About
Good morning! I am AriaNights, though I’ll respond to ‘Aria,’ ‘Crimea,’ or ‘Dirty Cheater.’
I’m a guy who plays all sorts of video games, but the real charm for me comes in how video games can be bent to one’s will with only a few planned moves.
To that end, I do all sorts of trickery with the Pokemon Red and Blue games — while I know quite a few glitches, the extent of my havoc has thus far only allowed me to recreate shiny Pokémon from the Virtual Console games — a process that, while gruelling to set up and messy to work with, is really fun.
While I’m not exactly sure how others feel on that subject, it brings me joy to see these little glitch projects work — and much of my Pokemon teams now are composed of these pet projects that I’m oh-so-fond of.
In terms of RP, I’m fairly basic. I do tend to chew scenery and go off on lengthy monologues, but I tend to spoiler all that if it gets too bad. Aside from that, I’m a real sucker for cheesy stuff — particularly romance based RPs and such — so you’ll often see me partaking in those as a result.
With all that said, I hope I can fit in. Have a wonderful day!
As a note: All written works of mine are different than their RP counterparts unless stated otherwise.
Name: Grant Redwood
Age: 14-16
Gender: Male
Height: 5’10-5’11
Grant is a self-aware jokester at heart, possessing a seemingly endless amount of grit for any situation at hand. A life in Kanto brought him to respect Professor Oak, which made him want to research the same thing — but knowing Oak had him beat on damn near everything, he decided to go down a different path.
He theorizes that there are some Pokémon in the Kanto region that simply can’t be properly comprehended for one reason or another. Because of that, these Pokémon serve as the beasts of old wives’ tales that advise against excess greed and chasing fame.
Having seen something in the Kanto region that proved these tales true for him, he set out to prove it to the rest of the world.
Needless to say, his fatal flaw would be his extreme hyperfocusing issues — he tends to grow tunnel vision surrounding his research, and has a problem with focusing only on that.
POKÉMON: At the start, he usually only has an Abra that only knows Teleport. At home, he has a Munna, a gift from a friend.
Roleplays Used: Journey to Galar: Sinnoh, Hoenn Casual
Series Used: A Finger in the Pond
Name: Matthew Verdid
Age: 13-19
Gender: Male
Height: 5’11-6’2
Matthew is something of a laidback jokester, sprinkled with bits of naïvety. He takes some pride in his attempts to help others, and seeing others laugh puts a smile to his face just as it does to others.
Just below the surface, however, lies a self-loathing boy who agonizes over every mistake. Attempts to confront him on his self esteem are met with jokes and handwaves, but his problems with self-worth have distorted his worldview quite a bit. Rather than trying to make a name for himself as a professional musician as he’d always wanted to, he forces himself to take on jobs for others — namely, having taken the job of running his father’s tea shop to allow his sister to roam free.
In that sense, his selflessness has started working against him, almost as if it were a fatal flaw — almost by reflex, he throws himself to the wind, playing second fiddle no matter how he truly feels on the subject. There doesn’t appear to be an upper limit to just how much he’ll do to please somebody else — his sister seems to be the only one who can restrain him from going too far and hurting himself in the process.
However, deep in his heart, he wishes to roam free as an accordionist — and more than that, he wishes to cross the Entralink to find a friend long gone.
Generally, his Pokémon team consists of a shiny Lilligant named Queenprotea, a Cottonee named Hydrangea, and a Snivy named Bluebell. From what it seems, Bluebell was a gift from a friend in Nuvema Town, and Queenprotea was a gift from his father. He also takes care of innumerable Petilil.
Depending on the RP, Queenprotea may instead be a Petilil.
Roleplays Used: A Cafe of Love
Series Used: A Finger in the Pond, Rock Bottom
Age: 13-20
Gender: Female
Height: 5’6 - 6’1
On the outside, Gavial is an uncomfortably honest, blunt, and rather confident lady who takes no trouble with calling out whatever she dislikes.
In due fact, she tends to throw around insults rather commonly, and seems to be a bit of a stone wall — difficult to approach, and rather intimidating at times.
However, it seems she’s ended up this way due to being rather protective of her stepbrother, Matthew. As Matthew tended to not stand up for himself, she took it upon herself to do the hard work for him — as she was naturally a bit aggressive, she decided to hone it into protecting her much weaker brother, which eventually turned her into a far stronger person.
Unlike her brother, she’s rather confident in herself, and seems to have a will of steel — but unlike Matthew, who understands emotion a bit better, Gavial doesn’t have a great grip on how she’s feeling — or anyone else.
It seems she absolutely adores Pokémon, though...
Generally, the only mainstay in her team is a member of the Sandile line named ‘Akantha.’ After that, her team will change based on the RP — but she tends to gravitate towards dark-types to fit her tough demeanour. All her Pokémon, however, tend to have rather gentle personalities.

A Link to the Outside World
A researcher in training, Grant Redwood, has devoted his focus to a line of work that most any other professor would deem silly — the existence of Pokémon that were never meant to exist. Beings that threaten the laws and logic of Pokémon to date, the focus of old wives’ tales and playground rumours for years untold. To set out to find the unfindable, to see the unseeable, and to capture the uncaptureable — and to show the world that these Pokémon exist just under the nose of the populace.
