The things on their faces are obviously just smaller tic tacs, and as for the oxygen tank thingy or whatever it's supposed to be, well, I'm not sure yet. Still working on that one, but they are still glorified tic tacs nonetheless.

They look like upright jelly beans to me at first lol, but they do resemble tic tacs more now that you got me thinking about that.

The imposters are obviously mutated alien tic tacs that have turned into jelly beans. (A friend came up with mutated tic tac jelly beans, not me)

Imposters are expired. Past their due expiration date. Hence the reason why you need to throw them out.

And that lump on their back, weird growth mutation? Backpack? Not sure about that either.
