Pokécharms

My story is not an ordinary fairy tale. It doesn't include giants and dragons; but it is not a fairy tale you would find in the books... I was born with powers i never knew I had, that was till 5 years ago...

I lived the life as a regular kid, went to school, lived in a house and was the only child, but then it changed... I was playing in the playground with my friends but then I let out a zap of a white beaming light that seemed to over-shine the sun and a black zap that was darker then midnight. The whole school had seen it, I gazed at my hands with shock...

Then I looked down. Everything withing the space of five feet turned black and white! Panic spread through out the school as they ran, screaming in fear to the edge of the yard, the girls stood on the benches. I instantly ran for home, a trail of the two colors followed behind.

"Mum! Mum!" I ran into the door, tears streaming down my face. She looked at me shocked, "What are you doing home?" She looked behind me. "What is that?" I took a deep breath and whispered, "I don't know..." She looked at me with shock and mumbled something I could not hear; she ran upstairs while I discovered the colors that streamed out from my hands.

I made shapes in the air and swirled my feet around while the two colors streamed from them. Then dad came down, he looked at me curiously and asked for me to show him, I did as I was told. He gasped "That's what the psychic meant..." I looked at him puzzled as he continued, "All that shines brings darkness!"

I was at home a week, how could I go back there without knowing to control them? I had practiced all week trying to control them; and now I can. Trudging into the school gates, I noticed parents staring at me, kids in my year or over giggled and whispered, the little kids hid in the play huts...

Could I be anymore feared? Soon I was joined by my closest friends, Wendy and Mia. They at least cheered me up, but I was scared to smile, laugh or even play along with them. They cured that to, they put my arms around there shoulders and tickled my stomach.

"At least you can control them now," Mia pointed out, Wendy replied with "Yeah, I bet its cool being able to have the ability to let yourself over sleep or stay up all night!" I smiled, "Thanks, but I cant technically do that, but wanna see what I can do?" The two girls looked at each other excitedly and then blurted out, "YES PLEASE!"

I rubbed my fingers together as all eyes focust on me; I squeezed my palm together then relesed out a gentle sprinkle of darkness, then twirled around my finger and set off little butterflies made of light and danced around the three of us. Confidence grew in me as I jumped up, a dusky path leading behind as I ran higher and higher! I formed some pearly ice skates and glided up in the air as if I was in an ice-rink.

Everybody gazed at me in awe as I took myself carefully to the ground. They where asking for more after that, asking for little performances of cute animals or terrifying beasts. I formed a grand lion in the air, then made it roar silently. Then I made small doves that sat on there shoulders and brought them up into the air before disappearing.They enjoyed every second of it.

Chapter 2:
The next day I did not use my powers very much in case they where limited, but when I visited the doctor, he told me, "Well Karina, you have got un-limited powers, however you must use them six times, why don't you do it like this?"

He scribbled down a little time table to use my powers, when I wake up, when I have my breakfast, as soon as I get to school, after school, during tea and before I go to sleep. He told me also that if I do not use them at least six times a day, I will die...
