If I can be of any help, I would suggest you replace the word "steel" with another word, like "virtues" or something, since your phrase "the coldest of steel" doesn't make too much sense. (unless you meant to say "colder than steel").

No, it does make sense. Truth is often compared to a blade, or a knife. Hence steel. Also a truth, cannot be broken or tainted like steel.

Oh, ok that's what you mean. But in this case, than perhaps the phrase "the coldest steel" would work better since you are saying that truth is in fact a type of steel, rather than something derived from steel which "The coldest of steel" seems to suggest.
