The Nuzlocke Challenge! Pokemon Hardmode!

Well, much progress has been made. I got another Badge, and I am training for the seventh. However, I regret to inform you all of the passing of two of my key team members, Lenny the Lombre and Fang the Mightyena. Lenny fell to May's Marshtomp(I believe it was a Critical Hit Take Down), and Fang went down via Winoma's Altaria, making her the first casualty during a Gym Leader battle. I have replacements, however, with Tropi, the Tropius, and Twinkle, the Chimecho. (Yes, a Chimecho on a Nuzlocke. And yes, I'm actually using it.) Meanwhile, Sandstorm the Trapinch and Scorch the Combusken have both evolved into Vibrava and Blaziken, respectively. Here's the team as of right now:

Today I all of a sudden got the urge to go really old school and play Yellow Version. So I decided to make a Nuzlocke out of it to make things interesting. I'll be using the same rules I used in my Sapphire run: Only catch the first Pokemon on the route, Box fainted Pokemon, no duplicate catches, fight every Trainer, and no running from wild battle. So far I have made it to Bill's House with 5 Pokemon and no casualties yet!

Spr_1y_025.png

VoltTackle, Met Pallet Town, Lv.5-17, Moves: Thundershock, Quick Attack, Double Team, Thunder Wave

Spr_1y_056.png

Wukong, Met Route 22, Lv.5-17, Moves: Scratch, Leer, Low Kick, Karate Chop

Spr_1y_016.png

Jace, Met Viridian Forest, Lv.6-17, Moves: Gust, Sand-Attack, Quick Attack

Spr_1y_021.png

Jack, Met Route 4, Lv.8-17, Moves: Peck, Growl, Leer, Furry Attack

Spr_1y_074.png

Domon, Met Mt. Moon, Lv.10-17, Moves: Tackle, Defense Curl, Rock Throw

I've done Nuzlocke challenges before. They're fun, except when i got stuck with a lvl 15 ghastly that couldn't do anything to normal types. :'|

Anyone who has pokemon x or pokemon y- maybe u can try a wonderlocke. Here are the rules:
1. Any pokemon who faints is considered dead and must be released/put in pc box and not used again in the game
2. you may catch one pokemon per route. That pokemon must be wonder traded away whether it be a magicarp or a mewtwo. if you have no pokeballs, you KO the pokemon, or it runs away, too bad. Not second chances.

About to take down E4. Here is my team!

I finally got around to finishing my Yellow Nuzlocke today. Sorry I haven't updated much, but here are the final results. I beat the Elite Four and Champion which makes this my second successful run! 2 for 2! ^_^

Arguably this run went better than my Sapphire run due to having less casualties (only three), but then I've played the Gen I games countless times to the point where even a Nuzlocke wasn't challenging. All three of my deaths were either because I intentionally sacrificed it for a better Pokemon, because a damn Electric rodent would rather beat itself up than its opponent (seriously, fuck confusion! D:<), or because I got cocky at the last minute.

My obtained Pokemon are listed below. If you don't see an area mentioned, it's because I was either too strong and killed it or because it was a duplicate (Ratatta and Pidgey being the biggest offenders).

Party
Spr_1y_057.png

Wukong, Met Route 22, Lv.5-51, Moves: Seismic Toss, Dig, Low Kick, Karate Chop

Spr_1y_018.png

Jace, Met Viridian Forest, Lv.6-51, Moves: Wing Attack, Agility, Quick Attack, Fly

Spr_1y_051.png

Nukus, Met Diglett's Cave, Lv.29-51, Moves: Slash, Cut, Dig, Earthquake
(I squeed so hard when Dugtrio was the first Pokemon I encountered given their rarity. I was more than happy to sacrifice Ratigan to catch it too)

Spr_1y_143.png

Teddy, Met Route 12, Lv.30-50, Moves: Double-Edge, Body Slam, Rest, Strength
(No other Wild Pokemon on the Route)

Spr_1y_131.png

Ness, Met Saffron City, Lv.15-51, Moves: Hydro Pump, Body Slam, Ice Beam, Surf
(Beat Silph Co before Fighting Dojo because I really needed a Water-type)

Reserves
Spr_1y_022.png

Jack, Met Route 4, Lv.8-38, Moves: Drill Peck, Mirror Move, Leer, Furry Attack
(The only Pokemon to be dropped from my party without dieing. I needed room for Ness and had to Flying-types. Since Jace knew Fly, Jack was the one to be dropped)

Spr_1y_081.png

Magnezone (original, I know), Met Route 10, Lv.16, Moves: Tackle

Spr_1y_041.png

Batty, Met Rock Tunnel, Lv.21, Moves: Leech Life, Supersonic, Bite, Confuse Ray

Spr_1y_084.png

All of my Pokemon are at lv. 50, and female, although I wanted a male Crobat, everything else is fine, so now it's time for Kanto!

I did a Flora sky nuzlocke, I lost. I had lost Aang the zigzagoon well I was grinding and Turtlocke the Turtwig could'nt stand up to the first gym, r.i.p., Turtlocke and Aang, my loyal companions.

I didn't evolve Eevee into Vaporeon because, well, I wanted a Lapras, and Bolts and Mozzarella make a pretty cute couple XD. Just kidding 'bout the last part.

Well, I got the 7th Badge, but it was not without loss. One of my main party members, Trika, was felled by Claydol's Earthquake. I basically sacrificed her to OHKO Xatu before it started setting up with Calm Mind. This led to victory with no other deaths, but still...I will dearly miss her. Especially since I have to face both a Water-Type Gym Leader and a Water-Type Champion without my Electric-Type Manectric. *Sigh*... :(

Update time. I now have all 8 Badges! And I can safely say that I did not lose anyone to Juan's Kingdra(thank God). How? I used Rare Candies and a few stat-boosting items to strengthen Sandstorm. She got to Level 45, and evolved into Flygon. Now, I knew that Kingdra had Ice Beam, so I was cautious. I actually started with Scorch(Blaziken) against it, figuring I could weaken it to half health. I accomplished it in 2 turns, although Scorch almost died. I switched to Sandstorm, got hit with a Water Pulse, and finished Kingdra off with a Dragonbreath. The rest were pushovers.

At this point, I'm not going to take on Victory Road yet. I have Waterfall now, so I can explore areas in more depth. Plus, there's Shoal Cave, which I have not yet explored at low tide. I'll do more training in these areas, then head towards Ever Grande City. Until next time!

I'm baaaaaaaaaack! It's been a while, so I started up a Ruby nuzlocke. It's the generation I've tried the most nuzlockes on, and I have yet to complete it, so let's see if I can do it this time!

Not really much to comment on, I'm at the start, and found a Ralts first on Route 102, which I'm very happy about!

Hey guys! I haven’t been on ‘Charms in a very long time..
My favorite thread has always been the Nuzlocke one, so I might as well start off here!

I’ve begun a Wedlocke on my Platinum version. For those who don’t know, a Wedlocke is like Nuzlocke, except You’re only allowed 3 Max on each gender in your party at one time and you have to make three pairs in your party, so that in any given battle you may only switch between those two Pokemon in the pair. It kind of makes any deaths a ton more soul-crushing when you think that they had a pokemon that depended on them…

Anyways, I began my journey with a Chimchar, MojoJojo. My first Pokemon of the first route, almost expectedly, was a female Bidoof I named Jo Biden. I never really understood the criticisms of Bidoof and Bibarel, they’re so perfectly-built for taking damage to heal a teammate for a turn, or even occasional sweeps. I would’ve had a Starly on the next Route, had Jo Biden not critical’d… My next catch was Farfel, the female Shinx. I decided that I’d pair her with Mojo Jojo, since Jo Biden, at least then, could handle herself just fine. On the way to Oreburgh I caught BoyWonder the male Zubat, to be Jo’s partner. BoyWonder didn’t make it out of the tunnel.

In the Oreburgh Mines I caught HMMM the HM-Slave Geodude, destined to Rock Smash his brethren or climb over them or just push them into a location of convenience.

In the Battle of Oreburgh, as I called Roark’s fight, poor HMMM was sadly KO’d by Cranidos. Quite ironic, considering that was the fight that’d complete his change from free wild Pokemon to an HM Slave. It’s kind of for the better he didn’t waste his life pushing things out of the way, I suppose.

On the way to Floaroma we met Willy, the male Psyduck. Jo Biden finally had a teammate, and I had a Rock Smasher. No sooner than we got out of the Rock Smashery tunnel than Willy was killed by a lucky-as-frick, five-crits-and-a-poison-in-a-row Wurmple. I felt awful; Jo Biden, my lovely little tanking rodent, was all alone. And then we met Napoleon, the male Kricketot. Jo Biden’s new partner in triumph.

We were doing pretty good for ourselves. I felt like this was a great turnout for my first-ever Wedlocke. We cleared out the Floaroma objectives with ease and then caught SamuelLJackson the Buizel. In Eternia Forest we then met Samuel’s wife, LaTanya the Buneary. We wrecked.

We wrecked everything. Eternia Forest? No problem. Eternia gym? What gym? oh, you mean that thing we just floored? Team Galactic base? It’s just about wrecked.

And then Jupiter.

Jupiter has never before caused so much anguish.

Never before has Platinum put a tear in my eye quite like the way Jupiter was able to in that dreaded tower.

To earn a bike and advance to victory, we had to help the Bike Guy save his Clefairy and some kid’s Buneary. I thought we had it in the bag. My pokemon were all at the very minimum 19. I knew Jupiter had a Zubat in their somewhere, so I could’ve just started with Farfel, now a very powerful Luxio. But, no. I started with Samuel L Jackson. Jupiter started with her Zubat. I immediately regretted everything. The Zubat was stronger than anticipated and got Samuel to the halfway mark. I had to switch to LaTanya for the Skuntank. She almost had it.

It was her victory. But just shy of poeticism, LaTanya, my dear Buneary, was sacrificed for the freedom of another Buneary(and Clefairy). It only took one Quick Attack to avenge her.

So that’s where we are now. Just ready to leave Eternia. One of our most promising teammates gone. Samuel without a . But just as the spirit is in Nuzlocke, it is in the Wedlocke. We must keep trudging on. Pushing forward. Fighting for the next badge (hahaha it’s Maylene I’m gonna die).

Have a wonderful evening, ‘Charms community.

Sorry that the colors always get messed up when I update. And that my updates are always long. I just can't help being FANCY. Alright, so since I said in the beginning that I was starting this one for Marriland, I will also be starting a White 2 Nuzlocke today! Wish me luck!

So I was bored, and I decided to start a Nuzlocke. I will be playing through Pokemon White Version with the following rules.
  • If a Pokemon faints, I must box it.
  • I may only catch one Pokemon per route.
  • I must catch the first Pokemon on any route, regardless of duplicates. (Exception: Gift Pokemon (Fossils, monkeys, etc)
  • I MAY NOT carry more than 10 healing items in my bag at all times.
  • I must toss or sell Revives.
There. I'll be starting with Tepig . . . now!

EDIT: The adventure continues. I have faced Route 1, caught a new friend, and showed N who he's dealing with. So without further ado, I give you . . . my team!

498.gif

Kai the Tepig, male.

-Tackle
-Leer
-Ember
Naive, highly persistent.

506.gif

Hugo the Lillipup, male.

Rash, quick tempered.

Deaths: None so far. :nom:

White Nuzlocke has failed horribly, why Lenora why.

ANYWAYS, I am now doing a Y Wedlocke. I have a naming theme, too - gemstones!

Da Rules:
  • Standard Nuzlocke rules.
  • Standard Wedlocke rules.
  • The last number of my Trainer ID determines my starter.
  • Gifts are OK.

My Trainer ID is 27327, therefore I get . . . Froakie! Stay tuned for more of Creeper Tortures Himself - A Y Wedlocke!

Well, I recently started a Heartgold walkthrough, and for the sake of my limited amount of readers, I won't spoil the ending. Here are my rules:

  1. Standard Nuzlocke Rules
  2. No legendaries, no matter what the circumstances.
  3. I'm allowed to use boxed Pokemon if I blackout/whiteout.
Fairly standard, and I'll spoil my starter- Totodile.

You may have noticed the generous amounts of links I've poured all over this post. *cough* Hint hint click click *cough*

Sadly my crystal file got deleted but I started a randomized saphire nuzlocke. I have one badge (Roxanne had a HARD Slakoth which didn't kill anybody but took my Spearow AN ETERNITY to defeat because he kept healing with potions and slack off an putting him to sleep, side note he put the rest of my team to sleep to, and a Lombre that would have killed my starter, Whismur, if my Nidoran's poison point didn't hit it earlier) I don't know my levels but I know they are all even and are either at level 14,15, or 16 and who cares what level my box pokemon are, I never use them
Party:
Michelle the Whismur
Ramses the Nidoran male
FEAR ME! the Spearow
Box:
Crystal the Spinirak
Bugsy the HootHoot
So meta the Metapod

Update! Brawly screwed me over. I blacked out, which means my main team (and crystal who became a flash slave/honorary team member), and my boxed pokemon had to step in, problem is, they are very under leveled, so it's time for some old rod grinding! Here's my pokemon, with levels this time.
Party:
Bugsy the HootHoot, Lv. 8
So meta the Metapod, Lv. 5
Box:
None, which means if I screw up I lose :(
Heaven:
Quacky the Lotad, Lv. 8
Ramses the Nidoran male, Lv. 14
Crystal the Spinarak, Lv. 9
Michelle the Whismur, Lv. 16
FEAR ME! the Spearow, Lv. 15

R.I.P my main team. Also I have a question, if a pokemon dies with a held item am I allowed to retrieve it? FEAR ME! was holding a Cheri Berry so I want to know

About six months ago, I had several failed attempts at LeafGreen randomized nuzlockes. Since my rule of thumb was that a blackout after the first badge means game over and I seem to really suck at this thing, I never got farther that Lt. Surge... who swept my party with his Dragonite's Aeroblast. And this was a run where my luck got me a party full of dragons T___T

At least those attempts were full of memorable shaningans. At the first attempt I randomized everything and included legendaries, so while I started with a Dragonite that only knew Hyper Beam, Brock had a Mewtwo who got me a fancy blackout. It was because of that that I applied the mecy rule of "it's only game over after the first badge" for later runs.

At another attempt, I caught a Shedinja on Route 23 and intended to make use of its Wonder Guard for catching new Pokemon without risking fainting. No more than a minute later, my first encounter on Route 2 was an Umbreon who killed it with Pursuit. Yep.

I'm playing Platinum at the moment and after that I plan a HeartGold unrandomized nuzlocke. Since this time I intend to finish the game, a blackout will just mean replacing the entire party. We'll see how it goes =___=

(again)Screw the Wedlocke. I'm starting an AS Nuzlocke.

So far, I am grinding to 10 in Petalburg Woods, and raging at Harden/Growl spam.

255.png

Tolen, Torchic M
[type]fire[/type]
Level 11
Blaze
Modest, thoroughly cunning
Scratch, Growl, Ember, Sand Attack
My starter. Definitely growing really quick so far, and his Double Kick's gonna be a huge help against Roxanne.

261.png

Polly Anne, Poochyena F
[type]dark[/type]
Level 8
Run Away
Lax, likes to fight
Tackle, Howl, Sand Attack
I like her. She's the only one on the team who's whole moveset (so far) is at least somewhat useful.

263.png

Abraham, Zigzagoon M
[type]normal[/type]
Level 6
Pickup
Relaxed, likes to thrash about
Tackle, Growl, Tail Whip
Pickup is nice, but this is probably gonna become an HM Slave.

280.png

Colin, Ralts M
[type]psychic[/type][type]fairy[/type]
Level 8
Synchronize
Timid, like to thrash about
Growl, Confusion, Double Team
ZOMG I FOUND A RALTS

265.png

Prince, Wurmple M
[type]bug[/type]
Level 6
Shield Dust
Timid, takes plenty of siestas
Tackle, String Shot, Poison Sting
Huh. I was honestly hoping for a Wingull here, but this will do. Not sure if I'll use him though, it depends on if I get a Nincada later.

276.png

Victor, Taillow M
[type]normal[/type][type]flying[/type]
Level 10
Guts
Bold, quick tempered
Peck, Growl, Focus Energy, Quick Attack
This guy took FOREVER to catch. I am using him for as long as I can JUST to see if there's a reason he was holding out on me.
Wheeeeeeee

Haven't played Nuzlock in awhile, my last attempts have been fantastic with no deaths. So I'm going to try again with Emerald.

Lando the Marshtomp lv 18
lucky you most of my pokemon have died on my y play through but things are lighting up because my delphox leveled up and now has mystical flame and physhock

I'm currently doing a platinum nuzlocke, I just beat Byron with gliscor @ amulet coin: earthquake, aerial ace, x scissor and swords dance; Infernape @ fist plate: close close combat, flame wheel, taunt and Mach punch; roserade @ miracle plate: petal dance, giga drain, stun spore and toxic spikes; gyarados @ splash plate: Aqua tail, bite, ice fang and surf; gengar @ spell tag (modest!!!) shadow ball, focus blast, mean look and confuse ray; and porygon-2 @ magnet: psybeam, signal beam, discharge and recover. The main question is I have an eevee with a neutral nature that I haven't evolved yet. I want to use an eeveelution late-game because of how reliable they are but I just have no clue what to evolve it into. I have so many pokemon in the back to compete with it like kirlia for espeon, magmar/ magmortar for flareon, adamant buizel for vaporeon and pikachu for jolteon. I'm kinda leaning towards glaceon but I might get a Swinub or snover. I'm kinda leaning hyper offensive team-wise and it's worked sucessfully (1 death which was a bidoof that I had to sack) so no umbreon. So I might get leafeon but can't do much without sd. So what should I do?( btw name-theme is ssbm players like mango, leffen, ppmd, plup, etc).

Well,I did a Soul Silver Nuzlocke a few days ago.It went well, deaths didn't exist until post-game, but I raged against Red.He killed my Azumarill(named Nexus, get it?), and it was there a long time.I only raged for 3 minutes after Red killed it.Other than that, it went perfectly fine.

...So it's been over a year since I have updated my Emerald Nuzlocke. This is because I am on break from it for an undeterminable amount of time, until I decide to continue it or quit. In the meantime, i have started another Nuzlocke, this time for Soulsilver, and I've already gotten a badge! Here's my progress thus far:
