• Welcome back to Pokécharms! We've recently launched a new site and upgraded forums, so there may be a few teething issues as everything settles in. Please see our Relaunch FAQs for more information.
This roleplay is going to be a non-canon, light-hearted, alternate universe collaboration between me and @Nygenn set in a medieval kingdom with royalty, knights, villagers, and a vast, beautiful meadow landscape to explore.

Here, you will be roleplaying as gijinkas, or anthropomorphic Pokemon, or humans with pokemon traits, or whichever term you prefer, which allows characters to have a limitied set of special abilities based on what species they are, and is the main reason for this roleplay being non-canon; meaning, if you have a mainstream character you'd like to play as, you don't need to include this roleplay into their history the next time you join a different roleplay, and any events that transpire here is irrelevant to their original selves.

The Kingdom of Suimera is a beautiful utopia where pokemon of all types live in harmony, although, to be honest there are some... Prejudice, against delinquent types such as Darks, Ghosts, and Poisons. But otherwise, it's a place worth visiting. The streets are paved with stones, and the town is neatly planned, with beautiful fountains in nearly every roundabout, bountiful shops and eateries to fraternize and splurge in, narrow alleys to take you around to gorgeous secluded locations that may be unknown to the rest of the world, a bustling marketplace where you can find most any good, a grand library, and the massive town square where festivals are held.

Though be warned of the seedier areas in the west, known as Delinquent Town, where the Darks, Ghosts, and Poisons hold higher power. It is an infamous red light district known for theft, gambling, battling, and adulterous fun. Rumor has it, gang activity and illegal goods circulate there as well.

On the outskirts surrounding the south and east of the town are where the farms lay, with acres of fertile meadow abundant with flowers through spring and summer to plant or raise livestock on, and lakes in the southeast. The kingdom is on high elevation, surrounded by a scenic mountain range covered in forests as far as the eye can see, with a narrow trail that leads out of kingdom borders. Rivers are abundant, flowing through farmlands, and the palace in the north, which is separated from the town by a strip of forest, and a winding trail to its gates.

The palace is the pinnacle of the kingdom's beauty, with ivory towers and marble pillars, it stands tall and elegant for all to behold. Within its sturdy walls are a vast land containing a small town of itself; nucleated layers of housing for royal guards, and knights of the court, with the guards in the first layer, up the steps to the knights in the second, and finally, the palace in the third, and highest ground. With lush, rolling gardens, it holds a luxurious view of the entire kingdom from its elevation. Servants (including maids, butlers, chefs, and groundskeepers) reside in the mess hall within the palace itself.

Within the count of weeks, a big festival and ball is being prepared in honor of the eldest prince's coming of age ceremony, and coronation. Farmers will be busy delivering farm produce, villagers decorating and setting up the town square, and servants, setting up palace.

Crime activity has spiked significantly, sabotaging preparations for the ceremony, festival, and ball with all the theft and vandalism they are committing! Delinquent Town is under strict supervision by knights as a result. As are most Poisons, Ghosts, and Darks. Well, more than usual, anyway.

There will also be a third plot point that will be revealed further along the roleplay's progression.

This is mostly going to be a side roleplay for me, thus I leave all creative liberties to the roleplayers. Independent quests and story arcs will be greatly encouraged, although closely supervised by Nygenn and myself, and must revolve around and/or include the ongoing events of the festivity preparations (later transitioned into enjoyment of the festivities themselves), and thefts.

And now, for the rules;
  1. You must read and be familiar with The Pokemon Roleplay Rules.
  2. You must be able to write at least 2 hearty paragraphs per post with proper spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation.
  3. No legendary Pokemon or Fakemon anthropomorphs.
  4. Romance, violence, and adulterous activities are allowed, but within measure, given the nature of Charms.
  5. You must always consult either Nygenn or I when planning to venture into Delinquent Town, or the palace (if you are a villager or farmer). Otherwise, you are free and encouraged to venture anywhere you please.
  6. You are limited to only a maximum of two special abilities according to your pokemon species. (Ex. fire manipulation, flight, telepathy, etc.)
  7. The king and queen are off limits.
  8. If a player does not respond within 7 days of an interaction IC, other players are free to bypass said interaction and move on.
If you feel you have complied to these criteria, then here is the character form:

As an additional note:
I shall be playing as the thief, while Nygenn will control the crown prince. Said characters will count as NPCs.

If you have further questions, please feel free to ask, or if you're interested, post your form below. :) I'll probably make the actual roleplay thread once we have a considerable amount of players on board to ensure plenty of interactions amongst each other.

Special Plot Characters
Name: Salem Tempus Delago
Nickname(s): Marked one, Blessed, Sun Prince, Rain Maker.
Age: On the verge of turning 21
Gender: Male
Species: Dragonair
Occupation: Crown prince of Suimera
Theme Song

Personality:
Friendly, open, engaging, confident, liberal and inspiring are some of the words many of the citizens of Suimera would use to describe their prince. Foolish, naïve, too trusting, whimsical, and careless are words that many others would use instead. With the prince his coronation approaching rapidly, these differences of opinion often spark heated debates. Some say his traits would make him a great and benevolent monarch, while others would argue him to be unfit for the challenges in times of strife and turmoil.

“Anyone can rule during peace time after all.”

Whatever anyone believes, the fact remains that all of these words apply to the crown prince rather well.

Salem is a free spirit possessing endless positivity and is always active in one form or another, and this is probably a good thing considering the weather of kingdom is rumored to be closely linked to his mood.

“Today must be a sad day for the prince,” people say when it is particularly bad weather, or, “his majesty smiles on us,” when it is bright and sunny. Not everyone believes these stories of course, but the words are spoken and the rumors persist.

The sad truth is that not many get to see the Marked one very often, if at all. Court politics and royal security keep the prince neatly confined to palace grounds. Granted this provides him with more than enough room to run, dance, swim, and pursue his martial training, but it does limit his freedom, and lately that has started cultivating a deep longing inside the young royal.

A cage is still a cage, no matter how spacious or gilded.

Appearance:
Salem is of average size in this word of wildly diverse individuals. Standing roughly 6 feet tall and weighing a healthy 180 pounds, he can blend in well enough with any crowd. That is, if it hadn’t been for his more eccentric features.

The prince is blessed with a lean swimmers physique and handsome features, and being of the Dratini line the majority of his, rather pale body, save the face, chest, and the insides of his thighs, are covered in millions of minuscule scales. These soft scales are blueish in color and reflect the sun’s light as generously as the surface of a lake would.

Extending from his backside is an almost 8 feet long and sleek, prehensile tail, of which the top and sides are also covered in those same glimmering scales. At the end this appendage are two, fist sized, translucent pearls of a dark blue color.

His face is well defined with light, sea green eyes and full lips, allowing for gentle smiles. In the center of his forehead he sports a marble white horn which stands in stark contrast to his lengthy, flowing, and dark blue colored hair. This hair is parted on both sides of his head by the soft, white colored, foot long wings accentuating his ears, and embedded into his skin, at the base of his throat, the prince has a blue gem, similar to the ones at the end of his tail.

Finally, Salem’s torso is covered in shining blue tribal markings, representing the blessing of Suicune. These markings sometimes glow with their own light, in particular when the prince is making use of his more mystical gifts.

Clothing:
Being of the royal family has the perk of having access to fine clothing of finer quality. Even though many of the nobility make generous use of this privilege, Salem often dresses lightly in flowing robes and soft cloth. That is not to say that his limited garments couldn’t comfortably provide for several families of course.

History:
Salem was still only a young Dratini when Suicune, the legendary guardian deity of the country, last passed through the land. It came to bestow its blessing upon a worthy soul, incidentally marking that one soul the future monarch of the kingdom. Had Salem been born a few years later, he would have missed the passing of the legend and it would surely have been one of his cousins that would now be next in line for succession.

Sometimes Salem wished this had been the case, for it would likely have granted him more freedom, but who could say for certain? Who would dare to presume the actions and intentions of the great guardian after all? Perhaps there would have been no blessing at all, or perhaps the passing would have occurred later, no one could really tell.

The fact is that Salem had been chosen and marked, and it has been hanging over his head like the fabled sword of Damocles ever since. The young prince coped well enough of course. His boundless energy and inexhaustible enthusiasm made him take to life with a gusto rarely seen in anyone, let alone a clipped bird.

He focused dutifully on his studies, of which he clearly held the most aptitude for the physical ones, until he began to develop his latent mystical abilities. To these he took with natural talent, and it was not long after this that the rumors of the prince’s influence over the weather began to spread.

Throughout his life thus far, Salem has always been interested in seeing more of the outside world, and he was always immensely fascinated with the day to day activities of the common folk. He would pester the guards for stories, and beg the servants to smuggle in some items. Some would comply, and some would not, such was life, but no matter his treatment Salem always graced everyone with the best of his smiles.

For the more he smiled, the less lonely he felt.

Special Abilities:
Unconfirmed to most, prince Salem inherited the rare ability of the Dratini line to exact control over the weather. For a long time he himself was unaware of this ability and enjoying the air of mystery, he kept it a secret when he did finally figure it out.

As is common for those of Dragon descent, Salem has good affinity with the natural elements; fire, electricity, grass, and water in particular. He learned how to manipulate these forces and anyone seeking to harm him with these types would be met with severely limited success.

Finally, the future king seems to possess and extremely strong constitution, making him resistant to most status ailments. On top of this he has the ability to cure any such ailments at will, in himself, but more surprisingly in others as well. Some speculate this to be an added effect of the mark, while those that are more spiritual believe the man to have a special destiny.
Name: Cassandra De L'allée
Nickname(s): Miss De L'allée, Heart Thief, Alley Cat
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Species: Liepard
Occupation: Thief
Personality: Silent, precise, controlled, and calculated are four words you might use to describe Cassandra. An enigma to perceive and behold, she is a puzzle with blank pieces that befuddles and teases with her reserved, closed off ways. She chooses carefully those to share her secrets with, if at all, but more often than not, her lips are tightly sealed. A lone wolf in her ways, she does not work with others, but rather, manipulates others to her will. Everyone and everything are mere tools to her own survival, and never the other way around.

Beneath that debonair smile and alluring energy is a heartless, cruel, and selfish creature with a bitter heart, and grim outlook on life. Detached and apathic, hardened and broken by the years gone by, a lonesome orphan in Delinquent Town. Corrupted by evils and knowing only evils, life has taught her from a young age that it's eat or be eaten in this big bad world. As such, she is spiteful and vindictive beneath her toothy grin, and will stop at nothing to get what she wants, no matter how low she must stoop. However, she is methodical and perfectionist in her ways; carefully planning one move to the next. She retains a cool head and temper always; a facade that hides a tattered mind and a broken soul, gripped by spite and unbridled pain. She plays her part as cat burglar to the tee; stealthy, cunning, fluid, and graceful, she resembles a dancing shadow. One moment there, and the next, gone.

At home in the darkness, Cassie operates in the night time, when every corner casts a shadow and every shadow hides a bounty. Some may call her nocturnal, for she is rarely seen in the daytime. But in truth, her eyes seldom find rest in the clutches of insomnia. As darkness avoids the light, Cassie has a strong dislike of fire.

Devastatingly clever, Sandra takes pride in her ability to outwit and out-strategize even the sharpest of knights, relying heavily on her quick thinking, resourcefulness, and creativity. She is tactical, professional, and eloquent; a gifted liar with a silver tongue that allows her to talk her way out of any situation, and steal as many hearts as she pleases. Leaving behind a string of broken hearts. That being said, she is flighty, and very easily bored. Emotions and interests are fleeting, so she must always chase it, often leading her to cause, or get herself in trouble. She loves her thrills, dangerous situations to get her blood pumping, and adrenaline driven activities to grasp those split second highs of ephemeral emotion to fill the void within her. Even for a moment. Always moving from one shiny object to another, but once possessing it, leaves it behind. Living from one thrill to the next.

History: Born from parents of two different species, Cassandra received the short end of the stick by inheriting her father's Dark typing, and soon found herself alone and wandering the seedy streets of the infamous Delinquent Town as a young Purrloin. Making her way around life was no easy feat, especially since she was taken in by a criminal instead of a knight (life in an orphanage sounded nice, she sometimes thought). Raised as a street urchin, Cassandra grew up picking pockets and deceiving folk for food and money using her Purrloin charms. She would bat her big, round eyes, and people bowed to her will.

Her daily routine would often consist of wandering the village with other Street urchins in order to snatch valuables from stalls or pockets, and depositing her earnings to the 'big boss', as she would refer to her guardian, for stale food and a place to sleep. She is literate however, and had learned to read and write from peaking into schoolhouses every now and again. Essentially being made for stealing, Cassie quickly became the best thief and pickpocket on the kingdom streets after the few couple of years she's been living on it, and upon her entry into adolescence, became the cat burglar who can find her way in and out of any establishment. And life was good. She was treated well by the head honcho of her crime house, the man who had taken her in, but the feeling of commitment never sat well with her.

Thus, after her evolution into a Liepard at the end of her adoesecence, Cassie decided it was time to leave the house's care, parting on good terms with the head honcho, she was able to sustain herself from the skills she had acquired and honed, and has acted for her own personal interest since, which had not been very long. Cassandra does not have a permanent place of residence, and is often moving around from one tavern to another, but few can identify her as the phantom thief of Suimera, as no one has ever seen her in the act. She claims to not think of her parents, as rumor has it, they had long skipped town and died on their way to a neighboring kingdom.

Appearance: Cassandra is a petite girl, standing at only 5'3 and weighing 110 lbs with an athletic build. Toned, and lean, but still on the slender side with a few curves. She has olive skin, glowing silver eyes with vertical slit shaped pupils, and dark, wild wavy hair with a violet undertone that is cut into a bob just above her shoulders.

Her ears stand erect on the top of her head with violet fur and pink inner sides, similar to the pinkish hue of her eyelids. Her tail is long and slender with the signature sickle-like end which helps her retain balance and obtain hard to reach items.

Cassandra has sharp claws, of which she is very proud, with her hands resembling paws somewhat, and covered in smooth, yellow fur all the way up to her forearms. Similarly, her feet are also covered in yellow fur all the way up to her knees, and on her shoulders and back, where her fur creates ring patterns.

Within the cover of darkness, she often flashes her pearly white fangs. Aside from her eyes, they are the only features distinguishable in the inky black of night.

Clothing: She wears a gold colored corset over a dark violet shirt with formfitting, elbow-length sleeves and wide collar that hangs on the edges of her shoulders with a thick belt around her waist to hold her knives and pouches. Her pants are formfitting and violet in color, though rolled up all the way above her knees.

In addition, Cassandra dons a dark violet, feet length cloak to hide the flashy yellows of her fur and corset, and allows her to better blend into the shadows. The edge of the cloak's hood does have streaks of pink and yellow in them, which had been a result of accidentally falling face first into cloth dye at a textile factory. It has, however, become tattered from the many excursions it has seen over the years, and now has multiple ringlet shaped rips and holes on the back which would often reveal the gold corset underneath, creating the illusion of a leopard print pattern. For a close visual reference of her clothes, refer to this.

Special Abilities: Cassandra is incredibly limber, being quite an acrobat and free runner to traverse the road less traveled when coming in and out of houses or running away from guards and knights. She is also a master of stealth and speed, seemingly able to vanish and reappear.

Accepted/Active Characters
Name: Gerald Des Appoint

Nickname(s): Gerald, "The Growlithe"

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Species: Growlithe

Occupation: Gerald makes money doing various odd jobs and chores for townspeople. He takes any and all currency, from actual money to food. Anything that he can use in everyday life he'll take as payment.

Personality: Easily swayed and gullible, Gerald here just wants to help everyone out. Unfortunately, this makes him very easy to manipulate and play right into anyone’s hands. This has made him a popular target to pickpocket, yet the boy never even pieces the parts together, instead believing that he simply misplaced the cash elsewhere.

In any case, these traits never hamper his optimistic attitude, which can get grating eventually, especially since he can be rather chatty if you give him the chance. He could rant on for hours about his life, from the mundane aspects to the slightly exciting ones.

One last note: While it does somewhat tie into the first thing, Gerald is very loyal. If you catch his trust (Which isn't hard) he'll likely prioritize helping the trusted one out.

History: The Appoint family were once a powerful bloodline, proud and rich in heritage, from species like Arcanine, Ninetales, Delphox, and other majestic fire canines. Though, somewhere, Dark type blood was mixed in, likely from a Houndoom and a rebellious soul from the family. Slowly but surely, the ranks of the Appoints became a twisted tree, and fell from their graceful abode, their genealogy littered with petty thieves and con artists rather than the respected lords and knights before them.

In a final attempt to rekindle the family traits of old, the two most pure blood of the remaining family were brought together to produce a child, an Arcanine for the mother and a Ninetales for the father. The child turned out to be a Growlithe, who was promptly named Gerald, after one of the parent’s great-grandfather, a renowned warrior.

Sadly it became clear the boy was not truly ever going to amount to a knight, or anyone important, at least in the parent’s eyes (They should’ve expected it with that name…). They went their separate ways and left the boy to the old woman who had the idea of making the child in the first place, and her assistant. A Delphox and a Murkrow, respectively.

However, this Delphox was more than happy to house Gerald, having fond memories of raising children herself, and still seeing potential in the boy. The Murkrow was rather indifferent, never actually having a child himself, but agreed in the end. After all, what other job would be available for the Crow?

Over the years the old witch taught Gerald the values of chivalry and being a nice person in a sheltered life style. Of course, these lessons had something to do with his eventual personality...The crow took it upon himself to teach the young man minor magic, though the best the Growlithe ever managed was a small ember.

But over time the age of the fox caught up to her, falling terribly ill. Even worse, the village’s economy had taken a massive dip, and most medicine shops had closed up to move onto other towns and settlements, and even in the ones that remained, none of them had the proper treatment to deal with what plagued the witch.

The only option left was sending someone out to the next town over to get the ingredients. The assistant claimed that he was much more fit to stay with the Delphox, and that Gerald would have to be the one that would go to the next kingdom over, which was much more financially stable and would no doubt have the medicine needed. Then he'd have to stay, as recovery would take several months and more doses of the medicine according to the Crow. The boy was instructed to buy the required herbs every two weeks and send them back to

And so Gerald left the safe limits of the place he called home, towards the nearby kingdom of Suimera, with only his knowledge, a dagger (Which he's never found a use for, unsurprisingly), and a good amount of money for food, a home, and the medicine, among other things. Of course, when that was quickly depleted, he began taking whatever small jobs he could to support himself.

He's been dwelling in a small alleyway "apartment" big enough to house a bed and a few cabinets for a month or so now. Not that he's complaining: He's quite happy where he lives.

Appearance: Gerald's hair is a wispy and knotted mess, a very dull tan, not unlike the Growlithe's fur tufts he's based on, and his skin is a light tan. He's stands around 5"8, has a pair of hazel colored eyes, and opening his mouth reveals somewhat sharp yellowed teeth. He's not particularly well built, but he never had to fight before, so he sees no issue. The last prominent features he displays is a bushy tail that protrudes not quite far out, and a pair of ears that stick out noticeably from his hair.

His clothing consists of a light orange overcoat with three black stripes on the back of it, and a sleeveless black thin shirt under it. His pants are black as well, and only reach to his knees. Think this, but black.

His soles are defended by sandals, which are thin from constant wear.

Special Abilities: As previously mentioned, Gerald can create a small yet warm ember, and being a Growlithe, possesses a good sense of hearing and smell.
Name: Que Allein
Nickname(s): Que, for the creative, and Que, for the dull and boring. Although I'm trying to figure out how to fit the verb 'quell' into his name. It's just so fun to say.
Age: 18 or so. Old enough to give some shock value when people find out he's really not much of an adult. Or even close.
Gender: Male
Species: Er... that fuzzy thing. Espurr. Yeah.
Occupation: He makes pottery that rarely sells. That should count. Sure.
Personality: I'm really tired of writing these out, so let's try something new.

I see ghosts.

Everywhere, I can feel them, I can sense their presence, their demeanor's, their emotions, I can feel the blood that used to run in their veins as if it was my own. Maybe they aren't ghosts. Maybe they're real, in some sense of the word. Have.. substance of some kind. Maybe they're as real as I am. Or maybe I'm as much of a ghost as they are.

Reality has a way of disappearing, shifting, changing, never really being real. I'm tormented constantly by a great white noise, a constant tremolo, a wrathful river of sound like a binding encasing me from the rest of the world, a barrier between me and them. I have power that I don't understand- power that scares me, because I seem to have it only with the rise of emotion. Power that I know no one else with. I've hidden it away- I'm always trying to hide it away, trying to shield the white noise and emotions from my head with a hat or a bundle of hair. I don't like it- I want it to go away, I want to stop seeing emotions everywhere I go or advertising my fragility to the world.

I hate this feeling. This energy. It wants to encapsulate me, swallow me, destroy me.

And oh, how I despise emotion. A long time ago I was younger than I am now, and it was a time of blankness, a time where I couldn't see and I couldn't hear but I could feel everything, every thread of stress, every bond of love and tremor of hate, and the world was a swirl of darks and lights and grays but never color, just emotion, overwhelming, terrorizing, I can feel it now, its strength, its power, its bondage, its corruption, and I swear I'll never bow beneath it. It surrounds everyone, tags them, drags them down.

I can think of nothing more terrible than the bondage of emotion, so I've kept mine hidden, far away. It's a tool, and only the most primeval use it just to use it, and the world is a primeval place that's never really grown old. We live in a toddler world. It's irrational. It's young. We're wild.

And yet it arises, a book I can never keep closed. I hate it. I loathe it. It overwhelms me until I'm not me. It overshadows all thought, it chains me down. Someone please teach me how to escape it. I don't know how long I can live not knowing my next move, or word, or thought.

I like predictable. Constant. Unchanging. I like puzzles, with finite solutions, things to keep my mind busy so I don't have to pay attention to the ghosts around me. I like tying knots and untying them again- I like the power I feel in making a situation grim, and then releasing it from its bonds.

There's something queer about social conduct that I don't really understand. Respect, I believe people call it.

I don't know why I'd respect anyone.

We live in a world where everyone is wild in some way- savage, terrible, unpredictable.

Why should I respect anything like that?

I've learned to be deathly calm in the face of anything, to be a face with an empty slate. There's a certain key to it- one part not caring, another acting as if everything is simply a piece and nothing more. I find pleasure in the simple actions, like sitting with my hands on my knees and my feet pulled close to my thighs or grinning in the face of the curious, confused, or whoever I happen upon. I like reading- I've been a thief for many a book, so few do we have at home, although I have to admit I'm not the best at not getting caught. Then again, neither was the book thief. She was a curious little girl. I wonder if she saw ghosts like I do.

I make pottery, of a sort. I love the feeling of mastering the clay on the little round wheel, bending it to whatever shape I choose, although I've heard tale that others don't appreciate their less than functional use, for I care little of what it should be and try to shape it into how I see the world. Ghosts, emotions, the terrible wildness of it all. I don't expect any appreciation. I don't really care about other people.

I go outside as little as possible, finding futility in banter and friends, although it pains me to no end to be alone. But staring at the bustle from our shutters will do, and there's more puzzles outside than I could possibly imagine.

If you come inside, please watch your step.

I might not be real.

And you, certainly, are not.

History: Basic stuff. Single mother, a Meowstic, workaholic odd job girl, never really at home. But there was the benefit of a steady income, and she worked hard to ensure that her child wouldn't grow up without a source for food. In fact, she did so well that the two have scored a rather nice home for him to grow up in. Such a shame that she was never actually there.

The home soon grew rather infamous as, in such a bustling, rather friendly part of town, it was the only home on the street to always have its door locked and shutters closed, to always be dark. No one ever came in or out except for the Meowstic late at night and early in the morning, and, in the years when the boy was around five or six, there grew a numerous cascade of thumps and an eerie purple light gleaming from the windows, adding to the creepiness of the house. In addition, it was very poorly taken care of, and stood out with a darkness away from the rest.

Some neighbors tell tales of a boy who lives inside who sees ghosts and has such sinister magic that he can make you believe a reality that doesn't exist, but only a select few have seen him leave or enter the house, despite the fact that he can't help but go outside come time when there was a mystery even the town couldn't solve, or a festival about to occur.
Appearance: Oh joy.
Let's start with the fact that I have no clue what height is appropriate, so..... someone give me an acceptable number and it should work XD Now, onwards.

His skin is so pale it appears translucent, and beneath it run thick veins and arteries of blood that appears a greyish purple, tinting the skin itself in long, winding, fractal like figures across his body to a ghastly grey yet purple-ish sort of hue, an incredible difference from his normal, pasty, unblemished white. There's a distinct slouch to the boy when he stands so that he appears slightly shorter than he is and looms in a queer sort of manner, and he has small, thin lips. His eyes seem to have sunk back into their sockets and are a strange sort of blue that appears almost platinum, surrounded by a pinkish purple tinge infecting the whites of his eyes. His hair is long and overgrown in a curly sort of pure white mess that seem dispirited upon his skull but is relatively fluffy all the same, doing well to conceal his rather large purple ears that hang upon themselves, in the manner that the restraint Pokemon's source of power must do. He has a short, feather like tail. More of a mass of fluff than anything else. He's rather gaunt, with little to no muscular strength, and dark, hollow cheeks.
Clothing: Notably, the boy is always seen... well, scratch that, not really seen, but is always wearing a simple grey hat that droops into long tassels and is large enough to be pulled down over the eyes, so that, without interference, it hangs over the sockets in a manner that interferes little with sight but gives a sort of brooding appearance. Less notably, because I find clothing to be supremely boring unless it serves some awesome purpose which it kind of does here so, I guess, relatively the same notably he wears a long sleeved, light grey shirt that hangs upon his frame and yet circles tightly across his neck and long, loose grey pants with dusty white socks, rarely ever accompanied by shoes. Although I really don't know anything about the time zone so any of this is subject to change. Please proceed to clap slowly for my ignorance.
Special Abilities: This is where it gets fun. And maybe controversial. I dunno. None of this might work, but I might as well throw the original idea out there. But anyways, I've always seen the Espurr line as two incredibly different yet incredibly powerful psychic powers- that of outward psychic strength in the female, and that of inward in the male. As seemed only fitting, Que is attracted to more of the spiritual side of things, being able to strongly sense the emotions of others around him without consciously trying to do so, although, between the constant mufflers he has tried to achieve and the refusal to practice these psychic attributes, the position of these emotions is rough and vague, and they overwhelm him if he tries to focus further on the appearance or position of their creator. He does, in fact, see ghosts as a side affect of this power, although it's debatable whether or not he is truly seeing dead spirits or his mind is making things up that seem just as real as reality. Secondly, and really only in times of emotional distress and hopefully as my willing tool for tone setting, Que can create fragile yet intense barriers, but these he is unable to control, and they end up either dissipating or being used as an extension of his emotions to push things and people away.
Name: Diana
Nickname(s): Ana
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Species: Arbok
Occupation: Dancer/Entertainer
Personality:
Diana tends to appear calm and collected. She typically does not react to situations rashly, but instead seeks calm resolution. At the same time, however, her consistent intonation makes it hard to tell whether or not what she says is truth or lies.

When meeting strangers, her first instinct is to break away from personal barriers and wrap her arms around them, binding them in a hug. She's found with enough intimate behavior that friendships become personal, and blossom much more.

History: Despite having a family that didn't come from much money and too many mouths to feed, Diana thought of herself as fortunate. Her favorite hobby was dancing, and it just so happened that her hobby could also earn good coin for her and her loved ones.

Diana was born and raised in the western side of Deliquent Town, where most of her days were spent at a seedy bar called The Playground. The Playground had some very loose rules about conduct, which made it very easy for Diana to convince them to let her perform there for tips. Despite being a rundown old bar, it was the perfect place for all the washed-up and deprived to throw both their money and their lives away for a good drink and an hour or two of entertainment. Diana learned quite quickly that all walks of life ended up there, everyone and anyone ranging from aristocrats to perverts.

One night, after having earned enough money to purchase food, she found she had some left over that could be used to purchase her older sister a gift. At least that was her plan until two men, who appeared to be of the Garchomp species, had decided to rob her of all of it.

At that point, Diana knew she needed to get out of this town if she was ever to live a prosperous life. Deliquent Town was just a vicious circle, and to this day she seeks out opportunity elsewhere in the hopes of finding something or someone to pull her away from that life; away from relying on strangers to make sure she or her family would get to eat.

Diana left Delinquent Town without talking with her family first. She actively tries to avoid interacting with them or even talking about them, which is one of her demons.

Appearance: Diana is roughly 5'6" and 140lbs. She has the light purple scales of an Ekans, accompanied by a long tale with a yellow rattle at the end of it. Her teeth are also pointed and sharp, making her look all the more dangerous (even though she's never used them to intentionally hurt anyone). She has narrow pupils and yellow irises that compliment her snake-like appearance.

Diana has quite a length of straight hair that flows over her shoulders like waterfalls, reaching the middle of her back. Her hair color is a very dark purple (almost black), and is only allowed free reign when she sleeps. Otherwise it's either braided, tied, or curled in a way that reflects her sense of style.

The image below is a reference to her clothing.

Special Abilities:
Diana has the Glare ability, essentially able to stare so intensely into someone's eyes that they become paralyzed until she looks away. Second ability is Screech, essentially screaming so loudly that it renders her target more vulnerable to attack.
Name: Opel Fay

Nickname(s): Not much- either Opel or Fay. She's not one for actual nicknames.

Age: 8 (Is this too young?)

Gender: female

Species: Mareep

Occupation:
She works as a nurse's apprentice, but she wishes to find a full-time job in the palace some day.

Personality: Creative, patient, and polite, the first impression people get of Opel Fay is usually quiet, apprehensive, and tender-minded. Although, around those she cares about, the Mareep gijinka is dependable, cooperative, enthusiastic, and reassuring. No matter who she is with, though, she can be very sensitive, but not overly so.

History:
When she was born, poor Opel figured out, very quickly, that her parents did not want her around. This was shown by the Wartortle and Flaaffy gijinkas abusing her tiny form to the brink of causing actual damage, both mental and physical. Once she had grown to be the age of six, she finally learned that she could do something to get away from the suffering she was forced to live through her entire life: she could run away. Run away and never look back.

So that's exactly what she did. In her cloth bag, she packed only her rather poorly-made but favorite toy, a clay Ponyta, and a handful of hazelnuts, taken from the kitchen without her parents' knowledge. With determination in her mind, a frown on her face, and a tear in her eye, Opel Fay left her home, the only place she had ever known, and ventured into the surrounding, unknown woods.

It didn't take the young girl long until she made it to a building on the outskirts of Suimera. Instantly, she ran over to it, out of curiosity of what it might be there for and lack of energy to traverse anywhere else in the dangerous woods alone for more than the five minutes she'd been out. Hearing commotion inside, Opel peered in through the cracked-open door to see what there was to see.

Inside, many children, who all seemed to be either around her age or younger, ran, played, laughed. Knowing only of harassment, the Mareep gijinka child built up the courage to tug on the shirt of a Poliwag gijinka, gaining her attention. "H-Hello there. What is this place?"

"This building? Why, it's our home! We all ran away from our real homes, and somehow, we came across this place!" Tilting her head in confusion, the Poliwag wondered aloud. "Did you run away?"

Opel nodded in response. "Yes, I did." Not wanting to cause any trouble for any of the children, she played with her foot before she asked: "I-Is there room f-for one more here?"

The Poliwag grow very excited. Running over to a much-taller Darmanitan gijinka, she told of Opel, her dilemma, and her question. Very quickly, she was welcomed to the 'orphanage' with open arms.

It had been a year or so before the trip to downtown Suimera. Leading all the children, who had grown to be good friends with Opel and could bring out her more 'outgoing' side, the Darmanitan gijinka asked around if people were looking to 'adopt', since not many knew of the orphanage's existence. Seeing many strange people made Opel uneasy, but she told herself she'd be strong for her friends- the exact same friends she considered her real family.

A large-ish building caught her eye. She could see a few gijinkas inhabiting the building, and she was quick to wonder what they had gathered for. Many were crippled in some way, mainly due to some mental disorder, and the Mareep gijinka grew worried about them, feeling a need to help them throughout their time at the building. Slowly, as she told her 'family' that she would be right back, Fay walked over to the intriguing building, feeling emotions well up inside her, but she did not know why.

In the midst of the patients inside, a fully-fit Wigglytuff gijinka stood, feeding a Roselia gijinka. Approaching the woman, Opel Fay tiled her head to a side in slight confusion. "Excuse me, miss, but what are you doing? Why are you feeding that man?"

Looking down to the short girl, the Wigglytuff smiled a light, beautiful smile. She explained her purpose for helping the Roselia man, calling the building an 'infirmary' in the process. Absolutely fascinated by the patients' stories and the Wigglytuff's reason for helping them, Opel wanted very much to stay here with her friends and assist the Wigglytuff, but she could not, she said, because she was "trying to get adopted".

"Oh, poor dear, you're an orphan? Honey... Would you like a new home?" Smiling, the Wigglytuff walked away from her nursing duties at the infirmary only to speak to the Darmanitan about adopting Opel, who said a light-hearted "yes" in response. After many minutes of saying farewell to her friends, ensuring that they would visit sometimes, Opel followed the Wigglytuff, who happily took her in as her very first apprentice, saying that "I can always use an extra hand around here!", back into the building she would know as her new home for the rest of her life.

Appearance: With red hair as short and fluffy as the Pokemon's wool, Opel is a small girl, both lengthwise and width-wise. Donning a wide array of freckles on her face (her entire face, I mean), arms, and even her legs, she finds herself toying around with her tail (the orange bulb on the end, to be exact) whenever there is nothing very specific for her to do. Eyes a shining orange, she has the ears(?) of the Pokemon she portrays, and her legs (and arms) are a bit shorter than usual, hence her height.

Clothing: As a child, Opel Fay wore nothing more than a cheap, white, woolen dress and leather shoes, given to her by her mother to help with chores inside the house. But, since her time at the infirmary, she was given and began wearing a sleeveless tunic, woolen shawl (both much too big for her size), girdle, and black shoes.

Special Abilities:
Thanks to learning the move Cotton Spore, Opel has the ability to create cushions to help soothe the patients of the infirmary, stop any bleeding, and give them a comfortable night's sleep. (Y'know, like pillows.) Also, seeing as Mareeps are able to do this, during the nighttime, her tail glows a bright orange color to help others see in the lack of light. (Thanks a bunch for these, @Jake Acker!)
Name: Kuniik Ordal
Nickname(s): Kun
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Species: Zoroark
Occupation: Merchant, Ex-Assassin
Personality: Playful, manipulative, mischievous, perverted, sophisticated, charismatic.
History: Kuniik was born a poor orphaned Zorua in the ghettos of Delinquent town. As the wealthy, and privileged would sit atop their thrones, and look down upon his disgusting town, Kuniik could not help but envy their throne. He was born with the ability of Illusion, and used it to its fullest effect. However, it did take him a few years of maturity, when he became a Zoroark, to be able to hide his tail, and transform perfectly. While He was not entirely akin to a ditto, which is to say he was not able to copy abilities, his illusion magic was a powerful tool. As he grew up, Kuniik realized that not only could he manipulate his appearance, but he could also manipulate things around him. He could create fantastic monsters, hell storms of fire, and an entire army at his feet. He could make others see horrible nightmares in front of them, or nothing at all. He could make a stone coin turn gold, and gold into stone.
Growing up, Kuniik admired the magician Hoopa that had graced his town one day. The slight of hand, and manipulation was what inspired him. The little Zorua could just as easily pull of an even greater show if he worked at it enough. He could feed himself, and afford clothes. The best part about it all was that it would be free. At first, his tricks were found out. Gold coins that were bitten would immediately lose their illusion. Many of the 'powers' he tried to display were easily seen through. The flames had no heat, and his own disguises were only shoddy copies. While he was able to trick some to get by, the Zorua still had to work on his abilities.
One day, however, Kuniik attempted to trick someone who would change his life forever. The ten year old Zorua would be discovered by a member from an assassin guild. Seeing the potential that the young Kuniik possessed, the assassin recruited him. Though, on the Zorua's end, it was not much of a choice, as he would have been killed for trying to steal if he refused.
For the next six years Kuniik's powers were honed, and polished. He was taught how to use his abilities to disguise himself, and other objects properly. By the time his training had finished, Kuniik had grown into a Zoroark. He was an accomplished assassin, boasting a perfect record of clean kills. His illusions had grown to not only affect a person's sight, but their hearing, feel, and smell. While his fire storms would do no real damage, they would burn hot, and smell of smoke. While the army he raised could simply be passed through as if they were ghosts, their armor clanged, and clattered, expanding slowly with each breath. Kuniik's powerful illusion magic was his most valuable tool, but not his only. He had been trained in stealth, and close combat. He had been shown how to create poisons, and how to hide his presence. Over his eight years of being an assassin he traveled the world, learning new languages, and becoming known as quite the charmer. He was able to put on an air of sophistication, and grace despite his birth. Information gathering was made easy by his ability to disguise himself. He was able to entertain crowds with his 'magic', and even gained audience with important benefactors. Many countries would go into wars with each other because of his masterful manipulation. One could even say he had the cleverness, and cunning of a fox. His charisma, and illusion magic, as well as his affinity for assassination allowed the young Zoroark to rise quickly.
By the time he was eighteen, Kuniik had taken his place as the leader of his group, having killed off his predecessor. The male felt no remorse, and was a cold blooded killer. His abilities far surpassed those above him, and henceforth, he had claimed the seat he rightfully deserved. However, Kuniik was still not satisfied. Though he had power, and wealth, he was not where he wanted to be.
He wanted to be the king. He wanted to sit upon the throne that society told him he could never have. He wanted to spit in the face of the prophecy that told him only those who were marked were allowed to rule. Kuniik knew that the ruler should be one who has taken their power with their own hands, not some coddled child playing king. Kuniik did not believe in the power that legendary Pokemon had. To him, they were simply mortals who presented themselves as higher beings. Kuniik was his own luck, and his own divine protection. He refused to believe that he was forced to stay in his caste simply because he was not born with the incestuous blood of a king.
Within a year, Kuniik destroyed the guild of assassins that he led. Each, and every one of them had been arrested, and thrown in dungeons. The Zoroark could not have any of them attempting to kill him after all. He had used the kingdom's unrest over the assassination of their king a while ago to his advantage. The purge of his guild was swift, and quick. All were branded as liars, and traitors. Being the leader, he knew where each, and everyone of them were hiding. He took the credit, and prestige that came with rooting out these assassins, and gained notoriety as the one who brought the assassins to justice.
The cold blooded Zoroark even watched as his fellow assassins were put to death at the guillotine, feeling no remorse. Being the leader of the assassins did not suit him, and to Kuniik this was the only proper way to prevent his past from coming back on him. Using the full wealth that he had gained through mercenary jobs, and the guild he'd led, Kuniik became a merchant.
With his charisma, and illusion magic, the manipulative Zoroark was able to establish himself as a well respected trader.
Those who threatened his business would also meet untimely deaths. Heart attacks, strokes, and random thugs all seemed out to get them. It almost seemed as if the merchant had some sort of divine blessing that smites his enemies.
With his roots, Kuniik's 'business practices' were never discovered, nor were they even suspected. If this society was dead set on keeping him from the throne because of his birth, he'd use his birth given skills to their fullest.
However, Kuniik's dealings did not always result in murder, or manipulation. The Zoroark had managed many legitimate, and clean trades. His intelligence, and charisma provided him many powerful contacts, and even more wealth. However, for merchants living in a monarchy, half of the Zoroark's income was stolen by taxes. For doing absolutely nothing for him, the kingdom expected half of his earnings. Kuniik, though, was always happy to help his country. After all, they needed to catch the criminal who kept stealing their gold bullions, and putting rocks in their place.

So here we are at the present, and after four years of being a successful merchant, Kuniik once again grows bored with his current status of power. He is able to raise a private army for himself, and has helped create jobs, and wealth for the country. The ambitious man's hunger for power is never sated, and he will do all that is necessary to sit upon the throne.

Appearance:
384908_Kuniik.jpg

Red hair that can be short, or long depending on what Kuniik wants to look like. His true form is the picture above, and he stands an imposing 6'3''. Given his background in assassination his body is made of lean muscle with a few scars from blade weapons, and whips. These scars cover his body, and are a result of his training as an assassin. However, Kuniik typically hides these scars with illusions. He can take on any appearance he chooses, but when it comes to events in which he does not need to hide his face he makes sure it is known. Dealing as a merchant, and conversing with contacts Kuniik takes the form of a clean cut red haired male with blue eyes.
384913_KuniikClean.jpg

Clothing: Kuniik typically dresses himself in black, and keeps himself in the most sophisticated attire possible when dealing in the trader business. He has a taste for the finer things, and can even form clothes from his illusions. During assassinations, he will either cast an illusion around himself that gives him the exact appearance of another person. What he wears beneath the illusion is a lightweight black outfit with various hidden weapons. He wears a fox mask on his face in the event that his illusion is broken.
Special Abilities: Kuniik is able to cast illusions around himself, and surrounding objects within a maximum of a ten meter radius. His illusions on other objects do not bend light, and instead bend the perceptions, and senses of those around him. He essentially forces others to hallucinate, and see something differently as well as feel as if it were real. However, these illusions do not cause any real harm, and can be broken if Kuniik loses focus.
While wielding a weapon Kuniik can unleash Night Daze. It is a powerful dark magic attack that can be launched from a distance. If it does not kill, it will disorient his opponent, and cause them to fall into a dazed state.
Name: Othello Everwood
Nickname(s): Fellow, Everwood, Lover-boy, Blackie
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Species: Umbreon
Occupation:
Othello is a sort of odd job type worker, mostly dealing in under-the-table money. He has a decently clean record, especially for his species and typing. As of now he is a street sweeper, although he he often helps with tidying up businesses after hours. Often he has to steal money to make it through the times when he is unemployed.

Personality: A thief with a heart, a hopelessly romantic heart in fact. One of the main reasons he is constantly broke and unable to maintain living quarters, is due to the fact, that all of his former lovers, were really just after his spare change. He is very trusting, and is very much a people pleaser, working extra hours of whatever shift he has, not caring if he gets paid or not. He just wants to be recognized as a living being, and wants people to look beyond his typing and odd skill set. The smallest amounts of affection leave Othello always hungry for more. This often leads to him becoming overly attached to people, ultimately leading to his heart being ripped to shreds, along with any normality that may have come from the relationship. Overall he has a dark but funny sense of humor and charm, making a great friend. His biggest interest in life is story telling, unfortunately he has yet to learn to read or write.

History: Growing up Delitown (Delinquent Town) has its ups and downs. You learn to grow up fast, but you lose your child hood. Othello came from a family of 12, and him being the middle child, was pushed out of the house relatively early at 14 years of age. After this he was a Chefs hand, Errand boy, Librarians assistant, who also happened to spark his imagination and his love of stories, And a Drug Runner. The last job got him around 10 months in prison for his first offense on his record. In prison he got off relatively easy. His family was well known and he was provided for. He made a few friends. When he got out, he realized nobody would want to hire a Dark type with a record, so he used the name " A Fellow." A play on his real name, so he could find work. He has had a few run ins with the law before, but nothing serious, petty crime. As mentioned above he had a string of failed relationships with him getting his heart ripped to shreds and his money pilfered, along with his belongings. One of the few things he has kept for the last few years of his life, was a small iron band he had forged and smelted himself. Embedded in this bracelet of sorts is a ruby in a heart shape, however because of the crudeness of the piece, it is simple yet elegant. None of his Ex's had ever decided to take it as well, due to its, simplicity. This made Othello wonder if even his gifts were that of a beggar, and hasn't been the same since. All of the fallout in between and after every break up and hook up leave Him sad and lost in this word filled with materialistic pleasures. He is still looking for someone to share his time with, even if they end up stealing his money...

Appearance:
His once nice work clothes have since been reduced to rags, as most of his money goes too buying what little food manages to find its way to his plate. He is tall and has an Athletic build, from all of the manual labor. He has an Umbreon's ears and a Fluffy tail, although it has been reduced to a rats nest. He wears a long Cloakwith a hood, for when it rains. He has adorable brown eyes, but their natural color is green, so he has to hide. He is also not too bad on the eyes either. His blackish brown hair is semi short and I'll post a picture later on. Due to his natural ability to Shape-Shift, he can take on the appearance of any person, if he has seen them previously.

Clothing:
Tattered Cloak, wool gloves with ripped fingers, rugged boots, baggy heavy material pants. All of these articles consist of dark grey and brown colors, stained after traipsing through the mud and dirt. He has few nice clothes which he wears when he is trying to find a job.

Special Abilities:
He can shape shift briefly (Adaptability), and can make friends easier than most. (Charm)

Archived/Inactive Characters
Name: Wilhelm Greystone

Age:
22

Gender: Male

Species:
Aggron

Occupation
: Guard, not low ranking but not high enough to have any major influence over operations.

Personality:

Beneath the cold hard shell of professionalism criminals are met with lays the real Wilhelm, a friendly guy who really cares about the people he helps protect. Loud and boisterous around his friends and defiantly don’t let him at the ale. That being said if you also wanted to have a heart to heart chat in private Wilhelm is always happy to help anybody from anywhere. An iron will and rock hard determination set him apart from his comrades when things hit the fan. That and a pair of great big steel horns.

History:

Wilhelm was born to a pair of Lairon who were just honest to Arceus townsfolk. His father owned a blacksmiths where Wilhelm spent his childhood, crawling through the half-finished metal masterpieces on a never ending adventure. His mother helped around the blacksmiths and actually made sure everything got sold (Wilhelm’s father was not a people person and often couldn’t close the deal with customers), as well as keeping a certain baby Aron out of trouble.

The moment in his life that Wilhelm decided he wanted to protect people was also the worst day of his life. Upon returning home from a nights out drinking both of Wilhelm’s parents had been attacked and robbed by a band of thieves who beat his parents to a pulp before taking everything they had on them. His father actually lost his leg to the incident, it had been burnt that badly by one of the assailants. Seeing the man he looked up to looking so defeated and venerable made up the young Aron’s mind and he began his preparations for becoming a guard.

At the age of 15 he went about getting as fit as possible, every day he got up at dawn and went for a run, lifted a set of weights he had forged himself and did combat training with his uncle (Already a guard, just a little pudgy and old.). He enlisted as soon as he could, moved out of his home and set up his own life. After a few years by himself he is still going strong and has only furthered himself as both a guard and an individual.

Appearance:

Wilhelm is a tall man, about 7ft 9, and has the bulk to boot. Years of training and hard work had given him the body you wished every guard had. Two large steel horns protrude from his short black hair and do occasionally catch on things in his day to day life. His eyes are an almost electric blue, and thick dark eyebrows give him a very intense resting face. That being said a smile will light his whole face up like a Christmas tree. Intensely strong teeth are what give him the ability to crunch up small bits of metal and eat them as if they were little more than a hard candy. A thick and club like tail extends from the base of his spine, heavily armored and banded to boot. From the back of his neck all the way down to his tail runs a thin line of metal armored plates that follow his spine.

Clothing:

For casual wear Wilhelm normally dons a thick black jacket with a high collar and particularly thick shoulder pads. Under this a light grey and everyday t shirt makes an appearance, joined by a pair of black cargo trousers and combat boots at all times, even if there is no combat to be done. When armored he had a special helmet to allow for his horns and thick chainmail topped with heavy steel plates. He carries a shield on his back for this as well as a large and menacing axe.

Special Abilities:

Ability to harden his skin till it’s like steel, providing even more defense beneath his armor. Other than that Wilhelm can control the element of earth in a limited way. For example he can’t summon a giant fist of stone that actively squishes his foes, but he could make a pillar of rock spear out of the ground or make a dirt wall to take a blow for him.

Hope this is all okay, just tell me if there are any problems with it!
Name: Ajani Robyn

Age: Just turned 20 not too long ago, about two weeks, in fact.

Gender: Male

Species: Drapion

Occupation: Aspiring Guard/Knight

Personality: Once you look past the stigmas of the poison and dark types, you’ll see that Ajani is… somewhat nice. Given, he can be a jerk sometimes, but that’s not all the time!

Getting the negatives out of the way right off the bat, Ajani can be pretty cocky when it comes to his own skills. He has a tendency to overestimate his own power, or underestimate that of others, which can put him into some not so favorable situations. He’s got a gambling problem, though he wouldn’t call it a problem, referring to it as more of a “hobby”. He can shrug off most insults, sometimes rebutting to them with a witty quip or two, but doesn’t take too kindly to those who insult him behind his back.

“It’s cowardly and weak. You got a problem with me? Say it to my face. Simple as that.”

His redeeming qualities are generally overlooked, thanks to the prejudice against both poison types and dark types constantly bringing them from the light. He’s ambitious, setting his sights on the highest of goals, and he possesses the determination to follow through with his plans. Comedy is definitely something he has, or at least he’s been told he has (whether or not that was sarcasm, he doesn’t know, but he enjoys thinking it was a genuine compliment.) Ajani isn’t a genius by any stretch of the matter, but he’s not stupid, especially when it comes to fighting.

“After all, if I’m gonna be a knight, I’d have to know how to fight! Simple.”

History: Ajani was gifted to a pair of lovely Drapion - sort of. They weren’t actually considered “together”, as they didn’t even like each other, let alone married. The two were constantly commenting on how much they regret having a child, how they hated each other to no end. In his earlier childhood, he spent most of his time with his mother, but after reaching the age of 8, he was completely alone thanks to a huge fight between the two parents that resulted in both of their deaths. Ajani had to deal with the prejudice and hatred displayed against the poison types for almost his entire childhood from that point on - alone. For a really long time, Ajani felt as if the world would never change, that once the stigma stuck, it was there for good. He would hide, he would run away, he wouldn’t speak up, he would bottle everything up inside and vent at himself before he slept.

Though, this all changed when he saw the knights for the first time. They had control over things, they had the power to change, to bring justice! Ajani made it his biggest goal yet to become a high-enough ranking knight/guard to make a difference, to show the world that being a poison type doesn’t instantly mean bad things, and to show everyone that the labels placed upon him meant nothing. Breaking free of his quiet and secluded shell, he started to become more or less the person he is now. Training became an integral part of his everyday routine: constantly jogging, sparring with trees or whatever he could find, doing about 30 or so push ups and sit ups each morning before eating. He was absolutely locked into his training mindset, determined to be a knight, while also using training as an effective venting method.

Upon evolving, his bug typing was replaced with dark, another commonly hated type, which got him close to giving up on his aspiration of changing the world for the better. He fell back into the world of stigmas, developing some rather unsightly traits, but he held on to what he desired for dear life. He still aspires to be a knight, and although he has become somewhat of a product of the very thing that he despised, he refuses to let it consume him completely.

Appearance: Ajani is pretty small, standing at about four foot eleven and weighing in at barely 135 pounds. Normally he doesn’t let that get in his way, but commenting on his height is quite possibly the easiest way to get him angry. His overall physique is rather well toned; his training being evident at a first glance.

His skin is a darker tan color, much like that of his parents. A pair of lavender eyes also serves as a link between his parents and himself. His snow white hair flows not-so-elegantly down to his shoulders, never really being brushed, which left tangles and knots in it. Anyone to look at his toothy and arrogant grin would swear he had fangs - primarily because he basically does. Sharp and jagged teeth stand in for what is considered by most “normal”, though it is normal for Ajani. His nails are a darker purple color, and the normally removeable white areas are sharpened to a point and, quite frankly, would be painful to clip off. Around his eyes are two teal-colored circles that, while most assume are simply makeup, are not. They cannot be removed. Protruding from his lower back is a segmented violet tail, one with a dual pointed stinger on the end. The toxins from the rest of his body exist in this stinger, and with equal potency.

Clothing: Ajani’s choice of attire is rather constant. He chooses to wear mostly purple and indigo, with some whites, teals, and blacks. This is by choice, as he has other colors for his attire, but chooses not to wear them.

A black t-shirt normally covers up his well-toned torso, which is in turn somewhat covered up by a purple faux-scale leather hooded cowl. He has several chain bracelets that line his arms, which he made himself from chains and other scraps from around his living quarters. Around his waist is another homemade article of clothing, something he had since his early childhood. He repurposed some of his old shirts and created a patchwork black and white belt, one that has carrying space for his prized possessions - two steel daggers. Covering his legs are a pair of simple wool trousers, dark as the night sky. He doesn’t normally wear shoes, considering he hates how they compress against his sharp toenails.

Special Abilities: Ajani has the ability to produce poison from his fang-like teeth, his nails, and if he focuses hard enough, the palms of his hands. This poison is pretty potent, being able to burn through leather and skin with ease, though its functionality against metal is null. He’s also got a killer sense of vision, being able to see almost perfectly clearly at night and in fog (sort of), while also being able to aim his strikes precisely. Blinding him is pretty hard to do, though if the opponent is crafty enough, it is certainly possible. This second skill is both a result of genetic factors and his intense training.
Name: Mai-ling
Nickname(s): Cysgod
Age:18
Gender: Female
Species: Greninja
Occupation: spy, page

Personality: Mai is a very quiet and shy girl, able to blend into her surroundings easily as someone beneath peoples notice. She does this by not confronting anyone and avoiding contact unless it's required for her job as a page.

This is her default personality when at the palace and not on missions, however when she is on missions Mai becomes very focused on her goal, and very stubborn. She will refuse to give up until a mission is completed or she is ordered to do so.

Mai feels a great debt of gratitude and is very loyal to the royal family for giving her a life and purpose. She would willingly sacrifice her own life without hesitation if Lady Alizé asked, or to keep from betraying the crown. Unfortunately she has an inferiority complex because of her dark nature and believes herself to be lower than her peers.

Nevertheless, Mai is a very skilled individual, despite not seeing this herself. At least not outside of her professional activities. Whenever something happens to shake her really bad she can become depressed and come down very hard on herself.

In her heart Mai is a very lonely individual, having lost her family and never making any true friends. While part of Mai does long for companionship, she believes that she is not worthy of it and that no one would want to be friends with someone like her.

History: Mai was born in Delinquent town, one of a pair of twins to two greninja parents. Her parents were not exactly happy with having two extra mouths to feed instead of the one they had planned for, but nevertheless decided to step up to the task as their family honor was at stake.

Mai’s brother Wan-Ping always received better treatment than Mai as both parents secretly resented Mai as they had only wanted a male child. Mai’s father Ken-Ping worked for a local crime boss named Wallfon Frisk as an enforcer, and after the children were born Mai’s mother Sou-Ling went to work as a dancer and courtesan.

Due to her parents neglect and both of them working constantly, Mai and Wan often had to take care of themselves. This often left Wan protecting his weaker sister and shielding her from as much of the darkness of their world as he could. Mai, deeply looked up to her brother and became rather adept at household chores at a young age, filling in the role of their mother.

When the children were eight years old, Wan began using his high speed, agility and nerves of steel to run packages throughout the city. Mai was very proud of her brother for helping the family and being so resourceful. Unbeknownst to Mai most of the packages her brother ran were various illegal drugs.

One night Mai was cooking dinner for her family when the young Froakie girl shivered, having the intense feeling of being watched. She ran to the window and looked outside, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. After a moment she shrugged and went back to the meal she was cooking. Later in a rare occurrence all of her family came home at the same time. This was very unusual as her mother worked most nights and her father was almost always busy. When she asked Sou why she was home, the answer she received was that the Wicked Rose brothel had closed for the night.

Mai felt her skin crawl and her every instinct screamed that something was wrong. Ken and Sou immediately took wary stances. Sou formed stars made of pure water in her hands, while Ken went down to the floor board and pulled a beautiful sword from a hidden spot under the floor.

Immediately after the front door of their house splintered into tiny pieces, as a huge fist ripped through it. Silhouetted in the door frame was a huge brute of a man. The figure must have stood nine feet tall with a large horn on it’s forehead reaching another six inches into the sky. Aleksei, the Rhydon stood in the hole that was once their front door and glared at his fellow enforcer. Ken seemed surprised at the intrusion when he saw who it was. When Ken asked what the meaning of the attack was. Aleksi told him that Frisk wanted back what was stolen from him. Ken said that his honor would never let him steal from his boss, but the Rhydon and the four men with him did not seem in the mood to chat.

A battle broke out in the house as Wan grabbed his sister and bolted for the back door. As Mai was being carried by her brother, she saw her parents fighting off the attack force and then just as both Greninja were dodging attacks two blue shuriken struck both her parents in the back. There was a loud impact and suddenly the house exploded in sheer force as the ground ripped itself apart. Mai was flung out of her brother’s arms and through the air. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a spike of wood drive itself into her brothers left eye. The young Froakie girl was slammed through the back wall of the house, and flung many feet from the wreckage landing dazed and hurt beside a path. With her ears ringing and her vision blurred she stumbled toward where she thought the house was. However the concussion sent her in the opposite direction and she finally collapsed in the street.

Fate decreed that it was not the girl’s day to die, as a beautiful Pyroar was passing by accompanied by two guards. The woman Lady Alizé looked down at the broken girl at her feet and recognized the kunai shaped birthmark on the back of the girl’s neck. The mark was of the Wu Shui clan, from the distant Kagura kingdom to the Far East. The Wu Shui were a clan of elite ninja who had protected the imperial throne of Kagura for a thousand years.

Never one to waste a potential asset, Lady Alizé had the guards bring the girl back with her to the palace. Countess Alizé Deidre Moreaux, was the ideal image of a noble lady. Tall, beautiful, graceful with impeccable etiquette and courtly manners, she was well known in the court. What was known by only a handful, was that Lady Alizé served the king and queen personally. Her job was to ferret out any threats to the throne, and to send the knights to deal with it. She was a master at acquiring information and held dirt on a vast majority of the noble families. She also kept her ear to the ground concerning Delinquent town and neighboring kingdoms.

Lady Alizé raised the young girl, teaching her all manner of things such as courtly etiquette, subterfuge, academics, and languages. She would use others to round out the girls education including stealth, larceny, and self defense. She instilled in Mai a strong sense loyalty to the crown, and how grateful she should be to have her life saved and given purpose. Mai began to serve as Lady Alizé's page and servant in the courts eyes while the Pyroar began to send her on espionage missions to gather Intel.

Appearance: Mai-Ling is a short thin wisp of a girl. She stands at around 4ft 10in and weighs barely 110lbs. She has long dark blue hair that she often keeps up in a tight bun or in a single long braid that hangs down to her ass. Her skin has a slightly black tone to it and her eyes are a deep red. Her ears are tall and sharply pointed sweeping back in an angle behind her head for a good ten inches or so. Her thighs are powerfully built and strongly muscled. At her backside is a very short tail that she usually keeps under her clothing.

Clothing: Mai-Ling wears a variety of outfits depending on what role she is serving in. When fulfilling her duties as a page, Mai wears a long crimson red tunic, over black leggings topped with thigh high black boots and a black and gold belt over the tunic. She wears a round black hat with a single large red feather sticking out the top. When gathering intel through stealth Mai wears a solid black ninja style outfit with a face covering cloth. When not performing either duty, Mai tends to wear a loose flowing blue tunic and wide flowing cloth pants with sandals on her feet.

Special Abilities:
Mai-Ling has the ability to form compressed water shuriken and small blades that are as strong as steel although she rarely uses this ability offensively. She is also incredibly fast and stealthy.
Name: Allen Puck
Nickname(S): The Magician
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Species: Drifblim
Occupation: Street Magician
Personality: If you look past the ghost-type stereo types, you will find that Allen is rather caring. He loves helping people, including fellow ghosts, darks and poisons.

However, true to steotypes, he has to be as mysterious as his job calls for. He's a great liar, even if he doesn't love to admit it. He understands why people are afraid of him.

Allen doesn't like to get in on any action, but works very hard to get what he wants. If there's some way to get in, he'll find it.

History: Allen grew up in an area where everyone was spread apart, without much interaction. His parents, a Drifblim and Chandelure, owned a small shop filled to the brim with odd stuff. One day, a small crowd gathered outside the shop with signs of protest and wrecked the place. Eventually, they burnt it down, full of rage at the ghosts, even though they did nothing wrong. Allen's mother managed to escape, but not the father.

Allen learned that hate was not the way to deal with things, so he didn't. He grew to understood that this world is a bad place, but he can make it better. Using a small magic kit he got from the shop, Allen sat on the street and entertained where he could, until he realized he could make some money to help his small family. What started as a hobby soon grew to a full-blown (pun intended) business. His mother eventually passed, but he still struggles with supporting himself due to the growing hate.

Allen has worked hard to get into this festival. He hopes it will increase his income.
Appearance:
Allen is tall, skinny, and light-skinned. He isn't very muscular, however. His left arm is scarred from burns. He has dark purple hair, which is messy, and light red eyes. He also has 4 long, purple appendages with a yellow tip circling his waist.
Clothing: Allen wears a bright yellow shirt and pants of the same color. He's got a purple fedora and trench coat, as well as some red shoes. His trench coat has four slots for his extra limbs to go through. It makes them look like a part of his coat.
Special abilities: Allen has the power to draw shadow energy from the air and shape it. However, it's not harmful to anyone unless he really needs it to be (It's never had to be used this way).

His second ability is self-levitation. This one is more passive, as it's hard to control. He just always floats about 3 inches above the ground. He can go higher or lower when needed, but doesn't normally.
Name:
Alora Shimmings

Nickname(s):
Northern Lights, Bora (by only a few select people)

Age:
19

Gender:

Female

Species:
Amaura

Occupation:
Jewler

Personality:

Alora is a fairly knowledgeable person who likes to keep to herself. She's been known to garden (which she isn't very good at) rather than go to dinners or be exposed to any social interactions. Alora is polite, and will talk to someone if spoken to, but she still doesn't overly appriciate it. Despite not enjoying time around other people, Alora will approach someone in order to help them, such as helping a guard find a raucous figure and help form strategic ways to deal with violent situations, but even then, Alora tends to keep her words short, and seems to nod a lot. Working as a Jewler does change her personality at times; after all, how is she supposed to sell her creations if she can't help those who are interested in her goods? So at times, Alora will become slightly more extroverted and step out of her comfort zone to talk to people, but those occasions are fairly rare. Her 'cold shoulder' fools many, as Alora, in contradiction to her personality towards the general public, loves to spend time with babies and young children who are generally very curious.

History:
Alora was born to two Arourus, both who once made their living off the sea. She was born far from Suimera, someplace very snowy as she can recall. Her parents refuse to talk about why they moved, or even why decided to said across the oceans in their tiny boat from their homeland when they were five. Her mother passes it off as a simple will to move somewhere more popular and with more activity, as 'up North', as she refers to their old home, was fairly barren. Other than her infuriating topic of her old life, Alora never had that much to worry about. Her family landed in at a middle class status, not poor, but not rich, and once she made a few friends she was content. After a bit of tutoring from a servant, her father was an expert metal and gem collector and, once given to his wife, those materials formed into precious jewelry. Alora would spend hours just gazing at her mother's handiwork as she formed the necklaces and gold flaked dresses and she knew she wanted to deal with precious gems and metals as soon as her mother stopped sewing fishnets and started weaving gold.

When it comes to parenting, the Shimmings took their job seriously. Alora has been told many, many times that a young Snorunt child was once taken by a band of Archeops and was never seen again. The Shimmings, since having Alora, always feared for their child. To be entirely honest, the Amaura girl doesn't even recognize as to why they worry so much. She was an only child, which she considered being the reason, but the extent they took it to; wearing a bell sometimes in public to ensure they can always hear where she is, to sleeping in her room one night after hearing a bump in the house (which was later discovered to be the result of a hunk of gold rolling to the ground after not being properly secured upon it's stand). Due to this overprotectiveness, Alora found comfort in books and studying the types of materials her father brought home some days, and those friends she made? The only one who was patient enough with her and her parents was the son of an Ampharos family who specialized in making clothing; much of the clothing that her mother adorned in Jewels came from that family- working together to please a client. The Flaffy child is still her friend, however they don't see each other much.

When she turned eighteen, that's when Alora became afraid of the dark. She recalls walking down the streets to her parent's house after delivering a fine necklace to a wealthy customer. Her trek took far longer than hoped, and it was night before she made it back into familiar territory. Alora noted that nobody was outside at that point in time, which she brushed off as lateness. However, when she rounded a corner to make the final few meters to her house, she was knocked off her feet and pushed to the ground, where a Mightyena thief rummaged through her bag, stole the fruits of the time consuming, fine necklace and discarded the empty shell of the bag. It was that moment that made her afraid of the dark, even though she refuses to admit it. That event also contributed that she is nineteen and still an Amaura- she needs to be outside at night to evolve into an Arourus.

When her nineteenth birthday rolled around, her parents finally allowed her to fully take over their business of making and selling jewelry. Her father had broken his back out in the caverns, ("Damn those slippery edges!" As he kept saying) and he was lucky to even be alive. The downside was that despite getting help, his back healed in an awkward way, so he's no longer able to do the taxing work of a miner. Alora managed to find a group of Dugtrio and Ryhorn to help her collect and move the metals and gems, but she works by herself in the shop- once her home. Her parents moved to the country and they were so set on making a good life for themselves despite their early retirement. She still manages to sell beautiful pieces of jewelry and has created one of the best and most popular metal and jewelry stores. Alora insisted on working alone, but without her parents, she's become even more interested in her past.

Appearance:
She looks somewhat older than her actual age, but overall she has a slim figure and isn't necessarily very tall, or on that same note, very short; falling in at 5"7. Her hair is generally very flat, moderately long, falling to her shoulder blades, and sporting a light blonde color with a hue of ice blue in some places. Protruding from her head are two yellow/pink 'fins' that change to different colors through out the day- through a very slow, gradient process. Alora is very pale, mostly due to her lack of outdoor activities and her unwillingness to be around others. Alora's eyes are two blue orbs that are somewhat large compared to that of a normal person's, and they only look bigger thanks to her slightly small nose and mouth. Two perfectly diamond shaped 'ice' diamonds rise up from her skin on her shoulders, though they are often protected by her appearal. From the base of her spine, a small, cone shaped blue tail grows out, and normally gets in the way of her everyday life, much to her annoyance.

Clothing:
Alora usually wears a white chemise with abnormally long sleeves nearing the cuffs, but this white garment has a slight tear in the neckline, however that is fairly small and otherwise hard to notice. Over her ribs and down to her hips she has a brown corset, but it's fairly loose and she doesn't like to wear it, as despite its loose nature, as it makes her feel moderately trapped within her clothing, but it is the only thing ensuring that her skirt doesn't fall. Her skirt, which almost reaches the floor, is white in the middle and light blue on the sides and back. It is pulled over the chemise and held in place by the corset. Her shoes are thin sandals, but they are rarely seen under her skirt. It looks much likethis.

Special Abilities: With a bit of work, Alora can cool the temperature of the air by 30 or so degrees depending on how much effort she wants to put into it. She can also form small ice crystals if she wants.
Name: Trini Shaw
Nickname(s): 'The lil' demon' 'Trick fairy'
Age: 12 (Is it allowed? I didn't read anything about age limits in the rules, but no one has used younger characters so far. I can change that if you want)
Gender: Female
Species: Mawile
Occupation: To trick people

Personality:

Trini is a dangerously carefree soul. She's reckless, childish and selfish--and to others misfortune, rea clever. This young girl should never be trusted, to trick people is in her nature, part of her instinc and needs; without this, her life seems empty in her eyes. She's moving the most of the time, either it is walking down the street with fake innocence glowing on her face, or getting in trouble somewhere she can't be found.

Her favourite thing in life are shiny stuff, which she collects on a big red bag, hidden somewhere in the tent she has as home. It doesn't matter if it's silver, gold or pearls: if it starts to gleam in front of her eyes it has to be hers.

But of course, this life style would always get her in trouble, it isn't rare at all to be caught in fraganti during her crimes. In this cases, she can get the most savage side of her, the monster she holds inside. It happens all of a sudden: the cute and innocent girl people were tricked by it's gone, there's just a huge black monster with it's open jaws glancing at them, ready to end their lifes with just a bite. The fear and astonishment gives Trini the perfect chance to get away with her purpose.

Her mother, a caring Jynx, has tried to teach her small daughter better ways, but she has found no way to fight the nature her father inherited to her. It is beyond her power and knowledge, an instinct she can't even understand, forget about destroying. They can't just stay in one city, they have to be constantly moving and creating new homes, later to be distroyed. Due to this lifestyle, Trini did never learn what belonging somewhere felt like, neither did she learn to feel attachment to something. Home to her is a thousand of places to be burnt and another thousand to be discovered.

To live, is to be constantly searching for an adventure.

History:

Trini has never had a place to call home or a city to refer as hers. Her mother town was a small village far away from Suimera, in which she lived in her first and last house to be replaced by a tent. This was also the last place in which she would see her father, her caring mother would make sure Trini would never meet that bad influence again. She didn't want her daughter to grow up as a cheating street rat like him--sad thing she had no control over her daughter's nature.

The young Mawile didn't discover cheating until she turned four, back then it was a completely innocent act, something she had no control over. She was at a carnival, hypnotized by the colors and shows surrounding her, everything was perfectly designed to draw a kid's attention and she wasn't an exception. Her dark mother's hand was holding her pale one tightly, making sure to keep her close in the middle of that largue crowd. It all happened when the female Jynx she had as mother got her eyes on that red pendant. She let go of her daughter's hand subconciously, untying her completely of her body. Trini stood besides her for a couple of minutes, respecting her mother's words 'Don't get away from me',but the sweet scent of sugar clouded all self-consciousness.

She started walking towards it like she hadn't eat for weeks, her childish mind was aching for something sweet. The fluffy pink cotton candy could already be spotted from her position and she was already starting to lick her lips.

Once she had reached it, she found herself in the front of a long line of clients. People started complaining, but Trini didn't even pay attention to them, she was there for her candy, not for them.

"Uh... Miss..." the low voice of a male Clefairy spoke to her above her head, his fuzzy pink mustache matching the cotton candy he held on his hand "I'm afraid you have to wait in the line... Where's your mother?"

"I want a candy,"
she softly said while looking at the pink mustache man, her dazzling red eyes focused on his without distracting for a second.

"Okay, but I'm afraid you and your mother will have to get in the-"

"Please, I want a candy!"
she insisted, standing still without moving any single time.

The clefairy stood silently in front of her, he didn't move, he didn't speak, he just looked at her in confusion without knowing what to do. The Tauros in the front of the line was getting angry, his son was still waiting for the cotton candy he had just bought for her and the parent's face was starting to become red. Even though, he didn't react, he didn't give it to her, he just stood quiet like a statue in front of the Mawile. A cold ran through his back when she started to cry.

It happened all of asudden, she closed her eyes as tears started rolling down her face, low shrieks comming from her mouth as she lowered her face "I really want a cotton candy!". Her crying became louder this time, frustrating the miltank and desesperating the Clefairy. He felt the need to make her stop, it clouded his common sense, it filled his mind. He didn't even knew why, but he gave her the cotton candy.

Trini stopped crying as soon as she got the candy in her hands, she felt pleased and happy, she had gotten what she wanted without any effort. With a huge smile on her face, she prepaired herself to give the candy a first bite. She opened her mouth in front of it, ready to close it with a tasty cloud of sugar between her lips, but when she did so, all she felt was the tasteless cold in the air.

"That was my cotton candy!" yelled angrily the small Tauros as he held the fluffy cloud of pink.

"Give me the cotton candy!" answered an angry triny as she turned to face the Tauros child, her hair starting to scape from her cap as she did so.

"No! It's mine!"

"GIVE IT BACK!!" it came out of her mouth as a loud, sharp cry. She started kicking the floor under her feet as her face grew red as a tomatoe. She had became a small ball of anger ready to jump onto the Tauros. The cap suddenly fell from her head and a black monster emerged from her back, it looked furry and lethal, about twice the size of the girl. It growled and it threathened with devouring the poor Tauros child, who due the confusion had fallen to the ground in panic.

"DAD! DAD!" he shouted with tears on his face, the Mawile's jaws approaching him without any possibility of escaping. Once they had reached him, they closed on his body.

The mothers around them covered their children's eyes, the older Tauros let go of a loud cry as tears rolled down his face. Trini's anger drove her body completely, transforming her in nothing but a monster. She felt strangely happy to have something between her jaws, even though, there was something she was missing. Maybe it was the sound of bones breaking, or the taste of blod in her hair's mouth; whatever it was, something wasn't right with her pray.

She turned around to check the situation, to discover a completely healthy Tauros between her black mouth. He was hanging from his horns, crying without any clear reason: maybe it was pain, or panic, or both.

A rash of anger ran through the older Tauros bdy as he decided to do something about the situation. He kicked the ground beside him like a real bull before charging against Trini, stirring up dirt from the ground as he did so. The powerful horns of the Tauros were too much for the small Mawile to resist. She fell to the ground along with the Tauros child and her now unconscioud hair.

When her mother found her, she was seriously injured and about to receive a possible lethal attack from the Tauros.

They were forced to leave the town after that.

Trini learned to control her power with time, becoming something even helpful for her, even though, incidents like the first one kept on happening pretty commonly, forcing them to leave from town to town constantly. The young Mawile had found a fun hobbie in stealing stuff from others, specially shiny ones like earrings or pendants. Her most savage side became a last resource tool for when her cheating abilities didn't work anymore and there was no escape without violence, once she used it, rumours about the monster leaving in the back of her head started to spread, after this, they would always be forced to move to another place.

Appearance:

Trini's appearence resembles a doll: round face, soft factions and a couple of innocent ruby eyes glancing the world like caught in a fantasy, making it easier for her to trick people with her looks. The shape of her body makes her look helpless and in need of protection, with a height of 1,45 meters and weighing about 38 kilograms.

Her hair is usually tied in a long ponytail that covers her whole back, she has never dared to cut it--not knowing the properties it has. Two long fringes hang from the sides of her forehead, framing her innocent doll face.

Clothing:

Due her mother humble job, Trini doesn't have access to lots of clothing. Her cloths are pretty simple, usually being hoodies that are able to cover her long hair in a cap, like her yellow bat sleeve coat that covers from her shoulders to her toes. During hotter days, she can be seen wearing a dress and a yellow hood to cover her hair. Her fringes are usually outside of her hat.

Special Abilities:

Trini's tricking abilities come from certain natural ability her father inherited her along with her species, thanks to this one, Trini is able to put certain charm in her voice that will make people more susceptible to what she says. In case this fails, she can always pretend to cry, imitating Mawile's technique 'False Cry'.

Along with this, she can also control her hair like another extremity of her body. Her fringes usually serve her as another pair of hands, while the long ponytail she hides in her caps is more like a mouth that she can use in extreme necesities to bite her enemies.
Name: Kane Caspian

Nickname(s): No Nicknames~

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Species: Luxray

Occupation: Engineer/Architect

Personality:

Kane strives to be a level-headed, respectable person, but sometimes his true nature can get the better of him. He usually acts quite humble and kind, and pretends that he doesn't like his own work, just to make sure that he doesn't seem all uptight. Although that isn't true in the slightest, he knows whatever he designs or builds will usually turn out acceptable, if not, perfect. Kane is really self-conscious about his appearance and personality. He knows very well that no one wants a witty, aggressive prick who tosses people aside for the sake of his own messed up fantasies. He absolutely loves attention. Sometimes though, he can get really riled up, and end up breaking his little charade, emotionally hurting friends or family simply because he refuses to admit to his own mistakes, or gets too annoyed. Despite this, Kane does have a heart, if he sees someone who is in trouble, he will go to help them, no matter the cost, although he definitely doesn't like to admit this and often comes up with odd excuses as to why he assisted someone.

Due to Kane's appearance, he is often mistaken as a Dark type, when in fact, he is pure Electric. This has caused many misunderstandings during his lifetime. Many are scared away by his appearance, but those who do stay around end up becoming good friends with him.

Behind closed doors Kane has an obsession with creating wacky inventions that serve no real intention. Like a ring that lights up when you get close to it, or a backpack with wings made of paper that allows you to glide for only two minutes before breaking and letting you fall to your death. He's definitely odd, and hides his passion with the force of an angry Tyranitar. Anyone who does find out, usually ends up being scared away by his secretive aggression and seemingly insane hobby.

History:

Kane always had a fascination with buildings and how structures were made ever since he was a child. His father worked as a lumberjack and his mother was usually at home, taking care of his two brothers. Kane's father took home a couple of sticks and twigs one day and while he wasn't looking, Kane snatched them and ran outside to play. Oddly enough, instead of throwing them around and using the sticks to annoy his younger brother, Kane had an idea spark in his head. He built a small tower out of a few twigs and some leaves. When he saw his parents next, he asked them to get more sticks for him. So, it became a daily routine, father would come home with a bunch of unwanted stuff from work and just give it to his kids to mess around with. His parents didn't really care what they were doing, since they were far, far away from Delinquent Town. Kane's brothers didn't really hold any interest in useless wood though. About a year later, Kane invited his parents to come with him to the forest to see what he had been doing. Much to their surprise, their ten year old son had build an entire miniature scale model of The Kingdom of Suimera, complete with tiny people and interior decorating.

That's how his passion started. When Kane grew up he said goodbye to his family and left for the inner kingdom to prove his skill as an architect worthy of a much bigger job. In short, he got the job and designs houses, farms and paths for the royalty of the kingdom. Anything they request to be made will be made by him, no matter how weird or practical the request may be, he always finds a way to do it. In fact, some of the most recent additions to the kingdom have been made by him. Such as a new farm out to the east of the palace, and some easier to read signs in the marketplace, so that people can navigate around the area much easier.

Appearance:

For image references, look here and here. Just imagine the pictures don't have as many details in the clothing and are less modern.
Kane stands at about six feet tall and has a short, black tail with a yellow star-like object on the tip of it. His irises are a deep crimson and have a much smaller pupil than regular Gijinka. His hair is pitch black and extends backwards in a spiky, wavy fashion. Kane also has large, rounded blue ears with a yellow interior that allow him to have an excellent sense of hearing.

Clothing:

Kane sports high class clothing made from durable materials. He wears a shirt made of white cotton and an old, gothic black jacket with three large metallic bands made of pure silver wrapped around each of his arms. Black gloves with rubber plating usually stay on Kane's hands at all times to make sure he doesn't accidentally shock someone, he will take them off when building though. Blue boots with a black trim and red underbelly is his personal choice of footwear and he wears heavy black pants hoisted by a blue leather belt.

Special Abilities:
Being a Luxray, Kane has the vision to top all vision. He can see perfectly in almost any condition, and can use this ability to see through solid objects such as walls or trees. Gijinkas with some kind of cloaking/invisibility ability can be seen by him, regardless of whether they are using their powers or not. His sight is pretty much impossible to fool, he catches every little movement with his eyes, regardless of how small it may be.

His second ability is the production and control of electricity. The production of the element is limited though, by himself, his ability to create electricity isn't all that powerful, it still packs a somewhat decent punch, but his attacks can easily be shaken off. When he's close to by other Electric types however, his power greatly increases to the point where he can cause some serious damage if you aren't careful. His aggression also rises when close to other people of the same type.
Name: Galinda Leofdaeg

Nickname(s): Gali, Linda

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Species: Garchomp

Occupation: Innkeeper

Personality: Having been constantly weighed down by the responsibilities that she continues to uphold, Galinda has come to develop a rather stern, serious and overly mature disposition. As a result, her no-nonsense personality coupled with her seemingly brash and brutish behaviour has made her largely unpopular with those of the opposite gender. In contrast, this aloofness only increases the admiration that younger girls in her area hold for her, although a softer side of Galinda can be seen when she is interacting with her siblings.

Her sisterly attitude extends further than just her own siblings. Once she has grown to have a significant amount of fondness for another, she has a tendency to act overbearing and bossy as she would with her 3 younger sisters. Nonetheless, her heart is always in the right place and she always has good intentions for those she has formed a kind of bond with, even though this process takes more than a fair share of time. This is likely due to her work-before-play policy, thus she generally considers friendship and romantic relationships to be of little importance, especially the latter. Though she won't admit to it, there is a part of herself that wouldn't mind finding love and settling down with a partner. Again, she still tries to avoid romance when possible, and her lack of charm has left her chances quite slim.

Holding her late father in high esteem, Galinda has developed the same strong prejudice against 'Mistypes' that her father had inherited from his own forefathers. In her eyes, they are no more than cowardly and conniving wrongdoers and she is sure to let one know when they aren't welcome in her family's Inn. In addition to this, she thinks very little of what her family calls 'soft dragons', as she is rather proud of her dragon type strength and believes this manifests less so in the likes of the Goodra, Kingdra, Altaria, Flygon and Dragonite lines.

History: The love child of a Garchomp father and a mother of an unknown species, Galinda was raised with strict parenting and a never ending list of responsibilities. Even in her youth, she was to help her father keep their precious and long running family Inn on top. Her duties only grew in number as she gained 3 sisters over the years. Time and time again, she would witness the same process. Various women would make a place for themselves in the Inn, enchanted by her father. Nonetheless, the result was the same each time and they would all quickly pack up and leave in a fit of rage. In three cases, not before leaving an infant behind with Galinda's father. Galinda always assumed it was because of her father's tendency to only focus on the management of the Inn and felt saddened when he chose to put these relationships to an end, though he reassured her that family and the business must always come first. Feeling confident in his decision-making, Galinda remained happy to help-even with the addition of 3 young Gible sisters that she was tasked with raising (who have now grown into respectable and capable Gabite).

The girls would take turns sitting upon their father's knee, listening to his stories, from magical fables to wild bar fights. Still, he would take time to ensure that they realised that fables were nothing but made-up stories once they came to working age (which for their family is a considerably young age indeed) as he wanted his children to develop good common sense and independence. Before he passed, he would make a point of reminding Galinda that she was the paragon of his teachings and how he took pride in knowing that the Inn would be left in good hands.

Appearance: Galinda stands at a rather large 5'9, befitting her overpowering and intense personality and mannerisms. Her eyes burn with an intense golden hue while her pupils are thin black slits. On the outer edges of her eyes are black marks that streak across her face and grow thinner at the ends. Similarly, there are two of these markings shared by her cheeks that stretch to the ends of her face, although they are much thinner. There are also a pair of thin black marks on either side of her neck, resembling a shark's gills. These are actually present on her thighs, shoulders and ankles as well, but remain unseen as her clothing conceals them.

With her relatively broad shoulders, bulk and muscle tone, Galinda has quite an imposing and masculine appearance. This muscular build contributes well to her outstanding physical capabilities. Nonetheless, she has several feminine assets such as a fairly large bust and wide hips. Were it not for her bulk and how intimidating she is to so many around her, she could be considered fairly attractive with her rich olive skin and layered royal blue locks that reach almost to her hips. Random strands of her hair have a reddish hue at the tips.

Clothing: Generally, Galinda wears a dark grey-blue linen kirtle and a faded reddish-brown smock underneath. The kirtle is laced up from the front, the thread extending down from the very top of the scooped neckline to the skirt section of the dress, which is ankle-length. Her feet are covered by a pair of tattered brown low shoes. A pale yellow scarf is tied around her head in a medieval style, concealing her crown but leaving her long hair to be seen. An apron of the same colour is tied around her waist, covering the skirt of her kirtle.

Special Abilities: As mentioned before, she has incredible raw power and has been known to lift objects more than twice her size, allowing her to hold her own in spite of lacking talent in swordsmanship or any kind of weapon wielding. In addition to this, she is able to create small tremors with a stomp of her foot.

Urban Legends & Common Gossip

There are always many stories told and shared in any bustling society and the Kingdom of Suimera is no different. Guards whisper of shadows in the dark, young boys and old men revel in the legends of ancient heroes, and housewife bicker about the current state of affairs, while young girls gush over court rumors and, pine for royal attention.

Here are a few such stories that everyone in Suimera knows at least something about in one form or another.

The details of this story were lost in time and the result is that there are many different version. What all the stories have in common however, is that there was a brave Dragonite who traveled far and wide with a group of close companions. Heroes, one story called them, refugees, claimed another. Whichever it was, the friends discovered this paradise high up in the mountains and received Suicune’s blessing to settle there. Some say that the group had to fight and defeat Suicune, others say they had to prove themselves by completing the legend’s numerous tasks and trials, and again others claimed that it had been Suicune who gathered the travelers together for some purpose now forgotten.

One fact, which all the historic tales about the founding of Suimera agree upon, is that it involved an encounter with Suicune, the Legendary guardian of the vale, who had blessed a Dragonite warrior and marked him as the first of the Delago royal line, and king of Suimera. Since that time, Suicune would make an appearance and bestow its blessing up a new ruler, but only after the previous owner of the mark had passed away. The Passing of Suicune, this event would come to be known and it was always a grand spectacle that usually only happened once every three generations or so, depending on the longevity of the marked ones. The last such passing happened a solid two decades ago, not long after the birth of prince Salem. It had been swift and unexpected, for the young prince’s grandfather, who bore the mark before him, had died well over a decade prior, and many citizens had come to believe the Passing of Suicune to be nothing more than a fairytale. Some people claimed they had seen the legendary guardian that day, while many others claimed that the whole rite was nothing more than a fable concocted by the officials in order to appease the masses. A claim that garnished more and more followers as the years went by and still no one outside the palace had ever seen the prince.

This story is very popular one, particularly with young women and little girls. It tells the classic tale of an ugly and poor, low class citizen, who scrubbed the palace floors for a living. Eventually she evolved into the most beautiful woman in all the lands and captured the heart of Prince Zachary. Being compatible with the prince on a genetic level meant that she was an eligible candidate for holy matrimony, and before long the kingdom had itself a new princess. The old king died and Suicune had not yet marked a successor the royal couple elevated to King and Queen Interim, and continued to rule even after the new King was born and marked until he would be of ruling age. Of course, the storybook princess’ story took a turn for the dramatic when her husband was murdered, turning her story from a fairytale into a tragic epic.

A few short years after the birth of Prince Salem, disaster befell the kingdom of Suimera. There had been an assassination attempt on the life of the infant king, which resulted in the death of acting king Zachary Quintes Delago. The specifics of the assassination have never been brought to light, although testimonies claimed of the involvement of Poison types, Ghost types, and Dark types, which collectively became known as ‘Mistypes’. This event sparked a major uproar which nearly tore the kingdom apart from within. Discrimination and prejudice flared to an all-time high and led to a great social divide. Blessed be Queen Celeste who, despite her grave loss, stepped up to quell the riots and urged her citizens to not give in to fear and hatred. Since then she has made numerous appearances to advocate union and acceptance but it was clear to all who saw her that the queen’s one time brilliance had been subdued. Some blame this on the loss of her lover and the burden of raising a marked child, while others find fault with the Mistypes and claim that the queen is merely putting up a façade for the sake of the people.

There are plenty of stories going around about the mysterious marked prince of Suimera. From doubts about the existence of a mark in the first place, to theories about the assassination attempt, and the sheltered prince’s appearance, for none outside of the palace really know what young royal looks like. There are prints and paintings of course, but most of those are based on hearsay descriptions, and free running imaginations.

None of these stories seem as popular as the ones about the prince’s mysterious power to control the weather. These tale started not long after the Royal Assassination when the climate of Suimera changed ever so slightly and the weather became strangely unpredictable. As with every story there are alternative theories of course, ranging from the weather being affected by some magical residue of the Assassination, to it reflecting Suicune’s displeasure with the current state of affairs, but the most popular by far is the mystical prince possessing unique abilities. The story theory gained enough traction that particular phrases and sayings become commonplace in daily conversations.

Examples include such saying as; “May the prince smile on us,” when wishing for good weather before setting sail, or “We could use some sympathy from the Prince,” when praying for rain, and “The prince must be throwing a tantrum,” when a storm rages.

An urban legend that has only recently surfaced but quickly gained a lot of traction is that of The Phantom. The rumors of this mysterious being originated in the lower districts some years ago when various reports came in of children finding toys they did not previously own. At first the people were worried about the obvious invasion of their homes but when only toys were added and nothing else stolen, rumors quickly began to spread about the mysterious benefactor of poor children.

At the same time, ever greater and more elaborate heists and thefts were being pulled off in the homes of the wealthy, nobility, and government officials. No private collection remained private for long, and it did not take long for people to link the two phenomenon.

Public opinions are divided, where some claim The Phantom to be a hero, while others brand him a common criminal. So far there have been no clues as to the identity of The Phantom, if it is just one or more people, or if it even is a real person.

One thing is for sure, everyone is always looking forward to hearing of The Phantom’s latest exploits, whether this is because they idolize him, or because they are hoping for new opportunities to apprehend, and unmask the culprit depends on the individual.

The Phantom is keeping the kingdom’s guards on high alert each night, especially during festivals or high valued exhibitions. Meanwhile, many merchants are capitalizing on this legend by selling merchandise dedicated to, or claimed to have been owned by The Phantom.

Hey Pen! So I'm really interested in this RP, it sounds really fun and I have a few ideas that I want to propose for a possible character of mine. I'll share them with you here and would you mind seeing if they'd be a viable option for a character? I'll provide short summaries and expand on one once I've chosen.

Athos, Gallade: As moral and just as Jasper's Pokémon, Athos. He's personal guard (or just a knight) for the royal palace. I might expand upon his personality and have him be in constant emotional turmoil, having suffered some sort of tragedy and also happens to be a complete romantic. His ability is that he's a master swordsman, and is incredibly swift.
(I realise that I named Athos after the Musketeer of the very same name from The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, but I think I'm modelling this Athos after Aramis)

Brutus, Hydreigon: A crimelord in the red light district of Suimera. He's a growing name in Delinquent Town and is known to be sadistic, brutal, and incredibly sassy (think Jasper, except with zero empathy and owned an expanding drug business). His main ability is that he can shoot out blasts of dark energy from his hands.

Gaius, Empoleon: A visiting royal from another kingdom, possibly engaged to another royal character(?). He's incredibly steely, aloof, and indignant to most choices. However, has an incredibly sensitive interior if you manage to get past his walls, also a hopeless romantic in secret, and the fact he was pawned off by his father to marry some noble that he doesn't know for the sake of "maintaining relations" has caused Gaius to become sour.

Under this a light grey and everyday t shirt makes an appearance, joined by a pair of black slacks and combat boots at all times, even if there is no combat to be done.

I really like this character concept and see no problems with it whatsoever. Wilhelm's going to be an amazing powerhouse, and I can't wait to see him in action.
One thing though, I checked really quickly and Aggron are among the bigger Pokémon, so if you want you can easily make your guy stand around 7 ft. tall and proportionally build. Something you might want to consider.
-

So then as for my own character. I have been requested to make Salem into a Pokémon and have him play the part of the crown prince of Suimera. It took some looking into and making adjustments here and there, but I think I managed a find a good Pokémon match and turn it into a nice Gijinka character profile for this RP. It's unlikely that much will change, but I would still very much like to hear opinions on the design. i'm always hungry for feedback.

So he's a... Dragonair?

Wow, this looks really cool! Mind if I join? If I can join, I'll get to work on the bio right away.
It's the other way around actually. You provide us with a compelling bio and then based on the design and quality of writing we will let you join or not. :D

Good luck, I hope you do well.

Special Plot Character: Crown Prince

That is not to say that his limited garments couldn’t comfortable provide for several families of course.

History:
Salem was still only a young Dratini when Suicune, the legendary guardian deity of the country, last passed through the land. It came to bestow its blessing upon a worthy soul, incidentally marking that one are the future monarch of the kingdom. Had Salem been born a few years later he would have missed the passing of the legend and it would surely have been one of his cousins that would now be next in line for succession.

Sometimes Salem wished this had been the case, for it would likely have granted him more freedom, but who could say for certain.

He would pesters the guards for stories, and beg the servants to smuggle in some items.

For a long time he himself was unaware of this ability and enjoying the air of mystery he kept it a secret when he did finally figure it out.

Appearance: Ajani is pretty small, standing at about five foot one and weighing in at barely 142 pounds.

Oh goodness, this took a while XD But here's the bio! If anything needs modification, I would be more than happy to change it. :p

So Ny Pen are there any of the DT NPCs you would like to see converted for this.

If not I have a concept or two rolling around that I will post after I hook up my pt.

Since we already have two guards already, I'd say throw in some diversity with Brutus the Crimelord! :D

Seriously though, such a clever idea. I'm very excited for it because I can so see Cassie selling her stolen goods to him. Kind of like his supplier of sorts. "I can get you what you want. For a price."

Appearance:

Wilhelm is a tall man, about 6ft 9, and has the bulk to boot.

Covering his legs are a pair of cargo trousers, dark as the night sky.

Oh goodness, this took a while XD But here's the bio! If anything needs modification, I would be more than happy to change it. :p
Now, as for you two. Design and concept wise, I think I'm really digging it! Well done coming up with such original characters! You're definitely in.

That being said, I do have slight issues with the cargo pants you two mention in their clothing. Keep in mind this is set in medieval times. They haven't been invented yet. But aside from that, you're golden!

So Ny Pen are there any of the DT NPCs you would like to see converted for this.

If not I have a concept or two rolling around that I will post after I hook up my pt.
Well, since you're a player in this roleplay Astral, you're choose to do and play whoever you want. :)

Such a carelessly dangerous statement to make when facing The Wonderful and myself. >:D

But I agree with my dearest, Ajani looks like an interesting character. I especially like that you're going for such a stigmatic concept. Discriminated but eager to change perceptions. While there is a distrust of certain types that certainly doesn't mean that all characters with such type should be inherently bad or morally skewed, and likewise not all "bad" characters have to have such sinister typing. I can't wait to see an Eevee gangster or vile Chansey or something like that. I applaud the way you incorporated the 'keen eye' ability, nicely done. The same goes for your description of Poisson's ineffectiveness against Steel Typing.

I like his being small and conscious about it, though that said you could make him a bit taller if you wanted, unless dwarf size is really what you want to go for. I realize you stuck to Drapion's officially listed height but we're not expecting all the Pikachu size characters to only be a foot and a half either. :p

Then a question. You mentioned that a fight led to the death of his parents. Does that mean they killed each other in an argument?

Well, can't say I'm not excited to join this. Hopefully my character makes good sense :D

A couple things about his history: Those people are all anthropomorphic as well, I just used their species name (And the species their species are based upon) to make it more interesting to read, I suppose. The Delphox's name is June (Did you expect something else?) and the Murkrow's name is Stone. I don't know what to call the parents, but they aren't incredibly important. Even if this Gerald brings it up, he'll likely just refer to them as "The Parents" or "Mom and Dad". If there's anything needed to change, just say the word.

Well. I don't think there's much left to say. You're in! :D

I really like the new appearance you gave him, but am especially glad you retained his dorky personality. I really liked the back story you made for the Appoint family, as well as the inclusion of June there, and don't think the pun in his name is missed here. ;)

Great job! I hope other profiles will be able to match your caliber.

We're filling up on soldiers and thugs nicely, as was to be expected. I really hope to see players fill out more diverse roles as well though. I'm sure there will be room and story potential for dancers, bakers, florists, farmers, tailors, festival visitors, random travelers, etc.
And just as I'm typing this Gerald makes his appearance. Bless you BurbleBurble. :D

Also, I like to remind people that this not really a narrative driven RP. It's mostly you players that will make the story and keep it going. The Thief and the Prince are really mostly there to give a sort of background for event triggers to play off of.

still writing mine
Good to know. Take your time, there's no rush. Anyone can really jump in at any given time so long as they have a decently worked out character and willingness to immerse themselves in the world and interact with the other players. :D

I can't stress enough how important it is that you realize you all make the story together as players. There won't be much GM handling or directing of situations aside from us speaking up when something seems disruptive or otherwise not acceptable. Remember that this is meant as a Open and Fun sandbox RP.

That said, I'm having all these fun ideas for additional characters...
Megan, the timid Diglett comes to mind. :\=|:

Hmm, ok. I'm having issues coming up with a profession for my character. So she's an Amaura, and I was thinking that something to do with rocks or ice would be cool considering her typing, but looking at Medival jobs, I'm not seeing one that fits in particular. I was thinking about making her an Astrologist, just because it fits her to-be mysterious and introverted nature, but I'm stumped.

Any ideas? I mean, it doesn't necessarily have to correlate with the typing, but I honestly can't imagine an Amaura trying to garden. :)

Rocks and Ice? The first thing that comes to my mind would be to do something with gems. Be a jeweler, or accessory crafts man/woman.
Would give you commercial ties with the nobility, as well as make you a nice target for the crooks and thieves, and placing you in desperate need to interact with guards and security. ;)

Or she could also be the librarian if you'd fancy a profession to suit her nature. ;)

Also, I was thinking of moving Cassandra and Salem's profiles to the intro post. What do you guys think?

Wow, glad you liked it so much! It was troublesome trying to describe his appearance and job, but it all paid off in the long run :D

Pen, I'd never drop Gerald's dork attributes as long as he is Gerald. It's his curse...

But this Gerald got the short end of the stick, now the poor sap is probably going to get puppeteered into some drug scandal XD

Quite exciting to see what Astral and Espeon come up with, surely they'll be unique!

EspeonTheBest, we will make it into your signature sooner or later!
But in the meantime, why don't you contact some of those amazing writer friends of yours and let them know about this little sandbox gem in the making. You're going to play a jeweler right? Get polishing then ;)

By Arceus, I shall make it to Espe's list of the best roleplayers she knows! Also, like Nygenn, I am excitedly awaiting your entry as well. :)

Heads up, I just compiled all character bios (and will continue to do so for new bios) in my first post that previously contained only Cassandra's bio. It's a lot easier to track and find this way. :D

In addition, Ny and I will also be making profiles for the King and Queen of Suimera. If not a little later.

Well, unless we want to cut the crap and just state they're dead, they have to make an appearance eventually. :D
The profiles would just be a lot less detailed. I'm more referring to listing character points and traits we shouldn't forget about for them, and for others to have a handle over and reference if they want to.

For instance, I think the citizens should at least know that their king is a Dragonite with a Milotic queen. :p

Yes dear... ;_;

*drags himself out of bed and back into the study*

There seems to have been a sarcasm/laziness infestation in this bio.
I do hope it doesn't muddle the understanding.
I suppose I can hire an exterminator if you so please.

Now there's two appropriate responses to this. Either applaud slowly for my ignorance and tell me to go to sleep because of points a, b, and c that were very important and I completely missed, or realize that Story somehow magically did this without making a single mistake even thought she decided not to check over it.

Cool?

Cool.
