Yeah that sounds about right. I was looking up the definitions of Pokemon names, and when I did Reshiram, one of the words was japanese for white. I forgot what it was though, but Shiroi sounds like it.
I know Kiba means wolf, or fang because that's the name of one of the naruto characters who has a giant pet dog. x3
