Here's the official site.

So Sunday's announcement will be about Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Here are the logos:

Not much else to say. Let the excitement commence.
Pokemon Sunday, Japan's live action Pokemon catch up show has announced that they will be announcing something in their 'Game' section of the show next Sunday in a preview that also featured Gold and Silver inflatable balls adorning the set.

While there's no confirmation yet, obviously, the various hints towards it that have been running throughout Generation IV - and heating up with this summer's movie featuring the Johto starters and the Notch Eared Pichu - make it almost inevitable that a G/S Remake or Johto based game will be announced next week.

It's also been reported that Junichi Masuda, the sound director and overall director of the Pokemon games since D/P, will be making an appearance on the show next week to announce the game.

We'll make sure to keep you all updated on any announcement. In the meantime, with the probability of G/S remakes finally coming on their way (and presumably seeing...
A month late, but never forgotten! Even though certain life-related events have kept me preoccupied for the past month or so, I always intended to see this through.

So, now that's finally happening :)

A big thank you to Prof. Cinders who originally posted the Charms Day Haiku Contest for me while I was away on vacation. She also organized all of the entries, of which 15 have been approved for voting. They should all be fairly spot on Haiku-wise, but even if a couple aren't I let them go. If you entered the contest but do not see your entry posted, chances are it broke the rules far too much to be included. However, your participation was greatly appreciated, and I thank everyone who took the time to try.

Now, down to business. The 15 included entries can be found in the...
It's been reported today that Pokemon USA and Pokemon UK will be merging to become THE MEGAZORD Pokemon Company International. President Kenji Okubo, current president of PUSA will control PCI and will report to the main headquarters of the Pokemon Company in Japan.

Essentially, this means the UK is screwed for any more events. This new company will control the entire Pokemon franchise outside of Asia, while Pokemon UK was expected to control the whole of Europe and was incompetent at that to begin with. Most of Europe got a poor showing of any events, and even though the Shaymin event in the UK this Easter has been a pretty good run - it's a rarity and is looking to become even more of a rarity after this merger.

Now that the entire non-Japanese world is under the control of one single company, it's more or less guaranteed that the...
Granted, this event isn't one I can see many people here being able to go to since it's all the way over in Japan, but the magnitude of it certainly deserves a mention. With the arrival of Movie 12, known as Arceus: To a Conquering Spacetime, anyone who has pre-ordered tickets to see the movie will also be given a shiny Pichu, currently referred to as "Pikachu-coloured Pichu." It is Lv.30, holds an Everstone, and has the moves Charm, Endeavor, Volt Tackle and Charge. It will be available for download between June 19th and July 17th, again, only to those who have pre-ordered tickets for the movie.

OK, so that might not be what people expected from this, but Pichu isn't the only Pokemon being given away. As expected, being distributed at movie theatres from July 18th is the mighty Arceus, the star of Movie 12. It will be Lv.100 and will be holding the currently unavailable Rowap Berry, and like Darkrai...
Today, I had planned to launch this new design, a new upgrade to the forums and the brand new Pokedex. However, the Pokedex is lagging behind, and as such may not be finished for a while now as I've got a TONNE of other work to get done.

But, even though the Dex isn't going to be too forthcoming too quickly, I figured it was time to get this design and upgrade underway regardless.

This design is built to handle a lot more than the previous one and should be a lot more versatile - so I'm looking forward to keeping it fresh throughout the rest of the year.

Incidentally, the TCM's back up for now... we'll see how hard it hits the site for now - but hopefully it can stay up for a bit longer this time (especially as now I'll be spending less time working on the Dex and thus less time personally hammering the site myself).

This is stage one of a big upgrade to Pokecharms this year - and it is really needing it now - later in the summer, we'll be upgrading to a new server...
Canada got news of the Key first, but now it has been revealed that the entire of North America can get hold of this event item as well, as it has now been released via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection as well as at Toys 'R' Us stores across the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico. The Wi-Fi distribution is being held from April 20th until May 12th, and the Toys 'R' Us stores are holding events from April 19th to April 26th. This is a Platinum-only event, so players of Diamond/Pearl will not be able to acquire the Secret Key unless they have a copy of Pokemon Platinum.

Unlike other events, the Wonder Card that is received from this event can be sent over to other players, allowing them to get the Secret Key even if they are unable to attend an event or get the Secret Key via Wi-Fi.

More information regarding Rotom and the Secret Key can be found on Pokemon's official Platinum website at:...
You may remember an earlier post about this, so here's an update. The dates for the US regional championships have been announced (full info on the comment jump), and the existence of japanese, UK, french and german championships also announced - although the dates for these are still missing.

For all those who register for entry, a level 50 shiny milotic is also up for grabs - even if you don't make it into the championships themselves.

The official site also has information on the rules for the tournament, and more information on what to bring, etc. So get ready for battle, and good luck!

(Edit: As pointed out in the comments, the european dates are available. More info on the jump.)
While surfing GAME's official website, I noticed two things of interest.

One would be GAME's Pokemon Platinum pre-order deal, which is the exact same Giratina origin forme figure that has already been given away in a few other locations. Pre-order the game before May 22nd to score one of your own.

The other would be their "PokePets Win Prizes!" contest. From now until May 13th, residents of the UK & ROI can email pictures of their pets dressed up as Pokemon or decorated with a Pokemon theme to editor@game.co.uk - subject line being the same as the contest title. The prize pack for the best images includes a Nintendo DSi, Pokemon Platinum, Diamond, Pearl, Ranger 2, and both Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 titles. Be sure to click the url above and read all the rules if you're interested - an unhappy pet will see you disqualified.
I'm sure I'm not the only person to get upset about this.

We all wish you the best of luck, and we'll all miss you.
