On this page we'll detail all the information about the Player Search System which is being introduced in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y as it's revealed.

General Information

The Player Search System will work a lot like the C-Gear does in Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 in that it allows you to battle and trade Pokémon through local wireless with friends, however the PSS will also allow you to quickly battle and trade with friends and people you've never even met before through Wi-Fi too. The PSS will also sync to your 3DS' friends list, which should make things even easier for players wanting to battle and swap Pokémon. The PSS can be found on the bottom screen of the 3DS and you can choose to have it always connected (even to Wi-Fi), or turn it off completely, again much alike the C-Gear.

Trading

Trades will work pretty much the same way they do in the fifth generation games, with players being able to choose the Pokémon to trade from their party or PC boxes.

Battling

The PSS will allow players to select from a number of different types of rulesets to make for an exciting selection of styles for players to choose from. The PSS will also allow players to select the music they wish to play during the battle, a first for the Pokémon series.
