far! Hana shook herself back to her senses. "Pocchi! Zig-zag! Figure-eight! Don't let anyone find you!" If the Rockruff kept going in a circle, eventually they would narrow down where he was based on his path when they could still see him, right?

He diverted course and pushed up dust clouds in an erratic pattern across the battlefield.

Dash had swiftly dodged a couple of the Thunder Punched before one hit her, again, not critically, but still enough to pack a decent punch on her energy. “Alright then, constant electric moves is how we’re playing? Dash, use Wild Charge!” Just as Dash would cloak herself in fire for Fire Spin, she gave herself an orb of electric energy and charged, no, sped towards the Magby and nobody could barely see her, just her trail of electricity. ‘Even though Wild Charge isn’t a recoil move, it might hurt Dash slightly because she is faster than normal.. should I be concerned?’ Elodie thought, narrowing her eyes at the battle.

Eclipse did feel the Fire spin but since he is part rock it wasn't as effective. Once Zander's Gunter used Thunder punch he had leaped up before Ponyta had used Wild Charge. "-I have to act quick, a damage like that might hurt Gunter badly, also Eclipse took a bit of damage due to the Fire spin and will be hurt by it-" he thought. "Eclipse grab Gunter and throw him up then use rock throw to form a shield!" He told him. "Ruff!" He said quickly grabbing Gunter as he threw him up in the air before he used rock throw on the ground to form a shield before moving out of the way and because of that Fire spin he was hurt a bit but his determined face proved he wasn't going down easily.-

Eclipse’s rock shield would get in the way, Jacob was certain. While Dash was dealing with Gunter, he nodded to Jangmo-o to commence with their attack.

“Use Dragon Tail to smash the rock shield!” He ordered. “Then follow up with another Dragon Tail on Eclipse!” The Jangmo-o finally seemed to become focused. He nodded at his trainer before charging forward. Jangmo-o’s tail became charged with energy before it slammed into Eclipse’s rock shield. Jacob waited to see if it would shatter, and give Jangmo-o an opportunity to strike at Eclipse.
