I kinda feel like Ari is younger than Quentin. Idk why. Am I correct in this assumption or am I totally off ?

Ari is younger than Quentin, hence getting her Pokemon two years later. I should have specified, my mistake.
Quentin goes on the journey with his partner cyndaquil
Two years later, Ariana(my oc) follows in his footsteps
Ariana goes to the unova and kalos regions, then to the amtro region and meets Quentin.
