Pokéworld Episode 1

by UndeadRaptor13

UndeadRaptor13 This is the begging of a fanfic series I've been working on for a while. Let me know what you think, like or dislike. I'm very open to feedback and I love it when people enjoy my little series. Oh and if you see any errors in the story like typos or plot-holes please let me know.
A couple of days have passed since Kevin’s recovery from his near death experience. He still remembered the faint image as he was sinking deep into the river. He remembered seeing the faint outline of a small snake-like Pokémon as he was sinking and losing consciousness. Then he blacked out, and the next thing he knew, he was lying on the floor of the sea cave that Dratini and Dragonair made their home. He spent a few days there to recover from the shock and exhaustion under the care and protection of Dragonair and he found a good friend with the Dratini. After he felt well enough, he set off into the unknown wilderness of the Kalos region. Dragonair insisted that he stay with her and Dratini longer, and not set off on his own, but he felt strong enough to face whatever danger awaited him in the wilderness. It has been two days since Kevin left the care of Dragonair, and nothing has gone wrong so far. Kevin was searching for some place he could make a temporary home in, he was getting tired from exploring. As he walked along, he heard someone talking in the distance. His curiosity got the better of him, and he went to investigate what is was.

As he got closer, he could start to make out the words. “Well it couldn’t have gotten far, keep looking.” He heard a woman’s voice say. “How did it even escape in the first place? We had it locked in a cage.” He heard a man’s voice. “There are tw…” Kevin started to think to himself when he heard another voice. “Apparently that Eevee was smart enough to figure out how to unlock the cage door. I knew we shoulda’ kept it in something better. I can't believe we let a shiny Eevee get away from us.” “If I’m right…that’s a Meowth…” Kevin thought. “So there are 3 of them that I know of, and they are looking for an Eevee?” Kevin slowly walked into some brush to hide and spy on the group he heard. When he peeked out, he saw them. Two humans, dressed in white and black with a giant red R on the front of their shirts. The woman had red hair while the man had blue hair. He also saw the Meowth, who apparently could speak to the humans in their language without the use of telepathy. “Those people, especially that Meowth, are giving off a weird feeling to me. I think I should stay clear of…” “Hey! Jess, James, look over there!” Meowth pointed in Kevin’s direction. “I spotted somethin’ shiny hiding in that bush!” Suddenly all of them were focused on Kevin. “Uh-oh…” Kevin spoke out loud. “Time to go!”

Kevin retreated into the bush and quickly began to run away. He ran through the thick brush and around trees trying to lose the group known as Team Rocket. After a couple of minutes, he stopped, and listened. Everything was quiet. “Alright, I think I’m in the cle-” As he walked forward he was suddenly snatched up into the air by a hidden net. “Argh! What is this?!?” Kevin looked around and tried to squirm free of the net, but to no avail. After a couple of minutes of struggling, Kevin tired himself out. He heard something coming towards him. “Urgh, who’s there?!?” Team Rocked suddenly jumped out of the bushes and started reciting their moto. “Prepare for trouble!” “And make it double!” “To protect the world from devastation!” “To unite all peoples within our nation!” “To denounce the evils of truth and love!” “To extend our reach to the stars above!” “Jessie!” “James!” “Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!” “Surrender now or prepare to fight!” “Meowth, that's right!” “Huh, nice intro, but what do you creeps want with me?” Kevin asked them. “Hey, who you callin creep, you twerp?!?” Meowth yelled at him. Meowth was the only one who could understand Kevin. “Who are you calling twerp?!? Let me out of this net and I’ll show you twerp!” “Ha, doubtful. Youse aint getting outta that net anytime soon.” “Well what do you want with me?!?” “Youse bein a shiny and all, we could make a great profit sellin ya to the right person. So, that’s exactly what we’re gonna do, sell ya to some shiny collector.” “You’ve gotta be kidding me! Let me OUT OF THIS NET!” Kevin shouted. “Don’t worry, you’ll get outta the net when we get back to our camp. You’ll get upgraded to a double deluxe cage!” Meowth taunted him. Jessie and James took the net down with Kevin still in it and carried him off. But someone was secretly watching from some nearby bushes. A shiny Eevee, Josh, was peeking out of the bushes just enough to see what happened without getting spotted. “Oh no, those traps were meant for me. I’ve got to help that Zorua without getting myself caught.” Josh started to devise a plan to help Kevin.

Josh decided to wait until nightfall to try to sneak into Team Rocket’s camp and help save Kevin. The hours ticked by, and soon enough night had fallen. Josh had tailed Team Rocket back to their camp and had scoped it out. “They are holding him in that same cage they held me in, I don’t think they learned from that mistake.” Josh thought to himself. He snuck up to the separate tent that Team Rocket kept all their items and supplies in and peeked in. Kevin was asleep in the cage, but the cage was being guarded by an Inkay. Inkay was asleep to. “Ok, just gotta sneak in, nice and quiet.” Josh entered the tent and snuck past Inkay and to the cage. He opened the cage the same way he had when he was captured and whispered to Kevin, “Hey, wake up. Wake uuuuppppp!” Kevin stirred from his slumber and started to wake up. “H-huh...wha...” Josh quickly put a paw over Kevin’s mouth. “Shh! You don’t want to wake up the guard.” Josh warned and pointed to Inkay. “Come on, follow me out of here.” Kevin nodded and let Josh lead the way. As they were passing by the Inkay, it started to wake up. “Oh no, quick, get behind me” Kevin whispered to Josh. Kevin’s eyes flashed blue, and he suddenly transformed into an Inkay. “Wha…” Josh was amazed. “Shh!” Kevin warned. As Inkay woke up, he stared at Kevin with confusion. Kevin did his best to copy Inkay’s actions. Inkay eventually came to think that it was having a strange dream and lied down to sleep again. Kevin looked back, and nodded at Josh to head for the door. Once they were clear of the camp, Kevin changed back to his Zorua form. “What was that?!?” Josh almost shouted the question. “Just another illusion.” Kevin snickered. “What? But how did you…” “Don’t worry about how I did it…” Kevin interrupted him, “…right now, we need to get as far away from here as possible before they realize we escaped. Come on, and watch out for more hidden nets. I don’t want to get trapped again.”

Kevin started to lead the way but suddenly stopped, remembering that Josh was not a dark type. “Can you see alright? Do you need a moment to let your eyes adjust to the darkness?” “No, I’m fine. I adapt really quickly to situations like this.” Josh replied. “Ok, good. Do you have a name…?” Kevin asked. “Yes, I’m Josh. Do you have a name?” “It’s Kevin…my name is Kevin.” “Well, it’s nice to meet you, Kevin.” “Likewise.” A couple of hours had passed with just them walking. They had not encountered many other Pokémon and they were getting tired. It was the middle of the night. “Do you even know where we are going?” Josh asked. “I…uhh…no…I don’t…I don’t know this region. Sorry.” “Well, I guess I wouldn’t do any better. I’m new to this region to. The only reason I’m here is because of that crazy group back there. They planned to do the same thing to me that they wanted to do with you.” “I’m just glad you were still around to spring me out of there.” “Don’t mention it.” Josh started to slow down. “We need to find someplace safe to rest.” Kevin nodded. “I know…but where…” They looked around, trying to find someplace they could rest at. Soon Josh spotted an old abandoned house. “Hey Kevin, over here.” Kevin came over and looked at the house. “I think that’ll work.” Kevin said. They walked to the house and went inside. Once inside, they found a single large room with almost nothing in it. In the middle of the room were two pillows and a big blanket. “Perfect!” Josh said. “Yeah, that is perfect. We can sleep here for the night, but we should keep moving as soon as we’re up.” Kevin said.
