As we previously reported, a pop-up Pokémon Center store is headed to London, England, later this year to celebrate the release of Pokémon Sword & Shield. The store will only be open for a limited time, from October 18th until November 15th, 2019 - the same day that Pokémon Sword & Shield release worldwide.

We now know that the store hours will be 10 AM to 10 PM Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 6 PM on Sundays. Plan your trips accordingly!

It’s also been stated that store will be fully accessible for guests of all abilities, and an elevator will be available for travel between floors.

It's that time again! March 17th is here, and that means we've officially completed another revolution around the sun.

Things have been pretty busy for all of us - and so we haven't really had the chance to put together anything particularly special this year (as you can probably tell by the fact we took this long to even make a post about it!). But nonetheless, existing for 16 years is an achievement of its own right - and with a new generation of Pokémon games just around the corner, we will probably have some interesting things in store this year regardless.
The official Pokémon Twitter account has confirmed that a new Pokémon Direct will be released tomorrow.

While no other details have been revealed the it seems likely that the direct will consist of 8th generation reveal, especially given this in celebration of Pokémon Day. Will we finally see the forthcoming Switch game? Well you better tune in to find out!

Earlier this week a brand new mobile game, Magikarp Jump, was released in Italy for iOS and Android. Today the game has finally been released in the US and the UK, as well as elsewhere across the globe.

We woke up to the news this morning that Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata, has unfortunately passed away during the weekend. Losing a battle with a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer that he has been struggling with for over a year.

Iwata’s contribution to the video game industry is practically immeasurable. Even before he was running the most recognisable and most cherished video game company in the world, he was a leading developer on the ground floor of some of Nintendo’s biggest hits and possessed a rare natural ability that would have made him one of the greatest forces in the industry whether or not he was in the top chair.

Born in Sapporo, Japan in 1959, Iwata’s very first game was a baseball game he programmed onto a pocket calculator at school, demonstrating early on the uncanny ability at programming and problem solving that would be seen throughout his career at Nintendo.

From there, he entered the Tokyo...
[So, this is a community project that took off on the forums a few days ago to Wonder Trade Halloween-themed Pokémon - it's a great idea, so I'll let Ruko explain more... -Teapot]

So, @DoggyEars had an idea to catch up as many Pumpkaboo as she can, give them rare candy and then Wonder-Trade them on Halloween. I've decided to follow suit and do the same thing and thought I'd post here to see if anyone else would like to join us, or perhaps just try to get a hold of one on halloween :)

At the moment we're thinking about nicknaming them, but don't have any particularly good ideas - if you can come up with any, feel free to post suggestions or even take from the suggestion pool to nickname your own.

Name suggestions I've liked:
