It has been announced that the 3D CG remake of Pokémon: The First Movie, Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution will be getting a home video release in the US.

Following a delay caused by the global pandemic, this year's Pokémon movie has narrowly avoided making this year the first since 1998 to not feature a new Pokémon movie release in Japan by sneaking in a new release date of the 25th December.

Pre-orders for tickets open this Friday and will come with codes for Pokémon Sword and Shield to receive the Shiny Celebi and the Mythical Zarude as Mystery Gifts. No details on the release of the movie or this Pokémon distribution have been announced for outside of Japan yet.

Today the Pokémon Company have revealed their plans for this year's Pokémon Day on the 27th of February.

The biggest news of all for the day is that a new Mythical Pokémon will be revealed. This Pokémon will be staring in the up-coming movie Pokémon the Movie: Coco and will be made available in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield for trainers to train.

Alongside the new Mythical Pokémon reveal, there will be a special Max Raid Battle running in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield as well as a new event in Pokémon GO. It has been stated that new information about Pokémon Masters will also be announced.

It has been announced that the latest Pokémon movie, Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, will be released exclusively on Netflix worldwide on February 27th.

The film is a 3D CG remake of Pokémon: The First Movie and has met a mixed reception among fans. A trailer for the movie can be seen above and showcases the English dub. The 27th of February also happens to be Pokémon Day, which makes this a nice treat for those looking to celebrate.

Last night the second trailer for Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution was officially released in Japan. You can check it out for yourself below!

This trailer showcases some Pokémon battles on New Island as well as Mewtwo in the armour given to it by Giovanni. The glimpse of the armour we see shows it as an updated version compared to the original Mewtwo Strikes Back movie. Armour aside it looks like the movie will be a fairly faithful remake of the original.

Overnight the first full-length trailer for the up-coming Pokémon movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, was released.

Recently a new poster and trailer was released for Pokémon Detective Pikachu, revealing a whole host of Pokémon that will feature in the movie and a slightly expanded look at its plot.
