There once was a small village of people living in Kanto. In that village was a young boy named Jinshin. The villagers constantly lived in fear of Pokémon attacking their home , it had already happened before. One day , Jinshin was playing with his sister , Suki , when he heard a very quiet cry of distress. He ran into the forest , the cry got closer , and closer. When he stopped running , he saw a tiny little creature with a bulb on it's back. Jinshin didn't even know how to react , the creature could barely hold up it's head. He ran home and grabbed some berries and mashed them into medicine. When he got back , he saw the creature was still laying there , injured ," Hello there little guy." he whispered nervously. "Eat up this medicine , then you'll feel better! "He said quietly, his hand shaking in fear. The creature slowly ate the medicine ," What's your name?" He asked the creature. It looked up and replied, "Bulba , Bulba ! ". Jinshin mumbled, " It's name is Bulba? That's peculiar.". Jinshin knew that the other villagers would never let Bulba into the village , so he waited until night. Then he snuck into the village with Bulba in his arms. He told Bulba ,"Wait here , don't let my sister see you!" as he stuffed Bulba under his bed. Suki walked in , she gasped" Jinshin! I was worried that you had gotten eaten by a pack of Arbok!". "Don't worry , in still alive." Jinshin replied. "Jinshin ,where were you?" Said a lady worriedly as he walked outside of the house. "Oh , hello Yoshimi" Surprised, Jinshin replied. Yoshimi smiled, "I wanted to give you this." Yoshimi handed Jinshin a small delicate bell , it had a very soothing melody. "What's this? " he replied. Yoshimi replied, "It's a soothing bell , known for it's lovely and soothing melody. You should be getting home now , when the sun fully sets , much more powerful pokémon come out. Walking into his small home, he said hello to his mother , Mikomi , and then walked into his room , closing the door quickly. "Hey Bulba , are you still there?" he asked. Bulba crawled out from under the bed , "I'm really sorry buddy , I got you some food though." he said as he handed Bulba 4 pieces of bread , Bulba grabbed the bread straight out of his hands. He giggled , "Good night Bulba" then he blew out his candle. The next morning , he looked under his bed , "Good morn-" then he realized that Bulba was gone. He ran into the forest , calling out Bulba's name. After a long time of running , he saw Bulba backed up against a wall with a large black dragon looking creature with a flaming tail. He ran towards Bulba and picked him up , hugging him tightly , "Leave Bulba alone!" he shouted loudly. The dragon roared loudly as flames flared up in his mouth. Then a large spear flew right past the dragon's face , barely missing it. It looked to the side , then flew off. Jinshin turned to the side and smiled , "Ikari , Han'i , I'm so glad to see you! " There you are Jinshin , but why are you holding a pokémon? Those things are dangerous!" Jinshin looked down at Bulba, he was shaking in fear , "How is this pokémon dangerous , it hasn't even used 1 attack! Can't it be a pet or something? Ikari lowered his spear , and sighed. "If you can prove to me that this pokémon can help the other villagers , he can stay at the village forever. " Yay! This is great Bulba! Now that I think about it , you look a little like a dinosaur , so I'll call you Bulbasaur!". Bulbasaur smiled , liking the new name that was given to him. Many years have passed , and it is now January 2004 , a young boy living in Kanto is walking through the forest with his Charmander , he looks down and sees a small , rusty bell lying on the ground. A large Venasaur walks out from the bushes , picks up the bell, and leaves.
